간호학생의 비판적 사고성향과 핵심능력 (The Relationship of Core Competencies(Problem Solving Ability, Communication Ability, Self-directed Learning Ability) to Critical Thinking)

  • Purpose: This study was done to analyze core competencies affecting critical thinking ability of student nurses. Core competencies investigated in this study were problem solving ability, communication ability and self-directed learning ability. Method: Data were collected from a convenience sample of 322 student nurses in 2 provinces during the period from May 21 to June 8, 2007. Critical thinking, problem solving ability, communication ability and self-directed learning ability were measured using the Disposition towards Critical Thinking Scale by Park(1999-a) and the Core Competencies Scale by Lee(2003). Descriptive statistics and correlation coefficients with the SPSS WIN 12.0 program were used to analyze the data. Results: There were significant differences in the critical thinking according to grade, type of high school, experience with PBL, preference for lecture-based learning, preference for discussion and perceived logicality. The score for critical thinking showed significantly positive correlations with scores for problem solving ability(r=0.54, p=0.00), communication ability(r=0.56, p=0.00) and self-directed learning ability(r=0.54, p=0.00). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that problem solving ability, communication ability and self-directed learning ability are significant factors affecting critical thinking in student nurses.

간호대학생의 자기인식, 타인인식 및 의사소통능력 (Self-awareness, Other-awareness and Communication Ability in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship among the factors of self-awareness, other-awareness and communication ability, and how they relate to communication ability in nursing students. Methods: For data collection 237 nursing students completed self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Self-awareness, other- awareness and communication ability of the participants showed moderate levels of self-awareness, other-awareness, and communication ability. There were significant positive correlations between self-awareness and communication ability (r=.59, p<.001). and between other-awareness and communication ability (r=.22, p=.001). Social anxiety, private self-awareness, and internal other-awareness were significant factors, which explained about 37% of the variance in communication ability. Conclusion: These findings suggest that a systematic and effective curriculum focused on self-awareness and other-awareness should be developed for nursing students in order to promote their communication ability.

간호대학생의 자아탄력성, 의사소통능력과 문제해결능력 (Ego Resilience, Communication Ability and Problem-Solving Ability in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the influences of ego resilience and communication ability on problem-solving ability in nursing students. Methods: The subjects consisted of 448 first and second year nursing students. The data were collected from June 10 to 21, 2013. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics version 19.0. Results: The Ego resilience score of subjects was 2.84 out of a perfect score of 4, the communication ability score of subjects was 3.51, and the problem-solving ability score of subjects was 3.44 out of a perfect score of 5. A positive correlation was found for problem-solving ability with ego resilience and communication ability. The strongest predictor of problem-solving ability was a communication ability. Conclusion: These findings indicate that there is a need to increase communication ability to improve the problem-solving ability of nursing students. The results should be reflected in the development of effective curricula.

치과위생사의 의사소통에 관한 중요도 인식과 능력 차이분석 (Difference analysis of importance perception and ability of communication among dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the importance of perception and communication ability among dental hygienists and provide evidence for the activation of communication education necessary to improve communication ability required in the actual dental field. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted on 227 members attending conservative education in 2020. Results: The following are mean scores of each area of communication according to importance: message conversion ability, 3.82 points; interpretation ability, 3.74 points; goal setting ability, 3.51 points; self-expression ability, 3.48 points; and role performance ability, 3.46 points. The ability was interpreted in the following order: interpretation ability, 3.61 points; message conversion ability, 3.56 points; role performance ability, 3.43 points; self-expression ability, 3.32 points; and goal setting ability, 3.10 points. The highest score in terms of importance of awareness was 4.27 points, the highest among interpretive abilities, that is, to 'listen carefully to know what the other person intends to say.' When it comes to communication skills, the highest score was 4.12 points for 'a nod or a facial expression of understanding while listening to each other.' Conclusions: In devel oping a training program related to communication for dental hygienists at the clinical site, the curriculum reflecting seven items that needs improvement should be revised; and through this, it is expected that dental hygienists' communication skills will be improved.

정신간호사의 공감능력과 유머감각이 의사소통능력에 미치는 영향 (A study on the Influence of Empathy Ability and Sense of Humor on the Communication Ability of Psychiatric Nurses)

  • 본 연구는 정신간호사를 대상으로 공감능력, 유머감각이 의사소통능력에 미치는 영향을 확인하여 의사소통능력을 조절하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 시도되었다. 연구참여자는 B와 G시의 정신의료기관에 종사하는 정신간호사 219명을 대상으로 하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 이용하여 실수, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, t-test, ANOVA, 피어슨 상관계수, 다중회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 대상자의 의사소통능력은 3.59±.43점이었고, 의사소통능력은 유머감각(r=.53, p<.001), 공감능력(r=.39, p<.001)과 상관관계를 나타냈다. 의사소통능력에 영향을 미치는 요인은 유머감각, 공감능력으로 나타났고, 설명력은 34.4%로 확인되었다. 본 연구결과를 통하여 정신간호사를 대상으로 유머감각과 공감능력 향상이 필요하며, 이를 조절하여 의사소통능력을 향상시키기 위한 프로그램 개발이 필요하다.

간호관리학 임상실습에서 과제수행방식이 간호대학생의 의사소통능력에 따라 문제해결능력과 간호역량에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Task Performance Style in Nursing Management Practicum on Problem-Solving and Nursing Competency according to Communication Ability of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine effects of task performance style, communication ability and their interaction on problem-solving ability and nursing competency of nursing students participating in a nursing management practicum. Methods: The study was a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. Participants were 56 fourth year nursing students (25 in the cooperative task group and 31 in the individual task group) and data were collected from March to September 2010. Additionally, two groups were classified based on communication ability of students and four groups were classified by their task performance style and communication ability. Problem-solving ability and nursing competency were measured pre- and post-test and compared between groups. Data were analyzed using SPSS Windows 17.0 program. Results: Neither problem-solving ability and nursing competency were statistically significantly different according to task performance style. Nursing competency was statistically significantly higher in the high communication group compared to the low communication group. Problem-solving ability was significantly different among the four groups classified by task performance style and communication ability. Conclusion: Nursing educators may need to improve students' communication ability to improve nursing competency and also assign different tasks based on communication ability of nursing students to improve problem-solving ability.

초등학교 3학년의 미디어기기 이용과 집행기능 곤란과의 관계: 의사소통의 조절효과를 중심으로 (A Study on the Relationship between the Media Device Use and Executive Function Difficulties in Third Grade: Focus on the Moderating Effect of Child's Communication Ability)

  • This study identifies correlations between the use of media devices, communication ability, and executive function difficulties for third grade students, as well as investigates the moderating effect of a child's communication ability. Data from the 10th (2017) Panel Study on Korean Children [PSKC] was employed (N=557). Descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation and hierarchical regression were used along with SPSS 25.0(IBM Co., Armonk, NY, USA). The results were as follows. First, the executive function difficulties in the third-grade showed a significant positive correlation with media device use. While also, showing a negative correlation with a child's communication ability. Media devices use and communication ability has a significant negative correlation. Second, a child's communication ability has a moderating effect in relation to the use of media devices and executive function difficulties. The difficulty of executive function showed a reciprocal increase to a child's use of media devices and indicated a discriminatory effect of a child's communication ability. In conclusion, this study shows that communication ability is important as a personal factor for children who control the negative effects of media devices. Therefore, it is necessary to provide and support an environment for the development of a child's communication ability.

의사소통 인식과 의사소통능력 및 자기효능감에 대한 융합연구 -S대학 융복합 수강생을 중심으로- (Convergence Study about Awareness toward communication, Communication ability and Self-efficacy : Centered on the 'S' University college students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 융복합 수강생의 의사소통 인식과 의사소통능력, 의사소통 자기효능감의 관계를 확인하기 위한 융합연구이다. 2017년 3월13일부터 24일까지 S대학 융복합 수강생을 대상으로 자발적으로 동의한 학생에게 연구목적과 방법을 설명하고 128부의 설문지를 수집하였다. 분석은 IBM SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, T-test, ANOVA, Spearman correlation coefficient를 이용하였고 도구는 Likert 5점 척도이다. 연구결과 연구대상자의 의사소통 인식 5점 만점 평균 $3.50{\pm}.41$, 의사소통 능력 $3.32{\pm}.38$, 의사소통 자기효능감 $3.00{\pm}.40$으로 나타났다. 연구대상자의 의사소통 인식과 의사소통 능력(r=.633, p<0.01), 의사소통 인식도와 자기효능감(r=.336, p<0.01), 의사소통 능력과 자기효능감(r=.480, p<0.01) 모두 유의한 양의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 따라서 융복합수강생의 자기효능감 수준을 향상시키는 프로그램이 적용된다면 의사소통 능력을 더 높일 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

일부 치위생(학)과 학생의 자기인식과 타인인식에 따른 의사소통능력 (Communication ability according to self-awareness and other-awareness in some dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among the factors of communication ability according to self-awareness and other-awareness in some dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 260 dental hygiene students in Gwangju and Jeonnam from June 14 to 28, 2016. After explanation of the purpose of the study, an informed consent was written by the students. The effect size was calculated by $G^*power$ 3.1 program. The study instruments comprised the general characteristics of the subjects, self-awareness, other-awareness, and communication ability. Data were analyzed by independent test, one way ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, stewise multiple regression test, and Pearson's correlation test using SPSS 18.0. Results: Communication ability had a significant positive correlation with self-awareness(r=0.427, p<0.001) and other-awareness (r=0.460, p<0.001). The higher level of self-awareness and other-awareness was proportional to communication ability. The influencing factors of communication ability included private self-awareness(${\beta}=0.227$), public self-awareness(${\beta}=0.170$), social anxiety(${\beta}=0.182$), and external other-awareness(${\beta}=0.282$). Conclusions: To improve the communication ability in the dental hygiene students, it is important to improve self-awareness and other-awareness. The implementation of communication skill in the curriculum will enhance the dental hygiene students competency.

예비방송인들의 자아탄력성, 공감능력이 의사소통능력에 미치는 영향 연구 : 일반적 특성을 중심으로 (The Study on the Effect of Ego-resilience, Empathic Ability of Preliminary Broadcasters on Communication Ability : Focusing on General Characteristics)

  • 본 연구는 예비방송인들의 자아탄력성과 공감능력이 의사소통능력에 미치는 영향을 파악하여 대학이 해야 할 일을 탐색하는 것이다. 이에 부산시 소재 5개 대학교의 언론관련학과에 재학 중인 예비방송인 333명을 대상으로 일반적 특성에 따른 자아탄력성과 공감능력, 의사소통능력 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구분석 결과 첫째, 예비방송인은 공감능력이 가장 높았으며, 다음으로 의사소통능력, 자아탄력성 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 예비방송인의 일반적 특성에 따른 자아탄력성은 성별, 전공만족도, 동아리 활동에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었고, 공감능력은 성별, 입학동기, 전공만족도, 동아리활동에 따라, 의사소통능력은 성별, 전공만족도, 동아리활동에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 예비방송인의 자아탄력성, 공감능력, 의사소통능력 간의 상관관계는 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있으며, 공감능력과 의사소통능력의 상관관계가 가장 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 의사소통능력의 영향요인은 공감능력, 자아탄력성, 성별로 나타났다. 예비방송인 관련하여 의사소통능력 영향요인이 공감능력과 자아탄력성이라고 규명한 것은 연구로서 의의가 있을 것이다. 따라서 예비방송인들의 의사소통능력 향상을 위한 교육과정 개설 등의 방안 마련이 필요하겠다.
