After a longitudinal analysis of the data on the college entrance examination of students enrolled in the Department of Chemistry Education at Gyeongnam from 2014 to 2021, the effect on the academic achievement of general chemistry according to the type of college entrance examination was studied. And the impact on the academic achievement of general chemistry according to the type of admission screening in face-to-face and non-face-to-face teaching-learning was also studied. As a result of analyzing the academic achievement of general chemistry by admission process, students admitted through occasional screening showed relatively high grades of A and B at 88.7%, and the ratio of grades of 1~3 of chemistry I in high school was high. On the other hand, in the case of students admitted through regular admission, the ratio of grades of A and B in general chemistry was very high at 94.3%, and the ratio of grades of 3~4 in chemistry I of the College Scholastic Ability Test was high. As a result of analyzing the academic achievement of general chemistry by class type and admission process, it was found that the grades of chemistry I by face-to-face classes had an effect on the academic achievement of general chemistry in non-face-to-face classes. In both admissions, the academic achievement of general chemistry by face-to-face classes was relatively higher than that of non-face-to-face-to-face classes.
This study is to investigate the perceptions of high school teachers on the evaluation criteria of the college admission officer interview system and to suggest approaches to improve the interview system. The survey results of teachers' perceptions are the following. First, for 'potential' criteria, teachers consider challenging spirit and students' initiatives are important evaluation criteria. For 'personality' criteria, they contemplate that responsibility, community spirit and flexibility to resolve conflicts are important values. Further, views of life and creativity also need to be seriously considered in the screening process. Second, their satisfaction with the college admission officer system was relatively high (9.34 points). Last, in order to improve the interview screening system, teachers assert that the process to secure fairness is required. Based on the results, suggestions were made for ensuring expertise of college admission officer and improving the alternative policy of the admission officer interview system.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the convergence comparison of the stress, major satisfaction, career identity, and college adjustment of nursing students according to college admission process and grade. The 349 subjects were studying in the nursing department in the City P. And the data collection was carried out from April 2016 until May 2016. The data analysis was carried out with the frequency, the percentage, the ${\chi}^2$-test, and the ANOVA by using the SPSS 23.0 Program. Regarding the research results, first, there were no significant differences among the entire academic years according to the admission type. Second, regarding all the admission types according to the academic year, there were the significant differences among stress (p=.001), the degree of satisfaction with the major (p<.001), the sense of career path identity (p=.021), and the adaptation to the college life (p<.001). As a result, I propose that, based on these results of the research, as a strategy for reducing the stress and for improving the degree of satisfaction with the major, the sense of career path identity, and the capability to adapt to the college life on the part of the nursing students, a differentiated, customized educational program by type of admission and by academic year should be developed and applied.
Despite the government promoting women's participation in the engineering field, some statistics show that it has yet to be achieved. Potential reasons for this phenomenon include lower level of applications by women, or inherent gender gap in the professional field. Therefore, this study attempted to find impact of gender on college admission from the Lens Model perspective and Signal Detection Theory. This study consisted of three phases: identifying the necessary cues used in the admission process, analyzing existing data, and conducting two experiments to identify the effect of gender on admission decisions. Although the college application consisted of many cues, only five cues, school ranking, GPA, SAT score, resident status, and gender, were used to capture the officers' judgment policies for engineering admissions. Two experiments were conducted to investigate the impact of the gender factor in college admission. The enrollment officers first were presented with the existing data without the gender and asked to make dichotomous judgments. Secondly, the officers were asked to perform the judgment task with the gender cue present. Results showed that the gender did not play an important role in the judgments as expected. However, ideographical analyses on judgment strategies revealed that there were significant differences between the admission officers. Possible training implications are discussed.

Purpose: This study was conducted to develop standards ensuring nursing process-based care of patient admission and discharge, to develop a performance measurement tool evaluating the care applied according to the standards, and finally to determine validity of the standards and the tool. Methods: The standards and the tool were reviewed by a panel of experts and refined based on the panel's suggestions. Validity of the standards and the tool were examined through surveying a total of 302 hospital nurses. Results: The mean validity scores of the performance measurement standards and the tool were 4.11 and 4.09, respectively, out of 5.00. So the performance measurement standards and the tool in this study were found to be acceptable in evaluating quality of nursing care provided at patient admission and discharge. Conclusion: This result indicates that the performance measurement standards and the tool developed in this study are valid instruments to monitor and improve quality of nursing care for patient admission and discharge.
The purposes of this study are to analyze the higher education admission policy of France and to draw policy implications for Korea. For this study, literature reviews and interviews (face-to-face, email, telephone) were adopted for main research methods. The major findings were as follows: First, baccalaur?at diploma is necessary for higher education admission in France but each higher education has different admission policy according to their legal status. University has open enrollment policy and has no student selection process. Other higher institutions such as grands ?coles select students based on students' academic achievements. Second, baccalaur?at is national diploma which shows successful conclusion of the upper secondary education and gives right of access to higher education. This diploma is awarded to candidates who have passed a series of standardized written and oral tests drawn up at national level (10/20points). Third, students' academic achievements in high schools are major criteria for admission for higher institutions which has student selection process. Fourth, entrance exams implemented at college level are various according to higher institution. Last, 'Admission Post-bac-APB' site is used to support and facilitate the whole admission process. Based on these findings, several policy implications were suggested.
This study was to identify the relationship between personality type, college admission SAT scores and GPA scores of student nurses. Method: The data was collected from 270 student nurses enrolled in a baccaleaureate program in Seoul. MBTI was used to identify students' personality and SAT score and GPA score were collected over 4 years. The collected data was analyzed by using SPSS Win. package. Result: 1. There were slightly more extrovert (E) type (54.4%) students than the introvert (I) type; more sensing (S) type (71.1%) than the intuitive (N) type. 2. The introvert type students had significantly higher SAT scores than those of the extrovert type (p=.002). 3. The judging type students had significantly higher GPA scores throughout their college years than the perceiving type. 4. There was no statistically significant relationship between SAT and GPA scores. SAT scores did not accurately predict students' academic achievement in college in this sample. Conclusion: The distribution of the personality types in the sample was different from the general population which may suggest that college admission criteria is biased toward certain personality type. Since different personality types process information and cope with the outside world differently, effective teaching strategies need to be considered for each class.
Multiple cohorts (e.g., current students and graduates) were formed to collect information on the entire educational process from admission to graduation regarding students' educational performances at Kosin University College of Medicine. Data that had already been collected and analyzed by different committees for different purposes were grouped into a more systematic and comprehensive system called the cohort system, enabling the necessary data to be collected promptly and analyzed in accordance with the purpose of providing meaningful information in each area of the educational process. Therefore, comprehensive cohort data that can be used for mission statement revision, curriculum development and improvement, student counseling, and student selection were established and utilized. The cohort data were collected from performance evaluation indicators including self-evaluation surveys, evaluation tools for learning outcomes, academic achievement, results of the Korean Medical Licensing Examination, and career placement. Based on the results obtained by analyzing cohort data, a comprehensive cohort report has been published. The data analyzed through the cohort were reported to each committee and used in various ways. Currently, however, only some data have been analyzed and used. In the future, after complete data collection, the cohort data can be used as meaningful basic data for achieving the institution's mission and educational goals, developing and improving the curriculum, counseling students, and selecting students through the analysis of learning performance data from student admission to graduation and after graduation.
The study conducted Comparative Analysis on the difference of College Scholastic Ability Data divided by type of admission process through the mileage program. Analysis result in following sequence. Leadership and relationships : CSAT(CSAT) > TOSR(subject), CSAT(CSAT+TOSR) is lower than each types ; mainly TOSR(total), TOSR(subject), CSAT(CSAT). Global : CSAT(CSAT+TOSR) & CSAT(CSAT) is higher than mainly TOSR(total) & TOSR(subject). Career and job search : TOSR(total) & TOSR(subject) is higher than mainly CSAT(CSAT+TOSR). Sum of mileage score : CSAT(CSAT) is higher than TOSR(subject) & CSAT(CSAT). Given this as a result, If you look simply at the activities of joint participation of leadership and relationships, student of mainly TOSR(total) admission do well college life with existing research. The purpose of this study was to develop Intensive Care Unit (ICU) admission and discharge criteria that would lead to the appropriate utilization of ICU resources and nursing services. For this study, a conceptual framework was developed through a review of the literature. Then in order to identify the overall health condition of patients in the ICU, and to draw up preliminary criteria, the medical records of 58 patients who were admitted to the ICU of Y Medical Center in Seoul between March, 1999 to February, 2000 of were analyzed. Two expert validity tests were done for the preliminary criteria for admission and discharge with 21 patients over 18 years of age who were admitted patients and for 12 patients who were discharged between May 30, 2000 and June 5, 2000 a clinical validity test was also done. After this process, the final admission and discharge criteria were developed. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. After a review of the literature, there were 9 categories for admission criteria cardiologic, gastrointestinal, neurologic, endocrine, post-op care of major surgery, vital signs, laboratory values, and a category of miscellaneous items. Discharge criteria had 3 categories which were vital signs, laboratory values, and a category of miscellaneous items. 2. From the medical records of the 58 patients who were admitted to the ICU, 45 items for preliminary criteria for admission and 17 for discharge were identified. 3. The two expert validity tests showed that of the 45 items 29 admission items received over 75 percent agreement. The 16 admission items which received less than 75 percent agreement were revised or deleted from the admission criteria. Of the 17 discharge items, 11 had over 75 percent agreement and 6 less then 75 percent agreement. These were revised or deleted from the discharge criteria. 4. In the clinical validity test, 14 admission items showed more than 75 percent agreement and 11 discharge items more than 83 percent agreement. 5. The final criteria consisted of 29 items for admission and 11 items for discharge. Since patients being considered for admission to the ICU have complex problems, there is a need to make the decision based on more than a single issue. This tool will insure that the ICU nursing care and treatment resources are appropriately used by allowing a multi-professional health team to make admission and discharge decisions.
