The reduction of CO2 emissions in the energy production sector, which accounts for 86.8% of total greenhouse gas emissions, is important to achieve carbon-neutrality. At present, 60% of total power generation in South Korea is coal and natural gas. Replacing fossil fuel with renewable energy such as wind and solar has disadvantages of unstable energy supply and high costs. Therefore, this study was conducted through the co-firing of natural gas, ammonia and hydrogen utilizing the natural gas combined cycle process. The results demonstrated reduction in CO2 emissions and 34%~238% of the power production compared to using only natural gas. Case studies on mass fractions of natural gas, ammonia and hydrogen indicated that power production and NOx emissions were inversely proportional to the ammonia ratio and directly proportional to the hydrogen ratio. This study provides guidelines for the use of various fuel mixtures and economic analysis in co-firing power generation.

We fabricated green sheet by tape casting method with fluormica glass-ceramic powders for fabrication of low temperature co-firing substrate. After ball milling with organic additives, we investigated green strength and density of green sheets which were casted by doctor blade machine. Green sheets were sintered at 700 ~ 1,00$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 ~3hrs. Microstructure, linear shrinkage and dielectric constant of substrates were surveyed.
An anode-supported SOFC single cell having $5{\mu}m$ thin electrolyte was fabricated cost-effectively by tape casting, laminating, and co-filing of anode (NiO-YSZ), cathode (LSM-YSZ), and electrolyte (YSZ) components. The optimal slurry compositions of the green tapes for SOFC components were determined by an analysis of the mean diameter, the slurry viscosity, the tensile strength/strain of the green tapes, and their green microstructures. The single cells with a dense electrolyte and porous electrodes could be co-fired successfully at $1325\sim1350^{\circ}C$ by controlling the contents of pore former and the ratio of coarse YSZ and fine YSZ in the anode and the cathode. The single cell co-fired at $1350^{\circ}C$ showed $100.2mWcm^{-2}$ of maximum power density at $800^{\circ}C$ but it was impossible to apply it to operate at low temperature because of low performance and high ASR, which were attributed to formation of the secondary phases in the cathode and the interface between the electrolyte and the cathode.

In environment of torpedo firing, underwater acoustic signal is generated by target and noise. Sound wave which is generated from acoustic signal is propagated by seawater and it is received through the sonar(sound navigation and ranging) system mounted on torpedo. In the ocean, acoustic signal or sound wave from target that is generated by the spread of broadband can be attenuated by ambient noise and can be lost by medium and environment. This research is designed to support teamwork training in Naval operations by constructing a simulation system that is more similar to the real-world conditions. This paper attempts to research the modeling of target detection and to develop the simulation of torpedo sonar(TOSO). In order to develop the realistic simulation, we researched the broadband sound modeling of target and noise source, the modeling of acoustic transmission loss by chemical component of seawater, and the modeling of signal attenuation by ambient noise environment which is approximated by experimental measurements in seawater surrounding the Korea Peninsular and by experience of Navy's actual torpedo firing. This research contributed to constructing more practical simulation of torpedo firing in real time and the results of this research were used to develop a teamwork training system for the Navy and their education.

The vast stores of biomass available in the worldwide have the potential to displace significant amounts of petroleum fuels. Fast pyrolysis of biomass is one of several paths by which we can convert biomass to higher value products. The wood pyrolysis oil (WPO) has been regarded as an alternative fuel for petroleum fuels to be used in diesel engine. However, the use of WPO in a diesel engine requires modifications due to low energy density, high water contents, high acidity, high viscosity, and low cetane number of the WPO. One possible method by which the shortcomings may be circumvented is to co-fire WPO with other petroleum fuels. WPO has poor miscibility with light petroleum fuel oils; the most suitable candidates fuels for direct fuel mixing are methanol or ethanol. Early mixing with methanol or ethanol has the added benefit of significantly improving the storage and handling properties of the WPO. For separate injection co-firing, a WPO-ethanol blended fuel can be fired through diesel pilot injection in a dual-injection dieel engine. In this study, the performance and emission characteristics of a dual-injection diesel engine fuelled with diesel (pilot injection) and WPO-ethanol blend (main injection) were experimentally investigated. Results showed that although stable engine operation was possible with separate injection co-firing, the fuel conversion efficiency was slightly decreased due to high water contents of WPO compare to diesel combustion.

In this paper, using the value theoretically calculated to emit multidirectionally a beam coming into an optical fiber with diameter of $125{\mu}m$, we modeled and produced a cone-shaped structure at the distal end of the fiber. A numerical simulation was performed for an optical fiber tip in which all incident beams were totally reflected and emitted toward the side, as well as for an optical fiber tip from which the beams could be emitted forward and sideways simultaneously. We produced multidirectional-firing optical fiber tips based on the simulation result and model. Laser fabrication of the optical fiber was done by processing a cone-shaped structure at the distal end of an optical fiber with diameter of $125{\mu}m$ using a femtosecond pulsed laser and polishing the processed surface with a $CO_2$ laser. We also conducted an analysis to compare experimental and simulation results.

We investigated the low firing of $Li_2CO_3$ added $0.2Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$ - 0.3Pb($Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2}$) - $0.5Pb(Zr_{0.475}Ti_{0.525})O_3$ (PMN-PFN-PZT) ceramics and multilayer actuators (MLAs) using Ag inner electrodes. It was found that 0.1 wt% $Li_2CO_3$ was quite effective in lowering the sintering temperature of PMN-PFN-PZT ceramics from $1,100^{\circ}C$ down to $900^{\circ}C$ without deteriorating their piezoelectric ceramics ($d_{33}$ = 425 pC/N and $k_p$ = 61.9%). However, excess $Li_2CO_3$ up to 0.3 wt% brings about unwanted problems such as the formation of a $LiPbO_2$ secondary phase and subsequent degradation in the piezoelectric properties. Using 0.1 wt% $Li_2CO_3$ added PMN-PFN-PZT ceramics, MLAs with Ag inner electrodes were successfully fabricated, resulting in a normalized strain of 580 pm/V at an electric field of 1.5 kV/mm.
As the proportion of renewable energy generation is expected to increase, public power generation businesses need to actively consider implementing the expansion of biomass mixing, In this study, the biomass co-firing rate is being changed from 0wt.% to 5.0wt.% at 500MW coal-fired power plant, measuring the major operation characteristics of the pulverizer. First, the composition analysis and grinding characteristics of lignocelluosic biomass were examined, and the effect of volume increase on dirrerential bowl pressure difference, motor current, coal spillage, outlet temperature, and internal fire count was analyzed. As the co-firing rate increased, it was confirmed that the difference in the differential bowl pressure, motor current, and coal spillage treated increased, and the outlet temperature was minimal. The number of internal fires is difficult to find a clear correlation, but it has been confirmed that it is highly likely to occur in combination with other driving factors.

A comparative study has been attempted for microwave and conventional sintering of lead-free $Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5}TiO_3(BNT)$-based multilayer ceramic actuators(MLAs). It was found that microwave sintering (MWS) could be successfully applied to the co-firing of piezoceramic/AgPd MLAs with a 10 times shorter firing cycle as well as $100^{\circ}C$ lower firing temperature ($850^{\circ}C$) for sufficient densification than conventional furnace sintering ($950^{\circ}C$). Furthermore, MWS-derived specimens showed better electric field-induced strain than that of CFS-derived specimens by effectively suppressing interdiffusions between ceramic and electrode layers.
