This study aims to test the influence of employee competency and career management on career commitment in Indonesia. The study uses the cross-sectional data of regional government employees collected from February to April 2020. Regression and structural equation modeling are employed. The results base on the effect of employee competency and career management on career commitment in Indonesia are in line with the existing theory (i.e., Bandura's Career Theory). Employee competency has a significant positive influence on career management and career commitment, which shows that regional government employees with high competency generate effective career management, and in turn career commitment increased. Regional governments with their career management program should formulate human resources management practice policy (e.g., career support, training, career development program, and orientation programs) in order to increase their competency. The positive effect of employee competency on career management is because of the effective training and career development program. The positive influence of career management on career commitment is due to the regional government providing an attractive career program, thus, employees' career commitment improved. The positive influence of employee competency on career commitment via career management is implemented by regional government support to improve the career management program.
The purpose of this study is to identify the difference between the current retention level and the required level of engineering students' career competency that they think they need based on their perceptions. Ultimately, the results of this study are used as basic data when designing the major/general education program and the curricular/extra-curricular career program. The task of this study is to identify the difference between the current retention level and the required level of engineering students' career competency. And based on this, it is to confirm the educational needs of engineering students for the career competency. For this purpose, literature research on career competency education in universities was reviewed in the theoretical background. Next, previous studies on career competency and sub-competence derived from career competency-related studies and detailed questions were analyzed. Based on this, an initial evaluation tool for career competency of engineering students was developed. Finally, through expert review, a career competency evaluation tool with a total of 43 items in 10 competency groups was developed. A career competency evaluation questionnaire was conducted for 197 engineering students who participated in the 2022 Engineering Education Festa, and as a result of the IPA analysis, 'global competency' was found to be the competency with the largest difference between importance and execution. Next, 'major job competency' and 'career development competency' appeared in order. Reflecting the results of this study, it is expected that mutually organic design of competency-based liberal arts curriculum and major curriculum that can cultivate global competency, major job competency, and career development capability will be carried out through learning activities and field practice.

The purpose of this study is to design and develop competency based career development system for mid size IT company employees to support HRD(Human Resource Development) & HRM (Human Resource Menagement). Although many researches have been done in terms of employees career and competency development in corporate environment, there are not many cases to analyze mid size companies because small companies have limited number of employees and budget to develop career development system. This study analyzed 55 subjects to analyze their current competency level and job description in two mid size IT companies to design and develop competency based career development system. Three career paths such as R&D, management, and marketing, were common in IT companies and each suitable career development plan was recommended. The results of this study are able to provide self diagnostic competency based career development system for mid size company employees to improve their job performance and administration efficiency as a consequence.

The purpose of this study was to develop a competency model by career type by designing the specified career paths through the analysis of career experience of the athletes in the professional sports field. For this purpose, career types were identified as sports administrators, judges, leaders, sports information analysts, and global sports talents based on literature analysis, career development type and path guide design, experts interviews. Competency candidates were derived from interviews and workshops on experts. In order to finalize the competency model, it was confirmed by completing the feasibility test of experts. As a result, it is divided into common competency, professional competency, and global professional competency. There are 6 common competencies such as global competence, OA utilization, 29 special competencies by 5 career types, and 2 global competencies like sports foreign affairs, job preparation for international sports organization and the sports league federation. Also, other references inside and outside of the country that are related to the career key competencies and engineering basic competencies were investigated in this study. Especially, the career development competency in this study was approached with two points of views; the process of career development for students and the ability to maintain and develop the future career in an engineering field. The study aims to define the career competency of HRD practitioners based on an intelligent career framework. This intelligent career framework has been described as having been achieved by the accumulation of career capital through the three ways of knowing, including knowing why, knowing how, and knowing with whom. The data were collected from the interviews with 15 HRD practitioners. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data from the HRD practitioners. For the orientation about the interview, the researcher explained the importance of gathering data about the personal experiences of the respondents on their work and career. After that explanation, the researcher asked several questions based on the pre-structured interview guide. The data collected were qualitatively analyzed on the basis of the intelligent career framework. Based on the analysis of the interviews, the subcategories of each way of knowing competency were identified. For the knowing why, identity, credibility, and career clarity were identified. The subcategories of knowing how are remaining updates, hard skills, and soft skills, while the subcategories of knowing with whom are personal networking and professional networking. The interdependency among the three career competencies was found. The findings provide theoretical implications of applying an intelligent career framework.
