  • There are carbonatiion, salt attack, freezing & thawing and alkali-aggregate reactions as the cautions of durability lowering of concret structure. Generally, these cautions complicatedly lower the durability of structure and among these cautions the most serious problem is salt attack and carbonation. This study is intending to get the carbonation phenominon, that among cement calcium hydroxides change into calcium carbonate by responding to carbon mitrogen in the air.

  • This paper presents experimental results for durability performance of GFRP composite exposed to various environmental conditions. Specimens were conditioned for 7 environmental cases and immerged up to 150 days. A total of 720 specimens were prepared and tested for tensile strength for each immersion time. The results indicate that the tensile strength of the conditioned specimens was significantly reduced, regardless of the environmental factors considered, due to the degradation of GFRP.

산성유해가스 제거를 위한 고효율 음이온교환 복합 폼 화학필터의 제조 (High Efficiency Hybrid Ion Exchange Chemical Filter for Removal of Acidic Harmful Gases)

  • 본 연구는 산성유해가스 제거를 위한 고효율 음이온교환 복합 폼 화학필터를 제조하기 위하여 폴리우레탄(PU) foam에 다른 종류의 PSA를 사용하여 상용이온교환수지를 부착하여 제조, 이의 내수성, 내화학성, 접착신율, 농도와 유속에 따른 HCl과 HF의 흡착특성에 관하여 연구하였다. 그 결과 접착신율은 ATE-701은 900%, AT-4000C는 1,500%, HCA-1000는 2,400%이며, 내수성 및 내화학성평가에서 HCA-1000의 탈리율이 6% 미만으로 우수한 내구성을 가짐을 확인하였다. HCl, HF의 농도와 유속이 증가함에 따라 흡착이 빠르게 일어났으며 유속과 농도에 관계없이 110 min 이후 100% 흡착파과평형이 일어남을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 SEM Morphology 관찰 결과 점착제가 고르게 분산되어 있고 이온교환수지의 다공구조가 유지되었으며, 흡-탈착 공정에서 성능저하가 없는 것으로 보아 내구성이 있음을 확인하였다.

Co-P-B/FeCrAlloy 촉매를 이용한 NaBH4 가수분해 반응 (NaBH4 Hydrolysis Reaction Using Co-P-B Catalyst Supported on FeCrAlloy)

  • Co-P-B/FeCrAlloy 촉매의 $NaBH_4$ 가수분해 특성과 내구성에 대해 연구하였다. 5 wt% $NaBH_4$ 농도에서 활성화 에너지가 25.2 kJ/mol로 귀금속 촉매와 비슷했고, $NaBH_4$ 농도가 증가할수록 활성화 에너지가 증가하였다. 20 wt% 이상의 $NaBH_4$ 농도에서 겔 형성이 수소발생과 촉매 내구성에 많은 영향을 줬다. $NaBH_4$ 농도가 높을 때 반응온도가 높을수록 겔 형성이 안 되므로 촉매 손실률이 낮았다. 수소발생과 촉매 내구성을 모두 고려했을 때 담지체를 $1,000^{\circ}C$에서 열처리하고, 초음파 진동없이 촉매를 담지하고, 촉매 담지 후 소성한 촉매가 우수하였다. 25 wt% $NaBH_4$에서는 촉매를 3회 이상 재사용하기 위해서는 $60^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서 반응시켜야 함을 보였다.

Evaluation of protective coatings for geopolymer mortar under aggressive environment

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the durability of fly ash based geopolymer mortar with and without protective coatings in aggressive chemical environments. The source materials for geopolymer are Fly ash and Ground Granulated Blast furnace Slag (GGBS) and they are considered in the combination of 80% & 20% respectively. Two Molarities of NaOH solution were considered such as 8M and 10M. The ratio of binder to sand and Sodium silicate to Sodium hydroxide solution (Na2SiO3/NaOH) are taken as 1:2 and 2 respectively. The alkaline liquid to binder ratio is 0.4. Compressive strength tests were conducted at various ages of the mortar specimens. In order to evaluate the performance of coatings on geopolymer mortar under aggressive chemical environment, the mortar specimens were coated with two different types of coatings such as epoxy and Acrylic. They were then subjected to different chemical environments by immersing them in 10% standard solutions of each ammonium nitrate, sodium chloride and sulphuric acid. Drop in compressive strength as a result of chemical exposure was considered as a measure of chemical attack and the drop in compressive strength was measured after 30 and 60 days of chemical exposure. The compressive strength results following chemical exposure indicated that the specimens containing the acrylic coating proved to be more resistant to chemical attacks. The control specimen without coating showed a much greater degree of deterioration. Therefore, the application of acrylic coating was invariably much more effective in improving the compressive strength as well as the resistance of mortar against chemical attacks. The results also indicated that among all the aggressive attacks, the sulphate environment has the most adverse effect in terms of lowering the strength.

활성탄 담지 Co-B/C, Co-P-B/C 촉매를 이용한 NaBH4 가수분해 반응 (Hydrolysis Reaction of NaBH4 Using Activated Cabon Supported Co-B/C, Co-P-B/C Catalyst)

  • 휴대용 고분자전해질 연료전지의 수소발생용으로써 $NaBH_4$는 많은 장점을 갖고 있다. 본 연구에서는 활성탄 담지 Co-B/C, Co-P-B/C 촉매의 $NaBH_4$ 가수분해 특성에 대해 연구하였다. 촉매의 BET 표면적, 수소 수율, $NaBH_4$ 농도 영향, 촉매 내구성 등을 실험하였다. 활성탄에 담지시킴으로써 BET 면적이 비담지 촉매에 비해 2~3배 증가해 $500m^2/g$ 이상이 되었다. 활성탄 담지 촉매의 수소발생이 비담지 촉매보다 더 안정적이었다. 20 wt% $NaBH_4$에서 활성화 에너지가 59.4 kJ/mol로 Co-P-B/FeCrAlloy 촉매 보다 14% 낮았다. 활성탄 담지 촉매가 비담지 촉매에 비해 촉매 손실이 1/3~1/2로 감소해 활성탄에 촉매를 담지시킴으로써 내구성을 향상시킬 수 있었다.

Glutaraldehyde를 이용한 설파제의 합성과 지속성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Durability and Synthesis of Sulfa Agents Using Glutaraldehyde)

  • Dual actions are the most recently used delivery system in drug study. Dual-action agents are unique chemical entities comprised of two different type of antibacterial compounds covalently linked together in a single molecule in such a way that both components are able to exert their bactericidal properties. Crosslinked sulfadiazine-sulfanilamide such as antibiotics is synthesized by synthetic handle with glutaraldehyde. As a result, New synthetic antibacterial agent exhibited the broad antibacterial activities against Gram(+) and Gram(-) of 4 strains and a long durability supposing that the stomach and blood.

  • It was investigated the durability of the concrete to improve construction materials with polymer cement mortar in this study. With the popularity of repair and rehabilitation material, some mixtures composed of Ethylene Vinyl Acetate(EVA) was studied. Ethylene Vinyl Acetate(EVA) carried out tests to determine its properties which a include: freezing-thawing resistance test, carbonation test, and chemical resistance test. Result of freezing-thawing resistance test, mass change ratio and chemical resistance test, mass change ratio decreased of 12 and $15\~45\%$ as compared with control mortar. Carbonation depth decreased $3.7\~5.6mm$ as polymer-cement ratio increased $1\~4\%$.

실리카 콜로이드를 기재(基材)로 한 항구그라우트(PSG)의 개발과 공학적 특성 (Development & Characteristics of the Permanent Grout based on Colloidal Silica)

  • In this study, the colloidal silica grouts (PSG) with novel chemical compositions for permanent reinforcement and water cut-off of the ground were prepared and their engineering charateristics were investigated. The optimum mixing recipes for both homogeneous solution grouts and heterogeneous suspension grouts were investigated and established through many repeated lab tests. The various physical properties(such as compressive strength, durability and syneresis) of the grout gels derived from the colloidal silica were investigated and compared with those of the well-known existing watergalss grouts. The all experimental results showed that the novel colloidal silica grouts(PSG) had greatly excellent performances as permanent grouts, especially in comparison with the existing watergalss grouts.
