Manufacture Research of Gradual Standard Color Chart for the Capacity of Reinforcement of Practical Color Coordinate Education (색채활용교육의 역량강화를 위한 단계별 표준색표집의 제작 연구)

  • This research designed usable standard color chart which was planned by hue and tone color system. This research studied 5 types standard color chart by designed tone map and preceding research. "Basic Color Chart 14 Colors" was planned for kindergarteners. "Primary Color Chart 63 Colors" was planned for schoolboys. "Middle Grade Color Chart 114 Colors" was planned for junior high school students. "High Grade Color Chart 152 Colors" was planned for senior high school students. "Hue and Tone 205 Colors" was planned for university students and general publics. These 5 types standard color chart were produced the trial color coordinate card and attached the Munsell notation which could reappear the spare color paper when needed. These 5 types standard color chart would be offered the data base for efficient color coordinate education as school age.

RESEARCH OF PROMOTION JUDGE SYSTEM USING AN IMAGE IN AGRICULTURE

  • Color chart area is automatically extracted in image that captured a crop such as fruits with the color chart, and an approximation formula is obtained for the change in feature value of the color indexes. Comparison is made with the color value of the crop area, and the growing degree is assessed according to the correlation. Using a compact PC equipped with the program, image of fruits is captured, and the output value obtained by the system is compared to the rating by expert. In the automatic recognition of the color chart out of doors, the complete color indexes is correctly acquired in 22 of 29 images. And indoors, they are correctly acquired in all of 34 images. In the color value judgment of the Japanese pear, indoors, 32 of 34 images is within 1.0 of the judgment error (compared the value read off by experts), the average error is about 0.5. These results indicate a practicable value.

Construction of Confusion Lines for Color Vision Deficiency and Verification by Ishihara Chart

  • This paper proposes color databases that can be used for various purposes for people with a color vision deficiency (CVD). The purpose of this paper is to group colors within the sRGB gamut into the CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ color space using the Brettel algorithm to simulate the representative colors of each group into colors visible to people with a CVD, and to establish a confusion line database by comparing colors that might cause confusion for people with different types of color vision deficiency. The validity of the established confusion lines were verified by using an Ishihara chart. The different colors that confuse those with a CVD in an Ishihara chart are located in the same confusion line database for both protanopia and deutanopia. Instead of the 3D RGB color space, we have grouped confusion colors to the CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ space coordinates in a more distinctive and intuitive manner, and can establish a database of colors that can be perceived by people with a CVD more accurately.   • Since the beginning of time people had been using color to mark territory and decorate their surroundings. Color was taken for granted today as an intrinsic part of every waking moment. In modern age, color education was very important curriculum of art and design. In general, color expressed by hue, value and chroma but used the tone on the design spot, therefore the tone concept education was very important to color education. In this study I planned the usable "Systematic Color Coordinate System 180" for general color education on hue and tone color system and manufactured the color papers, color chart and color code based on the system. "Systematic Color Coordinate System 180" was attached the Munsell notation and common color names which could reappear the colors when needed.

  • In this paper, we describe the color reproduction system for color images captured by digital camera. The system uses a color compensation chart to estimate the transformation between the colors in the image and the reference colors in the chart. The color reproduction process consists of two steps, i.e., the profile creation process and the profile application process. During the pro-file creation process, the relationships between the captured colors and the ref-erence colors are estimated. And the system creates a color profile and embeds the estimation result in the profile. During the profile application process, the colors in the images which are captured under the same condition as that of the chart image are reproduced using the created color profile. To evaluate the per-formance of the system, we perform experiments under various conditions. And we compare the results with those of widely used commercial applications.

  • In order to elucidate growth characteristics, physiological responses and leaf color changes of Physocarpus opulifolius 'Diabolo' and Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens'. These experiments were investigated under various shading levels. Growth of P.opulifolius 'Diabolo' was better at 30% shading level but physiological activities were double at strong light condition. Dark purple color was observed at 85% shading level and color was dim down when shading level decreased. Color was deep purple(RHS 202A) at 85% shading and green(RHS 139A) at 0%, These results imply that ornamental value was increased when shading level increased for P. opulifolius 'Diabolo'. Growth and highest physiological activity of O. planiscapus 'Nigrescens' were observed at 0% shading level and dark red color(RHS 202A) was also observed at 0% shading level. These results imply that ornamental value was increased when shading level decreased for O. planiscapus 'Nigrescens'.

  • The purpose of this study was to arrange the korean women's hair styles of the beginning of 21st century and make hair style image making chart to use personal image making consulting data through analyze actress hair styles of broadcasting TV drama. To accomplish this purposes, picked up the two most popular dramas per each broadcasting stations, KBS1, KBS2, MBC, SBS, in february 2004. and analyzed and arranged hair styles of actress and at the last made the hair style image making chart. The results of the research are as belows. 1. Hair trends of february 2004. were Modern Sophisticated, Active and Romantic. 2. The results of three classifications of hair style trends, form, color, accessory, were as belows. 1) Form : Layer, left part, straight, low wave, long hair, no volme, bang were in vogue. Generally, Modern Sophisticated, Active, Romantic feeling were in vogue. 2) Color : Black, brown, two tone color were in vogue. Generally Modern Sophisticated, Romantic, Active feeling were in vogue. 3) Accessory : Hair bands & pins were in vogue. Generally these gave the Modern, Active feeling. 3. Relationship between Soil Color Characteristics and Measurement Values by Colorimeter (토양의 색 특성과 색차계 측정치의 상호관계)

  • Soil color characteristics were measured by a optical instrument, colorimeter, comparing with the conventional Munsell color chart and related to the chemical properties of soils. Total of the 67 experimental soils were taken from tobacco fields that located at Cheongwon, Enmseong, Boeun, Goesan, Jincheon, and Chungju countries in Chungbuk Province having the 29 soil series including Samgag. The values of L, a, and b measured by colorimeter were closely related with hue, value, and chroma of Munsell color chart, respectively, indicating the quantitative measurement of soil color characteristics. The standard deviations in measurement for L, a, and b values was smaller in soil sample passed by 0.5 mm sieve than 2 mm sieve, suggesting that soil particle size less than 0.5 mm was better condition for colorimeter measurement. The values of L and b measured by colorimeter showed a tendency to decrease as increase of soil moisture content but nearly on difference with moisture condition for the value of a. However, correlation coefficient between air dry samples and wet soil samples(soil moisture retension of -10 hPa) for measurements of L, a and b value were more than 0.9 showing the same tendency in measurement. Consequently, air dry soil passed by 0.5 mm sieve was recommended to desirable conditions for stable measurement by colorimeter. The measured values by colorimeter were significantly correlated with organic matter, CEC, exchangeable Ca and Mg, showing the highest correlation coefficient between L value and organic matter.

  • The tongue diagnosis is a diagnostic method in the oriental medicine that uses shape, substance, coating, and movement of the tongue to determine the condition of health and disease characteristics in human. Since this information, however, could be affected by subjective sense and visual information, it is difficult to obtain the objective and reproducible results. This research aims at building a reproducible tongue diagnosis system using color chart that is attached close to the face contact region. The picture of color chart is taken simultaneously with a tongue and applied to color revision. The system, in addition, is focused on providing a clear tongue image through securing a sufficient photographing distance with a surface coating mirror. The lightning part which can suppress the reflection by sputum in maximum is implemented for the objectification and quantification of the tongue diagnosis system. The face contact region is designed for consideration of a testee's convenience. To evaluate the reproducibility of the system, the CVs (coefficient of variance, %) of $L{\ast}$, $a{\ast}$ and $b{\ast}$ of red, green and blue regions in color chart are calculated, respectively. The results of all CVs shows that the tongue diagnosis system is re liable and those consequences contribute to the objectification and quantification of the tongue diagnosis system.
