Structural Work Duration Estimation and Analysis of Tower-Type Residential Construction Project

  • In order to shorten construction duration in high-rise project, construction company tried to make various system method toward simplifying construction method and shortening construction duration. Though high-rise tower-type residential project are growing, there are few case study. Then, the data for preliminary schedule planning in high-rise tower-type residential project are rare. This purpose of research shows construction method in structural work in high-rise tower-type residential project, suggests schedule planning in structural work through case studies. The structural work in high-rise tower-type residential project was divided 1) completion of form in lower part and 2) the typical floor under penthouse. The statistical analysis were done in two parts, the data from analysis were used in simulation. Finally, researcher confirmed the difference between real construction duration and the figure from simulation. The results shows that the more construction duration is long, the less ACS's cost is low. It means the effectiveness is increasing in ACS, if the floor number is high.

공정관리 활용을 위한 BIM모델의 공정별 수순 및 위치정보 추출방안 (Method of Deriving Activity Relationship and Location Information from BIM Model for Construction Schedule Management)

  • 시공단계의 BIM 활용 시 대표적인 기능은 4D시스템에 의한 공정 시뮬레이션 기능을 들수 있다. 4D시뮬레이션을 위해서는 공정 생성 후 공정별 3D모델의 연동과정이 필수적으로 요구된다. 설계단계에 작성된 3D모델은 공정 정보를 고려하지 않으므로 시공단계 적용을 위한 공정 정보의 생성과 3D모델의 연동과정에는 실무적 애로사항이 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 설계단계에 작성된 3D모델에서 HDBSCAN 알고리즘을 이용하여 시공단계의 공정 정보를 추출한 후에 위상정렬 알고리즘 적용으로 선후행관계를 파악하고 공정정보를 자동으로 생성하는 방법론을 제시한다. 생성된 공정 정보는 설계 3D모델을 기반으로 생성되었으므로, 4D시스템에서 공정과 3D모델간의 공통 매개변수에 의해 상호간 자동 연동되는 정보로 활용되어 4D시스템의 실무적 활용성을 배가할 수 있다. 제시된 방법론은 4개 교량에 적용하여 공정 정보 생성결과를 확인하였고, 4D시스템에 적용하여 공정과 3D모델 연동과정의 간편화를 확인하였다.

  • Lately, Building Information Modeling (BIM) emerges as the most promising technology, now is expected to bring a great deal of improvement of productivity in every aspect of the construction industry. One of the BIM based scheduling is to use BIM model as a base for applying to schedule analysis and simulation tools. This type of tools may incorporate a various types of information such as the building model, construction method information, resource information, productivity information, rules and constraints to optimize activity sequencing. This paper proposes a framework of BIM based simulating system which can be used to optimize construction processes, especially for the floor construction cycle. For the purpose, all of the necessary components of the system will be defined and represented, and next an algorithm will be introduced to demonstrate the principle of simulating operation. The benefits of this technique are basically two : to test and optimize construction methods in respect of the construction duration and to reduce the floor construction cycle.

베이지안넷 기반의 프로젝트 일정리스크 평가 (Project Schedule Risk Assessment Based on Bayesian Nets)

  • The project schedule risk in the engineering and facility construction industry is increasingly considered as important management factor because the risks in terms of schedule or deadline may significantly affect the project cost. Especially, the project-based operating companies attempt to find the best estimate of the project completion time for use at their proposals, and therefore, usually have much interest in accurate estimation of the duration of the projects. In general, the management of projects schedule risk is achieved by modeling project schedule with PERT/CPM techniques, and then performing risk assessment with simulation such as Monte-Carlo simulation method. However, since these approaches require the accumulated executional data, which are not usually available in project-based operating company, and, further, they cannot reflect various schedule constraints, which usually are met during the project execution, the project managers have difficulty in preparing for the project risks in advance of their occurrence in the project execution. As these constraints may affect time and cost which role as the crucial evaluation factors to the quality of the project result, they must be identified and described in advance of their occurrence in the project management. This paper proposes a Bayesian Net based methodology for estimating project schedule risk by identifying and enforcing the project risks and its response plan which may occur in storage tank engineering and construction project environment. First, we translated the schedule network with the project risks and its response plan into Bayesian Net. Second, we analyzed the integrated Bayesian Net and suggested an estimate of project schedule risk with simulation approach. Finally, we applied our approach to a storage tank construction project to validate its feasibility.

사업비 변동에 따른 공정계획 재수립을 위한 능동형 5D CAD 시스템 개발 (Development of Active 5D CAD System for Replaning Progress Schedule According to Change of Project Cost)

  • 건설프로젝트에서는 초기에 계획된 년차별 사업비가 공사 수행과정에서 빈번히 조정된다. 년차별 사업비가 초기 계획보다 감소되면 수행가능한 공정도 초기 공정계획대비 감소하게 되므로, 변동 사업비 내에서 수행가능한 적정한 공정을 재수립하여야 한다. 그러나 대다수 현장에서는 공정 재수립 없이 당초계획대로 공정을 진행하면서 사업비가 소진되면 현장 작업을 쉬는 경우가 많다. 이에 본 연구에서는 변동된 사업비 내에서 적정 공정계획을 재수립하고, 재수립된 일정에 따라 비용투입현황을 시각화하는 능동형 5D CAD 시스템을 개발한다. 이는 공정계획 재수립을 위한 의사결정 지원도구로 활용될 수 있고, 기존의 단순 시각적 정보제공에 중점을 둔 5D CAD시스템의 실무 적용성을 높일 수 있을 것이다.

  • The accuracy of contingency estimation plays an important role for dealing with the uncertainty of the financial success of construction project. Its' estimation may be used for various purposes such as schedule control, emergency resolve, and quality expense, etc. This paper presents a contingency estimation method which is schedule control specific. The method 1) implements stochastic EVMS, 2) detects a specific timing for schedule compression, 3) identifies an optimal strategy for shortening planned schedule, 4) finds a probability density function (PDF) of project cost overrun, and 5) estimates the optimal contingency cost based on the level of confidence. The method facilitates expeditious decisions involved in project budgeting. The validity of the method is confirmed by performing test case.

  • 본 연구는 대형 건설사업의 공기 및 공정계획 적정성 검증에 있어서 Bar Chart, CPM 등 기존 공정계획 기법의 한계를 극복하기 위한 대안으로 시뮬레이션 기법의 효용성을 검증하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 현재 한국 수자원공사에서 추진 중에 있는 시화 멀티테크노 밸리 사업을 대상사업으로 선정하였다. 시화 테크노밸리 단지조성 사업은 대규모 사업으로 많은 장비가 동시에 투입되어 대량의 교통 혼잡을 유발할 수 있는 건설 프로젝트이다. 특히 시화 멀티 테크노벨리 현장은 시화공단과 대부도 관광단지를 인접하고 있어 이미 상당한 규모의, 기존 교통량으로 인하여 매우 혼잡한 지역이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존 교통량에 추가적으로 공사차량이 증가할 경우 공기 내에 공사를 마칠 수 있는지에 대한 평가를 위한 시뮬레이션 모델을 구축하고, 적정 공기의 검증 및 공정계획 수립을 위한 방안을 제시 하였다.

  • 건설공사의 시공과정에 BIM을 적용하는 목적은 시공 간섭의 파악과 함께 공사일정의 경과에 따른 시공현황의 시각화가 주요 이유이다. 4D시뮬레이션은 이러한 목적의 수행 기능이며, 이를 위해서는 공정별 시작 및 종료일자와 해당 공정의 3D모델이 갖추어져야 하고, 실무적 편리성을 확보하기 위해서는 이러한 기본정보의 활용이 간편한 기능 구성이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 4D 모델 구성을 간소화하기 위해 설계단계에서 제작된 BIM 모델의 최소한의 속성정보를 활용하여 시공단계에 활용 가능한 공정 정보를 군집알고리즘을 이용해 생성하며 실제 공정관리 정보로서의 활용성을 분석한다.

중일정계획을 고려한 선체 생산설계 작업할당 시뮬레이션 (Job Assignment Simulation of Ship Hull Production Design in Consideration of Mid-Term Schedule)

  • In this paper, we analyze the procedure of the design manager for the enhancement of the hull production design process by use of the simulation method. Normally, design manager assigns design jobs according to various methods and estimates the corresponding results. When the construction drawing which is the output of the detail design where a design is dealt by zones, the design manager identifies blocks and analyzes their work difficulties, and assigns jobs to design engineers who are different in capabilities. These processes including the design engineer who can be modeled with man-hours evaluation model are represented in detail as a simulation model. As the high-level modeling for the discrete-event system, we use Event Graph model. And we implemented the simulation using Simkit which is open simulation engine for the discrete-event system. We made the simulation scenario to be written by a user in the scenario generator which is separated from the simulation model, and made the simulation result to be visualized in the form of Gantt chart in a Web. In the scenario of the irregular issuance for various construction drawings which contain different numbers of blocks, we performed the Monte-Carlo simulation according to various assignment methods to find the assignment result that satisfies the mid-term schedule.

  • It is an important issue in cost management to contract with the standard of cost estimate by the reasonable way in public construction projects. For the standard of cost estimate based on the Standard Estimating System, there is a difference of labor inputs between Standard Estimating System and actual quantities in construction projects. The duration of form work in multi-family housing depends on the manpower compared with other work, which is the critical path on the schedule management to be decided quality, and is the important to the cost management of construction projects. This study presented a simulation model of the productivity analysis for selecting the standard work type of form work in Multi-family housing construction projects.
