Relying on the interaction indices - dominance index, relative strength index and entropy index, this paper analyzes the structural features of urban network in the Seoul metropolitan area with the flows of commuting, business, and freight. Analytical results show that the Seoul metropolitan urban system is vertical, size-dependent, one-way, and the highest city-dominant network rather than horizontal, size-neutral, two-way, complementary one. The network of freight flow is a little bit more symmetrical than the networks of commuting and business. However, the interaction with Seoul is still determinant in all aspects of hierarchical structure, relative strength, and symmetry of flow.

This paper presents a built-in current sensor(BICS) that can detect defects in CMOS integrated circuits through current testing technique - Iddq test. Current test has recently been known to a complementary testing method because traditional voltage test cannot cover all kinds of bridging defects. So BICS is widely used for current testing. but there are some critical issues - a performance degradation, low speed test, area overhead, etc. The proposed BICS has a two operating mode- normal mode and test mode. Those methods minimize the performance degradation in normal mode. We also used a current-mode differential amplifier that has a input as a current, so we can realize higher speed current testing. Furthermore, only using 10 MOSFETS and 3 inverters, area overhead can be reduced by 6.9%. The circuit is verified by HSPICE simulation with 0.25 urn CMOS process parameter.
In the last few years, many structural monitoring studies have been performed using different techniques to measure structures of different scales such as buildings, dams or bridges. One of the mostly used tools are GPS instruments, which have been utilized in various combinations with accelerometers and some other conventional sensors. In the current study, observation series were recorded for 8 hours with GPS receivers (NovAtel) and Inclination Measurement Sensors mounted on a television tower in Istanbul, Turkey. Each series of observations collected from two different sensors were transformed into a single coordinate system (Local Topocentric Coordinates System). The positional changes of the tower were calculated from the GPS and the inclination data. These changes were plotted in two dimensions (2D) on the same graphic. Thus, the possibility of comparison and analysis were found using the data from both the GPS and the Inclinometer complement each other, in the real test area. The positional changes of the tower were modeled for further examination. As a result, the movement of the tower within an area of $1{\times}1cm^2$ was observed. Based on the results, it can be concluded that inclinometers can be used for monitoring the structural behavior of the tower.
Purpose - There are numerous theories for retail trade area analysis which are designed to select candidate locations for new stores. In this study, comparative analysis on the characteristics from those of the theories are shown, and the explanation for the power in consumers' store-choice behaviors and their limitations are examined. Also, plans for improving commercial sphere analysis are explored. Research design, data, and methodology - This study is based on literature reviews with normative research methodology. Among many researches regarding the analysis on the location and commercial sphere for launching a new store, researches relying on statistics are excluded in this study since they belong to the marketing research area,. Results - In the Law of retail gravitation, Huff's model multinomial logit model and etc. are mutual complementary mathematical techniques for analyzing commercial spheres and each of them has its own characteristics. These theories rely on the same hypothesis in which consumers are all believed to be behaving rationally under a similar behavioral system. However, the trial in explaining or estimating behavior of choosing a store with only a select size of the population that is objectively estimated by some major properties has limits in its credibility. Conclusion - Research on consumer's spatial behaviors can be fully illustrative and explainable when it has both quantitative approaches such as 'law of retail gravitation', 'logit model' and etc., and qualitative approaches like consumer's 'cognitive structure', 'learning status', 'image formation', 'attitude' and etc.

An electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) containing a stacked metal-insulator-metal (MIM) and n-well capacitor is proposed. It was fabricated using a 0.18 $\mu$m standard complementary metal-oxide semiconductor process. The depletion capacitance of the n-well region was effectively applied without sacrificing the cell-area and control gate coupling ratio. The device performed very similarly to the MIM capacitor cell regardless of the smaller cell area. This is attributed to the high control gate coupling ratio and capacitance. The erase speed of the proposed EEPROM was faster than that of the cell containing the MIM control gate.
Nowadays, interests in land cover classification using not only multi-sensor images but also thematic GIS information are increasing. Often, although useful GIS information for the classification is available, the traditional MLE (maximum likelihood estimation techniques) does not allow us to use the information, due to the fact that it cannot handle the GIS data properly. This paper propose two extended MLE algorithms that can integrate both remote sensing images and GIS thematic data for land-cover classification. They include modified MLE and Bayesian predictive likelihood estimation technique (BPLE) techniques that can handle both categorical GIS thematic data and remote sensing images in an integrated manner. The proposed algorithms were evaluated through supervised land-cover classification with Landsat ETM+ images and an existing land-use map in the Gongju area, Korea. As a result, the proposed method showed considerable improvements in classification accuracy, when compared with other multi-spectral classification techniques. The integration of remote sensing images and the land-use map showed that overall accuracy indicated an improvement in classification accuracy of 10.8% when using MLE, and 9.6% for the BPLE. The case study also showed that the proposed algorithms enable the extraction of the area with land-cover change. In conclusion, land cover classification results produced through the integration of various GIS spatial data and multi-spectral images, will be useful to involve complementary data to make more accurate decisions.

Since the development of Bubble Image Velocimetry (BIV) technique as the complementary technique of Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), the application of digital imaging technique in the field of hydraulic and coastal engineering increased rapidly. BIV works very well in multi-phase flow (air-water) flows where the PIV technique doesn't. However, the velocity field obtained from BIV technique often resulted in a velocity vector on the outside of the flow (false velocity) since the Field of View (FOV) usually not only cover the air-water flow but also the area outside the flow. In this study, a simple technique of post processing velocity field was developed. This technique works based on the average of the pixel value in the interrogation area. An image of multi-phase flow of wave overtopping was obtained through physical experiment using BIV technique. The velocity calculation was performed based on the similar method in PIV. A velocity masking technique developed in this study then applied to remove the false velocity vector. Result from non-masking, manually removed and auto removed false velocity vector were presented. The masking technique show a similar result as manually removed velocity vector. This method could apply in a large number of velocity field which is could increase the velocity map post-processing time.
We investigated the textbook model explaining a phase of the Moon and compared it with student models at the secondary levels in Korea. 20 high school students and 36 middle school students from suburb area participated in this study. Participants were interviewed to explain understandings about the cause of the Moon's phase with drawing their models. The results of this study showed that the textbooks now in use explain the phase of the Moon with one unique scientific model, while students displayed 6 different kinds of models including the scientific model. Furthermore the students tend to have comparatively scientific model modes as their grades increase and their scholastic ability levels become higher. Although the students have learned the Moon's phase in school, they still have alternative models because the textbook does not explain enough for the students to overcome their alternative conceptions. In the textbook, the model presented without explanation of the limitation of the model, so there can be a gap between the model in the textbooks and the models in the mind of students. With these findings, we propose complementary models for helping secondary school students to develop their understanding of moon phases.
The way of approaching 'the relationship between love and justice' varies from person to person. We can argue for superiority of love or for superiority of justice by understanding the relationship between the two as conflicting. We can also argue that we need each other by understanding each other as a complementary relationship rather than an oppositional relationship. Hegel, however, sees love and justice as independent constitutive principles valid in different areas and does not regard the two as opposing nor complementary. This can only be understood when the structure of Hegel's theory of recognition is properly assumed. The relationship between love and justice will be considered mainly in Hegel's theory of recognition. Key philosophical points of Hegel's theory of recognition and consequences drawn on the relationship between love and justice on the basis of the theory will be examined. This can be summarized in the form of a thesis, roughly as follows. - Hegel presents love, justice and solidarity, that are various forms of recognition, to a family, a civil society and a state, that are three forms of social relations, as their constitutive principles. He does not grasp the relationship between love and justice as oppositional nor as complementary, that is different from many people's general perspective on the relationship of the two. - In Hegel's theory of recognition, love and justice differ in the areas in which they are valid. Love is a valid principle in the intimacy, and justice is a valid principle in non-intimacy. So, if justice and rights are asserted in intimacy, the area of intimacy is destroyed. Conversely, if love is asserted in non-intimacy, it cannot exercise real influence. - In the political community such as a state, where intimacy and non-intimacy overlap each other, the principle of solidarity is needed as a new constitutive principle, since a state does not stand on the principle of love as in a family nor on the principle of justice as in a civil society.
Recently, local torrential rain have become more frequent and severe due to abnormal climate conditions, causing a surge in human and properties damage including infrastructures along the river. In this study, water surface elevation prediction algorithm was developed using the LSTM (Long Short-term Memory) technique specialized for time series data among Machine Learning to estimate and prevent flooding of the facilities. The study area is Jamsu Bridge, the study period is 6 years (2015~2020) of June, July and August and the water surface elevation of the Jamsu Bridge after 3 hours was predicted. Input data set is composed of the water surface elevation of Jamsu Bridge (EL.m), the amount of discharge from Paldang Dam (m3/s), the tide level of Ganghwa Bridge (cm) and the number of tweets in Seoul. Complementary data were constructed by using not only structured data mainly used in precedent research but also unstructured data constructed through wordcloud, and the role of unstructured data was presented through comparison and analysis of whether or not unstructured data was used. When predicting the water surface elevation of the Jamsu Bridge, the accuracy of prediction was improved and realized that complementary data could be conservative alerts to reduce casualties. In this study, it was concluded that the use of complementary data was relatively effective in providing the user's safety and convenience of riverside infrastructure. In the future, more accurate water surface elevation prediction would be expected through the addition of types of unstructured data or detailed pre-processing of input data.
