The purpose of this study was to analyze the three-dimensional (3D) characteristics and reproducibility of the effective expression of North American smocking pleats in the process of making clothes using a 3D virtual clothing system (CLO) and present a method of expression according to the types of North American smocking. In this study, lattice, lozenge, and flower smocking were produced as real smocking and 3D virtual content, and actual muslin properties were measured using a Fabric Kit and reflected using an emulator. The results of this study confirmed that a dense puckered design such as North American smocking could be expressed depending upon the internal line, fold angle, and reinforcement setting for 3D smocking. To partially apply pleats to flat fabrics, it was necessary to set fold lines. The fold line setting could be expressed by designing the internal line in horizontal, vertical, and diagonal directions according to the North American smocking design, and then setting the fold angle for each internal line. By setting fold angles of 0 degrees and 360 degrees according to the folding direction of the set internal line, the fabric was clearly folded and stable pleats were created. This study will contribute to the vitalization of the 3D virtual fashion content industry by analyzing and presenting the optimal expression method of sophisticated and complex pleats generated according to the North American smocking design pattern.

Theories and concepts emerging in new media environment are influencing the field of current spatial design. Art and technology have always coexisted, not but they are differentiated in two parts. They show new communicational paradigm in terms of supplementary position each other. The fact that examining the expression method and the communicational structure of today's new media art will be an analytical tool which analyzes the concepts of contemporary spatial design. For this, we attempt to use the Bolter and Gusin's remediation theory as analytical tool. First of all, we consider its theoretical aspects, and then, classify them according to the creation method, and investigate the characteristics of expression according to their types. We prepared an framework of analysis using the Remediation theory and its traits. We reviewed the relations between new media and spaces concerning remediation. After researching, we could analyze the cognitive aspects between new media and spaces as immediacy, and recognize the operational aspects of visual image as hypermediacy. Through the analysis, we could recognize the traits that digital environmental simulacres, sense of telepresence, and non-linear hypermediacy etc. remediate with repeating of mediation of mediation.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the aesthetic characteristics of traditional Korean patterns appearing on fashion collections from 1990 to 2005. Traditional Korean patterns have been used as an important element to express a Korean image since the 1990s. Frequently used patterns included several kinds of geometric patterns, plant patterns(flower, peony, Four Gracious Plants), and Chinese character patterns. Specifically, since the 2000s, animal patterns such as tiger, Chinese phoenix, and giraffe which were not often used, plant patterns such as arabesque, peony, and flower, and a variety of Chinese character patterns appeared. For the expression techniques, while embroidery and printing was often used in the 1990s, they became varied into printing, beading, embroidery, gold and silver leaf, and hand painting after 2000 as a result of designers' active attempts. The aesthetic characteristics of fashion design with its focus on traditional patterns were analyzed. First, Chinese character patterns and phoenix pattern which were mainly used for a court suit, and show the excellence and unique originality of Korean culture. Second, traditional Korean patterns directly and indirectly imply symbolistic significance of lucky sign and illustrate the use of various lucky sign patterns. Third, traditional Korean patterns such as arabesque or peony were expressed by colorful embroidery to add decorative beauty. Finally, traditional Korean patterns reflect a naturalistic worldview and are completed finished as the design.

Due to the rapid development of computer and digital technologies, those technologies were used in advertising. In order to meet the needs of marketing, a virtual space or character using 3D graphic augmented reality technology was developed and applied to advertisement. This study analyzed the characteristics of augmented reality in terms of interface design and spatial expression of augmented reality through case study. Firstly, we wanted to find the relationship between the types of the augmented reality advertisement and interface effects. Secondly, we wanted to find the spatial expression methods. The sample survey case studies based on 42 articles from 2012 to 2018 using Chinese and Korean site sharing augmented reality advertisement. The results of the case studies were divided into two parts. Firstly, the relationship between augmented reality types and interface effects were found basing on the augmented reality index. It means that the augmented reality index can be illustrated by using the augmented reality type. Simultaneously, the augmented reality type can be illustrated using the interface effect. The second part was that the types of display were used as a spatial representation. And the results showed that mobile display and public place display were the most frequently used.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the meanings and expressional characteristics of space-time concept in modern architecture. As the architecture spaces reflect and represent the characteristics of times, the meaning and modern expression of space-time concept was studied in the developmental process of space concept on the base of the background of philosophy, science and psychology. At the late 19th century, space concept was changed with relative time-space in philosophy and science and the theory of visual perception. In the beginning of 20th century, space-time concept that combined space with time in the process of image open space expanded movement was developed. In modern architecture, it was expressed as the freedom of movement by open space expanded infinitely and/or abstract space without spacial measure, multiple view point by superimposed and/or polyhedric space and kinetic vision by dynamic and/or continuous space.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of expression and formal principle of universalism in Architectural Composition. Theorical category is to find universal system with the connection between idea of society and tradition in compositional frame the results were as follows : First it is the pursuit of divine. Through Middle Age and Renaissance universalism of principles in Architectural Composition is appeared a numerical order and human proportion with applying of cosmology. Second it is the pursuit of schema. With the simplicity of formal image it represented to the geometrical form for its clearness. Third it is the pursuit of typology. As to play a role of decisive factor in formal construction type represented the model with abstraction of shape.

Art belongs to men's mentality and plays the most representative role in mentality. The organization of mentality is complex, it has simple and distinct movement evolving into various configuration to achieve men's internal meaning and aim. The purpose of this study is to analyze Max Bill's characteristics of the spatial expression on his works, especially focuses on the concept called "simplicity". The simplicity does not means just a conceptual or formal terminology, but the logical principles of spatial organization through repeating arrangement, structural relationship, off-central ideas and the sequence of signs using by the composition of lines, faces and colors. He expressed the logical methods in various fields of art and has influenced his essential thoughts and emotion in men's mentality of the late 20th century20th century.

웹의 활용과 기술의 발전으로 웹 디자인 영역은 점차 확대되어 가고 있지만, 관련 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 이에 웹 디자인의 변천 과정을 연구함으로써 웹 디자인 시장의 중요성을 인식하고, 향후 디자인 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 디자인의 표현기법 발현과 진화 배경과 디자인에 영향을 주는 정보기술의 흐름을 고찰하고, 이를 바탕으로 웹 디자인 변천 과정 분석 연구를 수행하였다. 이는 앞으로의 웹 디자인 영역 확장을 위한 기초 연구 자료로서 의의가 있다고 판단된다. 연구 범위로는 웹의 역사 30년을 기준으로 1990년부터 2000년대 초까지는 당시 이슈가 되었t던 웹 사이트 자료를 대상으로 하였고, 2000년대 중반부터는 웹 어워드 코리아의 대상 수상작을 분석 대상으로 선정하여 디자인 표현기법의 조형적 특성과 웹 디자인에 영향을 준 정보기술 특성을 분석하는 방법으로 연구를 수행하였다. 연구 결과 디자인 표현기법의 변화는 미니멀리즘과 스큐어모피즘으로 크게 나눌 수 있었고, 정보기술이 발전함에 따라 영향을 받으며 웹 디자인을 표현하는 방식이 다양하게 변화하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 앞으로도 다양한 디바이스의 출현과 영상 콘텐츠 활성화로 이와 조화를 이룰 수 있는 미니멀리즘의 영향을 받은 디자인이 지속할 것으로 예측된다.

This study investigates the characteristics of Mario Botta's single-family houses. Eight of his housing project which are deemed important in the historical development of housing he been selected for the purpose their elevations plans loggie and interiors are analyzed and evaluated. Through this study the followings are realized ; $\circled1$ The rationality of his interior space comes from Le Corbusier's housing projects. $\circled2 His expression of elevations has developed from Louis. I. Kahn's language and Carlo Scarpa's technique. $\circled3$ The rationality of Corbusier's houses and expressiveness of Kahn's and scarpa's projects together led to his functional solution of internal program an and the creative external images of his own. $\circled4$ The originality of this house results from his creative vision and ability to reinterpret the existing expression and principles in the light of time and space.

Along with emergence of recent issues such as 'minimization of energy consumption' and 'natural environment and human health' amid the flow of requirements for nature-friendly architecture, attempts for boundary, which has a variety of possibilities as the intermediate territory between interior and exterior space of the architecture, have been pursued actively. On the ground of close relationships between urban area and architecture in a modern society, the boundary between interior and exterior is being exhibited in a wide variety of way of expressions, not as a single plane any longer. In line with this, researcher analyzed interior and exterior boundary according to its type targeting modern housing complex in Europe, and also investigated characteristics thereof. And, having provided the results as basic materials in order to seek amenity of local apartment houses and diversification of housing plan as well, the researcher intends to be of a help to bring physical changes in both building and exterior design, and also to give a new meaning in an environment-friendly aspect.
