  • This paper presents the improved KLT(Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi) of registration of Image sequence captured by camera mounted on unmanned helicopter assuming without camera attitude information. It consists of following procedures for the proposed image registration. The initial interested points are detected by characteristic curve matching via dynamic programming which has been used for detecting and tracking corner points thorough image sequence. Outliers of tracked points are then removed by using Random Sample And Consensus(RANSAC) robust estimation and all remained corner points are classified as inliers by homography algorithm. The rectified images are then resampled by bilinear interpolation. Experiment shows that our method can make the suitable registration of image sequence with large motion.

  • Pathogens Burkholderia pseudomallei (Bp) and Burkholderia mallei (Bm) contain a large number (> 12,000) of Simple Sequence Repeats (SSRs). To study the extent to which these features have contributed to the diversification of genes, we have conducted comparative studies with nineteen genomes of these bacteria. We found 210 genes with characteristic types of SSR variations. SSRs with nonamer repeat units were the most abundant, followed by hexamers and trimers. Amino acids with smaller and nonpolar R-groups are preferred to be encoded by the variant SSRs, perhaps due to their minimal impacts to protein functionality. A majority of these genes appears to code for surface or secreted proteins that may directly interact with the host factors during pathogenesis or other environmental factors. There also are others that encode diverse functions in the cytoplasm, and this protein variability may reflect an extensive involvement of phase variation in survival and adaptation of these pathogens.

  • Chaotic OOK(On-Off Keying) modulation method can be used in LDR(Low Data Rate) UWB systems. The chaotic generator in one of the most important circuit in this system. The traditional chaotic generator circuits using analog feed back technique have low yield characteristic due to the process variation. A novel quasi-chaotic signal generator using digital PN-sequence in proposed in this paper and verified in 0.18um CMOS teleology.

  • Research on calibration of array antenna has become a hot spot in the area of signal processing and it is necessary to obtain the phase mismatch of each antenna channel. This paper presents a new calibration method for an array antenna system. In order to calibrate the phase mismatch of each antenna channel, we used primary synchronization signal (PSS) which exists in LTE downlink frame. Primary synchronization signal (PSS) is based on a Zadoff-Chu sequence which has a good correlation characteristic. By using correlation calculation, we can extract primary synchronization signal (PSS). After extracting primary synchronization signal (PSS), we use it to calibrate and reduce the phase errors of each antenna channel. In order to verify the new array antenna calibration algorithm which is proposed in this paper, we have simulated the proposed algorithm by using MATLAB. The array antenna system consists of two antenna elements. The phase mismatch of first antenna and second antenna is calculated accurately by proposed algorithm in the experiment test. Theory analysis and MATLAB simulation results are shown to verify the calibration algorithm.

  • This paper presents an algorithm for effective retrieval of score information to an input score image. The originality of the proposed algorithm is that it is designed to be robust to recognition errors by an OMR (Optical Music Recognition), while existing methods such as pitch histogram requires error induced OMR result be corrected before retrieval process. This approach helps people to retrieve score without training on music score for error correction. OMR takes a score image as input, recognizes musical symbols, and produces structural symbolic notation of the score as output, for example, in MusicXML format. Among the musical symbols on a score, it is observed that filled noteheads are rarely detected with errors with its simple black filled round shape for OMR processing. Barlines that separate measures also strong to OMR errors with its long uniform length vertical line characteristic. The proposed algorithm consists of a descriptor for a score and a similarity measure between a query score and a reference score. The descriptor is based on note-count, the number of filled noteheads in a measure. Each part of a score is represented by a sequence of note-count numbers. The descriptor is an n-gram sequence of the note-count sequence. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm works successfully to a certain degree in score image-based retrieval for an erroneous OMR output.

  • Let {$X_i$, $1{\leq}i{\leq}n$} be a sequence of i.i.d. sequence of positive random variables with common absolutely continuous cumulative distribution function F(x) and probability density function f(x) and $E(X^2)$ < ${\infty}$. The random variables X + Y and $\frac{(X-Y)^2}{(X+Y)^2}$ are independent if and only if X and Y have gamma distributions. In addition, the random variables $S_n$ and $\frac{\sum_{i=1}^{m}(X_i)^2}{(S_n)^2}$ with $S_n=\sum_{i=1}^{n}X_i$ are independent for $1{\leq}m$ < n if and only if $X_i$ has gamma distribution for $i=1,{\cdots},n$.

  • In this paper, new binary cyclic codes (hereafter, refered to as GMW code) which are generated by using GMW sequence, g(t) = tr((trk(a))r), and its cyclic shifts are introduced. Code length of GMW codes is 2a-1, where k is composite integer, e·J. Dimension of the GMW codes is k(k/j)w-1, where w is a Hamming weight of r. Several properties of GMW codes such as designed distance, minimum distance, and weights of code words are obtained in terms of parameters of GMW sequences. And expansion of GMW sequences in terms of m-sequence and its decimation sequences are introduced and characteristic polynomials of GMW sequences are also derived.

  • An open reading frame, designated GerGTII and located downstream of the polyketide synthase genes, has been identified as a chalcosyltransferase by sequence analysis in the dihydrochalcomycin biosynthetic gene cluster of Streptomyces sp. KCTC 0041BP. The deduced product of gerGTII is similar to several glycosyltransferases, authentic and putative, and it displays a consensus sequence motif that appears to be characteristic of a sub-group of these enzymes. Specific disruption of gerGTII within the S. sp. KCTC 0041BP genome by insertional in-frame deletion method, resulted complete abolishment of dihydrochalcomycin and got the 20-O-mycinosyl-dihydrochalconolide as intermediate product in dihydrochalcomycin biosynthesis which was confirmed by electron spray ionization-mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Dihydrochalcomycin also was recovered after complementation of gerGTII.

  • In this paper, we investigate a noise reduction scheme, based on the inherent characteristic of an orthogonal sequence. The modulated orthogonal code generates sequences of length $N^{2}$ from N information symbols. Using the amplitudes of the received symbols, we first estimate the location of the smallest amplitude noise. Then the noise is reduced by the suggested system. The performance of the scheme is confirmed by computer simulation results.
