  • This paper presents temperature-compensation circuits of Ku-band amplifiers for satellite payload. After carefully investigating design specifications of Ku-band amplifiers for satellite payload, we designed three types or temperature-compensation circuits, which are an active bias circuit, an attenuator control, and an ALC loop circuit. Our design technique demonstrates good agreement between measured and predicted results. These temperature-compensation circuits are suitable for Ku-band satellite payload active components, such as channel amplifiers, LNA and IF amplifiers.

  • Constant temperature hot wire air flow meter for automobiles requires temperature compensation system because hot wire output signal is sensitive to ambient temperature variations as well as fluid velocity. The objectives of the present study are to design an air flow meter circuit which is capable of compensating the hot wire output signal for ambient temperature variations and to investigate the mechanism of such temperature compensation. This circuit is composed of platinum hot wire, platinum resistor, two variable resistors, a constant resistor and a DC-amplifier. In particular, by simply replacing a constant resistor in one of the bridge arms of the conventional circuit with platinum resistor and a variable resistor for the purpose of temperature compensation, the deviation of output signal with respect to ambient temperature variations between 27deg. C 70deg. C could be reduced to less than 2.5% for mass flow rate and to less than 5% for velocity respectively. The mechanism of temperature compensation against ambient temperature variations was explained by means of measuring the heat transfer coefficient with hot wire temperature variations and analyzing and analyzing conventional empirical equations qualitatively.

  • This paper describes a phase compensation technique for the low power consumption OTA. Power consumption of the low power OTA is lower than that of the conventional Wang's OTA. However. this circuit has an oscillation problem. The phase margin is -24deg. By using the phase compensation capacitor, the phase margin becomes 52deg. As a result, the low power consumption OTA circuit becomes to have an enough phase margin and to operate stably.

  • Dead-Time is necessary to prevent the shot circuit of the full bridge inverters in pulse width modulation. However the output voltage deviations is the result of the Dead-Time that decrease power from the out put voltage inverters. This paper presents the method that compensate power output voltage inverters loss in Dead-Time circuit for DC Motor Drives with full bridge voltage inverters. The compensation of Dead-Time method is a sample and a low-cost solution. The comparison between the test results and simulation by MATLAB&SIMULINK under the same condition is similar.

  • This paper represents a hot-film flow sensor which is compensated by a noble temperature compensation method using the initial unbalanced voltage. The resistance value of the sensor is determined by using the graph of the initial unbalanced voltage of an open-loop circuit against the air temperature. The compensation is accomplished by applying the unbalanced ratio of the resistors in the Wheastone bridge circuit. In the range of air temperature of $-20^{\circ}C{\sim}120^{\circ}C$, the error is about ${\pm}1%$.

  • This work proposes a simple control method of a buck-type active power decoupling circuit that can minimize the ripple values in the dc link voltage. The proposed method utilizes a simplified duty calculation method and an optimal compensation gain tracking algorithm with variable-step approach. Thus, the dc link voltage ripple can be effectively reduced through the proposed method along with rapid response in tracking the optimum compensation gain. Moreover, the proposed method has better dynamic responses in the load fluctuation or abnormal situation. MATLAB/Simulink simulation and hardware-in-the-loop-simulation(HILS)-based experimental results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

  • The life time of AMOLED displays has been dependent on OLED materials up to this point. In particular, image sticking (burn-in) has been one of the most critical issues for AMOLEDs. This paper proposes image sticking compensation AMOLED pixel circuits to address the problem without requiring process or material improvements to the OLED itself. We verified the performance of those circuits by simulation and actual panel implementation.

  • An electric power compensation system for a DC transmission system with an integrated wind turbine generator is proposed. The proposed compensation system consists of a synchronous generator and a duplex reactor. This apparatus is connected to the sending-end circuit of the DC transmission system. A set of steady-state equations of the system is first derived. Then, the effect of the duplex reactor, which can eliminate the sending-end grid current distortion due to commutation of the converter, is explored. The relationships among power at the sending-end circuit are also revealed. It is shown that fluctuations in the sending-end grid power due to changes in wind velocities are compensated with the proposed system. Finally, the effects of the sending-end grid conditions on the steady-state characteristics of the system are studied.

  • In the visible light (VL) communication based on the conventional LED lights, depending on the increase of the communication range, the signal received at the photodiode of the VL receiver has usually the random distorted and decreased amplitude due to the path loss and fading effects of the VL channel. In order to overcome this problem, we propose, design, and implement the visible light communication circuit based on the comparator threshold voltage, where has a built-in distance compensation function. In addition, the performance of the proposed technique is evaluated and analyzed depending on the distance and communication speed through comparing the proposed VLC system based on the threshold voltage with the conventional one.

  • This paper presents a mode transition method that applies frequency compensation technique of an LLC resonant converter for stable mode transition. LLC resonant converters used in various applications require high efficiency and high power density. However, because of circuit property, a wider voltage gain range equates to a greater circuit loss, so maintaining high efficiency at all voltage gain ranges is difficult. In this case, full bridge-half bridge mode transition method can be used, which maintains high efficiency even in a wide voltage gain range. However, this method causes damage to the circuit through overcurrent by the mode transition. This study analyzes the cause of the problem and proposes a mode transition method that applies frequency compensation technique to solve the problem. The proposed method verifies the stable transition through simulation analysis and experimental results.
