수업컨설팅을 통한 고경력 초등교사의 과학수업전문성 변화 (Science Teaching Professionalism Changes of High-Career Elementary School Teachers Through Instructional Consulting)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) elements and the changes in the science lesson planning and implementation difficulties experienced by high-career elementary school teachers with over 20 years of educational experience through the instructional consulting case of the Seoul City Office of Education Scholarship Support Group in order to find implications on effective instructional consulting support plan for improving the science teaching professionalism of high-career elementary school teachers. The result of this study is as follows : First, the pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) elements on the science lesson planning and implementation difficulties experienced by high-career elementary school teachers with over 20 years of educational experience were related to teaching strategy and they experienced difficulties in lesson content organization using lesson model and experiment facilitation and questioning, as well as in the area of interest and motive management that are definitional characteristic of learner in the learner element. Second, as for the changes in the PCK through science instructional consulting, they recognized the importance of the designing and experimenting process as students become the subject in the experiment facilitation in lesson, and they ended up attempting the postscript for promoting the thinking power of students. In addition, it was found that not only the cognitive characteristic but also the definitional characteristic of learner is important in science lesson and that students' motive is also an element that needs to be continuously managed. Third, as for effective instructional consulting plan for enhancing the science teaching professionalism of high-career elementary school teachers, it was revealed that it is necessary to first develop lesson expertise improvement consulting program that takes into account of teaching profession advancement phase of high-career teachers, and establish instructional consulting system and human resource pool of high-quality consultants based on the administrative and financial support from the Office of Education. The academic significance of this study is in the fact that it examined and searched for support plan on science teaching professionalism of high-career elementary school teacher, but a more extensive and in-depth study is needed since there is a limitation in this study on the object of study and the period.

2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 <수학 II> 교과서에 나타난 수학사 활용 유형 분석 (An Analysis of the Patterns of Using History in Textbook Developed under the 2015-Revised Curriculum)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 <수학II> 교과서의 수학사 활용 실태를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 Jankvist(2009)의 수학사 활용에 대한 이유와 방법에 따른 수학사 활용 유형을 토대로 2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 9종의 <수학II> 교과서에 나타난 수학사 활용 유형의 분포와 특징을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 수학교과서에 제시된 수학사 과제가 대부분 정의적 도구로 사용되었고, 인지적 도구나 목표에 해당하는 과제는 소수에 불과했다. 둘째, 정의적 도구로 분류된 수학사 과제 대부분이 수학사나 수학자의 일화를 소개하는 것이고 수학자가 겪었던 어려움 등을 통해 수학의 인간적 측면을 보여주는 수학자 과제는 1개이다. 셋째, 정의적 도구와 목표로 분류된 수학사 과제는 모두 설명 자료이고, 인지적 도구로 분류된 수학사 과제 10개 중 2개는 설명 자료, 8개는 모듈 자료이다. 수학교육에서 수학사 활용의 중요성과 가치를 고려할 때, 인지적 도구-모듈 자료, 목표-모듈 자료 형식의 수학사 과제를 개발하고 이를 교과서나 수학 수업에서 적극 활용할 필요가 있다.

순열 조합 이해 과제에서의 안구 운동 추적 연구 (Eye Movements in Understanding Combinatorial Problems)

  • 조합(combinatorics)은 확률적 사고의 기초가 되며 정보, 과학 등 타교과와 연계성이 높은 중요한 영역이지만, 학교 수학에서 학생들이 가장 어려워하는 단원 중 하나이다. 본 연구는 순열 조합 문제의 구조를 나타낼 수 있는 표현식을 도입하여, 문제를 표현식으로 변환하는 대학원생의 안구 운동을 분석함으로써 순열 조합 문장제의 이해 과정과 의미 구조에 따른 난이도 차이를 조사하였다. 연구 결과, 연구참여자들의 순열 조합 문장제 이해 전략은 문제에 대한 수학적 모델을 내적으로 직접 표상하는 전략과 보기에 주어진 표현식과 문제를 비교하여 답을 찾는 전략으로 분류할 수 있었다. 전문가 집단인 연구참여자들은 대상들의 구별성, 중복가능성, 의미 구조에 관한 단어나 수치 정보 등 문제의 핵심정보를 빠르게 파악하고 주의를 기울였다. 의미 구조의 변환이 필요한 문제를 풀 때 학생들은 문제의 핵심정보를 더 많이 보고, 보기의 표현식을 더 오래 응시하며, 문제와 보기 사이의 비교를 더 많이 하는 등 복잡한 인지 처리와 연관된 안구운동 지표가 나타났다. 안구 운동 데이터는 문제 이해 과정에서 연구참여자의 수학적 인지를 분석하는데 유의미한 정보를 제공하였다.

알츠하이머성 치매환자와 건강한 노인의 일화기억 이미지 비교 분석 (Analysis of the Mental Images in Episodic Memory with Comparison between the patients with Dementia of Alzheimer Type and Healthy Elderly People)

  • 공간, 시간적 환경정보를 함께 저장하는 일화기억(episodic memory)은 알츠하이머병에 의해 손상될 뿐만 아니라 일반 노화과정에서도 손상될 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 인지기능인 일화기억을 내적회상 기법을 사용하여 평가함으로써 초기 알츠하이머성 치매 환자의 일화기억을 분석하고 평가하는 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사진이나 동영상처럼 뇌에 투사되는 피시험자 자신의 과거를 직접 회상한 이미지(the mental image)를 분석하는 새로운 방법을 사용하였다. 초기 알츠하이머성 치매환자3명, 경도 우울증 환자 1명, 대조를 위한 건강한 노인 2명에게 검사 당일로부터 하루, 일주일, 한달 전 그리고 원과거(remote)에 있었던 일을 회상하게 하였다. 회상된 이미지 안에서의 감정상태, 이미지의 색, 사건 발생 순서 등의 중점을 두고 피시험자의 응답을 분석하였다. 순행성기억(anterograde memory) 손상을 관찰하고자 피시험자에 그들이 검사 당시 재현한 모든 이미지를 검사 다음날 다시 상기하도록 요구하였다. 3명의 환자군 모두 회상한 이미지들 사건 발생순서에 맞게 정리하는데 실패하였다. 이들은 대조군과 같은 수의 이미지를 회상해 내었지만, 색이 선명하지 않고 사진과 같은 정적인 이미지를 회상하였다. 이러한 결과는 초기 치매환자가 최근기억(recent memory)을 화상 하는데 일차적으로 손상이 있을 시사하며, 또한 의미기억의 양적인 손상보다 질적 손상이 먼저 발생함을 보여주었다.

학습자의 인지수준 및 학습동기 유형에 따른 자유주제 과학탐구의 효과 및 탐구 단계별 상호작용 특성 (The Effect of Free-inquiry Science Activity and Characteristics of Interaction in Each Inquiry Steps by Cognitive Level and Learning Motivational Type of the Students)

  • 이 연구는 자유주제 과학탐구 과정에서 일어나는 인지수준 향상 정도 및 탐구단계별 상호작용을 분석함으로써, 자유주제 과학탐구에 대한 질적 이해를 돕고자 하였다. 자유주제 과학탐구는 인지수준이 과도기(2B/3A)이고, 학습동기수준이 심층학습형, 심층능력형인 학생들의 탐구능력 신장에 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 또한 학생들은 탐구과정 중 주제 및 가설설정단계에서 어려움을 겪으며, 자유탐구가 진행됨에 따라 논의의 기술은 증가하나, 상호작용의 질적 향상은 쉽게 나타나지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 심층학습형은 모둠 내에서 사고의 정교화를 촉진하는 역할을 하고 있었다. 심층능력형은 가장 주도적으로 상호작용에 참여하여 논의를 이끄나, 탐구결과에 대한 집착으로 과정적 측면을 소홀히 하는 경향이 있었다. 그리고 피상능력형은 하위수준의 상호작용이 많아서 논의를 심화시키지 못하나, 자유탐구가 진행됨에 따라 점차 상위수준의 상호작용이 증가하는 긍정적인 변화를 보였다. 이 연구로부터 자유주제 과학탐구 활동의 특성 및 자유주제 과학탐구 활동의 진행과 모둠구성에 대한 시사점을 얻을 수 있었으며, 이에 대해 논하였다.

이용자 중심 정보서비스와 Sense-making 이론의 적용 (User-centered information service and a n.0, pplication of sense-making theory)

  • We are seeing a shift of the focus of information service from system-centered(data-centered or intermediary-centered) a n.0, pproach to user-centered a n.0, pproach. Sense-making theory is one of the user- centered a n.0, pproaches. This study focused on user-centered information service paradigm concepts of Dervin's sense-making theory and interpreting sense-making theory in the practical context of library services. The sense-making theory is basically a cognitive a n.0, pproach to information-seeking, in that it recognizes information as something that involves internal cognitive processes. The user of information becomes the focus in this sense-making model. The sense-making theory sees information as subjective, situational, and cognitive. It focuses on understanding information within specific contexts and on understanding how information needs develop and how they are satisfied. It regards the user not as a passive receive of external information but as the center in a active, ongoing process of change. It related to the information needs of users. Dervin's method for studying information needs employs the 'situation-gap-use' metaphor. All information needs stem from a discontinuity or 'gap! in one's knowledge. Dervin believes that information needs can be addressed by understanding the process that each individual goes through in experiencing a gap, in trying to resolve it, and in gaining something (especially new knowledge) from the experience. Sense-making is a process; 'sense' is the product of this process. Sense includes 'knowledge'. However, it includes a host of other subjective factors that reflect an individual's interpretations of a situation including intuitions, opinions, hunches, effective responses, evaluations, questions, etc. For several reasons, however, difficulties are encountered if one attempts a more substantial assessment of the theory. First, it has not yet crystallized into a well-defined theory. Secondly, though the theory has aroused general interest, e.g. within LIS, detailed discussion of its strong and weak points is still lacking. A third source of difficulty is that the basic assumptions of the theory have been explicated metaphorically. If sense-making theory is to be really useful, it needs to be interpreted for library settings. But we have found no attempt to construct an information service based on the theory. Because the research tradition is still relatively young, there are many unanswered questions connected, e.g. with the design of information systems. In any case, e.g. intermediary access systems would be more efficient and effective it their planning could be founded on the user-centered a n.0, pproach.

편측 뇌손상 환자에서 특정 과제에 한정된 동측 상지의 운동 결함 분석 (Ipsilateral Motor Deficit during Three Different Specific Task Following Unilateral Brain Damage)

  • Impaired sensorimotor function of the hand ipsilateral to a unilateral brain damage has been reported in a variety of motor task. however, it is still the controversial issue because of the difficulty of detection in clinical situation, patients' variability(time after onset, contralateral upper extremity severity, other cognitive functions including apraxia), and the performed various motor task. The purpose of this study is to determine the presence of ipsilateral motor deficit following unilateral brain damage in three different specific tasks(hand tapping, visual tracking and coin rotation) compared with healthy age-sex matched control group using the same hand and to investigate the lateralized motor control in each hemispheric function. Findings revealed that stroke patients with unilateral brain damage experienced difficulties with rapid-simple repetitive movement, visuomotor coordination, complex sequencing movement on ipsilateral side. Also, Comparison of the left-hemispheric stroke groups and the right-hemispheric stroke groups revealed that patients with a left-hemisphere damage tended to be more variable in performing all of the three tasks. These results show that stroke patient with left hemisphere damage has more ipsilateral motor deficit, and the left hemisphere contributes to the processing of motor control that necessary for the executing actions with ipsilateral hand.

Virtual Reality Community Gait Training Using a 360° Image Improves Gait Ability in Chronic Stroke Patients

  • Purpose: Gait and cognitive impairment in stroke patients exacerbate fall risk and mobility difficulties during multi-task walking. Virtual reality can provide interesting and challenging training in a community setting. This study evaluated the effect of community-based virtual reality gait training (VRGT) using a 360-degree image on the gait ability of chronic stroke patients. Methods: Forty-five chronic stroke patients who were admitted to a rehabilitation hospital participated in this study. Patients meeting the selection criteria were randomly divided into a VRGT group (n=23) and a control group (n=22). Both these groups received general rehabilitation. The VRGT group was evaluated using a 360-degree image that was recorded for 50 minutes a day, 5 days per week for a total of 6 weeks after their training. The control group received general treadmill training for the same amount of time as that of the VRGT group. The improvement in the spatiotemporal parameters of gait was evaluated using a gait analyzer system before and after training. Results: The spatiotemporal gait parameters showed significant improvements in both groups compare with the baseline measurements (p<0.05), and the VRGT group showed more improvement than the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Community-based VRGT has been shown to improve the walking ability of chronic stroke patients and is expected to be used in rehabilitation of stroke patients in the future.

장루 복원 후 증상경험과 우울이 대장암 환자의 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Symptom Experience and Depression on Quality of Life in Colorectal Cancer Patients with Stoma Reversal)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate symptoms, depression and quality of life in colorectal cancer patients who underwent stoma reversal, and to assess the factors related to their quality of life. Methods: A descriptive study was conducted on 125 colorectal cancer patients who underwent stoma reversal in a tertiary hospital in Korea. Data were collected using the Korean versions of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer-Quality of Life Core 30 and Colorectal Cancer Specific Questionnaire 38 (EORTC QLQ-C30 and CR38), and the Hospital Anxiety-Depression Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analyses. Results: Participants experienced sexual problems, difficulties in defecation, and nausea/vomiting. About twenty-two percent of the patients were depressed and the mean score for global quality of life was $64.40{\pm}19.43$. The multiple regression showed that social and cognitive functioning, depression, and the location of the anastomosis were the important factors that made contributions to the quality of life in colorectal patients with stoma reversal. Conclusion: Our results suggest that symptom management and emotional support should be incorporated into nursing interventions to improve the quality of life in colorectal patients with stoma reversal.

The influence of task demands on the preparation of spoken word production: Evidence from Korean

  • It was shown in speech production studies that the preparation unit of spoken word production is language particular, such as onset phonemes for English and Dutch, syllables for Mandarin Chinese, and morae for Japanese. However, there have been inconsistent results on whether the onset phoneme is a planning unit of spoken word production in Korean. In this study, two sets of experiments investigated possible influences of task demands on the phonological preparation in native Korean adults, namely, implicit priming and word naming with the form preparation paradigm. Only the word naming task, but not the implicit priming task, showed a significant onset priming effect, even though there were significant syllable priming effects in both tasks. Following the attentional theory ($O^{\prime}S{\acute{e}}aghdha$ & Frazer, 2014), these results suggest that task demands might play a role in the absence/presence of onset priming effects in Korean. Native Korean speakers could maintain their attention to the shared onset phonemes in word naming, which is not very demanding, while they have difficulties in allocating their attention to such units in a more cognitive-demanding implicit priming, even though both tasks involve accessing phonological codes. These findings demonstrate that there are cross-linguistic differences in the first selectable unit in preparation of spoken word production, but within a single language, the preparation unit might not be immutable.
