  • Six, one-year old dairy steers were randomly divided into two groups according to a Completely randomized design (CRD) to receive high-quality feed block (HQFB) without cassava hay and drenching (HQFB1+Ivomex) and HQFB with cassava hay (HQFB2) as block licks while grazing on Ruzi grass pasture. During the eight weeks, fecal parasitic egg counts dramatically declined for both treatment groups with 63.2 and 27.6% reduction from initial period for HQFB1+Ivomex and HQFB2, respectively. However, digestion of coefficients of nutrients particularly OM, were significantly higher in HQFB2 than, those in HQFB1+Ivomex, in addition, ADG of animals in HQFB2 tended to be higher than the group on HQFB1. It was, hence concluded that cassava hay could not only provide as a protein source but also serve as an anthelmintic in ruminants.

  • Sulfonation of polyetheretherketones (PEEK) was carried out in order to fabricate commercial perfluorosulfonic acid membrane alternatives, which were characterized in terms of their ion exchange capacity, ionic conductivity, water swelling, methanol crossover and electrochemical performance in their direct application as a methanol fuel cell. A high ion exchange capacity, 1.88, was achieved with a sulfonation reaction time of 8 h, with a significantly low methanol crossover low compared to that of Nafion. However, the morphological stability was found to deteriorate for membranes with sulfonation reaction times exceeding 8 h. Electrochemical cell tests suggested that the fabrication parameters of the membrane electrode assembly based on the sulfonated PEEK membranes should be optimized with respect to the physicochemical properties of the newly prepared membranes.

  • This paper presents a development of the ELB (Electronic Leakage Breaker) based on a reduction of standby power dissipation as with maintaining conventional performance. In order to minimize the standby power consumption of the conventional circuit, we analyze the cause of 0.3W dissipation of the circuit. By employing the TR-triggered circuit to secure the standby power of 0.10W after testing and evaluation while CRD inserted circuit showed the performance of 0.17W levels. Implementing SMPS IC and TNR device circuit was designed and showed of its power to less than 0.06W. Developed ELB is expected much standby power savings in large power distributor or heavy users.

  • The research reviews three experimental designs which include Split Plot Design (SPD), Crossover Design (CD) and Replicated Design (RD) by using Latin Square Design (LSD). SPD (CRD, LSD) and SPD (LSD, RCBD) that are derived from (S:A)${\times}B{\times}C{\times}D$ and $A{\times}B{\times}C{\times}D$. In addition, (S:A)${\times}B{\times}C$, (S:A)${\times}C{\times}D$ and (S:A)${\times}B{\times}C{\times}D$ can be used to generate various LSD and CD models. Finally, Replicated LSDs are considered to increase the power of detectability.

  • B-cell activating factor (BAFF) is a key regulator of B-lymphocyte development. Its biological role is mediated by the specific receptors BCMA, TACI, and BAFF-R. We have determined the crystal structure of BAFF-R extracellular domain bound to BAFF at a resolution of 3.3 ?. The cysteine-rich domain(CRD) of the BAFF-R extracellular domain adopts a b-hairpin structure and binds to the virus-like BAFF cage in a 1:1 molar ratio. The conserved DxL motif of BAFF-R is located on the tip of the b-turn, and plays an indispensable role in the binding of BAFF. The crystal structure shows that a unique dimeric contact occurs between the BAFF-R monomers in the virus-like cage complex. Both of the CRDs of TACI contain the DxL motifs and simultaneously interact with the BAFF dimer in the virus-like cage.

  • The mitigation or elimination of methanol crossover for perfluorosulfonic acid fuel cell membranes has been investigated extensively for direct methanol fuel cell applications with the aim of increasing the electrochemical performance and enhancing the utilization rate of methanol. Self-assembly modifications by applying an oppositely charged polyelectrolyte to Nafion membranes were attempted in order to block or reduce methanol crossover while maintaining the other advantageous properties of Nafion membranes. It was reported that anionic polyallylamine hydrochloride (PAH) was the most efficient polyelectrolyte in reducing methanol crossover, and considerable cell performance was obtained even at a methanol feed concentration of 10 M.

  • I. Objectives Endodontic disease is caused primarily by bacteria that interact with periradicular host from the root canal system. Chlorhexidine gluconate is known to effective to eliminate Enterococcus faecalis which resists to other intracanal medicaments. The aim of this in vitro study was to develop a slowly releasing root canal disinfectant using using chlorhexidine gluconate and chitoic acid. II. Materials and Methods Three different group were prepared with different drug release mechanism. In group A, paper points as used core material were loaded with 20% chlorhexidine gluconate.(omitted)

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of 2% chlorhexidine digluconate(CHX) and controlled release device(CRD) containing 20% CHX and chitosan coating, compared to calcium hydroxide as intracanal medicament against E. faecalis. II. Materials and Methods One hundred and twenty intact freshly extracted bovine incisors were used and were 0.5% NaOCl. Middle 1/3 portion of roots were sliced into 4mm thick section and cementum was removed using diamond burs and external diameter was approximally 6mm.(omitted)

  • The study uses the audited financial statements of 26 Vietnamese commercial banks listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) and Hanoi Stock Exchange (HOSE) during the 2008-2018 period to estimate the system GMM model, which provides empirical evidence on the effect of the variables of customer deposit to total assets (DEPO) ratio, loan to assets (LTA) ratio, liquidity of commercial banks (LIQ), credit development (CRD) ratio, external funding (EFD) ratio, and credit loss provision (LLP) ratio on liquidity risk. The study confirms that commercial banks' internal factors play the most important role, and there is no empirical evidence on macro variables that affect liquidity risk. Finally, in accordance with the theoretical framework, the study uses an estimation method with the R language and the bootstrap methodology to give empirical proof of the nonlinear correlation and U-shaped graph between commercial bank size and liquidity risk. The importance of commercial bank size in absorbing and moderating the effects of liquidity shocks is demonstrated, however, excessive growth in commercial bank size would increase liquidity risk in commercial bank operations.
