대용량 알터네이터의 코일덮개 설계 (Structural Design of a Coil Cover for High Capacity Alternator)

  • Recently, High capacity alternator are used fur some special equipments in industry. But, several serious problem are occured, especially, broken coil of rotor, caused by crash with stator on rotating the rotor. Although added coil cover thor protect coil of rotor, coil cover is broken. In this study purpose 2 step for corrected that problems. First, three dimensional finite element method far investigate what is most important point. For that purpose, performed stress analysis of coil and coil cover that modeling and finite analysis by ANSYS software. Second, Apply prestress when winding the coil on stator to modify direction of net force. Vector analysis is used for determine corrected prestress. Result of the analysis and prestress are reviewed.

Current Limiting Characteristics of Flux-lock Type SFCL according to Inductance Variation

  • We investigated the current limiting characteristics of flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) according to inductance variation of coil 2. The flux-lock type SFCL consists of two coils. The primary coil is wound in parallel to the secondary coil through an iron core, and the secondary coil is connected to the superconducting element in series. The operation of the flux-lock type SFCL can be divided into the subtractive and the additive polarity winding operations according to the winding directions between the coil 1 and coil 2. The current limiting characteristics in two winding directions were dependent of on the ratio of the number of turns of coil I and coil 2. The fault current increased when the number of turns of coil 2 increased in the subtractive polarity winding. On the contrary, the fault current decreased under the same conditions in case of the additive polarity winding.

A Design of New Surface Gradient Coil and Its Application to MR Computerized Tomography

  • A new three-channel surface gradient coil obtained by using numerical optimization and its application to MR computerized nomography are presented. The new surface gradient coil pro aided linear field gradient region more than twice wider compared with the t'irst surface gradi encl coil, removed torque and field offset, and reduced coupling between the surface gradient coil and combined surface rf coil. We realized the new surface gradient coil set with $30{\times}60{cm^2}$2 size, which generated more tharl 4G/cm with 100 amperes over a $4{\times}4{\times}4{cm^3}$ region with good linearity. The optimal geometries of the three-channel surface gradient coil and volun teer's high-resolution in wiuo spinal cord Images obtained by using the optimized surface gradi ent coil set are presented.

Fault Current Limitation by a Superconducting Coil with a Reversely Magnetized Core for a Fault Current Controller

  • This paper presents an experimental and numerical study on current limiting characteristics of a fault current controller (FCC). The FCC consists of an AC/DC power converter, a superconducting coil, and a control unit. Even though some previous researches proved that the FCC could adjust the fault current level, the current limiting characteristics by the superconducting coil should be investigated for design of the coil. In this paper, four kinds of model coils were tested; 1) air core, 2) iron core without any bias, 3) reversely magnetized core (RMC) using permanent magnets, and 4) RMC using an electromagnet. Based on a comparative study, it is confirmed that a RMC by an electromagnet (EM) could increase the effective inductance of the coil. In this paper, a numerical code to simulate the HTS coil with RMC was developed. This code can be applied to design the HTS coil with active reversely magnetized bias coil.

  • Eddy current testing (ECT) signals produced by a differential bobbin coil probe vary according to probe design parameters such as the number of turns, geometry and coil gap size. In the present study, the characteristics of a differential bobbin coil probe signals are investigated by numerical simulation in order to determine the optimum coil gap. For verification of numerical simulation accuracy, a specially designed bobbin probe of which the coil gap can be adjusted is fabricated and a series of experiments to acquire signals from two kinds of standard tubes with the variation in coil gap is performed. Then, the experimental signals are compared to the simulation results. Based on this investigation, a decision on the optimum range of coil gap is made. The theoretically predicted signals agree very well to the experimental signals. In fact, this excellent agreement demonstrates a high potential of the simulation as a design optimization tool for ECT bobbin probes.

"Leak Current" correction for critical current measurement of no-insulation HTS coil

  • Discrepancy between a power supply current and an actual "spiral" coil current makes the conventional 4-probe measurement of a critical current ($I_c$) of a no-insulation (NI) high temperature superconductor (HTS) coil inaccurate and time-consuming. This paper presents a fast and accurate approach for $I_c$ measurement of NI HTS coils. With an NI HTS coil energized at a constant ramping rate, a complete analytic expression for the spiral coil current was obtained from a first-order partial differential equation that derived from an equivalent circuit model of the NI coil. From the analytic solution, both spiral coil current and radial leak current can be obtained simultaneously, which enables fast and accurate measurement of the NI coil $I_c$. To verify the proposed approach, an NI double-pancake (DP) coil, wound with GdBCO tapes of $6mm{\times}0.1mm$, was constructed and its $I_c$ was repeatedly measured with various ramping rates in a bath of liquid nitrogen at 77 K. The measured results agreed well with the calculated ones, which validates the proposed approach to measure $I_c$ of an NI HTS coil.

고온초전도 선재와 정합회로를 이용한 RF coil 제작에 대한 기초연구 (Study on fabricated RF coil using high-temperature superconductor tape and matching circuit for low field MRI system)

  • The substantial improvement of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) can be achieved with small-size samples or low-field MRI system by high-temperature superconducting(HTS) RF coil. The typical HTS RF coil made of HTS thin film is expensive and is limited the coil geometry to planar surface coil. In this study, commercial Bi-2223 HTS tapes was used as RF coil for a 0.35T permanent MRI system. It has advantages of both much lower cost and easier fabrication over HTS thin film coil. SNR gain of the image obtained from the HTS RF coil over a conventional Cu RF coil at room temperature was about 2.4-fold and 1.9-fold using the spin echo pulse sequence and gradient echo pulse sequence respectively.

무선전력전송의 송전 공진코일에서 발생하는 방전현상 연구 (Study on Discharge Phenomenon Occurring in Transmitting Resonance Coil of Wireless Power Transmission)

  • 본 논문에서는 4-코일 방식의 자기공진 무선전력전송 시스템을 구현하는 데 있어서, 송전 공진코일의 끝단에서 발생하는 선간 방전현상을 연구하였다. 자기공진 무선전력전송은 급전코일, 송전 공진코일, 수전 공진코일, 부하코일로 구성되어 있다. 여기서 송전 공진코일은 급전코일에서 발생한 자기장을 증폭하여 전방의 수전 공진코일로 전달하는 역할을 한다. 큰 전력을 전송하기 위하여 급전코일에 높은 전류를 흘려주면 송전 공진코일 끝단에 높은 전압이 유기되어 선간 방전현상이 일어나게 된다. 선간 방전현상은 송전기 케이스를 손상시키게 되고, 송전기를 사용할 수 없는 상태로 만든다. 따라서 이러한 선간 방전현상을 제거하기 위하여, 선간 방전을 일으키는 송전 공진코일에 유기되는 전압을 분석하고, 해결 방안을 제시하였다.

헬리컬 코일 튜브에서의 층류, 천이, 난류 영역의 마찰계수에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Friction Factors for Laminar, Transition, and Turbulent Flow Regimes in Helical Coil Tubes)

  • The friction factors according to the flow regimes in helical coil tubes depend on the coil diameter, the tube diameter, and the coil pitch. In previous studies, correlations for the laminar flow regime in helical coil tubes have been proposed. However, studies on the transition flow regime and the turbulent flow regime are insufficient and further researches are necessary. In this study, characteristics of the friction factors for the laminar, transition and turbulent flow regimes in helical coil tubes were experimentally investigated. The helical coil tubes used in the experiments were made of copper. The curvature ratios of the helical coil tubes, which means the ratio of helical coil diameter to inner diameter of the helical coil tube are 24.5 and 90.9. Experiments were carried out in the range of $529{\leq}Re{\leq}39,406$ to observe the flows from the laminar to the turbulent regime. The friction factors were obtained by measuring the differential pressures according to the flow rates in the helical coil tubes while varying the curvature ratios of the helical coil tubes. Experimental data show that the friction factors for the helical coil tube with 24.5 in the curvature ratio of the helical coil tube were larger than those in the straight tube in all flow regimes. As the curvature ratio of the helical coil tube increases, the friction factor in turbulent flow regime tends to be equal to that of the straight tube. In addition, it was confirmed that the transition flow regimes in the helical coil tubes were much wider than those in the straight tube, also the critical Reynolds numbers were larger than those in the straight tube. The results obtained in this experimental study can be used as basic data for studies on the water hammer phenomenon in helical coil tubes.

고해상도 피부영상을 얻기 위한 Surface Coil의 예비연구 (Preliminary Study of RF Surface Coil to Get High Resolution Skin Image)

  • 국내의 MR영상 기술에 있어서 피부영상 및 MR Microscopy에 대한 연구는 있었지만 그 성과는 크게 만족스럽지 못했다. 본 연구는 고해상도 피부 영상을 얻기 위한 Surface coil을 구상하여 제작하고 임상용 MRI 시스템에서 영상을 얻었다. 그러나, 이러한 초기 영상으로부터 시작하여 피부영상 및 미세구조 영상을 얻는 데는 상당한 기술적 제한이 따른다. 기존의 volume형 RF coil보다 surface coil이 비록 자기장 균질도는 떨어지나 우수한 SNR을 얻을 수 있어, 개선의 방향을 coil의 형태를 조정함으로써 고해상도의 영상을 얻을 수 있다. 따라서 Surface coil 제작의 그 첫 단계인 surface coil의 구조에 따른 자기장 분포를 시뮬레이션함으로써 surface coil을 제작하는데 있어 주요 참고자료가 될 것이다.
