Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing nursing students' caring efficiency. Methods: This study included 212 nursing students from three University nursing departments in Busan metropolitan city. Data were collected from September 1 to September 29, 2021, using self-report questionnaires. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression analyses were conducted with SPSS version 24.0. Results: Positive psychological capital and interpersonal competence on the relationship and character of nursing students were positively correlated with caring efficiency. The variables affecting the caring efficiency of the subjects were character (β=.60, p<.001), amount of participation in a character development program (5 times or more) (β=.16, p=.023), levels of stress (moderate β=.13, p=.037; low β=.15, p=.015), motivation to apply to a nursing program (β=.12, p=.024), and volunteer experience (β=.11, p=.038). The total explanatory power of the variables was 50.0% (F=14.69, p<.001). Conclusion: Character was one of the biggest influential factors on caring efficiency. In order to improve nursing students' caring efficiency, above all, it is necessary to make efforts to raise the level of individual character.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the mediating effect of the nursing professionalism in the relationship between nurse's character and nursing intention caring for high risk pathogen infected patients in the tertiary hospital nurses. Methods: This study used a crosssectional descriptive design. The participants were 129 nurses from two tertiary hospitals. The questionnaire consisted of tools measuring clinical nursing personality, nursing professionalism and nursing intention caring for high risk pathogen infected patients in the tertiary hospital nurses. The data were analyzed using independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple linear regression. Results: There were significant relationships between nurse's character and nursing professionalism (r=.59, p<.001), nurse's character and nursing intention caring for high risk pathogen infected patients (r=.54, p<.001), and nursing professionalism and nursing intention caring for high risk pathogen infected patients (r=.54, p<.001). In the relationship between nurse's character and nursing intention caring for high risk pathogen infected patients, nursing professionalism had a partial mediating effect. Conclusion: This current study suggests that strategies for improving nursing professionalism in nurses should be considered when developing an educational program for enhancing their nursing intention caring for high risk pathogen infected patients.

The purposes of this study was to find aesthetical-ethical paradigm of care ethics by understanding the unique moral character of care as an art and to suggest the optimal direction of nursing ethics. Method: This study used meaning-heuristic and -interpretive methods of hermeneutics based on philosophical aesthetic theory; Baumgarten's aesthetics, Schiller's theory of aesthetical education and Kant's theory of aesthetical judgement. Result: The concept of care implied aesthetical and ethical character; caring as an art was related to moral feeling based on human dignity und emotional communication in interpersonal-relationship. Caring as an art was interpreted as a moral ideal for the promotion of the humanity und the interaction in personal-relationship according to nursing theories. Philosophical aesthetics could provide the theoretical base for the interpretation of caring as an art. The proper paradigm of care ethics in nursing could be found in character-trait ethics and communication ethics according to the philosophical aesthetics. Conclusion: This study could show aesthetical-ethical paradigm of care ethics in nursing by the heuristic interpretation of caring as an art according to the philosophical aesthetics

This study was to increase the practical preparation of nursing students by identifying how their professionalism, self-leadership, and caring character affect their practical preparation. This study targeted 182 fourth-year students with at least one year of clinical practice experience attending nursing departments at four universities in two regions from April 10 to May 12, 2023. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. As a result of this study, the factor affecting the practical preparation of nursing students was found to be caring personality (β=0.72, p<0.001), the explanatory power of the variables was 51.3%(F=189.41, p<0.001). The results showed that caring personality had an effect on practical readiness. Therefore, we believe that it is necessary to develop various programs related to caring character in order to increase the practical preparation of nursing students.

This paper organized a cooperative activity using character-related picture books for guiding children to cooperate as a part of an effort to present solutions against the increasing tendency of individualism and the de-communization phenomenon among serious social issues affecting children in modern society. This paper aims to help the children to build the proper caring thinking for others and understanding the self by applying those cooperative activities. The subjects were 50 children of 4 years old in K and S day care centers in city C. The data were analyzed by caring thinking tool using t-test. It also recognized change to children's caring thinking of play situation by way of video and observation journal. The results of the research found that the experimental group's caring thinking score was significantly higher than that of the control group. In accordance with the general analysis of the program results, it was verified that the cooperative activity's use of character-related picture books included caring thinking, understanding the self, and respecting others' emotionsin them. The results of this study can be used as basic data to develop an educational activity program for character development and help with the application of character-related picture books.

This study aimed to identify the influence of caring character and knowledge of COVID-19 on interpersonal caring behavior of clinical nurses. The subjects were nurses working at one tertiary hospital in Seoul and two general hospitals in Gyeonggi province. The data were collected from October 15 to November 5, 2021. A total of 130 nurses participated in the online survey. The collected data were analyzed by performing stepwise multiple linear regression using SPSS/Win 27.0. As a result, the factors affecting the interpersonal caring behavior of clinical nurses were caring character (β=.50, p<.001), age (β=-.24, p=.002), and job satisfaction (β=.16, p=.040), and they explained 36.0% of caring behavior (F=24.49, p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to improve caring character and job satisfaction to enhance the interpersonal caring behavior of clinical nurses. More efforts of the hospital should be made to provide caring character building education and to increase job satisfaction of clinical nurses.

Caring is the essence and it is the central and unifying domain for the body of knowledge and practice in nursing. However a clear conceptualization of what caring in nursing does not yet exist. The purpose of this study is to research the phenomenon of caring by obtaining verbal description of the experience of caring in handicapped children, to provide basic information for developing theory of caring, and to teach the humanism centered education. The study design was a descriptive study using phenomenological method. The subjects for this study were 26 nursing students who cared for handicapped children in S rehabilitation center from August, 24 to October. 29 1994. Van kamm's phenomenological method was used for the analysis of the datas. The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of dental hygiene students on the importance of character education, their level of character development and needs for that education in an effort to provide information on how to ensure the efficiency of character education. The subjects in this study were 180 selected dental hygiene students who took a course in "college life and character." After a survey was conducted, the collected data were analyzed by a SPSS 23.0. The findings of the study were as follows: First, as for awareness of the importance of character education, they placed the most importance on the virtue of filial piety and attached the least importance to the virtue of courage. Second, regarding awareness of the importance of character education by general characteristics, what type of high school they graduated from and whether they were religious or not made no differences to that, and there were differences according to academic year. Third, as to the current level of character development, they were most excellent in etiquette and caring. Fourth, the characteristics of the subjects made no differences to their current level of character development. Fifth, in regard to correlation between awareness of the importance of character education and the current level of character development, there was a positive correlation between it and every item except faithfulness. Sixth, as a result of analyzing their needs for character education, they gave top priority to moderation, followed by filial piety, faithfulness, responsibility, courage, wisdom, law abiding, justice, etiquette, respect, cooperation and caring. The results of this study should be used as basic data for character education.

The objective of study is to investigate the degree of burden of family who care for the elderly with dementia and to find out the factors related to the family burden as a pilot study. The number of subjects was total 137 and they were the families who were caring for elderly with dementia. The data was analyzed by SPSS/PC, t-test ANOVA. The results were as follows: 1. The score of family burden who were caring for elderly with dementia was 2.90 and the score of burden was high in case of the limitation of indivisual social activities. which was 3.09 and the lowest score was in case of the health of physical and limited which was 2.58 2. There was the correlation the level of dementia and the degree of burden of family who care for the elderly with dementia in character of dementia (p<0.05). 3. There was the correlation between the abnormal activities of the elderly with dementia and the degree of burdens of family (r=0.330). 4. There was the correlation between ADL of the elderly with dementia and the degree of burdens of family (r=-0.330). 5. The service duration had statistically significant correlation with burden In the character of family (P<0.05). 6. The using facility had statistically significant correlations with burden in the character of socity (P<0.05).

The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a teaching learning process plan for the practice of caring and sharing to improve character of highschool students through Home Economics subject. The teaching learning process plan consisting of 13-session lessons has been developed and implemented according to the ADDIE model for the unit of 'Happy Family Life and Culture led by Family'. The unit was divided into two themes: Theme I caring through sharing and Theme II caring through practice. Six practice elements of caring and sharing such as communication, gratitude, courage, love, empathy, and environment drawn from Theme I are applied to Theme II. Various activities and teaching materials as well as questionnaire were developed. The plan was applied to 8 classes, 287 freshmen of S highschool in Jeonju-si from March to May, 2014. Three factors were drawn from 35 character-related items: self-perception, perception of caring and sharing, and practice of caring and sharing. These factors were related to respondents' satisfaction with family relationships and school life. Two factors except self-perception improved through 13 lessons. Students evaluated that the whole caring and sharing practice lessons of Theme I and II gave them the chance to realize a actual practice in everyday life was important even with small efforts such as cooking for special family. Also students commented that the praising workbook was impressive. All 23 items of evaluation gained from over 3.5 to 4.2 on 5-point scale. It can be concluded that the teaching learning process plan for the practice of caring and sharing for the unit of 'Happy Family Life and Culture led by Family' would improve character of highschool students through the Home Economics subject.
