This study was conducted to find out the effect of a lime stabilized slaughterhouse waste(LSW) on the growth of chinese cabbage and soil pH. Two levels of the lime stabilized slaughterhouse waste treatment, 169 and $338kg\;10a^{-1}$, with N-P-K fertilization were tested, and treatments of N-P-K and N-P-K with slaked lime were included in the experiment as a control. Fresh weight of chinese cabbage at harvest was not significantly different among the treatments. However, in the LSW treatment of $169kg\;10a^{-1}$, fresh weight of chinese cabbage was 5% higher comparing to the N-P-K treatment. Contents of N, P, and K in chinese cabbage were higher in the LSW treatments in comparison to the control treatments. Competitive inhibition of Mg uptake by Ca in the treatments of LSW and lime was apparent. Soil pH was increased by the application of LSW, and the increase in the LSW treatment of $169kg\;10a^{-1}$ was nearly the same as the soil pH increase in the slaked lime treatment. The lime stabilized slaughterhouse waste can be considered as a potential soil amendment for amelioration of soil acidity and supply of organic matter as well.
This study was conducted to predict reduction of soybean yield as affected by different densities of Cuscuta pentagona. All data were fitted to Cousens' rectangular hyperbola model to estimate parameters for predicting soybean yield loss. The yield of soybean in the various densities (1 to 48 plants $m^{-2}$) of C. pentagona reduced by 80.3 to 99.7%, respectively. Among yield components, number of pods was the most significantly influenced by weed interferences. The prediction model for soybean yield as affected by weed competition was as follows: Y= 274.6783/(1+4.3522X), $r^2$=0.999 in C. pentagona. Economic threshold levels calculated using cousens' equation was 0.004 plants $m^{-2}$ in C. pentagona.
In this paper, we propose the development of nitrogen cooling equipment for personalized local area. The proposed equipment consists of a cold air supply module, a body, and nitrogen injection with the following characteristics. First, it automatically controls the amount and time of cold air supply by utilizing information measuring skin temperature with volumetric temperature sensors, so it can have a competitive edge in function by ensuring complete safety. Second, if the distance measuring sensor is applied to the skin for more than a certain distance, it can block the cold air or control the discharge of nitrogen in conjunction with the control GUI to improve the efficiency of higher cooling therapy while providing safe management. Third, by installing a control module that can control the supply of nitrogen, the cost of maintenance can be minimized by minimizing the loss of nitrogen. Experiments at an external testing agency to evaluate the performance of the proposed equipment showed that the accuracy of the temperature sensor was measured in the range of ±3.8%, which is lower than the world's highest level(±5%), with a range of 110℃ to -160℃ similar to the world's highest level. Distance accuracy was measured in the range of ±3.0%, lower than the world's highest level(±5%), and weight accuracy in the range of ±0.1%, lower than the world's highest level(±5%). In addition, emission control was measured in four stages, higher than the world's highest level(stage 1) and nitrogen use was measured at 0.8L/min below the world's highest(6L/min). Therefore, the effectiveness of the methods proposed in this paper was demonstrated because they produced the same results as the world's highest levels.
Purpose - With the rapid economic development, great changes have happened in the Chinese beer market. The scale of imported beer is increasing. However, the sales of native Chinese beer decrease in recent years. It is because more Chinese customers prefer beer with unique attributes than those with lower prices. In order to take an advantage in this market, practitioners should develop new products to satisfy Chinese customers. Scholars have also focused on beer characteristics to estimate consumers' behavior for improving the development of beer industry. However, most studies are theoretically centered on marketing strategy management or general understanding of the market. It is not enough for us to explain customers' consumption patterns. Some empirical research did attempt to find out beer attributes that may influence their choice behavior. However, they failed to verify what can increase customers' utility through a new product. More importantly, few evidences can be found in the literature. Therefore this study explores the major characteristics of imported beer which may associate with customers' preferences. Research design, data, and methodology - With the results of literature review and focus group interview, we found out four main imported beer attributes and the levels of each factor. A pre-test is constructed to check the problems in the questionnaire protocol. With the results of pre-test, the revised questionnaire is processed among customers who have purchased and had imported beer in China regions such as Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guangdong and so on. The choice-based conjoint analysis is applied to analyze the useful data of 205. Results - Results indicate that choice-based conjoint analysis is the effective method to estimate customers' choice behavior. Results also indicate that country of origin, price, taste, and package affect customers' preference and the importances of imported beer attributes are significantly different. Conclusions - Country of origin, price, taste, and package are important for customers to make an imported beer choice decision. Marketers should consider these determinants and their importance to develop new products. Moreover, choice-based conjoint analysis should be the useful method for practitioners to develop a new product of imported beer for sustainable business in the competitive industry.
It is very important that design based on preference of consumers who continuously change. Therefore, the method that can decide on the design concept which a consumer can prefer in future points of time that a design is released is necessary. There may be various ways to decide a design concept, but trend analysis is one of the best ways to be able to satisfy consumer preference. The purpose of this study is to provide a process that can give a direction of MP3 player design oriented consumer emotion. For the purpose, we considered about trend analysis as the ways that can present the design direction that can grasp a change of continuous preference, and a consumer can prefer with early bases in future points of time of a consumer. In this empirical research, we decided on design elements and levels of the elements after collecting 228 MP3 players released from 2000 to 2007, and carried out trend analysis through homogeneity analysis by SPSS program. In the result, we knew that future consumers also will regard emotional experience consumption as important. So, MP3 player design will be developed into consumer emotion-oriented design. We predict 4 trends for a future MP3 player design. 1. Development of high-priced MP3 player with various multimedia functions. 2. Development of MP3 player with basic functions. 3. Development of new convergence products with MP3 function. 4. Development of new MP3 player based on flash memory. If designers can infer a future MP3 player design from this design trend results, the probability that can occupy competitive advantage in their competitions will be high. Therefore this study can be useful.

GLP-1-based drugs (GLP-1 analogues and DPP IV inhibitors) and incretin mimetics are currently one of the most exciting classes of agents for type II diabetes. GLP-1, a gut peptide, is an incretin that potentiates glucose-dependent insulin release from the pancreas, slows GI-transit and stimulates the proliferation of beta-cells. DPP IV inhibitors act like incretins by inhibiting DPP IV which inactivates GLP-1. LC15-0133 is a competitive, reversible DPP IV inhibitor ($IC_{50}$ = 24 nM, Ki=0.247 nM) with excellent selectivity over other critical human proteases such as DPP II, DPP 8, elastase, trypsin. and urokinase. LC15-0133 showed long half-life and good bioavailability in rats and dogs. Inhibition of plasma DPP IV activity by LC15-0133 was kept more than 50% 24 hours after oral dosing in rats and dogs at 0.1 mg/kg and 0.02 mg/kg, respectively. The Minimum effective doses of LC15-0133 were 0.01 mg/kg for lowering blood glucose excursion during oral glucose tolerance test and 0.1 mg/kg for increasing glucose-induced GLP-1 response in C57BL/6 mice. Repeat oral administration of LC15-0133 for 1 month delayed the progression to diabetes and reduced HbA1c levels in a dose-dependent manner in Zucker Diabetic Fatty rats. In conclusion, LC15-0133 is a novel, potent, selective and orally active DPP IV inhibitor and showed an excellent blood glucose lowering effects in various animal models.
To conduct a risk assessment of $AFB_1$ intake, $AFM_1$, which is a metabolite of $AFB_1$ in the human and porcine urine, was determined by competitive direct ELISA (cdELISA). The detection limit of cdELISA using anti-$AFM_1$ antibody and $AFB_1$-HRP conjugate was 10 pg/mL. The recoveries of $AFM_1$ were 117-167% after the addition of $AFM_1$ in the human urine in a range of 3-100 pg/mL. 165 samples (95.5%) of those obtained from 172 persons evidenced measurable levels of urinary $AFM_1$. The detected $AFM_1$ ranges were 0-11.6 pg/mL and the average level of $AFM_1$ contamination was 2.74${\pm}$ 1.89 pg/mL. The estimated amount of $AFM_1$ excretion in the human urine was 3.97 ng/day and the estimated $AFB_1$ intake amount was 79.4 ng/day. The probable daily intake (PDI) of $AFB_1$ by the subjects was estimated to be 1.28 ng/kg bw/day, which was higher than the tolerable daily intake (TDI, 0.15 ng/kg bw/day). In the case of porcine urine, the $AFM_1$ ranged between 0.97-26.7 pg/mL and the average contaminated $AFM_1$ was 10.62${\pm}$4.39 pg/mL. The estimated amount of $AFM_1$ excretion in the porcine urine was 27.6 ng/day, and the estimated $AFB_1$ intake amount was 551 ng/day.
The history of the Korean textile industry is not very long. Its growth only began from the early 1960's. Since then, its production scale and export volume have enpanded enormosly. The textile industry made a great contribution to Korea's sustained economic growth over the past three decades. While expanding rapidly, however, the Korean textile industry went through many difficulties and problems. To survive through interational competition, the textile produce were manufactured on a subcontract basis and prices were set at too low levels. Consequently the profit margins were very small. To meet international competition for the 21st century, the textile industry requires restructuring and a drastic progress has to be made in textile design and technology. To become internationally competitive, the education system for textile design must be improved. The textile schools must be equipped with better technology and facilities so that students may have a hands-on experience and acquire application skills quickly and effectively. Also students should be given an opportunity to work in the industry as an intern. In order to make all these possible, both the government and the industry must be fully supportive. Textile designing can be considered a cultural reflection. This implies that to develop the textile industry requires the elevation of the people's mind and culture. To improve textile technology and to elevate the standard of textile design, the government and the textile schools must make continued effort together.

Objectives: This research was conducted to suggest a recommendation for the Korean credentialing policy of health education specialist as the primary human resource in community health promotion activities from the special group perspective of the Korean Society for Health Education and Promotion. Methods: This research was conducted by the professional focus group discussion and descriptive literature review on health education and promotion. Results: This draft recommendation for Korean credentialing system development of health education specialist was based on the four background reasons for modifying health promotion related acts, for developing better policy of health education credentialing, for keeping the public and ethical responsibilities as the competitive professional society, and for improving health promotion activities in Korea. Theoretical background of the four reasons was Ottawa Charter. We classified three credentialing levels of health education specialist based on health education own competencies, coordiating competencies with environmental factors, and research competencies. Furthermore, we developed 10 major roles and categorized 53 sub-roles based on these competencies above. We recommended 10 classes required to take to become Health Education Specialist. These 10 classes were developed based on the credentialing systems in the United States and Japan. These 10 classes were about health education and promotion methods and strategies not health intervention topics. We also built the draft plan for continuing education to keep KCHES based on the NCHEC in the United States. Conclusions: Further research should be conducted to build better health education specialist credentialing systems modifing current communtiy-based health promotion activities in terms of modifying public regulation, developing KCHEC examination system, protecting job security both in public and private sectors, and creating professionalism in KCHEC.
In order to compare the quality of canned pork products which are called collectively as luncheon meat, residual nitrite, sodium, collagen, total heme pigments and chemical composition were analyzed in 12 products of 8 companies from 4 countries. Also, the proteins of products were compared with that of pork by SDS-PAGE analysis. The level of residual nitrite was low in all the products and sodium levels were similar except in one or two products. As for collagen and total heme pigments content, among imported products luncheon meats were different from chopped meat products while domestic products were similar regardless of label distinction. Collagen contents of domestic products were similar to those of imports but total heme pigments contents were much higher Densitometer scans of gel electrophoretograms of chopped meat were more similar to that of pork than those of luncheon meat. In terms of chemical composition, luncheon meat had more carbohydrate regardless of whether they are domestics or imports. The quality of domestic luncheon meat appears to be the composite of those of imported luncheon meat and chopped meat. Accordingly, the quality standard for luncheon meat as a cheap product should be established in Korea to enable the domestic products to have a competitive power in price.
