Performance of Energy Detection Scheme with Multiple Antenna for Cognitive Radio Based Ad-hoc Networks (인지 무선 기반 애드혹 네트워크에서 다중 안테나 기법을 적용한 에너지 검출 기법의 성능)

  • Wireless devices can communicate between each other without existing infrastructure in mobile Ad-hod network. Ad hoc networks can be used under difficult conditions, where it is difficult to construct infrastructures, such as shadowing areas, disaster areas, war area, and so on. In order to support to considerable and various wireless services, more spectrum resources are needed. However, efficient utilization of the frequency resource is difficult because of spectrum scarcity and the conventional frequency regulation. Ad-hoc networks employing cognitive radio (CR) system that guarantee high spectrum utilization provide effective way to increase the network capacity. In this paper, to improve detection performance of the energy detection which is widely used in CR based ad-hoc network, we propose multiple antenna system for CR based ad-hoc networks.

Study on Case-Mix in Long-Term Care Facilities for Elderly (장기요양시설 노인의 환자구성에 관한 연구)

  • This study is about major symptoms of elderly and medical services for elderly in long-tenn care facilities. The subject of this study was 298 patients over 00 years old staying in two geriatric hospitals and two nursing homes. The symptoms and medical services were level of patient classification from RUG(Resource Utilization Group)-III which is applied for both Medicare and Medicaid for skilled nursing facilities reimbursement system in US and designed for measuring patient characteristics and medical staff time. This classification is explained by each patient resource(staff time) utilization level which is called CMI(Case-Mix Index). In this study, the symptoms and services were compared by facility type and they were categorized by level and compared by CMI. Major findings are as follows; 1. There were more elderly who have cognitive function problems in nursing homes than patients in geriatric hospitals. There were more patients with behavioral problems in geriatric hospitals than residents in nursing homes. These results were both statistically significant. 2. The patients in geriatric hospitals received significantly more nursing rehabilitation services, rehabilitation services and extensive services than residents in nursing homes. Other hands, special care services were provided significantly more to residents in nursing homes than elderly in geriatric hospitals. 3. ADL and depression variables had higher CMI when the symptoms were heavier condition. The CMI were not matched with levels of cognitive function problems and behavioral problems. 4. The CMI matched well significantly with levels of nursing rehabilitation services, special care services, and clinically complex services provided for the patient in geriatric hospitals and only nursing rehabilitation services in nursing homes. The CMI for rehabilitation services level and extensive services had regular trends. From the result of this study, the resource utilization level and services provided for elderly in each long-term care facilities were figured out. For the further study, it needs to have more concern about RUG-ill which classification variables were just analyzed.

The Effect of Education based on Simulation with Problem-based Learning on Nursing Students' Learning Motivation, Learning Strategy, and Academic Achievement (문제중심학습 연계 시뮬레이션 기반 교육이 간호대학생의 학습동기, 학습전략 및 학업성취도에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was conducted in order to develop an education program based on simulation with problem-based learning, to apply it to nursing students, and to examine its effects on the students' learning motivation, learning strategy, and academic achievement. The subjects of this study were 69 seniors majoring in nursing. Education based on simulation with problem-based learning was applied to the students from September to October in 2015, and then a questionnaire survey was conducted on their learning motivation, learning strategy, and academic achievement. According to the results of this study, the education based on simulation with problem-based learning reduced the nursing students' other-directed motivation (external motivation), increased their self-regulation motivation (identified motivation, intrinsic motivation), and improved their use of resource management strategies. In addition, academic achievement (academic performance, and educational satisfaction) was in a positive correlation with identified motivation and learning strategies (cognitive strategy, meta cognitive strategy, and resource management strategy). In conclusion, education based on simulation with problem-based learning was found to be an effective education strategy for enhancing nursing students' autonomous motivation and improving their use of resource management strategies. Thus, it is necessary to promote the application of simulation with problem-based learning in various care situations and to study factors and parameters influencing learning related variables.

The Effects of Social Capital on the Economic Satisfaction of Korean Retirees (은퇴자의 경제적 만족도에 대한 사회자본의 효과)

  • Social capital theory provides a robust framework for analyzing economic well being. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of social capital on the economic satisfaction of retirees in Korea. The data from the first wave of KLoSA(Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging) were used(n=1,628). SPSS 12.0 was used for descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The major findings were as follows: First, after controlling for gender, age, region, housing tenure, and personal income, the social capital of the retirees, including cognitive social capital(trust and reciprocity) and structural social capital(emotional and economic familial support, and a well-developed social network), contributes to increases in their economic well-being. Second, the degree of effect social capital has on well-being varied by gender and age; the effect was also different according to gender, regardless of the person's age. These empirical results provide a basis for the institution of policies that help bolster economic wellbeing for retirees by creating conditions that increase social capital in this group.

Fashion technical design education models applying the constructivism learning theory (구성주의 학습이론을 적용한 패션 테크니컬 디자인 교육 모형)

  • This study aimed to develop methods for technical design education that can be intimately connected to the industrial field. For this, technical design jobs performed in the fields of the domestic and foreign fashion industries and their required competences were examined, and educational methods based on constructivism were proposed. Korean fashion technical designers' works were identified, and then the fashion technical designer's responsibilities and qualifications were collected and analyzed from global employment sites. On the basis of the collection and analysis, hands-on staff members and education experts were interviewed about required competences for the actual business and possible suitable methods for education. The results of research showed that in the case of the US, job systems and relevant duties for technical designers were clearly defined by clothing brands, whereas in Korea, businesses were systematized around vendors, not brands, and as a result the businesses of technical package composition and specification proposals were not performed properly. This study organized the contents of technical design education into fit development and specification, the composition of technical design packages, the evaluation and approval of samples, fit schedule management and fitting, block pattern setting and pattern correction, sewing specifications appropriate for styles and materials, grading, technical terms, and production management. As for the technical design education models, the cognitive apprenticeship model, resource-based learning, the problem-based and anchored model, and the problem-based and resource-based models were proposed.

Effects of a Home Respiratory Management Program on Unmet Healthcare need and Healthcare resource utilizations for Patients applying Home Mechanical Ventilator with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (가정형 인공호흡기 사용 중인 재가 근위축성 측삭증후군 환자의 가정간호기반 호흡관리 프로그램이 미충족의료와 의료자원이용에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of Home Health Nursing based Respiratory Management Program (HHNbRMP) on unmet healthcare need and healthcare resource utilizations of patients applying the home mechanical ventilator in the home with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The subjects of this study were 40 patients placed in an experimental group(n=19) and a control group(n=21), respectively. This HHNbRMP based on Cox's interaction model was consisted of cognitive assent (education, specialized medical care, case management), internal motivation (airway clearance, thoracic and air accumulated exercise) and psychological response (meditation & active listening). The intervention was applied to experimental group during 12 weeks. As variables was measured at baseline, twelve, twenty-four weeks and healthcare unmet need, resource utilizations (admission, out patient department, emergency room) was measured at 24 weeks. The data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA and Repeated Measures ANCOVA. This intervention was not effective the unmet healthcare need. But the admission in to the hospital among the healthcare resource utilizations variables showed a significant difference at twenty-four weeks(t=4.17, p=.049). This results suggest that applying this program tailored to patients condition, utility of medical resource would be decreased, specially admission.

Development of Learning Strategy Scale for College Students (전문대학생을 위한 학습전략 진단 도구의 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop of learning strategy scale for college students. This study further classified several sub-areas and defined each concepts of learning strategy. Based upon the classification of each sub-areas, tentative test items were developed through the verification of validity by three professionals. A pilot study of the developed scale was administered to 239 college students. And the research collected major data from 1,012 college students. Data were analyzed to obtain item quality, reliability, and validity analysis. The results of this study were as follows. The scale for learning strategy was defined by eight factors and they were 'self-management strategy', 'examination-readiness strategy', 'cognitive strategy', 'memorizing strategy', 'reporting strategy', 'resource-utilization strategy', 'self-regulated strategy', 'cooperative learning strategy'. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis proved the eight factors in the learning strategy. And criterion validity evidence was also obtained from a correlation analysis of the level of academic achievement.

  • In this paper we describe an application of the lexical resource JurWordNet and of the Core Legal Ontology as a descriptive vocabulary for modeling legal domains. It can be viewed as the semantic component of a global standardisation framework for digital governments. A content description model provides a repository of structured knowledge aimed at supporting the semantic interoperability between sectors of Public Administration and the communication processes towards citizen. Specific conceptual models built from this base will act as a cognitive interface able to cope with specific digital government issues and to improve the interaction between citizen and Public Bodies. As a Case study, the representation of the click-on licences for re-using Public Sector Information is presented.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of human resource development policies and practices on social capital and organizational performance. To serve the purpose, we focused on the effects of communities of practice (CoP) to social capital and suggested best practices of CoP from the aspect of social capital. Specifically, we considered new kinds of social capital such as social innovation capital and social integration capital as well as traditional social capital classified into structural, relational, and cognitive capital, Where, social innovation and social integration capital represent corporate's social capacity to innovate and corporate social responsibility (CSR). And then we conducted a multiple case study on Yuhan-Kimberly, POSCO, and HIRA. From the result, we identified that CoP activities have a positive effect on social capital and organizational performance.

  • VTS에서 항해하는 선박들은 자율적인 행위자들로서 서로 영향을 끼치며 상호작용하는 한편 서로의 안전에 대해서 상호의존하게 된다. 복잡한 항해상황에서의 불확실성으로 인한 위험을 극복하기 위한 방안으로 최근에 상황자각 이론이 각광을 받고 있다. 하지만 다수의 선박들에 의한 개별적인 상황판단이 제대로 이루어진다 하더라도 동일한 상황에 대한 해석이 서로 다른 경우 사고로 이어질 우려가 높다. 본질적으로 VTS 항해는 인지 과업을 서로 도와가면서 항해하는 시스템이라고 할 수 있다. 본고에서는 팀 상황자각이 공통기반과 동일한 멘탈모델에 의해 성공적으로 이루어지는 과정을 논의하고, 상황자각 실패 사례를 통해 좀 더 구체적으로 살펴보았다. 또한 팀 상황자각과 관련하여 커뮤니케이션의 중요성을 강조하고 VTS 항해 상황에서 항해자들의 팀상황자각을 실질적으로 도울 수 있는 방법으로 '공동운용화면' 시스템을 제안하였다.
