낙상예방 운동 프로그램이 치매 노인의 균형, 보행과 하지 근력, 심리사회적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Impact of a Fall-Prevention Exercise Program on Balance, Gait, Lower Limb Strength, and Psychosocial Characteristics in Older Adults with Dementia)

  • PURPOSE: This study measured the impact of a 12-week fall-prevention exercise program on balance, ambulatory ability, lower limb strength, and psychosocial characteristics in older adults diagnosed with dementia. METHODS: The participants comprised 31 older adults (9 men, 22 women) diagnosed with Alzheimer's or vascular dementia at a long-term care hospital located in Gunsan City. A fall-prevention exercise program was provided to the experimental group, while the control group was only provided with instruction and materials related to the fall-prevention exercise program. The participants were evaluated before the intervention, 6 weeks after the intervention, and 12 weeks after the intervention on static and dynamic balance abilities (using Timed Up and Go test: TUG, Tinetti-balance scale, one-leg standing test: OLS), gait (Tinetti-balance scale, 6-minute walk test: 6MWT), lower limb strength (sit to stand test; STS), and psychosocial characteristics (Short Form 36 Health Survey-Korean version, Korean Mini-Mental State Exam). RESULTS: An independent samples t-test and repeated measures analysis of variance were used for the statistical analysis. There were statistically significant improvements after the intervention (p<.05) in dynamic balance abilities (TUG and OLS using the left foot), gait (6MWT), and lower limb strength (STS) for the experimental group, but not for the control group. No difference was seen in psychosocial characteristics. CONCLUSION: Older adults with dementia who participated in the fall-prevention exercise program showed significant improvements in their static and dynamic balance abilities, lower limb strength, and ambulatory ability after the intervention.

  • For the purpose of developing ‘Web-Based Nutritional Education Program’, this study did instructional analysis, analysis of entry behaviors and learner characteristics to select instructional contents for nutritional education program for junior/senior high school students. Survey questionnaires were distributed from October 21, 2002 to October 26, 2002 to a total of 564 junior/senior high school students in Seoul. The total number of questionnaires collected and used in our study was 479, which is 84.9% of the total questionnaires distributed. As a result of the curriculum analysis of ‘Technology-Home economics’, subjects related with ‘food and nutrition’ in the 7$^{th}$ educational course study result, lessons including the contents of food and nutrition were ‘nutrition and meal of adolescent’ in 7th grade, ‘family meal management’ in 9th grade and ‘practice of home life’ in 10th grade. According to the curriculum analysis, ‘nutrition’ and ‘food’ were chosen for the superior subjects of nutrition education program and four subordinate subjects per superior one were developed. Then, entry behaviors and learner characteristics were analyzed: life characteristics, internet usage, anthropometrics data and nutritional knowledge. Students were interested in using computer and preferred passive activity to dynamic activity. According. to the analysis of internet usage, WBI for students should composed active parts such as game, moving image, immediate reply and follow-up bye-mail, bulletin board and com- munity activity. Students’ BMI were in normal range but they were lacked nutritional knowledge. We wrote performance objectives that were specific behavior skills to be learned, the conditions under which they must be performed and the criteria for successful performance. The next step for developing the WBI nutrition education program would be based on the results mentioned above.

  • This paper describes an extension of Kaffe JVM which enables to extract runtime characteristics of a Java program. The runtime characteristics include frequency of method call instruction, ratio of library method call and ratio of method whose runtime is less than compile time. It also represents ratio of method called only once, polymorphicity of virtual call and distribution of method size called in runtime. This paper analyses runtime features of the SciMark benchmark suite using the extended Kaffe.

  • This study is focused on the indeterminancy of the contemporary social structure based on the philosophical concept of relationship. The indeterminate relationship is one of the prominent characteristics of contemporary architecture. This study aims to clarity the indeterminate programs of the contemporary urban spatial structures. By tracing this new characteristics of new architectural trend, the spatial situations of could be understood in light of new conceptual frame as well as some relevant architectural project cases.

Development of Head-cook's Education and Training Curriculum by Analyzing Job Characteristics and Competencies in Contract Foodservice Management Company

  • The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the job characteristics and competencies of a head-cook in contracted foodservice management company, identify the knowledge, abilities, skills and other characteristics (KASO) required to perform the duties of a head-cook, and provide training content and develop training program for job of head-cook in contract foodservice management company (CFMC). A survey instrument including identified KASO was used in the study. The questionnaire was delivered by using e-mail to 165 head-cooks employed by CFMC. The factor analysis resulted in a three-factor structure of the instrument such as 'basic foodservice operation duties' 'personal characteristics' 'managing of expanded duties-menu, customer and business'. This result suggested the education and training program for head-cook in CFMC should be composed of 'basic foodservice operation duties' on 'bulk preparation', 'procurement, inventory management', 'facility and equipment management', and 'sanitation and safety management', 'personal characteristics' on 'personality management' and 'moral duties', and 'managing of expanded duties-menu, customer and business' on 'menu management', 'customer service management', 'cost management', and 'administrative ability'. Therefore, it will be expected that the management of human resources in the contract foodservice industry would be developed by the application of recommended education and training program.

가정복지서비스 프로그램개발을 위한 기초연구 (A Preliminary Study on Development of Family Welfare Service Program)

  • The purpose of this study were to identify the differences between the demand for education program and the demand for counseling program of family welfare and to analyze the relation between demographic characteristics and the demand for family welfare service program For these purposes, total sample of 909 women those residing in Seoul, Inchon, Taejun, Taegu, Pusan, Kwangju, Chungju, Junju and Choonchun, were selected. Statistics were frequencies, means, percentile, cross-tabulation, t-test and Anova. The results were as follows. First, in family welfare service program on children and adolescents, the improvement in family living, consumption, retirement planning, health management, protection of environment and resource, volunteering and the advance of living culture, the demand for education program were higher than the demand for cunseling program. In particular, demands for both education program and counseling program on children and adolescents were the highest. Second, age, residence and income had very significant effects on the demands for both education program and counseling program. By understanding these differences in the demand for education program and counseling program of family welfare, practitioners and educators may be able to develop family welfare service program to solve family problems.

  • In this study the dynamic characteristics of automatic transmission system due to the change of the planetary gear ratio is studied. To study the power flow and shift quality for power transmission the simulation program is developed using the modeling and analysis technique. The results from this study will be used in designing the basic structure of automatic transmission using planetary gear system.

농촌 거주 중년 비만여성을 위한 비만관리 프로그램의 효과 (Effects of a Primary Healthcare Post Obesity Management Program for Middle-Aged Obese Women Living in Rural Areas)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze changes in body weight (kg) and body mass index (BMI) in middle-aged women following a 12 week exercise program. Methods: The obesity management program for primary health care posts, which consists of exercise therapy and dietary counseling, was provided for obese women aged 40 to 64 (N=15). General characteristics of the women and differences in body weight and BMI before and after the program were analyzed using SPSS 22.0. Results: The major findings of this study are as follows; Average body weight before the program was 65.7 kg, and it was significantly reduced to 63.9 kg after the program (z = -3.41, p = .001). The average level of BMI decreased considerably from 27.9 kg/m2 to 27.2 kg/m2 (z = -3.41, p = .001). Conclusion: The findings from this study show a significant decrease in body weight and BMI after the program. Continuous study is needed to develop a variety of obesity management programs for middle-aged obese women. When developing programs regional characteristics need to be considered and there is a need to confirm the effectiveness of the programs.

과학고등학교 학생을 대상으로 한 공학적 문제해결 중심 메이커톤 프로그램의 개발 및 효과 (A Study on Effects of Make-A-Thon Program based on Engineering Problem Solving for Science high school students)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and apply a make-a-thon program based on engineering problem solving for science high school students and to analyze the changes of participating students. Through the consultation of teachers and experts, a team-based and student-driven engineering problem-solving-oriented make-a-thon program was developed. And, the program operated using KAIST's human and material resources for 51 students. Students composed of 12 teams studied 12 topics through an engineering problem-solving process, and the overall program satisfaction was very high, on average 4.62. Through this program, students' creative leader competency have been positively changed, especially in cognitive characteristics (diffusion thinking, problem solving ability) and social characteristics (pursuit of social values). Attitudes toward engineering also changed positively, especially in terms of difficulty of engineering, interest in engineering, gender role in engineering, and engineering and occupational factors. In conclusion, it was confirmed that this program is very effective for science high school students with high demand for engineering education.

SSC(Small-Scale Chemistry)실험이 과학영재의 과학적 태도, 창의적 성격 특성 및 과학탐구 능력에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of SSC(Small-Scale Chemistry) Lab Program on Scientifically Gifted Students' Scientific Attitude, Creative Personality Characteristics and Science Inquiry Skills)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 SSC 실험을 과학영재 수업에 적용한 후 얻을 수 있는 효과를 조사하는 것이다. 연구 참여자는 대학부설 과학영재교육원에 선발되어 교육받고 있는 15명의 중학생 과학영재 학생이다. SSC 실험 프로그램은 3개월간 5가지 주제로 적용되었다. 연구 설계는 단일집단 사전-사후 설계였으며 PASW 18 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 데이터를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, SSC 실험은 과학영재 학생의 과학적 태도를 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상시켰다(p<.01). 특히 과학적 태도 하위 영역 중 '협동성', '자진성', '끈기성' 영역에서 사전검사와 사후검사 점수 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, SSC 실험은 과학영재 학생의 창의적 성격 특성을 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상시켰다(p<.01). 특히 창의적 성격 특성의 하위 영역 중 '집착성' 영역에서 사전검사와 사후검사 점수 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, SSC 실험을 적용하기 전과 후에 과학영재 학생의 과학탐구 능력에서는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다(p>.05). 연구 결과는 SSC 실험이 과학영재 수업에 효과적인 프로그램임을 시사한다.
