In order to improve the quality of textbooks, this study analyzed seven informatics textbooks published based on the 2015 revised curriculum. Content analysis was used to analyze the organization system of these textbooks. Learning objectives of the textbooks were also analyzed according to Anderson's taxonomy of educational objectives. Furthermore, a textbook satisfaction survey, in which textbook selection criteria were applied, was given out to preliminary teachers. The results showed that the textbooks were similarly organized, centered on practice, activities, differentiated learning, and small group learning. However, the number of pages varies considerably for each chapter. After analyzing learning objectives of the textbooks, it was found that in terms of cognitive processes, 'understanding' (53%) was the highest item and 'analyzing' (16%) the second highest; in terms of type of knowledge, 'conceptual' (42%) and 'procedural' (31%) accounted for the two highest categories; in terms of cognitive domains, there has been a significant increase in 'analyzing' and 'creating' facets for learning objectives of these new versions of textbooks as compared to those of previously existed textbooks. In the satisfaction survey on a 5-point Likert scale, 'the accuracy and fairness of the content' had the highest points at 4.21 among four scale items. In this study, the improvement of the textbook is proposed based on the findings from this analysis.
Lavie's perceptual load theory (Lavie, 1995) proposes that the influence of distractors would be blocked as the load gets higher. Studies of perceptual load have usually adopted the flanker task, developed by Eriksen and Eriksen (1974), which measures reaction time on the target flanked by distractors. In the post-cueing forced task, participants should report the identity of the target cued later, and negative repetition effect (NRE) has often been observed. NRE means the effect that the accuracy of identification is worse when the target is flanked by the same nontargets than when flanked by different nontargets. This study has tried to check whether perceptual load has an effect on identification rate and NRE. Experiment 1 manipulated the similarity between targets and a distractor, and observed a tendency of NRE, but not the effect of perceptual load. Experiment 2 used 4, 2 (in two kinds of diagonal arrangement), or none distractors of the same identity to burden more perceptual load. NRE was significant and perceptual load showed significance but not a linear trend. Experiment 3 checked again whether NRE would be varied according to two levels of perceptual load strengthened by positional variability of load stimuli, but did not find the effect of perceptual load. It is concluded that perceptual load might have a limited effect on the early stage of perceptual processing due to divided attentional processing of the targets briefly exposed. Implications of this study were discussed.

Norman suggested spatial analogies for natural mapping between display and control. However the way of his methods in spatial analogies was not compatible with kitchen atmosphere. To solve those problems 1 suggested color coding . This study hypothesized that the mapping between burner and switch is realized by color coding. To testy the hypothesis 1 compared A group using general gas range with B group using color coded gas range. The result showed difference between A and B in accuracy ( F (1, 38) = 17.892, p < 0.01) and response time ( F (1, 38) = 6.726 p < 0.05). The result of this test is to certify that color coding affect peoples by presenting the difference accuracy and response time. As result this study presents that color coding can be compatible the product having importance to certify in the design process.

The purpose of this study was to examine the classification accuracies of ML, MAP, and EAP methods under DINA model. For this purpose, this study examined the classification accuracies of the classification methods under the various conditions: the number of attributes, the ability distribution of examinees, and test length. To accomplish this purpose, this study used a simulation method. For the simulation study, data was simulated under the various simulation conditions including the number of attributes (K= 5, 7), the ability distribution of examinees (high, middle, low), and test length (J= 15, 30, 45). Additionally, the percent of agreements between true skill patterns(true ${\alpha}$) and skill patterns estimated by the ML, MAP, and EAP methods were calculated. The summary of the main results of this study is as follows: First, When the number of attributes was 5 and 7, the EAP method showed relatively higher average in the percent of exact agreement than the ML and MAP methods. Second, under the same conditions, as the number of attributes increased, the average percent of exact agreement decreased in ML, MAP, and EAP methods. Third, when the prior distribution of examinees ability was different from low to high under the conditions of the same test length, the EAP method showed relatively higher average in the percent of exact agreement than those of the ML and MAP methods. Fourth, the average percent of exact agreement increased in all methods, ML, MAP, and EAP when the test length increased from 15 to 30 and 45 under the conditions of the same the ability distribution of examinees.
This study investigated the effect of 40% oxygen administration on the addition task performance in three levels of difficulties and physiological signals. Ten male and female college students were selected as the subjects for this study. The experiment consisted of two runs: one was a addition task, with normal air (21% oxygen) administered and the other was with hyperoxic air (40% oxygen) administered. The experimental sequence in each run consisted of Rest1 (3 min), Task1 (1 min, one digit addition task), Task2 (1 min, two digit addition task), Task3 (1 min, three digit addition task), and Rest2 (4 min). Blood oxygen saturation and heart rate were measured throughout the five phases. The accuracy rates of the addition task were enhanced with 40% oxygen administration compared to 21% oxygen. Difference in the accuracy rates grew higher with the rise of difficulty. When 40% concentration oxygen is supplied, blood oxygen saturation increased and heart rate was decreased comparing to 21%. This study showed that the supply of high concentration oxygen increases blood oxygen saturation, which in turns accelerates brain activation resulting from cognitive process and enhances arithmetic abilities. Particularly when difficulty is high, demand for oxygen increases and, as a result, the effect of high concentration oxygen becomes more significant.
Objectives : Trauma patients have attentional bias which enforces traumatic memories and causes cognitive errors. Understanding of such selective attention may explain many aspects of the posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) symptoms. Methods : We used the rapid serial visual presentation(RSVP) method to verify attentional blink in burn patients with PTSD. International affective picture system(IAPS) was used as stimuli and distracters. In the 'neutral test', patients have been presented series of pictures with human face picture as target stimuli. Each picture had 100ms interval. However the distance between target facial pictures was randomized and recognition of second facial picture accuracy was measured. In the 'stress test', the first target was stress picture which arouses patient emotions instead of the facial picture. Neutral and Stress tests were done with seven PTSD patients and 20 controls. In '85ms test' the interval was reduced to 85ms. The accuracy of recognition of second target facial picture was rated in all three tests. Eighty-five ms study was done with eighteen PTSD patients. Results : Attentional blinks were observed in 100-400ms of RSVP. PTSD patients showed increased recognition rate in the 'stress test' compared with the 'neutral test'. When presentation interval was decreased to 85 ms, PTSD patient showed decrease of attentional blink effect when target facial picture interval was 170ms. Conclusion : We found attentional blink effect could be affected by stress stimulus in burn patients. And attentional blink may be affected by stimulus interval and the character of stimulus. There may be some other specific mechanism related with selective attention in attentional blink especially with facial picture processing.

Early diagnosis and intervention of dementia is critical to minimize future risk and cost for patients and their families. The purpose of this study was to develop and validate Figure-Copy Test(FCT), as a new dementia screening test, that can measure neurological damage and cognitive impairment, and then to examine whether the grading precesses for screening can be automated through machine learning procedure by using FCT imag es. For this end, FCT, Korean version of MMSE for Dementia Screening (MMSE-DS) and Clock Drawing Test were administrated to a total of 270 participants from normal and damaged elderly groups. Results demonstrated that FCT scores showed high internal constancy and significant correlation coefficients with the other two test scores. Discriminant analyses showed that the accuracy of classification for the normal and damag ed g roups using FCT were 90.8% and 77.1%, respectively, and these were relatively higher than the other two tests. Importantly, we identified that the participants whose MMSE-DS scores were higher than the cutoff but showed lower scores in FCT were successfully screened out through clinical diagnosis. Finally, machine learning using the FCT image data showed an accuracy of 73.70%. In conclusion, our results suggest that FCT, a newly developed drawing test, can be easily implemented for efficient dementia screening.

Sleep apnea causes various secondary disease such as hypertension, stroke, myocardial infarction, depression and cognitive impairment. Early detection and continuous management of sleep apnea are urgently needed since it causes cardio-cerebrovascular diseases. In this study, wearable device for monitoring respiration during sleep using PVDF film was developed to detect vibration through trachea caused by breathing, which determines normal breathing and sleep apnea. Variables such as respiration rate and apnea were extracted based on the detected breathing sound data, and a noise reduction algorithm was established to minimize the effect even when there is a noise signal. In addition, it was confirmed that irregular breathing patterns can be analyzed by establishing a moving threshold algorithm. The results show that the accuracy of the respiratory rate from the developed device was 98.7% comparing with the polysomnogrphy result. Accuracy of detection for sleep apnea event was 92.6% and that of the sleep apnea duration was 94.0%. The results of this study will be of great help to the management of sleep disorders and confirmation of treatment by commercialization of wearable devices that can monitor sleep information easily and accurately at home during daily life and confirm the progress of treatment.

Spectrum sensing is a key technical challenge for cognitive radio (CR). It is well known that multi-cycle cyclostationarity (MC) detector is a powerful method for spectrum sensing. However, conventional MC detector is difficult to implement due to its high computational complexity. This paper pays attention to the fact that the computation complexity can be reduced by simplifying the test statistic of conventional MC detector. Based on this simplification process, an improved MC detector is proposed. Compared with the conventional one, the proposed detector has the low-computational complexity and sufficient-accuracy on sensing performance. Subsequently, the sensing performances are further investigated for the cases of Rayleigh, Nakagami-m, Rician, composite Rayleigh fading-lognormal shadowing and composite Nakagami fading-lognormal shadowing channels, respectively. Furthermore, the square-law combining (SLC) is introduced to improve the detection capability over fading-shadowing channels. The corresponding closed-form expressions of average detection probability are derived for each case by the moment generation function (MGF) approach. Finally, illustrative and analytical results show that the efficiency and reliability of proposed detector and the improvement on sensing performance by SLC over composite fading-shadowing channels.
I made a careful study of affective variables in foreign language learning Affective variables have not been adequately investigated in the study of second language acquisition. Egoism and inhibition are two egocentric factors which play important roles in foreign language learning. Three sociocultural variables. cultural factors, introversion / extroversion, and aggression may be keys to understanding the social nature of second language learning. And the emerging of cognition and affect in "cognitive styles", which vary within and among individuals, might account for varying degree of success in learning a second language. In the process of learning English. the students new to foreign language come to face the language barrier. though they express the deep interest and feel excited at the beginning stage. Of course, the several reasons can explain this fact. but more specially they can be explained in terms of such personal affective factors as age, aptitude, personality, and first of all, motivation. Also the socicultural factors between language and culture can be considered to the learner's aptitude toward the language. Affective factors of students are involved in personality. and personality and affective factors affect English learning. Affective variables of students affect the will to take part in English learning, and the rate of participation in English learning affect the fluency. If students feel inconvenience in English class, it is rarely that they run a risk. Students who do not run a risk in English class are short of spontaneous participation Consequently, it may have negative influence on the accuracy and the fluency of English. Therefore, teachers must be more influential in motivating students and specially attentive so that the students may not make the negative and inhibitive language learning attitude.
