Performance Analysis of Hybrid DS/SFH Spread Spectrum System using BFSK Modulations over Nakagami-m Fading Channel with Multitone Jamming (다중톤 재밍이 존재하는 나카가미-­m 페이딩 환경에서 BFSK 변조방식을 이용한 Hybrid DS/SFH 확산대역 시스템의 성능분석)

  • In this paper, we analyzed the performance of a hybird DS/SFH(Direct­Sequency­Slow Frequency­Hopping) Spread Spectrum system with BFSK modulation over Nakagami­m fading channel with multitone jamming. The performance of the system was improved when a frequency bowing rate increased. In case that process gain of hybrid DS/SFH Spread Spectrum system to be fixed, the hybrid DS/SFH Spread Spectrum takes the low bit error probability than a DS Spread Spectrum system. Also, when the fading index m increases, the fading effect decrease, when the JSR(jamming to signal power ratio) increases ,the performance of a hybrid DS/SFH Spread Spectrum system improved than DS Spread Spectrum system. The result, we have been proved that performance of a hybrid DS/SFH Spread Spectrum was superior to DS Spend Spectrum system over Nakagami­m fading with tome jamming.

  • In this paper, we have analyzed a performance of fast frequency hopping communication systems when a rayleigh fading caused by envelope variations of a signal received in multipath channel is, but it is not considered that intentional or unintentional jamming can be. The multipath fading channel and rayleigh fading are confirmed by theoretical analysis. In fading or non-fading, the performance of this system is studied. When the path diversity is applied to this system, the performance is shown to be superior to non-diversity systems about 20dB. For modulation methods, BFSK was compared with DPSK.

  • In this study, we have discussed and illustrated the security issues of WiMAX technology including vulnerabilities, threats and some security solution. Both physical layer and data link layer have been considered. Jamming is a major threat in physical layer, and in data link layer we study an authentication problem and see the problem of some unencrypted messages leading to lack of confidentiality. Some of these vulnerabilities have been solved in the recent amendment of 802.16 and some still remain. Moreover WiMax is a new technology yet.

  • In Electronic Warfare, the need to develop a jamming system that protects our location information from enemy radar is constantly increasing. The jamming system normally uses wide-band DRFM(Digital Radio Frequency Memory) that processes the entire bandwidth at once. However, it is difficult to jam if there is a CW(Continuous Wave) interference signal in the band. Recently, instead of wide-band signal processing, a structure using a filter bank that divides the entire band into several sub-bands and processes each sub-band independently has been proposed. Although it is possible to handle interference signal through the filter bank structure, spurious signal occurs when the signal is received at a boundary frequency between sub-bands. Spurious signal makes a output power of jamming signal distributed, resulting in lower JSR(Jamming to Signal Ratio) and less jamming effect. This paper proposes an over-sampled channelized DRFM structure that enables interference response and prevents spurious signal for sub-band boundary frequency input.

  • In this paper, the DOP improvement was studied for the solution to an intentional jamming and the increase of position accuracy by selecting preferred satellites with hybrid satellite navigation system(both GPS and GLONASS). As a result of data analysis, the increases in 0.3 ~ 0.8 GDOP, 0.2 ~ 0.6 PDOP, and 0.1 ~0.3 TDOP were acquired by using hybrid satellite navigation system instead of GPS-only.

  • One of the premier mechanisms used in extracting unobserved signals from observed mixtures in signal processing is employing a blind source separation (BSS) algorithm. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) techniques are playing a prominent role in the sphere of multicarrier communication. A set of remedial solutions taken to mitigate deteriorative effects caused within the air interface of OFDM transmission with aid of BSS schemes is presented. Four energy functions are used in deriving the filter coefficients. Energy criterion functions to be optimized and the performance is justified. These functions together with iterative fixed point rule for receive signal are used in determining the filter coefficients. Time correlation properties of the channel are taken advantage for BSS. It is tried to remove colored noise and jamming components from themixture at the receiver. Themethod is tested in a slow fading channel with a receiver containing equal gain combining to treat the channel state information values. The importance is that, these are quite low computational complexity mechanisms.

  • Spread spectrum method gurantees good performance in digital communication system under multi-path interference and jamming signals. The purpose of this paper is to develop the wireless modem using DS/SS techinque. The transceiver consists of a spread spectrum DQPSK transmitter and a mtching receiver. The system operates with the chipping rate set to 4 Mcps and the number of chips/symbol at 64, making the data rate 62.5 Kbps using QPSK modilation. The receiver section uses a digital matched filter for fast acquisition of burst signals and uses the comparing the BER of proposed system iwth that of narrow bnd system under various additive white gaussian noises. It is showen that the proposed sysem has better performance than narrow band system. When jamming signals is added to the suggested DS/SS system, we also show that the experimental performance (BER) of the suggested wireless modem is almost same as theroretical performance.

  • OSPF is the optimized routing protocol in wired network and considered as a tactical routing protocol in wireless tactical communication network. However because it is designed basically based on wired environment, it runs inadequately in wireless tactical environment: noise and jamming signal. So, we proposed new OSPF cost function to develop active routing protocol in wireless tactical communication network. In redefined cost function, there are four parameters that are relative transmission speed, link weight, router utilization, link average BER(Bit Error Rate). These parameters reflect wireless tactical characters. Also, we remodel the option field in Hello packet. It can help user to periodically check the link state. From the simulation result, it is shown that proposed OSPF is better than OSPF in jamming situation and has accumulative delay gain with dispersion of traffic load in entire network.

  • In this Paper, we propose the algorithm to provide stable communication in OFDM system under the highly interfered environment by the same/different systems which use same bandwidth or other jamming signal, i.e., radar signal. The proposed Adaptive Subcarrier Assignment(ASA) method first estimates the received power of each subcarrier in the block or fin or OFDM receiver. Then we estimate the threshold level which is the average power of the transmitted OFDM signal with AWGN. The highly interfered subcarriers, which are greater powers than the specified threshold level, are rejected in the next transmission and the only non-interfered subcarriers are selected as the next transmission. This algorithm provides stable communication in any OFDM systems without changing the physical layer under the highly interfered communication environment. We estimated the status of the subcarriers based on the bandwidth and power of the jamming signal and showed the performance of the proposed algorithm by the simulation.

  • To efficiently manage forest resources, it is essential to deploy multiple unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with various sensors simultaneously. Consequently, the ground control station antenna should not only maintain continuous tracking of the target station but also minimize the impact of radio interference on other unmanned aerial vehicle stations. In this paper, we presented beam forming techniques based on the VPR algorithm within a ground control station constructed using a phased array antenna system. Through simulation experiments in diverse unmanned aerial vehicle operating environments, it was demonstrated that the presented method enables not only the continuous tracking of operational unmanned aerial vehicles but also the suppression of radio interference by establishing a continuous pattern null for multiple operational radio interference sources.
