  • Five DOF motion errors of a hydrostatic bearing table driven by the coreless type linear motor were compensated utilizing the active controlled capillaries in this study. Horizontal linear motion and yaw error were simultaneously compensated using two active controlled capillaries and vertical linear motion, pitch and yaw error were also simultaneously compensated using three active controlled capillaries. By the compensation, horizontal linear motion accuracy and yaw were improved from 0.16 ${\mu}m$ and 1.96 arcsec to 0.02 ${\mu}m$ and 0.03 arcsec. Vertical linear motion accuracy, pitch and roll were also largely improved from 0.18 ${\mu}m$, 2.26 arcsec and 0.14 arcsec upto 0.03 ${\mu}m$, 0.07 arcsec and 0.02 arcsec. The compensated motion errors were within the range of measuring repeatability which was ${\pm}0.02\;{\mu}m$ in the linear motion and ${\pm}0.05$ arcsec in the angular motion. From these results, it is found that the motion error compensation method utilizing the active controlled capillaries are very effective to improve the five motion accuracies of the hydrostatic bearing tables.

  • A reaction wheel, an actuator for satellite attitude control, produces disturbance torque and force as well as its axial control torque. The disturbances have an influence on the pointing stability of high precision satellites. The measurement of disturbances for such a satellite, therefore, is necessary. The wheel's rotation, however, causes the vibration of the table and its vibration induces measurement errors, especially large near the resonance frequency of the Measurement table. For the purpose of overcoming these defects, a calibration method using frequency compensation is suggested in this paper. Disturbance parameters are identified from data examined by frequency compensation. Measurement frequency range can be expanded far higher than the resonance frequency, since the degradation of data accuracy caused by its vibration is well alleviated even in the resonance area.

  • The radome boresight error degrades the microwave seeker ability and the missile guidance performance. It increases the miss distance, also. This paper propose a method of radome boresight error measurement and compensation. The compensation method consist of radome analysis and radome compensation. In the radome analysis stage, we can know that the electromagnetic characteristics distorted by radome. In the compensation stage, the look-up table is built and used for compensation. The test uses a FMS(Flight motion simulator) and adjusts the FMS setup error for more accuracy. The result shows that not using an elaborate radome measurement equipment, the radome boresight error is well compensated easily.

  • This paper presents the In-process compensation to control cutter runout and improve the machined surface quality. Cutter runout compensation system consists of the micro-positioning servo system with piezoelectric actuator which is embeded in the sliding table to manipulate radial depth of cut in real-time. Cutting force feedback control was proposed in the angle domain based upon repetitive learning control strategy to eliminate chip load variation in end milling process. Micro-positioning control due to adaptive actuation force response improves the machined surface quality by compensation runout effect induced cutting force variation. This result will provide lots of information to build-up the preciswion machining technology.

  • For measuring out the submicron order straightness, a precision measuring device is developed in this paper. The device is constructed with a hydrostatic feed table and a capacitive type sensor which is mounted to the feed table. Straightness is acquired as substracting the motion error of feed table from the measured profile with probe. Motion error of feed table is simultaneously compensated upto 0.120${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of linear motion error and 0.20arcsec of angular motion error using the active controlled capillary. Reversal method and strai호t-edge is used fur estimating the measuring accuracy and from the experimental result, it is verified that the device has the measuring accuracy 0.030m. Also, through the practical application on the measurement of ground surface, it is confirmed that the device is very effective to measure the submicron order straightness.

  • This paper proposes a interpolation error compensation method for PMSM torque control. In PMSM torque control, two dimensions look-up table(2D-LUT) is used for current reference generation due to its stable and robust torque control performance. However, the stored data in 2D-LUT is discreet, it is impossible to store all over the operation range. To reduce the reference generation error in this region, the 2D-Interpolation method is conventionally used, however, this method still remains the error affected by the number of stored data. Besides, in the case stored by fixed unit, this error is increased in field weakening region because of the small number of stored data. In this paper, analyzing the cause of this interpolation error, and compensating the method to reduce this error. Proposed method is verified by the simulation and experiment.

  • It has been known that the OFDM-based terrestrial broadcasting systems are significantly more sensitive to nonlinear distortion in high-power amplifiers (HPA's) than the broadcasting systems using single-carrier modulation technique. In this paper, an adaptive precompensator which can compensate the nonlinear effect of the HPA for OEDM systems is proposed. The proposed precompensator consists of a compensation table, realized by memory (RAM), and an adaptive algorithm which can update the values of the compensation table more efficiently using a

  • A series of model borehole experiments and analyses for density compensation were performed to achieve the effective density correction of gamma-gamma log obtained from PVC cased boreholes. A follow-up survey was made for clarifying the variation property of detector responses depending on casing types, the presence of borehole fluid, and the degree of separation between probe and borehole wall. A special emphasis was placed on the comparison of gamma responses obtained from above and below ground water tables. Finally, we could quantify the detector responses as a function of separation between the probe and borehole wall, construct standoff compensation charts, and the limitations of the compensation have been discussed for the environments of both above and below ground water tables.
