This paper proposes a technique to select processors and hardware IPs and to map the tasks into the selected processing elements, aming to achieve high performance with minimal system cost when multitask applications with real-time constraints are run on a multicore SoC. Such technique is called to 'Hardware-Software Cosynthesis Technique'. A cosynthesis technique was already presented in our early work [1] where we divide the complex cosynthesis problem into three subproblems and conquer each subproblem separately: selection of appropriate processing components, mapping and scheduling of function blocks to the selected processing component, and schedulability analysis. Despite good features, our previous technique has a serious limitation that a task monopolizes the entire system resource to get the minimum schedule length. But in general we may obtain higher performance in multitask multicore system if independent multiple tasks are running concurrently on different processor cores. In this paper, we present two mapping techniques, task mapping avoidance technique(TMA) and task mapping pinning technique(TMP), which are applicable for general cases with diverse operating policies in a multicore environment. We could obtain significant performance improvement for a multimedia real-time application, multi-channel Digital Video Recorder system and for randomly generated multitask graphs obtained from the related works.

The most important industrial application of gamma radiation in characterizing green compacts is the determination of the density. Examples are given where this method is applied in manufacturing technical components in powder metallurgy. The requirements imposed by modern quality management systems and operation by the workforce in industrial production are described. The accuracy of measurement achieved with this method is demonstrated and a comparison is given with other test methods to measure the density. The advantages and limitations of gamma ray densitometry are outlined. The gamma ray densitometer measures the attenuation of gamma radiation penetrating the test parts (Fig. 1). As the capability of compacts to absorb this type of radiation depends on their density, the attenuation of gamma radiation can serve as a measure of the density. The volume of the part being tested is defined by the size of the aperture screeniing out the radiation. It is a channel with the cross section of the aperture whose length is the height of the test part. The intensity of the radiation identified by the detector is the quantity used to determine the material density. Gamma ray densitometry can equally be performed on green compacts as well as on sintered components. Neither special preparation of test parts nor skilled personnel is required to perform the measurement; neither liquids nor other harmful substances are involved. When parts are exhibiting local density variations, which is normally the case in powder compaction, sectional densities can be determined in different parts of the sample without cutting it into pieces. The test is non-destructive, i.e. the parts can still be used after the measurement and do not have to be scrapped. The measurement is controlled by a special PC based software. All results are available for further processing by in-house quality documentation and supervision of measurements. Tool setting for multi-level components can be much improved by using this test method. When a densitometer is installed on the press shop floor, it can be operated by the tool setter himself. Then he can return to the press and immediately implement the corrections. Transfer of sample parts to the lab for density testing can be eliminated and results for the correction of tool settings are more readily available. This helps to reduce the time required for tool setting and clearly improves the productivity of powder presses. The range of materials where this method can be successfully applied covers almost the entire periodic system of the elements. It reaches from the light elements such as graphite via light metals (AI, Mg, Li, Ti) and their alloys, ceramics ($AI_20_3$, SiC, Si_3N_4, $Zr0_2$, ...), magnetic materials (hard and soft ferrites, AlNiCo, Nd-Fe-B, ...), metals including iron and alloy steels, Cu, Ni and Co based alloys to refractory and heavy metals (W, Mo, ...) as well as hardmetals. The gamma radiation required for the measurement is generated by radioactive sources which are produced by nuclear technology. These nuclear materials are safely encapsulated in stainless steel capsules so that no radioactive material can escape from the protective shielding container. The gamma ray densitometer is subject to the strict regulations for the use of radioactive materials. The radiation shield is so effective that there is no elevation of the natural radiation level outside the instrument. Personal dosimetry by the operating personnel is not required. Even in case of malfunction, loss of power and incorrect operation, the escape of gamma radiation from the instrument is positively prevented.
In this study noise source in a ward at four general hospitals in Seoul area has been investigated and analysed. The degree of reaction against noise by 171 randomly has also been examined. The results of the study have shown that the source of noise is the speakers of wired broadcasting or from visiting guests in two hospitals located in residential area. The patients at the two other hospitals located at commercial site have been suffered more from traffic noise. However, because of their separated living at hospital from their ordinary houselife, sixty one percent of the inpatients have wished a music sound of around 60 dB (A). After having considered the results of the investigation and wishes of the inpatients, following suggestions have been made: 1. Reduce the number of guests or their length of stay. 2. Wired broadcasting system should be substitued by wireless one, or if it's unavoidable, it should be used in office rooms only. 3. Since the stops and starts of vehicles induce much noise, Seoul City Government be requested to prepare an appropriate administrative measure for the vehicles around hospital area and it should prevent the establishment of new hospitals along high way site. 4. By using earphone, inpatients can choose a wireless channel according to each individual's taste. This through the masking effect, would cover up the noise source. 5. Rooms along the streets should be utilized as offices, otherwise double windows should be set up for inpatient's wards.
Accelerated soil erosion due to extreme climate change, such as increased rainfall intensity, and human-induced environmental changes, is a widely recognized problem. Existing soil erosion models are generally based on the gross erosion concept to compute annual upland soil loss in tons per acre per year. However, such models are not suitable for event-based simulations of erosion and deposition in time and space. Recent advances in computer geographic information system (GIS) technologies have allowed hydrologists to develop physically based models, and the trend in erosion prediction is towards process-based models, instead of conceptually lumped models. This study aims to propose an effective and robust distributed rainfall-sediment yield-runoff model consisting of basic element modules: a rainfall-runoff module based on the kinematic wave method for subsurface and surface flow, and a runoff-sediment yield-runoff model based on the unit stream power method. The model was tested on the Cheoncheon catchment, upstream of the Yongdam dam using hydrological data for three extreme flood events due to typhoons. The model provided acceptable simulation results with respect to both discharge and sediment discharge even though the simulated sedigraphs were underestimated, compared to observations. The spatial distribution of erosion and deposition demonstrated that eroded sediment loads were deposited in the cells along the channel network, which have a short overland flow length and a gentle local slope while the erosion rate increased as rainfall became larger. Additionally, spatially heterogeneous rainfall intensity, dependant on Thiessen polygons, led to spatially-distinct erosion and deposition patterns.
Active method MASW(Multi channel Analysis of Surface Waves), which is one of the surface wave exploration methods, has the difficulties to supply enough shear wave velocity log, caused by short spread length and lack of low frequency energy. To make up this defect, the passive method MASW survey is taked and analysised in Daeku subway construction site, Jungpyung-dong Gyeongsan city. The passive method MASW using the microtremor, improve the quality of the overtone record by applying the azimuth correction caused offline sources. And combing with active overtone record which is acquired by same geometry has the benefits of improve shallow depth resolution and extend possible investigation depth. To take the optimized acquisition parameters, the 2m, 4m, and 6m geophone spacing is tested. And 2m spacing overtone image could make the reliable shear wave velocity log.

We have presented a compact two-wire helical antenna adopted an open stub in opposite to a feeding point, which is for a T-DMB antenna of mobile devices. By adjusting the length of the open stub or pasting a dielectric material on the open stub, the input impedance around 200 MHz, bands of the T-DMB, can be easily control, even though the total height of the antenna is less than 8 cm(0.053 $\lambda$ at 200 MHz). The operating mechanism of the antenna is explained by using equivalent circuits of two modes, an unbalanced mode and a balanced mode. Based on the analysis of the equivalent circuits, the effects of using the open stub are validated. Several proposed antennas have been fabricated and measured. One of the fabricated antennas has -10 dB impedance bandwidth of $196{\sim}204$ MHz(8 MHz) whose value covers one channel of the T-DMB(6 MHz). The measured $S_{21}$ of the antenna is -38.6 dB which is about 17 dB higher than that of a monopole antenna whose height is same with the proposed antenna.

This paper deals with the mMMA (modified MMA) which possible to improving the convergence speed that employing the serial connecting form of two stage digital filter instead of signal filter of MMA adaptive equalizer without applying the variable step size for compensates the intersymbol interference by channel distortion in the nonconstant modulus signal. The adaptive equalizer can be implemented by signal digital filter using the finite order tap delay line. In this paper, the equalizer is implemented by the two stage serial form and the filter coefficient are updated by the error signal using the same algorithm of MMA in each stage. The fast convergence speed is determined in the first stage, and the residual isi left at the output of first stage output is minimized in the second stage filter. The same digital filter length was considered in single stage and two stage system and the performance of these systems were compared. The performance index includes the output signal constellation, the residual isi and maximum distortion, MSE that is measure of the convergence characteristics, the SER. As a result of computer simulation, mMMA that has a FIR structure of two stage, has more good performance in every performance index except the constellation diagram due to equalization noise and improves the convergence speed about 1.5~1.8 time than the present MMA that has a FIR structure of single stage.

The LDPC(Low-Density Parity-Check) code, which is one of the channel encoding methods in IEEE 802.11n wireless LAN standard, has superior error-correcting capabilities. Since the hardware complexity of LDPC decoder is high, it is very important to take into account the trade-offs between hardware complexity and decoding performance. In this paper, the effects of LLR(Log-Likelihood Ratio) approximation on the performance of MSA(Min-Sum Algorithm)-based LDPC decoder are analyzed, and some optimal design conditions are derived. The parity check matrix with block length of 1,944 bits and code rate of 1/2 in IEEE 802.11n WLAN standard is used. In the case of $BER=10^{-3}$, the $E_b/N_o$ difference between LLR bit-widths (6,4) and (7,5) is 0.62 dB, and $E_b/N_o$ difference for iteration cycles 6 and 7 is 0.3 dB. The simulation results show that optimal BER performance can be achieved by LLR bit-width of (7,5) and iteration cycle of 7.
We successfully fabricated 4.7-inch organic thin film transistors array with $640{\times}480$ pixels on flexible substrate. All the processes were done by photolithography, spin coating and ink-jet printing. The OTFT-Electrophoretic (EP) pixel structure, based on a top gate OTFT, was fabricated. The mobility, ON/OFF ratio, subthreshold swing and threshold voltage of OTFT on flexible substrate are: 0.01 ^2/V-s, 1.3 V/dec, 10E5 and -3.5 V. After laminated the EP media on OTFT array, a panel of 4.7-inch $640{\times}480$ OTFT-EPD was fabricated. All of process temperature in OTFT-EPD is lower than $150^{\circ}C$. The pixel size in our panel is $150{\mu}m{\times}150{\mu}m$, and the aperture ratio is 50 %. The OTFT channel length and width is 20 um and 200um, respectively. We also used OTFT to drive EP media successfully. The operation voltages that are used on the gate bias are -30 V during the row data selection and the gate bias are 0 V during the row data hold time. The data voltages that are used on the source bias are -20 V, 0 V, and 20 V during display media operation.
PV/Thermal module is the combined system, which consist of a photovoltaic module and solar thermal collector that can obtain electrical power and thermal energy simultaneously. Thus the power generation can be increase by decreasing the temperature of photovoltaic module and thermal energy retrieved from module also can be used for heating system. In this study, Heat transfer performance of air type PV/Thermal module was confirmed with various bottom obstacles that can be installed easily to real photovoltaic module by CFD (computational fluid dynamics) analysis. Eight type obstacles were investigated according to the shape and arrangement. As a result, nusselt number represent heat transfer performance was increased about 86% compare with the basic type PV/Tthermal module that has no obstacle and triangle type obstacle had higher value than other types. But pressure drop was also increased with increment of heat transfer enhancement. Thus the performance factor considering both heat transfer and pressure drop was confirmed and V-fin type obstacle arranged in a row for Reynolds number below 9,600 and protrusion type obstacle arranged in zigzag for Reynolds number above 14,400 were shown higher performance factor than other types. From these results, V-fin type obstacle arranged in row and protrusion type obstacle arranged in zigzag were considered as a proper type for applying to real PV/thermal module according to operating condition. But the heat transfer performance can be changed by the geometric conditions of obstacle such as height, width, length and arrangement. Thus, it could also confirmed that the optimal condition and arrangement of this obstacle need to be found in further study.
