높은 세장비의 Comb-parallel 타입 마이크로 액츄에이터의 개발 (Development of a Comb-parallel Type Micro Actuator with High Aspect Ratio)

  • Electrostatic actuation was adopted for ease of fabrication. We proposed a new driving scheme that uses the vector sum of force generated by comb-finger and by parallel plate. The moving and fixed electrodes are arranged to maximize the driving force. In this paper, an electrostatic field analysis is performed by Maxwell analysis tool for micro actuators. From the analysis, a comb-parallel type micro-actuator with 4${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ width, 6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ overlap and 45${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ height could be designed. In order to compare the new type of actuator with the conventional comb type of actuator, we arranged that both types have the same area and the same number of actuators. To make a high aspect ratio structure, we are developing fabrication process using SU-8 and electro-plating.

  • Recently the electrostatic 2-axis MEMS stages have been fabricated for the purpose of an application to PSD (Probebased Storage Device). However, most of them have low area efficiency, which is undesirable as data storage devices, since all of the components (springs, comb electrodes, anchors, platform, etc.) are placed in-plane. In this paper, we present a novel structure of electrostatic 2-axis MEMS stage that is characterized by having large area platform. For large area efficiency, the actuator part consisting of mainly comb electrodes and springs is placed right below the platform. In this article, the structures and operational principle of the MEMS stages are described, followed by design procedure, structural and modal analysis using FEM(Finite Element Method). The area efficiency of the MEMS stage was designed to be about 55%, that is very large compared with conventional ones having a few percentage.

Comparison of Some Selected Growth, Physiological and Bone Characteristics of Capon, Slip and Intact Birds in Taiwan Country Chicken Cockerels

  • An experiment was carried out to compare the body weight, shank length, rectal temperature, comb area, abdominal fat, blood parameters and bone traits of capon, slip and intact birds in Taiwan country chicken cockerels. One hundred and sixty-six Taiwan country chicken cockerels were randomly assigned to caponized or intact male groups. Caponized birds were surgically altered at 10 weeks old and raised to 28 weeks old. At 28 weeks of age, the capons were separated into capon and slip groups, depending on the atrophy of the comb and wattle in size. The results showed that body weight and shank length in slips were significantly (p<0.05) greater than in intact birds. Intact birds had the highest (p<0.05)feather scores and the lowest (p<0.05) rectal temperature. Compared with intact birds and slips, capons had a significantly (p<0.05) smaller comb area. Bone percentage, stress and cortical thickness, and bone and ash calcium content and plasma testosterone concentration, in intact birds were the highest (p<0.05) followed by slips and capons. However, intact birds had the lowest (p<0.05) plasma ionized calcium and phosphorus concentrations. Bone and ash manganese contents in capons were significantly (p<0.05)lower than those in others. These findings support the hypothesis that androgenic effects on secondary sexual characteristics are stronger than anabolic growth promoting response. Androgens can directly influence calcium fluxes in male chickens. Caponized caused a reduction in the bone percentage, stress, cortical thickness and bone calcium content.

동작기능성 향상을 위한 작업복 연구 (Functional Design Process of Coveralls for the Improvement of Mobility)

  • To accomodate workers with efficient mobility, coveralls were redesigned, construted and evaluated. In this study, especially, image processing techniques were applied to the evaluation stage, to quantify thE ease of body movement. For the initial observation stage, car-center workers were interviewed and their movements were videotaped. By analyzing the videotape, the area of stress and strains on the work clothes were marked on the figure chert and considered for the pattern making. 4DM cut pattern were applied to the upper part of the work clothes and other alternations were made throughout the problem area. Honey comb slashes were made on the problem area of the original and newly designed coveralls. Open areas of honey comb slashes due to body movement between the original and newly designed coveralls were analyzed by image processing techniques. Other objective and subjective evaluation of newly designed coveralls was compared with the original one. Overall evaluation of functionally designed coveralls was appered to be positive and the image processing techiques were useful methology to quantify the amount of stress in this study.

멀티미디어 환경에서 언더발코니 스피커의 역할 (The role of Under-balcony Speaker in the Multimedia Environmental)

  • 복층이 있는 공간의 음향 특성을 계산식, 시뮬레이션 및 실측을 통해 비교해 보았다. 언더발코니 스피커의 바로 뒤 지역은 메인스피커와 딜레이 차이가 생기며, 중/저음 부분에서 충분한 음압저하가 이뤄지지 않아 컴필터링(Comb-Filtering) 현상이 크게 발생하게 된다. 또한 언더발코니 스피커의 바로 하부 지역은 스피커와 거리가 2~3m 내외로 언더발코니 스피커의 음압이 메인 스피커보다 커져 강대상과 음상일치가 깨지게 된다. 언더발코니 스피커에서 5~6m 이상 벗어나는 지역은 음의 역자승법칙에 따라 언더발코니 스피커 하부 지역보다 10dB이상 차이가 발생하며, 메인스피커에서도 중/고역 주파수(Mid/High Frequency) 음이 유입되지 않아 주파수별 음압 편차가 크게 발생하여 집중도가 떨어지게 된다. 이러한 음향 문제를 최소화하기 위해서 메인스피커의 위치 및 출력에 따른 언더발코니 스피커의 적절한 배치와 출력이 요청된다. 발코니 하부 지역을 더 쾌적한 음향 환경으로 개선하기 위해서는 언더발코니 스피커에 대한 적절한 음향설계 방향이 제시되어야 한다.

다채널 24비트 델타시그마 ADC 용 콤필터 설계 및 구현 (Design and implementation of comb filter for multi-channel, 24bit delta-sigma ADC)

  • IoT 분야와 의료 측정기기 분야에서 여러 개의 아날로그 입력 신호를 동시에 디지털 신호로 변환하는 기술 요구가 늘어나고 있다. 기존 단일 또는 2개의 체널 방식을 이용하여 여러 개의 아날로그 신호를 처리하는 방식에서는 하드웨어 크기와 전력소모 면에서 응용 제한을 받게 된다. 본 논문에서는 여러 개의 아날로그 입력을 동시에 받아서, 각각에 대한 24비트 디지털 신호를 출력하는 다채널 24비트 ADC 용 콤필터 설계 및 구현을 기술하였다. 제안된 콤필터의 기능은 매트랩 시뮬레이션과 FPGA 테스트 보드로 검증하였다. SK 하이닉스 0,35㎛ CMOS 표준 공정을 이용하여 칩으로 제작하였다. 미분기/적분기 사용 또는 FIR 구조의 기존 방식과 성능, 칩 면적을 비교하였다. 제안된 콤필터는 6개 이상의 다채널 아날로그 입력, 저 전력 소모, 작은 하드웨어 크기를 요구하는 IoT 제품과 의료 측정기기 활용이 예상된다.

선형 유도결합 플라즈마 시스템에서 자장에 의한 플라즈마의 Confinement 효과에 관한 연구 (Development of Plasma Confinement by Applying Multi-Polar Magnetic Fields in an Internal Inductively Coupled Plasma System)

  • A novel internal-type linear inductive antenna, which we refer to as a double comb-type antenna, was developed for a large-area plasma source with substrate size of $880\;mm{\times}660\;mm$ ($4^{th}$ generation glass size). In this study, effect of plasma confinement by applying multi-polar magnetic field was investigated. High density plasmas of the order of $3.18{\times}10^{11}\;cm^{-3}$ could be obtained with a pressure of 15 mTorr Ar at an inductive power of 5000 W with good plasma stability. This plasma density is higher than that obtained for the conventional double comb-type antenna, possibly due to the plasma confinement, low rf voltage, resulting in high power transfer efficiency. Also, due to the remarkable reduction in the antenna rf voltage and length, a plasma uniformity of less than 3% could be obtained within a substrate area of $880\;mm{\times}660\;mm$ as rf power increased.

For obtaining large area efficiency, the actuator part consisting of mainly comb electrodes and springs is placed right below the platform. The structure and operational principle of the MEMS stage are described, followed by a design and analysis, the fabrication and measurement results. Experimental results show that the driving ranges of the fabricated stage along the x and y axis were 27$\mu$m, 38$\mu$m at the supplied voltages of 65V, 70V, respectively and the natural frequencies along x and y axis were 180Hz, 310Hz, respectively. The total size of the stage is about 5.9$\times$6.8mm$^2$ and the platform size is about 2.7$\times$3.6mm$^2$.

울릉도 남해역에 서식하는 키조개의 연중 번식주기에 관한 연구 (Study on the Annual Reproductive Cycle of the Comb Pen Shell, Atrina pectinata (Linnaeus, 1767) (Mollusca: Bivalvia: Pinnidae) on the Southern Coast of Ulleungdo Island, Korea)

  • Gametogenesis of the comb pen shell, Atrina pectinata (Linnaeus, 1767) (Bivalvia: Pinnidae) on the southern coast of Ulleungdo Island, Korea was assessed monthly (November 2013 to October 2014) using histology. Gametogenesis commenced in January when the surface water temperature was $12.6^{\circ}C$ and pen shells evidenced an early development phase with small oogonia from January to April, although few females exhibited ripe eggs in their follicular epithelium. In April, the oocyte diameter increased rapidly, and fully mature eggs appeared in May. First spawning males and females were observed in June as the surface water temperature reached $19.3^{\circ}C$ and July ($23.2^{\circ}C$) respectively. The spawning activity continued until the end of September. Histology indicated that the spawning peak of the females in Ulleungdo Island was July to August. During October to January, most of the pen shells were in spent and resting stages. Our data suggested that A. pectinata is a summer spawner, and their annual gametogenesis is closely associated with the seasonal variation in the surface water temperature. The present study is the first provided fundamental information on the life history of A. pectinata in Ulleungdo Island, and this can be put to good use in the management of this pen shell in the study area.
