The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze whether or not, if a community social service center was affiliated with a governing body running other community social service centers, the center would have better organizational performance in comparing to an independently running center. Data was collected from a nationwide mailed and self-administered survey, which 237 centers out of 343 community social service centers responded. Even if, the response rate was 72%, 218 centers were finally analyzed due to the weakness of reliability and incompleteness. By the way, measurement of organizational performance as the dependent variable has been substituted of the results of nationwide organizational evaluation project as the secondary data. One of findings is that 68% of 218 responding centers appeared to be affiliated with a governing body which running more than three other centers, while 41% being affiliated with a body which running more than five other centers. However, a logistic regression analysis which using organizational performance as the dependent variable, has failed to verify the hypothesis that a center which affiliated with a governing body running other centers has better organizational performance when comparing to an independent center. The researcher assumes that a part of governing bodies has better performance and improves competitiveness while the other larger part of them pursues simple organizational growth. Thus, this situation made that the overall evaluation of being affiliated with a large governing body was not positive.

To accomplish this purpose structural relationships between single mother's community participation factors, social capital and empowerment have been analyzed. For the analysis 420 single mothers, who had participated various types of communities, were surveyed and structural equation modeling had been used and optical theory structure model(χ2=86.851, df=28, GFI=.958, CFI=.944), which explains the structural relationship among the factors, had been chosen. From the result, first, there was differences between empowerment and community participation levels, which is single mothers' community participation factors, of the impact on social capital and empowerment. Empowerment level of community, which was mediated by community participation level and social capital, affected empowerment, in the other hand, community participation level affected empowerment more directly than the impact of social capital. Second, single mothers' community participation factor affected more improvement of empowerment when it mediated by the accumulation of social capital. Third, single mothers' social capital directly affected the most improvement of empowerment. Based on the fact the implications of the study were presented.

Therefore, it was found in this study that the brief family education program in the community social welfare center had a positive impact on schizophrenic outpatients and their families' treatment and rehabilitation. From the results of this study, it can be seen that this program positively effects the treatment and rehabilitation of schizophrenic patients and the stability of their families. The program can also be easily utilized as a community resource. Furthermore, the results of this study can be utilized as fundamental support to suggest the need for mental health programs in community social welfare centers. This study suggested the importance of increasing the number of mental health professionals working in this arena. There is also a need to create additional supportive programs for schizophrenic outpatients and their families. Follow up care also needs to be provided to families after completing family education programs. Continuous study is needed in these areas.
As child neglect and abuse have emerged as social problems deteriorating human rights of children, this study aimed to examine the impacts of child neglect and abuse at community children centers on consciousness of human rights. In addition, this study examined whether self-esteem mediated the relationship between child neglect and abuse and consciousness of human rights. From the community children center panel data, 630 fifth-year children at elementary schools were included as a sample. Key findings of structural equation modeling can be summarized as follows: (1) Child neglect and abuse were found to have negative impacts on children's self-esteem and consciousness of human rights, respectively; (2) self-esteem was positively related to consciousness; (3) self-esteem partially mediated the relationship between child neglect and consciousness; (4) the impact of child abuse on consciousness of human rights was found to be perfectly mediated by self-esteem. We conclude by suggesting policy and practice implications to promote human right-friendly environments.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the association between oral health impact profile, depression and quality of life among community-dwelling elderly persons in South Korea. Methods: The design of this research was cross-sectional descriptive study. The participants were 266 community-dwelling individuals aged 65 and older. Data were collected from November 20 to December 20, 2011. The measurements for assessing the subjects' oral health, depression, quality of life were OHIP-14, GDS-SF and QOL. Data were collected using self-administered or interviewer-administered questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The participants' mean age was 77.68, and 86.5% were female, 42.9% were living-alone elders. Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis found that oral health impact profile was significantly associated with depression (r=-.622, p<.001), QOL (r=-.400, p<.001), number of disease (r=.298, p<.001), age (r=.198, p=.002), education (r=-.149, p=.015), eating habit (r=.185, p=.003). The QOL was explained 54.7% by depression (${\beta}$=-.619), oral health impact profile (${\beta}$=-.127), number of benefited welfare service (${\beta}$=.235), perceived health (${\beta}$=-.327), eating habit (${\beta}$=-.094) using stepwise multiple regression analysis. Conclusion: These results indicate that the intervention program of oral health promotion for community-dwelling elders is needed from now on.
Volunteering has been defined as a form of altruistic helping behavior directed at improving other's welfare. Volunteering is, however, also identified as a type of collective action for community welfare. In this regard, this study tests whether neighborhood member's network and collective identity are more important determinants to explain participation in volunteer work than altruistic or normative motivation. This study estimates a model in which volunteering is determined by empathy, normative beliefs, neighborhood networks(friendship, contacts, and integration), and identity as a neighborhood member. This study shows that empathy, normative beliefs, and collective identity as a neighborhood member have significant impacts on participation in volunteer work. In addition, this study reveals that neighborhood member's network has an indirect impact on volunteering through identity as a neighborhood member. These results suggest that neighbor-hood community member's ties and collective identity are important sources for community welfare and collective volunteer work.

And parents' attention and participation had a negative impact on the initial value of aggressive behavior, while the attention and participation of the community showed a positive impact on the initial value of depression and aggressive behavior. Based on these results, this study attempted to broaden the understanding of the development of poor children taking part in orchestra-based educational activities and provide a practical basis for social workers' direct invention, and look for new ways by shedding light on the merits of the cultural/art education of poor children that engage in the community-based orchestra educational activities.

This study aims to verify the effect of the rural community living home use through an analysis of depression among the elderly women who live alone in the rural community living home. A survey was conducted from July to September 2015 through direct interviews with 236 elderly people who live alone in community living homes at 52 locations across the country. The main results of this study are as follows. First, social support from family/relatives and neighbors/friends was found not to affect depression in the elderly living in community living homes. Second, satisfaction with health status, economic status and life appeared to affect their depression. This indicates the need for various measures to increase the subjective satisfaction of health. Third, when the demographic characteristics, social support and personal satisfaction were controlled, the period of use, satisfaction with use and operational service/no service were proven to have an impact on depression in the elderly living alone in community living homes. In other words, since the level of satisfaction with community living homes is very high and this has a positive impact on the elderly living in community living homes, it is desirable to have an ongoing policy for the homes to be utilized as important welfare resources. Based on these findings, this study proposes improvements in the user experience and programs and services offered for rural community living home business programs.
