In this paper, a robust receding horizon controller for uncertain linear time-varying systems is presented in the dynamic output-feedback form. The existing output-feedback receding horizon controller in the literature is composed of a state observer and a static controller associated with the observer states (similar to LQC control), where the fundamental assumption is that the state observer will supply the exact states as time goes up. The performance of those controllers may be much degraded and even the closed-loop stability may not be guaranteed when the system suffers from disturbances and uncertainties or is time-varying. The proposed controller, which is not necessary to have the state-observer, overcomes such difficulties. Using matrix inequality conditions on the terminal weighting matrix, the closed-loop system stability is guaranteed. Numerical examples are ...
This paper prsents an end-point control of a one-link flexible arm with a payload by using closed loop control. Tip position of arm is shifted by the base motion according to DC servomotor, whivh is driven by a feedback signal composed of the tip displacement and the estimated tip velocity. The shifting problem of the arm from initial position to desired position is considered by the variation of the displacement gain Gd and velocity agin Gv. Theoretical results are obtained by applying the method of the Laplace transform to the governing equations and the method of numerical inversion. This system is composed of a flexible arm with payload, DC servomotor, and a ballscrew mechanism. The flexible arm is mounted on a mobile stage driven by a servomotor and ballscrew. In controlling the tip displacement of flexible arm, the fundamental bode vibration is supressed more rapidly with an increase of the velocity feedback gain Gv and the feedback displacemenmt gain Gd. Theretical responses are approximately in good agreement with those obtained experimentally.

The Cartesian loop chip which is one of key devices in narrow-band Walky-Talky transmitter using RZ-SSB modulation method was designed and implemented with 0.35 Um CMOS technology. The reduced size and low cost of transmitter were available by the use of direct-conversion and Cartesian loop chip, which improved the power efficiency and linearity of transmitting path. In addition, low power operation was possible through CMOS technology. The performance test results of transmitter showed -23 dBc improvement of IMD level and -30 dEc below suppression of SSB characteristic in the operation of Cartesian loop chip (closed-loop). At that time, the transmitting power was about 37 dBm (5 W). The main parameters to improve the transmitting characteristic and to compensate the distortion in feed back loop such as DC-offset, loop gain and phase value are interfaced with notebook PC to be controlled with S/W.
A novel vector control strategy for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) based on the kinetic energy stored in the rotor is proposed in this paper. The novel strategy is composed of two closed loops, in which the current loop is the inner loop, and the kinetic energy serves as the outer loop. The theoretical basis and the design procedure of the two loops are given. The feasibility of the proposed control strategy is verified by experimental results. When compared with traditional vector control strategies, the proposed vector control strategy based on energy feedback has better dynamic performance. In addition, an effective estimation solution for the load variation is put forward.

This paper represents an adaptive position controller with the disturbance observer for multi-axis servo system. The overall control system consists of three parts : the position controller, the disturbance observer with free parameters and cross-coupled controller which enhances contouring performance by reducing errors. Using two-degrees-of freedom conception, we design the command input response and the closed loop characteristics independently. The servo system can improve the closed loop characteristics without affecting the command input response. The characteristics of the closed loop system is improved by suppressing disturbance torque effectively with the disturbance observer. Moreover, the cross-coupled controller enhances tracking performance. Thus total position control performance is improved. Finally, the performance of the proposed controller shows that it improves the contouring performance along with the reference trajectory in the XY-table.
In this paper, the control technique of the stepping motor using back electromotive force(B-EMF) without encoder is investigated. The stepping motor generally uses the rotary encoder to detect the rotor position. Since this method increases the cost and the motor configuration size, the new closed-loop control method applied for the B-EMF was implemented by using current detect circuit, AD-converter, and micro controller unit(MCU). The control loop of stepping motor became very simplified. The current change of stepping motor measured by the amplifier was measured and analyzed, when the missing step is occurred. Based on the data from current feedback, position errors were compensated and confirmed by using AD-converter.
Controller refinement scheme to improve the performance of a conventional system automatically in frequency domain is proposed. The controller automatic tuning method features using experimental frequency responses of the conventional closed-loop system, the conventional controller, and the improved closed-Imp system; instead of poorly modeled plant due to non-linearities and disturbances. The improved closed-loop system characteristics is automatically acquired by the conventional closed-loop system characteristics and the proposed performance index in system bandwidth. And the proper controller is realized by least squares approximation in frequency domain. To testify the usefulness of the approach, experimental results of robot path-tracking control applied with various controllers is used, and then is analyzed with respect to a equivalent proportional controller. Experimental results and analytic results are well-matched.
In this paper, the initial pole-position estimation of a surface (non-salient) permanent magnet synchronous motor is mathematically analyzed and surveyed on the basis of simulation analysis, and developed for accurate servo motor drive. This algorithm is well carried out under the full closed-loop position control without any pole sensors and is completely insensitive to any motor parameters. This estimation is based on the principle that the initial pole-position is simply calculated by the reverse trigonometric function using the two feedback currents in the full closed-loop position control. The proposed algorithm consists of the predefined reference position profile, the information of feedback currents, speed, and relative position, and the reverse trigonometric function for the initial-pole position estimation. Comparing with the existing researches, the mathematical analysis is introduced to get a more accurate initial pole-position of the surface permanent magnet motor under the closed-loop position control. It is found that the proposed algorithm can be easily applied in servo drive applications because it satisfies the following user's specifications; accuracy and moving distance.
This article describes a robust control method by using peak control of a sensitivity function in the state-feedback control systems. This method apparently reduces the peak, and as a result makes closed loop systems more stable. The designed closed loop systems also make the response to an external step disturbance more fast with a lower undershoot. At the conclusion, it is verified that the proposed method enhances robust stability and robust performance to parametric uncertainties through $\mu$-plot.

For a multi-input, multi-output system, it is widely known that feedback control gain presents extra freedom pole placement problem. An eigenstructure assignment utilizes this freedom for assignment of all or some elements of the closed-loop eigenvectors. In this paper, a nonlinear optimization technique is adopted to obtain a small gain controller that assigns closed-loop eigenvalues and elements of eigenvectors simultaneously. To illustrate the approach, a numerical example of the Airplane mode decoupling using an advanced fighter is shown.
