미세단백뇨를 동반한 인슐린비의존형 당뇨병 환자를 대상으로 한 영양 상담의 효과 연구 (The Study on the Effect of Nutritional Counseling in Diabetes Mellitus Patients with Microalbuminuria)

  • Microalbuminuria is a strong predictor of diabetic nephropathy and is also associated with increased mortality in people with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus(NIDDM) patients. Improved glycemic control and dietary protein restriction are recommended to retard and avoid developing microalbuminuria. The purpose of this study was to measure the dietary counseling effects for diabetes mellitus patients with microalbuminuria. To investigate the effects of the dietary counseling effect, thirty NIDDM patients with microalbuminuria were selected from outpatient diabetic clinic of Seoul National University Hospital for this study. None of them had evidence of renal and heart complications. For 24 weeks, they received individualized dietary counseling 3 times. The results of this study can be summarized as follows 1) Dietary protein and calorie intake decreased significantly from 79.8$\pm$29.9g/d to 66.6$\pm$16.5g/d, from 1845.4$\pm$631.9kcal to 1515.7$\pm$392.7kcal after dietary counseling, respectively (p<0.05). 2)The glycosylate hemoglobin level showed significantly decreased after dietary counseling(p<0.05). However there were no change in lipid profiles and blood pressure after counseling. 3) There was a significant correlation between the duration of disease and the amount of microalbuminuria. Any other cardiovascular risk factors, such as duration of diabetes, total cholesterol level and systolic blood pressure were not correlated with microalbuminuria. These results shown that dietary counseling can be used as an effective therapy to control blood sugar levels for NIDDM patients who are poorly controlled with microalbuminuria.

한국과 중국의 사범대학 평가제도 비교 분석 (A Comparative Study on the Evaluation System of Teacher's Colleges in South Korea and China)

  • 오늘날 교사 양성 질 관리 기제인 교원양성기관평가가 정착되면서 그 본질적 기능에 대한 의구심도 증폭되고 있다. 특히, 교사 공급 과잉이 발생하는 국가의 경우, 평가 자체의 적합성은 물론, 평가 결과의 활용이 예비교사 교육의 질 관리에 기여하지 못한다는 비판도 제기된다. 이러한 문제인식에서 본 연구는 중등교사가 과잉 공급되고 있는 한국과 중국의 사범대학을 대상으로 한 평가의 특징을 평가의 주체, 목적, 주기, 지표, 방법, 결과 활용이라는 여섯 가지 준거에 따라 비교분석할 목적으로 수행되었다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국과 중국의 사범대학 평가는 교원양성기관 교육 수준의 질 향상을 공식적 목적으로 표방하고 있지만 실제 평가 추진의 내용 및 결과 활용은 본질적 목적에서 벗어나 형식적으로 운영되고 있다는 공통적 문제가 발견되었다. 둘째, 평가 주체나 지표, 결과 활용 등에 있어서는 정부 주도의 관리 감독이나 양성 자원 통제 등에 치우쳐 있고 교사 직전교육의 질을 높이기 위한 사범대학의 질 제고는 뒷전이라는 상황은 교사 과잉 공급과 밀접하게 연관되어 있다는 점을 확인하였다. 이상 연구결과를 토대로 양 국가의 사범대학 평가가 본질을 회복하고 진정한 의미의 질 관리 기제로 개선되기 위해 필요한 정책적 제언을 제시하였다.

국내 의학교육 교수개발 프로그램 현황과 과제 (Current Status and Tasks of Faculty Development Programs for Medical Education in Korea)

  • This study aimed to investigate the current status of faculty development (FD) programs operated by medical colleges and institutions in Korea, and to suggest future-oriented directions for FD. A survey was conducted targeting medical colleges and medical education institutions that operate FD programs. We investigated the reasons for selecting topics, program themes, program operation methods, longitudinal program status, program improvement and quality control methods, the evaluation of the program effects, the outcomes and problems of the programs, and opinions on the latest trends. Twenty-nine out of 40 medical colleges and three out of six institutions responded. Topics were selected based on an analysis of medical education trends and the educational environment in both groups. The most common program themes were assessments in medical colleges, and teaching/learning and curriculum themes in institutions. FD was perceived to induce professors' and administrators' interest in medical education and improve the quality of medical education. The most common program method was workshops. Three medical colleges and one institution had longitudinal programs. Participant surveys constituted the most common method of evaluating programs' effects. Difficulties in publicizing programs and inducing voluntary participation were the most common problems in both groups. New attempts for FD were perceived as the role of external institutions. Based on the results, it is necessary to develop a framework and quality improvement indications for FD programs in the future, and FD programs are expected to be developed through new initiatives, such as longitudinal programs and those focusing on the community of practice.

부사관학군단(RNTC)의 원활한 정착을 위한 발전방안 연구 (A Study on the development plan for the smooth fixation of the RNTC)

  • 국방부는 2015년부터 부사관학군단(RNTC) 제도를 전문대학을 대상으로 다시 도입하여 5년 동안 시범 적용을 하게 되었다. 그 배경으로는 군의 우수 부사관 획득이 어려우며 인력 운영 수준이 저조하기 때문이다. 부사관학군단(RNTC) 제도 시행을 통해 군은 전문대학에서 다양한 전공 분야별 우수한 자원으로 부사관을 안정적으로 획득하길 기대하고, 전문대학은 입시와 취업에 긍정적인 성과를 기대하였다. 그러나 시범운영 결과를 분석해 볼 때 기대했던 성과를 거두지 못했다고 평가할 수 있다. 즉, 부사관학군단(RNTC) 후보생 모집 홍보, 선발, 학군단 운영, 군과 전문대학의 협조체계등에서 제도 시행의 목적을 달성할 수 있도록 제도의 보완 및 개선이 필요함을 발견할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 전문대학에서 부사관학군단(RNTC) 제도가 원활하게 정착되어 군과 전문대학에서 기대하는 성과를 얻을 수 있도록 제도와 운영시스템 보완을 위한 발전방안을 제시하였다.

농학계열 대학 졸업생의 농산업 분야 취업률 (Employment Rate of Graduates of Agricultural Science Colleges in the Fields of Agro-industry)

  • 농학계열 대학의 역할에 대한 논의들은 주로 농업의 본원적 기능인 농산물생산과 사회적 필요에 의해 새롭게 중요성이 강조되는 기능들로 구분되는데, 녹색혁명과 농업인 노령화가 심한 상황에서 농학계 학문은 현상유지 정도만이 필요한 분야로 바라보는 시각이 강하다. 그러나 농업은 전통적인 농산물 생산중심에서 벗어나고, 그 개념과 내용이 확장되면서, 농학적 배경지식이 필요한 분야는 보다 세밀해지고 확대되고 있다. 하지만 대학평가의 가늠자로 평가받는 취업률 조사에서 농학계열 대학의 역할이 반영된 분야는 영농인 육성으로 보는 시각이 강하다. 영농업종사자를 제외한 농산업부문은 농학계열 학문분야와 다른 모든 학문분야가 한데 묶인 공통의 일반산업부문 범주로 구성되어, 농산업부문에 취업을 해도 전공과 관련 없는 분야에 취업한 것으로 볼 수 있는 문제가 있다. 이러한 배경에서 본 연구는 농학계열 대학 졸업생의 농산업분야 취업상황을 중심으로 인력육성측면에서 농학계열 대학의 갖는 의의를 살펴보았다. 농학계열 학문연구 분야는 국가과학기술표준분류 중분류 16개 분야로 구분하고, 취업분야는 산업연관부문 통합소분류 168개를 활용하여 전국 37개 대학 220개 학과를 대상으로 2013년 졸업생의 취업상황을 조사하였다. 조사결과 전체 취업자 3명 중 1명인 33.0%가 농산업분야에 진출하고 있었고, 이 중 3.6%가 농산업분야에 창업하고 있었다. 특히 영농종사자의 경우 2013년 국내 대학졸업자의 0.1%만이 취업하는 것으로 조사되었으나, 조사결과는 13.3%로 농업인 육성에 농학계열 대학의 기여가 큼을 확인할 수 있었다. 연구결과를 통해 볼 때, 취업률 조사방식의 문제로 제대로 역할을 평가받지 못하고 있는 것으로 보이나, 농학계열 대학의 농업, 농산업분야에 대한 기여를 확인할 수 있었다.

남학생의 간호학과 적응과정 (The Adaptation Process of Male Students in Colleges of Nursing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the adaptation process of male students in colleges of nursing. Method: The data were collected by individual in-depth interview with 12 male students in their final year of nursing and were analyzed using grounded theory methodology. Results: Male nursing students were experienced a process of 'Come into the world again through overcoming gender differences'. 'The adaptation process advanced in 4 stages, 'introduction period' 'shaking period' 'meditation period' and 'adjustment period' Conclusion: Specific strategies should be developed to aid the adaptation of male students in colleges of nursing.

Radiographic features of plasma cell leukemia in the maxilla: A case report

  • Plasma cell leukemia (PCL) is an aggressive form of multiple myeloma where there is hematogenous spread of abnormal plasma cells into the periphery. This is opposed to multiple myeloma, where the abnormal plasma cells stay in the bone marrow. PCL is more common in males than females, and is also more common in African-Americans than Caucasians. Signs and symptoms of PCL include, but are not limited to, renal insufficiency, hypercalcemia, anemia, lytic bone lesions, thrombocytopenia, hepatomegaly, and splenomegaly. Here, we discussed a case of a 71-year-old Caucasian female recently diagnosed with primary PCL with radiographic features of this disease throughout the body, with an emphasis on the maxillofacial skeleton and relevance from a dental standpoint.

미국의 해기사 교육제도와 취업현황에 관한 연구 (A Study on the U.S. Maritime Education Methodology and Engagement Status for the Graduates from Maritime Colleges)

  • This paper presents the educational methodology shipboard training methods of Maritime Colleges in U.S.A. and the fields of engagement in business of the graduates from them. There are two Maritime Academies, i.e. U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) and U.S. Coast Guard Academy, which are supported by federal government and six Maritime Colleges operated by each State. Maritime Administration (MARAD) in the Department of Transportation (DOT) supports the training of merchant marine officers and crew members with a focus on safety in U.S. waterborne commerce. The shipboard training methods are not unique, but have various process. One is continuous sea term training onboard during sophomore (100 days) and junior year (200 days) in case of USMMA, the other is summer sea term training onboard every three months during freshman, sophomore and junior years in case of SUNY Maritime College. They offer also one month ship simulator training ashore. The employment status for the 1999 year graduates from USMMA shows 43 percent in the field of maritime afloat, 34 percent of maritime ashore, 22 percent of active duty military and 1 percent of others.

공학교육인증의 단일인증프로그램 운영실태 및 효과분석 (Analysis of Operational Status and Effectiveness of Single-Track Accredited Program in ABEEK)

  • This study was conducted using the literature review and survey research to analyze the operational status and effectiveness of the single-track accredited program, which has been mandatory since 2016. The research targets to achieve the purpose of the study were the nationwide engineering education accreditation system operating colleges, departments, and engineering education innovation centers. Finally, 183 copies were collected from faculty members at 69 colleges and 554 copies at the department level. As a result of the survey, the college recognized more positively about the operation of the single-track accredited program, and more than 50% of respondents said that there were difficulties due to the operation of the system. The contents required were analyzed and presented. Based on this, the engineering education accreditation system, including the single-track accredited program, suggested the direction of support at the government level and the ABEEK level to better settle down in the field of engineering colleges.

국내 공학 교육통계 시스템 구축 (The Construction of Engineering Educational Statistics System in Korea)

  • Along with the industry growth, engineering colleges in Korea has have a quantitative growth. Many of the policy promotions and budgets for engineering colleges from the government are supported. And the various monitoring methods to verify their achievement have demanded. This paper deals with the construction of engineering educational statistics system in Korea. It named Korea Engineering Data Management System(K-EDMS). This system is based on the data mining tool and supports data-based decision making for an advanced engineering education service. This paper presents related researches of case studies. Then, we have designed K-EDMS, and constructed 157 cases for engineering colleges of the year 2014.
