A Study on the Achievement Goals of Computer Programming for Elementary students (초등학생들을 위한 컴퓨터 프로그래밍의 성취 기준에 관한 연구)

  • Information and knowledge society in the 21st century creativeness education is very important. The core of creativity education is software education that is to make something based on the creative thinking. Each country has already emphasizes software education. And Software education for elementary school students reflect the curriculum. Software education can be divided into four areas which are information, problem solving, algorithms, and programming. In this study, I propose criteria for the achievement of a computer program for elementary school students. The proposed criteria of programming education are fulfilled in other subjects curriculum of korea and other national software curriculum. This study is analyzed by the validity of the Delphi analysis of primary school teachers. The result of this study is that elementary school students when teaching computer programming that is very reasonable results.

Design Education Methodology in Computer Science and Engineering (컴퓨터공학 분야 설계교육 방법론)

  • Commonly it is perceived that it is difficult to teach engineering design and satisfy accreditation criteria in computer science and engineering related majors. However, since engineering design in these disciplines are a product design, it is more adaptable than other majors which are process design oriented. This paper shows that although there are subtle differences with conventional engineering design, engineering design education in computer science and engineering can be effectively done. This paper concentrates on how engineering design related curriculum can be constructed, what should be considered when designing such curriculum, and how engineering design can be taught in individual design courses(excluding introductory and capstone courses) based on case experience.

  • 본 논문에서는 중등 교육에 적합한 데이터 리터러시 핵심 역량을 도출하기 위해 국내외 중등 교육과정의 내용을 분석하였다. 고등 교육 졸업생들을 대상으로 개발된 기존 데이터 리터러시 역량 프레임워크를 분석 매트릭스로하여 한국, 영국, 호주, 싱가포르, CSTA의 교육과정 내용을 분석한 결과, 중등 교육과정에서 공통적으로 나타나는 역량과 기존 프레임워크에 있으나 중등 교육과정에는 포함되지 않은 역량, 기존 프레임워크에 없지만 중등 교육과정에서 공통적으로 나타나는 내용 등을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • As the science and technology advances, the side effects of information and communications technology use become a social issue and the social demands to strengthen the informatics ethics in the curriculum of elementary and secondary schools becomes great. The contents of informatics ethics education is included in the current curriculum for elementary and secondary school, but they are embedded in multiple subjects without the holistic guidelines for the informatics ethics curriculum. Therefore it can have duplications of the contents or missing among subjects as those subjects are elective in the secondary school. In this study, we proposed a holistic curriculum for informatics ethics education and developed the education program based on subject integrated curriculum model and the cyber internet ethics education model to solve problems of informatics ethics education. The program was practised for 291 students of $10^{th}$ graders for 5 months and effectiveness was proven by the high attainment of ethics understanding. This subject integrated education program is proposed to solve the structural problems of informatics ethics education in 2015 curriculum.

Development of Subject-Convergent Teaching-Learning Materials for Core Principles of Support Vector Machines

  • To cultivate talented people with creative and convergent thinking skills to live in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the national curriculum of Korea is gradually emphasizing convergence education and software education. To meet the demands of the times, this paper suggests subject-convergent teaching-learning materials for educating core principles of Support Vector Machines, especially targeting elementary learners. Based on analysis of the national curriculum, achievement standards of three subjects are integrated. After printable worksheets for traditional face-to-face classes had developed, they were transformed to online interactive worksheets for non-face-to-face classes. The teaching-learning materials are expected to promote the growth of the learners' academic motivation and knowledge.

  • 본 논문에서는 초등학교 정규교육과정에서 다루고 있는 로봇교육으로서 2011년 고시 초등학교 교육과정의 실과 교육과정 5-6학년의 (생활과 전기, 전자) 단원에서의 로봇교육과 교사 로봇 연구대회에서 발표한 로봇교육 지도안의 몇 가지 사례들을 살펴보고, 초등학교 교육과정에서 로봇교육이 어떠한 가치를 지니고, 어떠한 방향으로 이루어져야 하는지에 대한 프레임을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 위에서 언급한 사례들은 로봇의 작동 원리와 센서 등 공학적 측면을 강조하고 있다. 하지만 이것은 로봇교육이 지니는 다양한 장점 중 극히 일부분에 지나지 않는다. 주어진 매뉴얼을 통하여 수행되는 최소한의 공학적 이해 수준을 가리키는 것을 넘어 문제해결 및 알고리즘을 수행할 수 있는 물리적 객체로서의 인식의 전환이 필요하다. 또한 로봇이 정규교육과정 속에서 수행되기 어려운 한계점을 제시하고 이를 극복하기 위한 방안을 모색해보고자 한다.

A Study on Usefulness of Convergent Education Curriculum for Gifted Children in IT

  • In the present knowledge and information society, knowledge and use of information and communication technology(ICT) is very important for every citizen. Also, for national power of a nation, IT-related industries need to be supported since those industries can be reconstructed in a short period of time unlike other industries. In this sense, identification and education of gifted children in IT become a serious national issue. Since 2013, gifted education has been conducted as a form of convergent education by government policy. However, there have been controversies on convergent education for gifted education. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the usefulness of convergent curriculum for gifted education in IT. For this purpose, gifted children in IT in a gifted education center are analyzed. By comparing the entrance ranking and graduation ranking, it is concluded that the current convergent gifted curriculum may not be efficient.

  • Computer education was started first step as the subject matter at 7th curriculum. Up to the present, It grown up the research scope continuously bat has several issues about education as subject matter. This paper discusses the issues related to speciality development of computer subject matter of elementary school. It make inquiries into the present state about it and is proposed theoretical base for systematic frameworks of it First of all, It is analyzed the curriculum, information infrastructure, human resource, learner, support system, contents related to computer subject matter of elementary school. Based on it, It is proposed concept, structure, scopes of the computer subject matter and a reform measure of teacher education program.

Review of Software Education based on the Coding in Finland (핀란드의 코딩기반 소프트웨어 교육에 대한 고찰)

  • Finland is referred to the country which is conducting the most advanced education in the world with the excellent education policy and the outstanding education system. Historical background and geographical environment of between Finland and Korea is similar in many ways, since the lack of resources, Finland has focused on the fostering the human resources for the growth of the country like Korea. However, because of the recent PISA in 2012 indicated a sharp declined result than before, pointed out the lack of computer related education and national level implementation strategies for a software education of neighboring countries, the discussion on software education in Finland is increased. Thus, the coming 2016 year become a significant year to bring up the opportunity for national growth through software education, Finland government prepared the software education curriculum as a national common required curriculum which will be implemented from elementary school. In this study, we will look through the background of Finland's software education and curriculum, we are going to suggest which might be helpful to set the direction of software education curriculum.

Analysis of 2015 Middle School Informatics Curriculum by Viewpoint of Core Competence

  • In this paper, we have looked at through core competences and contents of Informatics curriculum in middle school by expert questionnaire and Focus Group Interview(FGI). Among nine core competences of Informatics subject in curriculum, abstraction and automation were easily found, but creative harmony and cooperation were indirectly confirmed in the statements of teaching and assessment sections of Informatics curriculum in middle school. It was also identified that some core competency elements are redundant or hardly to found in the contents of Informatics curriculum. In addition, various opinions about Informatics curriculum have been put forward over the FGI. The results of this study will be the case that can be consulted on new revised Informatics curriculum to be developed further.
