Appreciating the aspect of modem architecture requires not only the comprehension of the nature of design and architects' ways of thinking and expression but also observers' views on buildings and their perceptive/cognitive stages. This calls for an in-depth study on the "system of phenomenological perceptions" that works as a new architectural experience system. The system of phenomenological perceptions makes it possible to specify the individual process of understanding architecture, that is, hands-on experiences, participations, feelings, perceptions, and cognition. The value of user experience and cognition has been emphasized by philosophical and aesthetical concepts as well. Therefore, in order to better appreciate the modern architecture, this study suggests theoretical consideration to "orientation and event" that are crucial elements in understanding a phenomenological view and materializing actual space formation. This offers the cognitive system with which we analyze modem architecture and comprehensive expressional methods. In other words, this study contemplates the system of phenomenological perceptions from an existential spatial perspective by structurizing the system of the orientation and the event in order to segmentalize users' current locations, potential directions, the relations with spaces, continual vie'wpoints as well as buildings' functions and interior and exterior division. The system of phenomenological perceptions helps understand and systemize modern architecture through a system based on relations between sensation, perception, cognition, sensitivity, and rationality. This creates a new cognitive system employing the concept of the orientation and the event, which is different from a normal cognitive system basing on the sense of vision. When observers appreciate space, they tend to relate the space to a certain event and to remember their experiences in it. During the process, they draw borders of the space in which the event takes place and give shape to their experiences including actions, movements, cognition and sensation. The process leads to the formation of "placeness," and here, the concept of the orientation comes in as the location and the center of the placeness. This study proves that a determined orientation coupled with individual experience and events settles the place ness; detailed elements in the cognitive system have close relations with one another; the orientation, actions, events, and places are the factors that materialize observers' architectural experience.
Children likes to play and learn by playing at anywhere as a psychological trait. Children's museum is designed for limited age of 'children,' they learn more actively by playing at the museum with interactive display. In this paper, we analyze Movement of Based on the Psychological Characteristics of Children and Analysis of Preferred Experience of Children's Museum according to Piaget's cognitive development process. It is significant study to investigate user's needs space proposal by grasping user's mentality. After itinerary tracking, we found children's preferred and non-preferred experience displays and as a result, we divided children's Museums into three types, M museum is represented by preoperational period, called 'Go around play' type ; Y museum is represented by 'concrete operational period', called 'Smart road play' type ; and H museum is represented by 'formal operational period' called 'Open search play' type. The conclusions are children's cognitive development stages depending on the age discrimination that the development of play, and preferred plays are different by children cognitive development process. In order to take advantage of children playing in the children's museum by taking into account the developmental aspects will have to be designed. Efficient for viewing by age should be different on the basis. This study has shown that, when planning a children's museum, Planners should discriminate the movements of children and analysis of preferred experience of children's museum according to three museum types friendly to children's cognitive development process.
Cognitive-behavioral approach to two cases with chronic headache was presented. Cognitive-behavioral interventions focus on indirectly altering symptom-related physiological activity by changing the way patients cope with headache-eliciting stressors. This treatment focuses directly on the patients' cognitive and behavioral changes. Cognitive-behavioral treatment can be divided into three phases Education, self-monitoring, and problem-solving or coping-skills training. Literature reviews on the follow-up evaluation of therapeutic effectiveness revealed that cognitive-behavioral treatment is effective in the management of chronic headache.
The purpose of this study was to examine the predictors of burnout among informal caregivers of older adults. One hundred thirty seven caregivers who had provided care to older adults over 60 years of age for more than one month were included in the study. Most of the caregivers were white (91%) and female (78%). Mean ages of the caregivers were 64 years and 78% of them were married. Seventy percent of the older adults suffered from Alzheimer and related disease. In this study, caregivers reported that they experienced burnout once a month. The scores of emotional exhaustion and reduced personal accomplishment of the caregivers were in the moderate burnout range. To examine the predictors of burnout, discriminant analysis was used. Caregivers were divided by two groups based on the sum of scores (cutpoint=6) on three dimensions of burnout after each dimension was categorized into high(3), moderate(2), and low(1). Nine predictors were included in the analysis : Caregiver's age, employment status, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) of the older adult, presence of dementia of the older adult, caregiver's empathy toward the older adult (emotional and cognitive), and 3 coping strategies (negative, problem-focused, cognitive reconstructioning). Caregivers who reported high burnout showed higher cognitive empathy toward the older adults than those who showed low burnout. Caregivers who experienced high burnout used negative coping more often, and cognitive reconstructioning coping and problem focused coping less often than their counterparts. Wilks' Lambda was .78 indicating that differences between the two groups were significant. Cognitive empathy and cognitive reconstructioning coping showed high standardized canonical discriminat function coefficients over .40. Discriminant function with 9 predictors correctly classified 71% of the sample. In conclusion, informal caregivers also experienced certain level of burnout. Cognitive empathy and coping strategies predicted burnout experience of the caregivers. Based on this study, nursing intervention to the informal caregivers to improve their cognitive empathy toward the older adults and to modify their coping strategies in a way to reduce burnout experience can be applied. Further research to develop effective nursing interventions for the purpose of reducing burnout experience by modifying predictors was suggested.

Purpose: This study investigates causal relationships among brand experience, perceived value and brand support behavior in both Chinese and Korean consumers, and also examines the moderating effects of interaction with customers in the relationships between brand experience and perceived value. Research design, data and methodology: Three research were presented and examined empirically in this study. First research question is about relationships among brand experience, perceived value and brand support behavior. Second is about the moderating role of interaction with customers and third is about the differences in the causal relationships between China consumers and Korean consumers. A total of 377 samples who had visited theme parks in China and Korea were surveyed. Results: Sensory experience, emotional experience, and cognitive experience have significant causal relationships with perceived value in Both Chinese and Korean consumers. Perceived value has a positive effect on brand support behavior and interaction with customer has a moderating effect between brand experience variables and perceived value in Both Chinese and Korean consumers. Second, the causal relationship between behavioral experience and perceived value is not significant in Both Chinese and Korean consumers. Third, there were significant differences in the effects of emotional experience and cognitive experience on perceived value between Chinese consumers and Korean consumers. Conclusions: Managers of theme park industry should design experience programs considering various brand experience variables for both Chines consumers and Korean consumers. Second, it is necessary to raise the level of customer interaction between employees and customers.
The purpose of this study is to propose a space design plan for brand experience that can enhance consumer satisfaction and brand awareness by conducting a survey on the consumer satisfaction with space expression methods in an eyewear flagship store. Through theoretical review, brand experience was defined as the 'process and outcome of experiences caused by stimulations associated with the brand in a series of processes. After reviewing previous studies, 5 elements of brand experience such as the sensory, emotional, behavioral, cognitive and relational experiences were extracted. Upon deriving a checklist through these elements, a survey was conducted. The analysis of the survey showed that the process composed of cognitive experiences that promoted to remember the brand was intensively expressed in spaces. Thus, the results of this study are as follows. First, the process composed of cognitive experience should be applied with a higher priority to increase brand awareness, and such a process accompanied by the behavioral and sensory experiences. Second, beyond a simple visual experience, various senses such as olfactory and auditory senses should be stimulated, and behavioral experience provided as an experience factor. Third, brand image and sales spaces should be composed under a single theme with a connectivity. Fourth, in external spaces, the curiosity of consumers should be stimulated with a theme matching the brand image. Fifth, it was found that the visitor satisfaction was higher when formative elements consisted of not only static but also dynamic features. Sixth, among the elements of brand experience, emotional experience should be improved to complete the 'process and outcome of experiences'. It is considered that further studies are needed, which expand the cases of eyewear flagship stores not only in Korea but also overseas, and propose more specific plans and design strategies through in-depth interview methods in the future.
Reexamining Brecht's theoretical hypotheses in terms of cognitive science, this essay arrived at several temporary interpretations. Cognitive science implies that empathy can precede the rational understanding in Verfremdungseffekt. The spectator tends to simulate the unfamiliar incident and character and feels the consequential embodied emotion that leads to the cognitive understanding. The similar situation can be found in social gestus. According to cognitive science, gesture(social gestus) is simulated in the mirror-neuron of spectator, arousing consequently the embodied emotion that triggers the succeeding understanding. The spectator apts to experience and feel physically the moving gesture before decoding it as a social signification. Brecht's intention that attempts to reveal the duality of actor and character by eliminating the fourth wall is negated by cognitive science. According to the theory of conceptual blending, the spectator under the eliminated fourth wall mixes actor and character, and simulates this blending image so that he experiences it imaginatively. As such, another kind of illusion can be formed when a fourth wall is collapsed. Meanwhile, the critical thinking of spectator Brecht wanted can be hard to occur during the performance. It is necessary for the spectator to recollect the bygone dialogue and action in terms of social context as if he presses the pause, stopping the playback while watching a play in video. In this respect the social meaning Brecht intended can be achieved more effectively by the stop motion like tableau. It would not only give the time for the spectator to consider the implied social signification, but also make him possible to decode a semiotic meaning as if interpreting a still picture. Or it can be delivered by the dialogue that expresses the playwright's critical judgement. In this case, the subject of critical thinking is not the spectator but the author. The alternative explanation that the cognitive science suggests illuminates theoretically the reasons why Brecht's theory fails to be realized in practice. In a sense, Brecht's theory is nothing but a theoretical hypothesis. It takes the premise that the emotion hinders the rational thinking, understanding emotion and reason oppositively like Plato. This assumption is negated easily by the recent cognitive science that sees the reason as a by-product of physical experience including emotion. The rational understanding, in this sense, begins from the embodied emotion. As such the cognitive science denies the dichotomy of emotion and reason that Brecht adopted. The theoretical hypothesis of cognitive science makes us recognize again the importance of bodily experience in theatre. In theatre the spectator tends to experience physically before decoding the intellectual meaning. The spectator Brecht wanted, therefore, is far from the reality. The spectator usually experiences and reacts physically before decoding the meaning critically. Thus Brecht's intention can be realized by the embodied emotion resulted from simulation. This tentative interpretation suggests that we need to pay more attention to the empirical study of spectatorship, not remaining in a speculative study.

For the purpose of enhancing the use of social service in classrooms, this research focuses on the relationships between presence and learning flow, key words in the analysis of college classes using Facebook. The results of this study are as follow. First, social presence(${\ss}=.33$, p=.000), emotional presence(${\ss}=.29$, p= .000), cognitive presence(${\ss}=.20$, p= .010) were found to be significant according to cognitive flow experience the result of analysis of multiple regression. all regression coefficients were positive. Second, emotional presence(${\ss}=.42$, p=.000) and social presence(${\ss}=.27$, p=.000), cognitive, presence(${\ss}=.17$, p=.015) were found to be significant according to emotional flow experience the result of analysis of multiple regression. all regression coefficients were positive. Third, social presence(${\ss}=.37$, p=.000) of the three variables were found to be significant according to behavioral flow experience the result of analysis of multiple regression.
As the game industry is steadily becoming the spotlight industry, the importance of user experience design in game industry is increasing. This study tried to approach game from the viewpoint of user experience design and aimed to analyze the onboarding process focusing on user accessibility and retention in an online game. First, through literature review, onboarding process was devided into three stages. Then each stages were analyzed into experience design, game design elements to derive the key UX factors. Second, based on the UX elements, the game experience and cognitive element analysis frame was presented. With this frame, five domestic online games were qualitatively analyzed and cognitive elements of each game's onboarding process were derived. Key cognitive factors in each stages were, selective attention in the discovery stage, working memory and active learning in the learning stage, and participation and motivation in the immersion stage. Finally, improvement direction were presented, focusing on the key cognitive factors. These studies highlight the importance of the user entry process in online games and suggests improvements to lower entry barriers.

This study examines the effects of children's play activities through forest experience on their parents' expectation and multiple intelligence improvement. To achieve this, an empirical survey was conducted by applying a structural equation model to 152 parents with children. As a result, first, physical and cognitive factors were adopted, and social factors were rejected in the factors that influence the physical, social, and cognitive factors of children's forest experience play activities on parents' expectation of children's safety activities and concern about fine dust. Second, their physical, social and cognitive factors affected their sociality among sub-factors of multiple intelligence improvement. Their social and cognitive spontaneities significantly affected their sensitivity and creativity improvements. Third, parents' expectation did not appear to play a significant mediating role in the effect of play activity through forest experience on multiple intelligence improvement. This study has confirmed that their physical and cognitive factors of play activities through forest experience are directly affected by their parents' concern about fine dust and expectation of their safe activities, and has suggested that their sociality can be thoroughly learned through various educational programs in daycare centers, which is somewhat far from their parents' expectation of their play activities through forest experience.
