The purpose of this paper is to present the state of practice being used in the Philippines for the performance-based seismic design of reinforced concrete tall buildings. Initially, the overall methodology follows "An Alternative Procedure for Seismic Analysis and Design of Tall Buildings Located in the Los Angeles Region, 2008", which was developed by Los Angeles Tall Buildings Structural Design Council. After 2010, the design procedure follows "Tall Buildings Initiative, Guidelines for Performance-Based Seismic Design of Tall Buildings, 2010" developed by Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER). After the completion of preliminary design in accordance with code-based design procedures, the performance of the building is checked for serviceable behaviour for frequent earthquakes (50% probability of exceedance in 30 years, i.e,, with 43-year return period) and very low probability of collapse under extremely rare earthquakes (2% of probability of exceedance in 50 years, i.e., 2475-year return period). In the analysis, finite element models with various complexity and refinements are used in different types of analyses using, linear-static, multi-mode pushover, and nonlinear-dynamic analyses, as appropriate. Site-specific seismic input ground motions are used to check the level of performance under the potential hazard, which is likely to be experienced. Sample project conducted using performance-based seismic design procedures is also briefly presented.

The consulting industry is also growing as the use of management consulting increases as the importance of management strategies for the survival of companies due to rapid environmental changes is highlighted. As a result, competition among consulting firms is intensifying, and securing competitiveness is essential. This study tried to confirm the method of securing competitiveness of consulting firms from the perspective of organizational competitiveness through organizational effectiveness. As the consulting service is a knowledge service field, an empirical analysis was conducted for consultants who performed it because professional human resources were a core technology. Exploratory factors, reliability analysis, and regression analysis were performed using SPSS 22.0. As a result of a study on the effect of consultants' organizational effectiveness on customer orientation, it was found that the consultant's organizational commitment and organizational performance had a significant effect. It was possible to confirm the importance of intrinsic motivation to secure the competitiveness of consulting firms in the changing environment. This presented practical implications for organizational management regarding the continuous growth of consulting firms.

It is aimed at providing a guide for effective ERP implementation strategy in view of the need for differentiation and cost advantage strategy from competitors in introducing ERP centered on SMEs. The results show that differentiation and cost superiority and service quality are dependent on the introduction performance and mediating effect. First, the differentiation or cost advantage strategy supports the previous research results in financial performance. However, in the differentiation strategies, only the non-financial aspects were noted. Second, the differentiation and cost advantage strategy were analyzed to have financial performance only in the assurance of service quality factor and the remaining service quality was not significant in the introduction performance. Third, the mediating effect of consulting service quality was analyzed in terms of differentiation or cost advantage Did not do it. In conclusion, system construction is different from financial perspective in terms of construction strategy. In service quality factor, it affects the confidence that supplier provides, knowledge and confidence, and ability to give faith.

This study is a study on the different cognitive systems and different knowledge systems of members participating in complex and diverse consulting projects, and it is a study on team collaboration that affects the team performance of the project. The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediating effects of team shared cognition, team transactive memory, team knowledge integration, and team efficacy in the cognitive interaction process of a consulting project. This study established a research model and research hypothesis based on previous studies. Data were collected from consultants who actually participated in the consulting project. To empirically analyze the research hypothesis, demographic analysis, validity and reliability analysis, structural model analysis for hypothesis verification, and mediating effect analysis using phantom variables were performed. As a result of the study, in order to increase team performance, it is necessary to improve team shared cognition and team transactive memory, which are cognitive systems, and team knowledge integration, which is a knowledge system, must also be improved. Therefore, there is a need for a sense of team efficacy that integrates disparate cognitive and knowledge systems, trusts each other's expertise, and enables successful team work. In addition, future studies on sub-factors of cognitive processes are needed.

This paper is for the influence of consulting character how to affect on the word-of-mouth intention and repurchase. Consulting characters consist of expertise, reliability and application. The results of this study are as follows: Firstly, Application except expertise and reliability have a positive effect on word-of mouth intention influence. Secondly, expertise and application except reliability have a positive effect on repurchase intention influence. This study shows that the company marketing performance would be greatly improved by an application of consulting experience and an expertise of consulting need.

The use of Buckling Restrained Braces (BRB) for enhancing the performance of the buildings is gaining wider acceptance. This paper presents the first application of these devices in a major high-rise building in the Philippines. A 50-storey residential reinforced concrete building tower, with ductile core wall, with BRB system is investigated. The detailed modeling and design procedure of buckling restrained brace system is presented for the optimal design against the two distinct levels of earthquake ground motions; serviceable behavior for frequent earthquakes and very low probability of collapse under extremely rare earthquakes. The stiffness and strength of the buckling restrained brace system are adjusted to optimize the performance of the structural system under different levels of earthquakes. Response spectrum analysis is conducted for Design Basis Earthquake level and Service level, while nonlinear time history analysis is performed for the most credible earthquake. The case study results show the effectiveness of buckling restrained braces.

Smart City operates with the purpose of solving urban problems. The important thing in smart city operation is that spatial information must be managed at a high level. In addition, it has the characteristics of being managed by one platform. This study presented the core value dimension of smart city based on analysis of various domestic and overseas smart city operation cases. Smart cities are basically operated based on spatial information, and the higher the level of spatial information, the more smart city services can be connected and managed in an integrated manner. The performance dimension of smart city core values presented in the study includes prosperity, personalization, convenience, accuracy, sustainability, safety, environment, integration, etc., and there is a connectivity dimension, a concept that can be managed in an integrated manner. This study will be useful for empirical research on smart city performance dimension design and surveys based on case studies. It will also help field managers who develop, operate, and manage smart cities when quantifying performance dimensions.

It has been over a decade since the business consulting services by SMBA started in order to build up competitiveness through supporting small and medium enterprises under the business environment of globalization. No matter how there is no post empirical data of evaluation. Therefore, this study is focused on analysing the practical performance of Coupon System Management Consulting(CSMC) by comparing the financial condition for a few years before and behind since the companies have been involving in. As a result, the statistical significances of research hypotheses were rejected for the most part. Moreover, the growth rates of sales and total assets of which each of them is one of the indicators concerning growth and activity, are negatively significant, which means that CSMC the needs comprehensive consideration about its efficiency and in all its aspects.

Amid the importance of design is being emphasized as a new barometer for boosting enterprise competitiveness, high expectations are being placed on design consulting that evaluate design from a comprehensive perspective. SMEs, however, are not easy to gain access to design services compare to their counterparts - large companies. This will eventually cause them to ignore the importance of design, not to mention lack of financial resources for investing in design. With this regard, the paper analyzed the design status and design consulting performance of SMEs in industrial complex through the 2012 Design Innovation Project in Industrial Complex of Busan Design Center; also analyzed the effect of design consulting on improving competitiveness of SMEs as well as design awareness. As a result, the study found that a majority of companies do not invest in design or postponed investment, despite they are not satisfied with their design performance. However, 65.6 percent of SMEs that realized the importance of design after consulting have carried out design development, which brought about sales increase through their improved corporate images and product images. We believe design consulting played an important role for boosting awareness and competitiveness of SMEs. Eventually, we need to provide an intensified design analysis process that can facilitate SMEs. Design consulting support projects should offer practical design development programs through continuous follow-up, including interaction with state projects and design-specialized companies.
