In this paper, a theoretical study is presented for the force control of a miniature robotic manipulator which is driven by a pair of piezo-electric bimorph cells. In the theoretical analysis, one finger is modeled as a flexible cantilevers with a force sensor at the tip and the finger is a solid beam. The robotic finger is used to hold the objects with different stiffness such as an iron block and a living insect and a moving objcet. So it is very important to develop an adequate controller for the holding operation of the finger. The main problems in force controlling are overdamping, overshoot and unknown environment(such as the stiffness of object and unknown plant parameters). So, the main target is propose the new fuzzy compensation for unknown environment and incease the system performance. The fuzzy compensation is implemented by using PI-type fuzzy approach to identified unknown environment. And the result of proposed controller was compared with the conventaional PID and optimal controller.
This study analyzes the mathematical relationship between DC-link voltage and system parameters for shunt active power filters (APFs). Analysis and mathematical deduction are used to determine the required minimum DC-link voltage for APF. A novel adaptive DC-link voltage controller for the three-phase four-wire shunt APF is then proposed. In this controller, the DC-link voltage reference value will be maintained at the required minimum voltage level. Therefore, power consumption and switching loss will effectively decrease. The DC-link voltage can also adaptively yield different DC-link voltage levels based on different harmonic currents and grid voltage levels and thus avoid the effects of harmonic current and grid voltage fluctuation on compensation performance. Finally, representative simulation and experimental results in a three-phase four-wire center-split shunt APF are presented to verify the validity and effectiveness of the minimum DC-link voltage design and the proposed adaptive DC-link voltage controller.

Importance of separation of a nonlinear dynamical system into nonlinear static part and linear dynamical part was insisted in designing a controller for the nonlinear system. We further proposed compensation techniques for oscillation of controlled variables caused by system time delay and compensation of steady state errors caused by modelling errors of the systems. The proposed principle of designing procedure and the compensation methods were discussed by applying them for temperature and level control of an actual tanked water system.
Basically, the mis-convergence, which is inevitable in CRT Projection TV. is the degree of deviation of red and blue from green beam. The cause of mis-convergence is the change of magnetic field and electrical characteristic in deflection circuits and convergence amplification circuit. A new and easily implementable mis-convergence compensation algorithm is presented in this paper. The proposed algorithm does not needs any compensation devices. It uses only TV OSD and a remote controller and anyone who wants to compensate can easily correct the mismatch. Through real compensation experiments, it is found that the proposed algorithm is useful and effective one.
A primary-side regulation AC-DC converter operating in the PFM (Pulse Frequency Modulation) mode with a high precision output current is designed, which applies a novel inductance compensation technique to improve the precision of the output current, which reduces the bad impact of the large tolerance of the transformer primary side inductance in the same batch. In this paper, the output current is regulated by the OSC charging current, which is controlled by a CC (constant current) controller. Meanwhile, for different primary inductors, the inductance compensation module adjusts the OSC charging current finely to improve the accuracy of the output current. The operation principle and design of the CC controller and the inductance compensation module are analyzed and illustrated herein. The control chip is implemented based on a TSMC 0.35μm 5V/40V BCD process, and a 12V/1.1A prototype has been built to verify the proposed control method. The deviation of the output current is within ±3% and the variation of the output current is less than 1% when the inductances of the primary windings vary by 10%.
For the precision positioning and tracking control, the proper friction compensation is essential. The friction causes steady state error. The friction compensation based on the velocity and the controlling input or the desired velocity provides limited performance if the compensation value is fixed. In this paper, a friction compensation scheme using a fuzzy logic is proposed. The friction compensation amount is adjusted depending on the velocity and controlling input. The proposed fuzzy friction compensator with a pole-assignment controller is implemented in a linear positioning system. To illustrate the effectiveness of this scheme, computer simulations and experiments are carried out for the cases of no friction compensation, the proposed fuzzy friction compensation, and another friction compensation scheme based on velocity and control input, and the results are compared with each other.
This paper presents speed control scheme of the PMSM which has torque compensator to reduce the speed error and ripple. The proposed speed controller is based on the conventional PI control scheme. But the additional torque compensator which is different to the conventional differential controller produces a compensation torque to suppress speed ripple. In order to determine the proper compensation, the activation function which has discrete value is used in the proposed control scheme. With the proposed activation function, the compensation torque acts to suppress the speed error increasing. The proposed speed control scheme is verified by the computer simulation and experiments of 400[W] PMSM. In the simulation and experiments, the proposed control scheme has better control performance compare than the conventional PI and PID control schemes.
Thrust ripples in Permanent Magnet Linear Motor(PMLSM) are mainly generated by cogging force. Cogging force caused by the interaction between the iron core and the Permanent Magnet(PM), and end effect. This paper has proposed a control method for thrust ripples suppression and design of one-chip proceeding digital controller using TMS320LF2407. This control method is realized by Field Oriented Control(FOC) adding to current compensation. The effectiveness of proposed control method is verified by experimentation comparing between the compensation and non-compensation.
This paper proposes a novel current compensation technique that can eliminate the harmonic currents included in line currents without computation of harmonic current components. A current controller with fast dynamics for an active filter is described. Harmonic currents are directly controlled without the need for sensing and computing the harmonic current of the load current, thus simplifying the control system. Current compensation is done in the time domain, allowing a fast time response. The DC voltage control loop keeps the voltage across the DC capacitor constant. High power factor control by an active filter is described. All control functions are implemented in software using a single-chip microcontroller, thus simplifying the control circuit. Any current-controlled synchronous rectifier can be used as a shunt active filter through only the simple modification of the software and the addition of current sensors. It is shown through experimental results that the proposed controller gives good performance for the shunt active filter.
