STEAM education is an effective teaching method to develop self-problem-solving skills through creative thinking. In order to revitalize STEAM education, various program models are being developed recently. The purpose of this study is to develop a STEAM education program based on the project-based learing method that includes the process of solving global environmental problems. The STEAM element was extracted by linking the zero energy house design with the middle school curriculum, and the STEAM education program was developed considering career activities. It was analyzed whether the developed program can improve STEAM core competence and job preparation ability. The education program was conducted for middle school students and the program was evaluated through questionnaires. In order to strengthen the STEAM competency, project-based learning method was applied and it was able to enhance the active problem solving ability of learners. In addition, opportunities for career experience could be provided through career exploration programs and various activities. Through this STEAM education program, it is expected to contribute to cultivating human resources with convergence knowledge and core competency.
The purpose of this study was to verify the causal relationship between self-directed learning ability and career maturity by Middle and High School Students in Seoul. This study used Seoul Education Longitudinal Study(SELS) data. Using autoregressive cross-lagged modeling, the results was followed. first, self-directed learning ability value was had a statistically significant positive effect in accordance with the time course from middle school 1st grade to high school 3rd grade. Second, career maturity also had a statistically significant positive effect in accordance with the time course from middle school 1st grade to high school 3rd grade. Third, previous self-directed learning ability had significant positive effect on the later career maturity, but the previous career maturity had no significant effect on later self-directed learning ability.

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between the self-identity and career maturity of middle school students in Gyeongnam province. For this purpose following questions were formulated. First. Are there statistically significant differences in middle school students' self-identity by their background variables? Second, Are there statistically significant differences in middle school students' career maturity by their background variables? Third, How is the relationship between self-identity and career maturity? Fourth, How are the influences of background variables and self-identity on students' career maturity? Self-identity and career maturity were measured over 551 9th grade students(317 male and 234 female students) in Changwon, Jinju, Geoje, Hadong, Sancheong, and Tongreong areas. Frequency analysis, Cronbach'$\alpha$, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression were used for statistical analysis. The results indicated that: 1. There were statistically significant differences in self-identity by mother's educational level, student's GPA, and economical background; 2. There were statistically significant differences in career maturity by student's gender, mother's educational level, and student's GPA; 3. There was 3. There were high static correlation between self-identity and career maturity and its subordinate items; 4. Sex and self-identity and its sub-items of students' independence, self-receptiveness, firm future goals, goal-orientation, intimacy have relative influences on career maturity.
Purposes: The purpose of this study was to investigate the satisfaction of each activity in the high school students (568 students) after school career education (Career and vocation, Curriculum-related career education, Special lecture related to career, Entrance exam session, Career psychology test, Internet lecture), and then to analyze the career decision-making self-efficacy of the items Goal selection, Job information, Problem solving and Future plan by high, middle, and low group. Methods: Questionnaires administered to subjects after career education counseling education. Results: Career decision - making self - efficacy was significantly higher in the high group than in the middle and low groups in the goal selection, job information, problem-solving and future planning by the educational satisfaction on career and vocation, curriculum-related lectures, entrance examination session (p<.001). The level of satisfaction of special career lectures was in the order of low group> high group> middle group in career decision self - efficacy, and the values of high and low groups were significantly higher than those of the middle group. The effect of satisfaction on career decision self - efficiency in Career psychological examination education was in the order of top> middle> low groups in goal choice and job information, and the high group values were significantly higher than the middle and low groups. In the problem solving and future planning, there was a difference between high, middle, and low group values, but there was no significant difference. The effect of the satisfaction of the internet course on the career decision self - efficacy was not significant, but there was a difference between the high, middle, and low groups. Satisfaction with the internet course was low and did not affect the decision - making self - efficacy significantly. Conclusion: The higher the satisfaction of career education, the higher self - determination efficacy of goal selection, job information, problem solving and future plan. This study suggests the direction of career education.
The purpose of this study was to find out the effects of a career education program during a discretional activity class in elementary school. It established the following questions to achieve the objectives. First, does a career education program In a discretional activity class have an effect on elementary schooler's career maturity? Second, does a career education program in a discretional activity class make an influence on elementary schooler's self-concept? To settle these subjects, it assigned two classes in 5th grade of A elementary school, city of Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, experiment group and control group. It was applied the experiment group a career education program. As for measurement, it was used career maturity level test for elementary and middle schoolers' and 'the self-concept diagnostic test'. It was examined career maturity and self-concept of the groups through the pre-test post-test, applying cross-tabulation analysis to career choices pattern and t-test to career maturity level and self-concept. The results were as follows: First, students of experiment group showed meaningful differences in career choice pattern, career choice attitude, and career choosing skills compared to control group, and that presented a career education program made a positive impact on elementary schooler's career maturity. Second, it showed that there was a significant difference in self-concept, showing students of experiment group took better place. it is believed that a career education program had a potent influence on the self-concept of elementary students.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation among family strength, creative personality, and career maturity. This subjects were the 508 middle school students living in Gwangju. Data was analyzed for frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, cronbach's ${\alpha}$, ANOVA, duncan test, and hierarchical regression analysis using SPSS/PC 18.0 program. The major findings were as follows; First, the middle school students' family strengths, creative personality, and career maturity were higher than median(3.00). Second, career maturity showed significant difference according to all of family strength(family respect and affection, role sharing and problem solving, communication and family bonding, financial stability) and part of creative personality(self-conviction, perseverance/tenacity, openness of thinking, curiosity). Third, the middle school students' career maturity was influenced by self-confidence and humor. And the middle school students' career maturity was explained about 26% by these variables. The outcomes indicated that career maturity of middle school students is affected by creative personality.
The free semester system, introduced on a trial basis in 2013, has been fully implemented in all middle schools since 2016. The free semester system for middle school students is divided into subject activities and free semester activities with the purpose of students' dream and career exploration. While the activities of various vocational groups linked to subjects during the free semester are discussed, studies on the industrial security career education in middle schools are hard to find. In addition, the career sites that provide diverse information on career path for teachers, students and parents with support from the Ministry of Education have not established any program regarding industrial security. This study aims to look at the status of career education by the analysis of keywords for industrial security in the career experience network currently operated by the Ministry of Education and in-depth interview with career education teachers, students and parents, and industrial security experts. Based on such analysis, this study attempts to figure out a comprehensive understanding of the free semester system and to explore strategies for promoting industrial security education. The results of this study found that the activation plan for industrial security education requires the industry security education through career network, development of industrial security education program, training and placement of professional industrial security lecturer, and establishment of support systems for experience in industrial security.

The purpose of this study is making the career education program related to the subject, Manual Training and Home Economics, to present the effective guidance and to improve career maturity of students about the unit, "Making a choice of career and Job ethics" of middle school senior's course. In order to estimate this program, 60 students of 2 classes were chosen as research subjects among middle school seniors and each of classes was divided into two groups, an experimental group and a control group. After the experimental group was trained the career education program related to Manual Training and Home Economics for 15 sessions, the effect was verified by comparing tests before and after program execution. In order to prove effects of the program. Each grade of both the experimental group and the control group was taken analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Result of the program experiment is following. First, after executing the career education program related to Manual Training and Home Economics to the experimental group, participants showed that both attitude and ability for career maturity were improved in each sub-factor field of the career maturity as a result of tests before and after program execution. Second, in program satisfaction estimation, most of students had a positive attitude and in every time satisfaction, they made high estimation on the program, especially including the proper level of students and interesting activities. Finally, the final program was completed based on the result of effect analysis of the program.

The purpose of this study was to find out how much home economics(HE) textbook was focused on what kind of factors in career education, by analyzing the HE textbooks from the 7th grade(1st grade of the middle school) to the 10th grade(1st grade of high school), which were developed by applying the 7th educational process. 12 textbooks which were published by three publishers were randomly selected by grade. This study used the instrument developed by Korea Research Institute for Vacational Education & Training(2001) as an analysis frame, along with a content analysis system. The results of this study were as follows. The publishers of HE textbook stressed similar points in each section of career education, evenly reflecting the objectives and contents of career education. Three kinds of publishers also placed the same weight on the factors of career education in each unit, and suggested the contents related to career education in the whole units. HE textbook was designed to lead learners to understand self and have interest in varied occupations. Additionally, it provided the learners with a chance to consider their career and occupation by means of detailed job information, and its contents including learning of occupational ability for job selection were useful to plan and prepare for career. Accordingly, as HE textbook is most effective to promote connection between work and learning and contains proper factors of career guidance, it is one of the most appropriate textbooks to deal with career education.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of mathematics-centered STEAM program which was operated in free semester system classes on middle school students' interest in science, technology/engineering, and mathematics(STEM) career and integrated problem solving ability. The study was conducted with 40 first graders in a middle school for 12 weeks using mathematics-centered STEAM program developed for the use of free semester system classes by the support of the Ministry of Education/KOFAC in 2016. According to the results of STEM career interest survey, mathematics-centered STEAM program was effective for improving middle school students' interest in STEM career. And it was also effective in the development of students' integrated problem solving ability.
