A Study on a Phase-encoded Multiplexing Method in Holographic Memory System (홀로그래픽 메모리시스템에서 위상 다중화 인코딩에 관한 연구)

  • For an effective phase-multiplexing in holographic memory system, four types of phase code used as reference beam are generated. In case of $32 {\times} 32$ address beam, a phase error with 0%, 5%, 10% 15%, 20%, and 25% error rate, is purposely added to the real phase values in order to consider the practical SLM's nonlinear characteristics of phase modulation in computer simulation, cross talks and SNRs are comparatively analysed for these phase-codes by the auto and cross-correlation. Pseudo-Random(PSR) Phase Code has the lowest cross-correlation mean value of 0.067 among four types of Phase Code, which means the SNR of the PSR is higher than other Phase Codes. Also, the standard deviation of the PSR phase code indicating the degree of recalled data degradation is the lowest value of 0.0113.

  • A received signal in mobile communication environments exhibits variation in both amplitude and phase due to the multipath fading. Therefore we analyzed the performance of DS/CDMA(Direct Sequence/code Division Multiple Access) DPSK(Differential Phase Shift Keying) system for the variations of PLL(Phase Locked Loop) gain with Tikhonov probability density function, assuming that the phase difference between transmitter and receiver signals is phase error. As a result, it is discovered that the performance of system could be improved by the control of PLL gain in compared with the DPSK system which does not consider the phase error. If the PLL gain is 1dB, the difference of two systems is 4.8dB and 0.4dB at 7dB. and if 30dB, it coincides. From above, it

  • SSB(Single Sideband) modulation scheme is high bandwidth efficient method in the mobile communication system compared with present DSB(Double Sideband) modulation scheme. Using the othogonality between inphase PN code and Hilbert transformed quadrature PN code, we propose phase estimation structure that enables coherent demodulation in the reverse link basestation receiver Several system characteristics, bit error rate and phase error variance, are simulated and compared with balanced QPSK DS/CDMA system. To verify system performance, SSB/BPSK-DS/CDMA test board is implemented using FPGA chips.

  • In this paper, we propose a new five-qubit multiple bit flip code that can completely protect the target qubit from all multiple bit flip errors using only CNOT gates. The proposed multiple bit flip codes can be easily extended to multiple phase flip codes by embedding Hadamard gate pairs in the root error section as in conventional single bit flip code. The multiple bit flip code and multiple phase flip code in this paper share the state vector error information by four auxiliary qubits. These four-qubit state vectors reflect the characteristic that all the multiple flip errors with Pauli X and Z corrections commonly include a specific root error. Using this feature, this paper shows that low-cost implementation is possible despite the QECC design for multiple-flip error correction by batch processing the detection and correction of Pauli X and Z root errors with only three CNOT gates. The five-qubit multiple bit flip code and multiple phase flip code proposed in this paper have 100% error correction rate and 50% error discrimination rate. All QECCs presented in this paper were verified using QCAD simulator.

Improvement of code acquisition time in DS/SS systems using a hybrid scheme (복합방식을 이용한 직접대역확산통신시스템의 코드획득 성능개선)

  • Since the period of a spreading code in DS/SS communication systems is generally long, it is necessary to make the code acquisition as fast as possible. The code acquisition time can be sued as a measure to evaluate the performance of code acquisition systems. The search rate of serial search codee acquisition system used in the coventional CDMA cellular system is lower than that of the matched filter technique. In order to reduce the code acquisition time, this paper proposes hybrid code acquisition system composed filters combined with serial search blocks. In the proposed system, the matched filter sweeps possible code phases fast and the acquired phase information is verified by the serial search block. The mean and the variance of its acquisition time are calculated and compared with those of double dwell serial search system. The results indicate better performance of the proposed system by yielding its small vaues of the mean and the variance of code acquisition time.

  • This paper presents a code generation method and an effective handling algorithm of ingeger constant multiplication for RISC machines in compiler design. As RISC Architectures usually use faster and more simply formed instructions than CISC's and most RISC processors do not have an integer multiplication instruction, it is required an effective algorithm to process integer multiplication. For the proposed code generator, Portable C Compiler(PCC) is redesigned to be suitable for an RISC machine, and composed an addition chain is built up to allow fast execution of constant multiplication, a part of integer one whicch appears very frequency in code generation phase.

  • Many of the currently used PN code acquisition algorithms detect the phase of the incoming PN signal on the basis of ML estimation principle and utilize statistics grounded in taking inner products. As an extension of PN code acquisition algorithm using one auxiliary code introduced by Salih in 1996, we propose a more and optimal (hardware / time / space complexity wise) algorithm by using a vector space approach. We outline some important differences between our algorithm and that introduced by Salih and in the process point out some advantages of our algorithm.

  • We propose an ultrashort pulse optical code-division multiple-access (O-CDMA) scheme based on a pseudorandom binary M-sequence spectral phase encoding and decoding of coherent mode-locked laser pulses and perform a numerical simulation to analyze its feasibility. We demonstrate the ability to properly decode any of the multiple (eight) 10 Gbit/s users by the matched code selection of the spectral phase decoder. The peak power signal to noise ratio of properly and improperly decoded $8{\times}10 Gb/s$ signals could be greater than 15 for 127 M-sequence coding.

  • In this paper, we improve performance for system when the carrier recovery signal is not perfect in the multipath mobile wireless communication fast fading channel based on DS-CDMA system. In the case, we use the phase estimation, diversity and adaptive FEC code technique in order to overcome this carrier phase error and mobile wireless fading. As a results in DS-CDMA system, we know that the appropriate use of diversity and adaptive FEC code technique reduced considerably performance degradation due to phase error.
