By applying Theorem 2.6.4 (Fang and Zhang, 1990, p.66) the dispersion matrix of a multivariate power exponential (MPE) distribution is derived. It is shown that the MPE and the gamma distributions are related and thus the MPE and chi-square distributions are related. By extending Fang and Xu's Theorem (1987) from the normal distribution to the Univariate Power Exponential (UPE) distribution an explicit expression is derived for calculating the probability of an UPE random variable over an interval. A representation of the characteristic function (c.f.) for an UPE distribution is given. Based on the MPE distribution the probability density functions of the generalized non-central chi-square, the generalized non-central t, and the generalized non-central F distributions are derived.

A map is singular if each edge is on the same face on a surface (i.e., those have only one face on a surface). Because any map with loop is not colorable, all maps here are assumed to be loopless. In this paper po-vides the explicit expression of chromatic sum functions for rooted singular maps on the projective plane, the torus and the Klein bottle. From the explicit expression of chromatic sum functions of such maps, the explicit expression of enumerating functions of such maps are also derived.

Inspired by the results obtained by Brychkov ([2]), the authors evaluate a large number of new and interesting double definite integrals. The results are obtained with the use of classical hypergeometric summation theorems and a well-known double finite integral due to Edwards ([3]). The results are given in terms of Psi and Hurwitz zeta functions suitable for numerical computations.

In this study, we investigate the curvature functions of ruled surface with lightlike ruling for a null curve with Cartan frame in Minkowski 3-space. Also, we give relations between the curvature functions of this ruled surface and curvature functions of central normal surface. Finally, we use the curvature theory of the ruled surface for determine differential properties of a robot end-effector motion.

Recently several authors have extended the Gamma function, Beta function, the hypergeometric function, and the confluent hypergeometric function by using their integral representations and provided many interesting properties of their extended functions. Here we aim at giving further extensions of the abovementioned extended functions and investigating various formulas for the further extended functions in a systematic manner. Moreover, our extension of the Beta function is shown to be applied to Statistics and also our extensions find some connections with other special functions and polynomials such as Laguerre polynomials, Macdonald and Whittaker functions.

The paradigm of urban generation does not lie in physical development/maintenance such as urban redevelopment any more. The paradigm is shifting to balanced activation of administration / management functions including central commerce/business functions, broad culture/tourism functions, international functions and adequate level of residence functions. The urban regeneration project aims to restore functions of cities by physical/environmental, living/cultural and industrial/economical regeneration and is managed differently from existing projects in that it includes multiple sub-projects in it. The overall projects management should be by managing the value sought by the urban regeneration project and multiple other sub-projects. The objective of this study is to present various methods of value management in order to avoid conflicts between various objectives within the said project. It aims to provide the value management methods for decision making by understanding correlatedness between values of various projects and prioritizing them.

Motivated by several generalizations of the Pochhammer symbol and their associated families of hypergeometric functions and hypergeometric polynomials, by choosing to use a very generalized Pochhammer symbol, we aim to introduce certain extensions of the generalized Lauricella function F⁽ⁿ⁾_A and the Humbert's confluent hypergeometric function Ψ⁽ⁿ⁾ of n variables with, as their respective particular cases, the second Appell hypergeometric function F₂ and the generalized Humbert's confluent hypergeometric functions Ψ₂ and investigate their several properties including, for example, various integral representations, finite summation formulas with an s-fold sum and integral representations involving the Laguerre polynomials, the incomplete gamma functions, and the Bessel and modified Bessel functions. Also, pertinent links between the major identities discussed in this article and different (existing or novel) findings are revealed.

In this research, a multi-objective optimal design of a scroll compressor lower frame was approximated, and the design parameters of the lower frame were selected. The sensitivity of the design parameters was induced through a parameter analysis, and the thickness was determined to be the most sensitive parameter to stress and deflection. All of the design parameters regarding the mass are sensitive factors. It was formulated for the problem about stress and deflection to be caused by the axial load. The sensitivity of the design variables was determined using an orthogonal array for the parameter analysis. Using the central composite and D-optimal designs, a second polynomial approximation of the objective and constraint functions was formulated and the accuracy was verified through an R-square. These functions were applied to the optimal design program (NSGA-II). Through a CAE analysis, the effectiveness of the central composite and D-optimal designs was determined.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is one of the most common endocrine disrupters. In the last decade, the number of studies concerning the effects of chronic treatment with BPA on the development of the central nervous system (CNS) has increased. However, little is known about the effects of chronic exposure to BPA on higher brain functions such as memory or psychomotor functions. Here, we report our following findings: (1) Prenatal and neonatal exposure to BPA enhances psychostimulant-induced rewarding effects, results in the up- or downregulation of dopamine receptors, causes memory impairment, and decreases choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) activity. (2) BPA activates astrocytes in vivo and in vitro. These findings suggest that prenatal and neonatal exposure to BPA affects the development of the CNS.
