  • The aim of this study was to identify perception discrepancies related to organizational effectiveness in childcare center. To achieve this, managers and teachers were treated as two different subjects. Statistical analysis showed that perception influences differed between managers and teachers. Managers were affected by organizational characteristics and director of the organization. On the other hand, teachers were affected by organizational characteristics and the manager of the child-care center. It was established that the different view points of managers and teachers led to a situation where a manager perceived organizational effectiveness in a more holistic and positive light compared to teachers. It is our assertion that in order to run a child-care center efficiently, it is very important to fortify the ability and authority of managers.

  • Thise study is designed to demonstrate the influence of socio-demographic variables(age, education, career history and marital Status), alexithymia, burnout, and adult attachment on child disciplinary styles; childcare teachers in charge of young children were studied. The purpose of the study is to provide information about the desirable disciplinary styles of a childcare teacher in order to strengthen the quality of childcare education. The data collected in this study showed the following results: First, the age, education, career history and marital status of a teacher produced good results statistically irrelevant to the their child disciplinary style. Second, a high level of negative correlation was found among alexithymia, burnout, adult attachment and the child disciplinary style of a childcare teacher. In other words, if a teacher shows a high level of alexithymia, burnout, and adult attachment, it is likely that the teacher's child disciplinary style is coercive and neglect, and the teacher tends to give an illogical explanation. Third, in contrast to the other variables, burnout and adult attachment have a greater effect on child disciplinary style than alexithymia.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of emotional labor on burnout and career commitment of childcare teachers. For that purpose, a survey was taken with 207 childcare teachers in the region. Collected data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0(ver.). The findings were as follows: first, emotional labor(3.05), burnout(3.22), and career commitment(2.86) recorded higher points than average on a 5-point scale. Second, there were significant correlations among the variables of emotional labor, burnout, and career commitment. Third, emotional labor had positive(+) impacts on emotional exhaustion and depersonalization of the burnout subvariables and no significant impacts on personal accomplishment. Fourth, emotional labor had significant negative(-) effects on career commitment. Those findings show that the emotional labor of childcare teachers has influences on their burnout and career commitment on which it was estimated to have tacit effects. It is thus required to recognize and reevaluate the importance of emotional labor and establish a foundation for a social support system.

  • The present study examined the relationships between work related flow (i.e., absorption, work enjoyment, and intrinsic work motivation) and role conflict causes (i.e., teacher's belief, teaching and interaction with young children, comradeship, relationships with parents, workload, supervision, and social awareness of the job). A canonical correlation analysis was performed on the data from a sample of 154 childcare teachers. The results are as follows (1) there was a reciprocal-causal relationship between teachers' role conflict causes and their work-related flow; (2) canonical function 1 showed that absorption and work enjoyment are strongly associated to a teacher's belief and supervision of conflict causes; and (3) canonical function 2 showed that intrinsic motivation has a relatively strong relationship with workload and supervision of conflict causes. It can be concluded that it is important for childcare teachers to have sufficient job resources to promote their flow at work. Further research is needed for investigation of teacher's flow at various conditions of work.

'Safe action in dander situation'(77.8%) was most frequently used higher concept and followed by 'traffic safety('35%). Second, Teachers used 1,270 dependent concepts. Third, there was significant difference in density according to frequency of safety instruction. These results can be meaningful to decide the contents of child safety instruction for teacher's education and as a basic data for teacher's education.

  • Objective: This study aimed to develop and validate the Childcare Adaptation Scale for Infants and Toddlers (CASIT), which is rated by teachers of Korean children. Methods: The participants consisted of 326 childcare teachers working with infants (ages 0-2 years). Content validity, discriminant validity, convergent validity, concurrent validity, internal consistency, inter-rater reliability, and item discrimination were examined using PASW 18.0 and AMOS 19.0. Results: The results of an exploratory factor analysis identified the 29-item scale and six dimensions of the scale, including group life adaptation, negative behaviors, positive affect, regular routines, activity/interest, and peer interaction. Convergent validity was examined via confirmatory factor analysis, average variation extracted (AVE), and construct reliability, and acceptable evidences of convergent validity was established. The scales were shown to be highly consistent internally and among raters. Also, the mean between the upper group and lower group of each item regarding item discrimination showed a significant difference. Conclusion: It was concluded that the CASIT, which is a quick and convenient tool for teachers to use, is a valid and reliable instrument.

  • This study investigated the effects of childcare teachers' stress level and health status on burnout. We collected the data of 236 day care teachers who were working at day care facilities in the city and chose 220 after excluding improper responses. Data analysis was done using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The study results were as follows. The exhaustion of childcare teachers had a statistically significant positive correlation with stress levels, but a statistically significant negative correlation with health status. The description of the complete model was 47.6%(regulated $R^2=.476$) with psychological health(${\beta}=-.297$, p<.001), and social health(${\beta}=-.257$, p<.001), stress level(${\beta}=.247$, p<.001). Thus, reducing the exhaustion of childcare teachers will require the consistent development of a stress management program with the application of psychological and social health, as well as various institutional reforms on both governmental and civil levels and a search for practical solutions.
