  • In this paper, an analysis technique is presented for performing the effective design of bus structure. Sensitivity analysis is carried out for the natural frequency of component structures consisting of bus B.I.W. Local vibration modes of substructure, which large affect on the global vibration mode of the bus B.I.W., are obtained through the sensitivity analysis technique using the mathematical chain rule. And also the design variables, which are determined from the sensitivity analysis, are redesigned through optimum design process. The proposed analysis technique shows that the bus structure can be effectively designed considering the vibration characteristics.

  • The influence of protecting groups on the β-sheet-structure-stability of protected peptides was studied in organic solvents. α-amino groups, carboxyl groups and side chain functional groups of model peptides were protected by suitable groups commonly used in peptide synthesis. The difference of the solubilities of model peptides was investigated by the solvent-titration method by using IR absorption spectra. The β-sheet structure of model peptide in CH2Cl2 was easily disrupted by increasing the amounts of DMSO. The β-sheet-structure-stabilizing potentials of each protecting group showed similar behaviors except Npys, Mts and Z2. The result exhibits that the < SPβ > values of protected peptides are almost independent of the kinds of their protecting groups.

  • In the molecular dynamics study of polymeric membranes, it is very important to select the proper length of the polymer main chain because it requires a large number of constituent atoms and a long time to simulate the permeation behavior. In this study, we tried to investigate how the correlation between polymer main chain length and permeation behavior appears in actual molecular dynamics simulation results. Molecular dynamics were performed using the widely known commercial polymer Kapton(R) polyimide structure and the gas permeation behavior was simulated. The movement of the polymer main chain was not related to its length and the short main chain length did not act more actively. In addition, unlike the prediction that the end group of the polymer main chain is relatively easy to move, there are many cases where the atoms located at the middle of the polymer main chains have a higher movement than the atoms located at the end groups. Finally, permeabilities of the gas molecules was not affected by the length of the main chain and the end groups of the polymer, which indicates that the end effect should be carefully mentioned and followed by the verification process.

  • The demand for biopharmaceuticals is on the rise spurred by the fourth industrial revolution and an aging society in Korea. Consequently, the scale of the biopharmaceutical industry is continuously increasing globally, thereby leading to an increase in the distribution of biopharmaceuticals. However, the relative inferiority of the domestic drug distribution structure, when compared to the advanced countries, and strict logistics regulations concerning the handling of biopharmaceuticals have raised the need for systematic management. Essentially, the significance of third-party logistics companies in the cold chain for pharmaceutical cold chain has increased with an intense management environment for pharmaceuticals. The purpose of this study is to investigate the selection factors of drug cold chain's third-party logistics companies and to examine the influence of selection factors on satisfaction. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to investigate how cold chain third-party logistics factors affect the satisfaction of third-party logistics in cold chain. The results of analysis showed that expertise, facility, and linkage are factors affect customer satisfaction. The managerial capacity was derived not as an influential factor. These findings suggest that the future cold chain industry will be equipped to provide direction and strategic implications.

  • This study investigates the impact of supply chain collaboration on performance in social economy in Korea. Collaboration is an effective method to overcome the disadvantages of newness and smallness of domestic social economy organizations. Nevertheless, most research on social economy examined conceptual relationship between collaboration and performance. Hence, this study focuses on empirically demonstrating the relationship between supply chain collaboration and performance in social economy. We identify two steps of supply chain collaboration structure, i.e., collaboration culture and collaboration implementation, and establish a research model to analyze the impact of collaboration of social economy organization on performance. Based on responses to a survey of 99 social economy organizations, we test the hypotheses in the theoretical model using PLS structural equation modeling. The result shows that both the effect of collaboration culture on collaboration implementation and the effect of collaboration implementation on performance are significant. This study contributes to the social economy literature by empirically investigating the impact of collaboration in social economy organizations on performance based on supply chain theories, and by expanding the application scope of supply chain theories to social economy organizations.

  • Amylose contents and amylopectin chain architecture of sorghmn and waxy sorghum starches were determined and compared with those of other common cereal and tuber starches. Also, in vitro digestibility of sorghum starch was estimated using a novel methodology. The absolute amylose content of sorghum starch was similar to that of com and wheat starches. The side chain length distribution patterns for sorghum and waxy sorghum amylopectin were very similar to those of com and waxy com, respectively. The $k_{cat}/K_m$ values for sorghum and potato amylopectin did not show a significant difference. The kinetic parameters could be used as novel indicators for starch digestibility.

  • The new organic semiconductors which are composed of divinylbenzene core unit and alkoxynaphthalene on both sides, 1,4-bis-2-(6-octyloxy)naphthalen-2-ylvinylbenzene (BONVB), 1,4-bis-2-(6-decyloxy)naphthalen-2-ylvinylbenzene (BDNVB) and 1,4-bis-2-(6-dodecyloxy)naphthalen-2-ylvinylbenzene (BDDNVB) were synthesized by Wittig reaction. The structures of obtained BONVB, BDNVB and BDDNVB were confirmed by FT-IR and mass spectroscopy. UV-absorption of thin film showed H-aggregates and J-aggregates due to closely packed structure between adjacent molecules. The characterization of vacuum-evaporated films by Xray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) showed that the chain length of alkoxy group affects the crystallinity and morphology. BONVB with octyloxy group showed the mobility of $0.011cm^2/V{\cdot}s$, on/off ratio of $1.31{\times}10^5$, and a subthreshold slope of 0.93 V.

  • This paper presents a new technique for generating precise clock delays. The technique can obtain finer timing resolution less than the gate delay of the delay chain by locking in multiple clock period. Using this technique, a 250ps of timing resolution could be achieved from a 750ps delay of the single delay stage in a DLL(Delay Locked Loop) structure. The delay chain of the proposed circuit is locked on three times of the clock period and a finer delay resolution than the absolute gate delay is achieved and verified through the simulation.

  • Using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) measurements, we studied the adsorption of hydrogen on the Si(111)$4{\times}1$-In surface at room temperature. The H atom features are found to be located between the two protrusions in one side of the $4{\times}1$ chain. The adsorbed H preferentially occupies one of the two zigzag In subchains, suggesting that the adsorption of H is influenced by the subsurface structure. The adsorbed H atom induces not only a localized distortion but also perturbs the distant region and results in a period-doubling modulations in the STM images. This H-induced perturbation differs from the Na-Induced perturbation on the same surface.

  • Recently, an ERP (Enterprise resource Planning) system has been becoming an essential S/W tool for companies to manage their business processes and manufacturing resources. As the information exchange becomes more complex, not only corporate companies but also small- and mid- sized enterprises (SMEs) are required to build an ERP system. However, for small- and middle- sized companies, the adoption of ERP systems becomes challenging due to high cost and long installation time of the system. This paper presents a novel concept of an adaptive ERP system incorporating the ontology structure of the business supply chain information. The proposed ERP installation methodology is illustrated with an example of a door-trim manufacturing company in the automotive supply chain.
