The Structural Modeling for Nurses' Interpersonal Competence within an Organization (간호사의 조직내 대인관계 역량에 관한 구조모형)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to identify a path model that anticipates the interpersonal competence of nurses by anticipating factors that explain interpersonal competence within an organization, and analyzing the effects of these factors. A hypothetical model was formulated based on a literature review of interpersonal competence. For the study, influential factors were divided into two variables: exogenous variables including communication style, coaching leadership, and social support, and endogenous variables of self-efficacy, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. Methods: The sample included 202 hospital nurses. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS and AMOS. Results: The overall fitness was good ($x^2=74.707$, p<.001), d.f=19, $x^2/df=3.932$, GFI=.940, AGFI=.826, RMR=.009). Social support, self-efficacy, horizontal communication and organizational commitment directly affected the interpersonal competence of the nurses, and informal type of communication, horizontal, upward communication and coaching leadership indirectly effected the interpersonal competence of the nurses. Horizontal communication, social support, self-efficacy, and organizational commitment explained 46.5% of the variance in interpersonal competence of nurses. Conclusion: Based on the study results, nurses in hospitals need informal types of communication, horizontal, upward communication and coaching leadership to increase their interpersonal competence.

Impact of Negative Feedback-seeking Behavior on Innovative Behavior: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Learning Goal Orientation Moderated by Coaching Leadership (부정피드백추구행동이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향: 코칭리더십에 의해 조절된 학습목표지향성의 매개효과 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to derive theoretical and practical implications in situations where innovation of the business is desperate in the face of the emergence of agile organizations and digital transformation. To do so, we tried to verify the correlation between negative feedback-seeking behavior and innovative behavior and whether the learning goal orientation of these two variables has a moderated mediating effect by coaching leadership. It analyzed the collected questionnaire from 381 members working in domestic companies; SPSS 25.0, AMOS 25.0, and Process Macro 3.0 were used. The analysis result showed that the negative feedback seeking behavior had a positive effect on the learning goal orientation, and the leader's coaching leadership found to have a moderating effect between the negative feedback seeking behavior and the learning goal orientation. Learning goal orientation has been found to have a moderated mediating effect between negative feedback seeking behavior and innovative behavior. This study is significant in the sense that it reveals the process of how members seeking negative feedback in the organization could be led to innovative behavior and shows the necessity of organizational support for coaching leadership for the vitalization of innovative behavior.

The Effect of Sales Manager Coaching on the Motivation and Organizational Effectiveness Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Achievement Needs (영업관리자 코칭이 동기부여와 조직유효성에 미치는 영향: 성취욕구의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • In the recent years, coaching leadership has been in the spotlight as being an essential human resources management strategy for improving organizational effectiveness in addition to strengthening the capacity of organizational members. Therefore, this study empirical analyses the effect of sales coaching on motivation and organizational effectiveness and the moderating effect of achievement needs. As a result, First, sales manager coaching appeared to have positive effect on the motivation and organizational effectiveness (job satisfaction, organizational commitment, job performance). Second, motivation appeared to have positive effect on organizational effectiveness. Third, achievement need appeared to have moderating effect in the relationship between sales manager coaching and organizational commitment. According to the study results, sales managers' coaching has positive effects on improving salespeople's performance as well as their levels of motivation, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. In addition, this study proves that depending on the level of salespeople's need for achievement, the purpose and approach of coaching styles must be different to maximize the positive effects. This empirical study contributes to the theoretical as well as practical improvements of leadership coaching by verifying the conditional attributes for implementing effective sales managers' coaching for improving organizational effectiveness.

The Moderating Effects of Managerial Coaching between Job Characteristics and Job Performance (직무특성과 직무성과 간의 관계에 미치는 코칭 리더십의 조절효과)

  • While managerial coaching has increased popularly as an effective leadership initiative in organization, the relationship between managerial coaching and its effects on performance has not been scholarly well defined. This study examined the role of managerial coaching as a moderator between job characteristics and job performance. Based on the sample of 453 employees in a financial firm, HLM was conducted to test the research model at multiple levels of organizational hierarchies. First, we found that managerial coaching has a direct impact on employee performance. Second, the strength of the relationship between job meaningfulness and job performance is positively related to the level of managerial coaching. Third, managerial coaching positively moderates the association between autonomy and job performance. However, any cross-level moderating effects of managerial coaching on the relationship between feedback and job performance is not observed. These results show that managerial coaching by managers could promote employees' performance through maximizing the impact of job characteristics on employees' motivation.

The Influence of Insecure Adult Attachment on Stress Coping Strategies Through Emotional Clarity of University Students (대학생의 불안정 성인애착이 정서인식명확성을 매개로 스트레스 대처전략에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was aim to explore the mediating effect of emotional clarity in the relation between insecure adult attachment and stress coping strategies of university students. 420 university students in Seoul and Gyeonggi area participated in the survey which was composed of adult attachment scale, emotional clarity scale, and stress coping strategies scale, and total 401 data (182 men and 219 women) were used in the analysis. This study has a significance in that it showed the need of intervention on emotional clarity by discovering psychological processes when people who have strong insecure adult attachment tendency cope with stress situations. That is, the emotion coaching will be more effective when emotional clarity is dealt with together as well as stress coping strategies.

  • Purpose: Prior literature posits that leadership of coach influences athletes' performance via delegate interactions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the type of instructor on the exercise stress of university athletes and to provide instructors with informative coaching methods especially for their leadership. Research design, data, and methodology: In order to achieve the purpose of the research, Seoul and Gyeonggi Province Materials University athletes were selected as a sample, 360 college athletes participated in the survey and data were screened and finally 314 were analyzed. The collected data were analyzed via descriptive analysis and multiple regressions. To examine the validity and reliability of the survey items, factor analysis and Cronbach's α were computed. Results: Coaches' leadership types are found to influence university athletes' exercise stress significantly. In specific, transformational leadership negatively influences teaching Complaints. Transformational leadership also negatively influences time constraints. However, transformational and transactional leadership do not have any effect on career concerns. transformational and transactional leadership also do not influence functional instability of college athletes. Conclusions: Overall, leadership types of coach partially influence exercise stress of athletes. These findings posit that transformational leadership contribute in developing reliable relationship between athletes and instructors. Further implications were discussed.

A Basic Study on the Development of a Coaching Education Program Enhancing the Capability Training of a Healthy Family Specialist (건강가정사 역량강화 코칭 교육프로그램 개발 기초연구)

  • Healthy family specialists, who must be equipped with comprehensive and specific knowledge on the health of families with an extensive span of duty, should receive continued education for enhancing their capabilities. In this context, this study will focus on a coaching program that brings excellent result in helping healthy family specialists to set up a vision, exercising leadership and improve their personal relations, etc. with a focus on the potential and possibility of persons and organizations. To accomplish the purpose of this study, the present condition of the existing reeducation program for healthy family specialists conducted by the Central Healthy Family Support Center was grasped. This was done through an analysis on the educational programs for nurturing professional coaches executed by many educational institutions in an effort to propose the coaching education program for enhancing the capabilities of healthy family specialists. The contents related to instruction, time, qualifications, etc. proposed in the model developed through the considered educational program could be used in the future for the education of healthy family specialists so that they may enhance their capabilities.

The Team Structure Design, Team-Coaching, Team Development, and Team Performance of Cross-Functional Project Team (다기능프로젝트팀의 설계, 팀 코칭, 팀 개발과 성과)

  • Utilizing cross-functional project teams is an attractive organizing option, particularly in solving complex and innovative problems that require diverse sources of information, knowledge, and expertise brought by individuals from different functional backgrounds. This study is aiming at finding the group dynamics surrounding and inside the teams for the better understand what makes cross-functional project teams effective. Adopting variables from small group research and organizational context research, I extract critical antecedents, mediator, and team-coaching that lead to team performance. Data from 32 cross-functional project teams consisting of 214 individual respondents are analyzed through regression analyses for hypotheses testing. Results of the analyses demonstrate that the team process and team performance are significantly affected by the composition of competence in team and team compensation. Also I find that team-coaching as a leadership behavior has influence on team process and team performance. Some implications, future research directions, and limitations are discussed.

  • Unlike in the past, successful global companies are striving to create a horizontal organizational structure and autonomous corporate culture by empowering their members with autonomy and responsibility. The purpose of this study is to conduct an empirical analysis on the effect of job stress and managerial coaching behavior on the effect of psychological empowerment on organizational commitment and turnover intention. Negative situational factors (job stress) and positive situational factors (managerial coaching behavior) were considered and presented at the same time, and their effectiveness was verified. As a result of the analysis, it was found that psychological empowerment had a positive effect on organizational commitment, but did not to affect turnover intention. Also, it was found that job stress and managerial coaching behavior had a mediating effect. The results of this study can be used as a effective guideline on creating an autonomous organizational climate and creating a successful corporate culture through this.

The Causal Relationship Between Coaching Behavior of Golf Leaders and Leader Trust and Re-Registration (골프 지도자의 코칭행동이 지도자 신뢰 및 재등록 간의 인과 관계)

  • In this study, 223 people were sampled from February 1 to March 11, 2022, and causal relationship analysis (SEM) was performed. First, a causal relationship was established between coaching behavior and leader trust, and second, a causal relationship was established between leader trust and re-enrollment. Finally, although it was partially adopted between coaching behavior and re-registration, an indirect effect was also derived that the effectiveness of behavior existed as an indirect effect of trust in the leader in the relationship between autonomous behavior and re-registration. Therefore, coaching behavior perceived by customers is influenced by various variables, and trust in leaders appears to exert a huge influence on golf course management performance, emphasizing that human service is a part that needs attention in the changing golf market. It is thought that a management strategy based on the results and this study is necessary.
