Knowing the dose distribution in a tissue is as important as being able to measure exposure or absorbed dose in radiotherapy. Since the Dry Imager spread, the wet type automatic processor is no longer used. Furthermore, the waste fluid after film development process brings about a serious problem for prevention of pollution. Therefore, we have developed a measurement method for the dose distribution (CR dosimetry) in the phantom based on the imaging plate (IP) of the computed radiography (CR). The IP was applied for the dose measurement as a dosimeter instead of the film used for film dosimetry. The data from the irradiated IP were processed by a personal computer with 10 bits and were depicted as absorbed dose distributions in the phantom. The image of the dose distribution was obtained from the CR system using the DICOM form. The CR dosimetry is an application of CR system currently employed in medical examinations to dosimetry in radiotherapy. A dose distribution can be easily shown by the Dose Distribution Depiction System we developed this time. Moreover, the measurement method is simpler and a result is obtained more quickly compared with film dosimetry.
In this study, LET (Linear Energy Transfer) calibration of CR-39 SSNTD (Solid State Nuclear Track Detector) was performed using 500 MeV/u Fe heavy ions in HIMAC (Heavy Ion Medical Accelerator) for high LET radiation dosimetry. The irradiated CR-39 SSNDT were etched according JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) etching conditions. And the etched SSNTD were analyzed by using Image J. Determined dose-mean lineal energy ($\overline{y_D}$) of 500 MeV/u Fe is about 283.3 keV/um by using the CR-39 SSNTD. This value is very similar result compare to the results calculated by GEANT4 Monte Carlo simulation and measured with TEPC active radiation detector. We confirmed that the CR-39 SSNTD was useful for high LET radiation dosimetry such as heavy iron ions.
One important issue in using radiopharmaceuticals as therapeutic and imaging agents is predicting different organ absorbed dose following their injection. The present study aims at extrapolating dosimetry estimates to a female phantom from the animal data of 89Zr radionuclide accumulation using the Sparks-Idogan relationship. The absorbed dose of 89Zr radionuclide in different organs of the human body was calculated based on its distribution data in mice using both MIRD method and the MCNP simulation code. In this study, breasts, liver, heart wall, stomach, kidneys, lungs and spleen were considered as source and target organs. The highest and the lowest absorbed doses were respectively delivered to the liver (4.00E-02 and 3.43E-02 mGy/MBq) and the stomach (1.83E-03 and 1.66E-03 mGy/MBq). Moreover, there was a good agreement between the results obtained from both MIRD and MCNP methods. Therefore, according to the dosimetry results, [89Zr] DFO-CR011-PET/CT seems to be a suitable for diagnostic imaging of the breast anomalies for CDX-011 targeting gpNMB in patients with TNBC in the future.
Effective dose equivalents resulting from inhalation of indoor radon-222 daughters at 12 residential areas in Korea were assessed by a simple mathematical lung dosimetry model based on the measurements of long-term averaged radon concentrations at 340 dwellings. The long-term averaged indoor radon-222 concentrations and corresponding eqilibrium equivalent radon $concentration(EEC_{Rn})$ measured by passive time-integrating CR-39 radon cups are in the range of $33.82{\sim}61.42Bq/m^3(median\;:\;48.90Bq/m^3)$ and of $13.53{\sim}24.57Bq/m^3(median\;:\;19.55Bq/m^3)$, respectively. The effective dose equvalent conversion factor for the exposure to unit $EEC_{Rn}$ derived in this study was estimated $1.07{\times}10^{-5}mSv/Bq\;h\;m^{-3}$ for a reference adult and agreed well with those recommended by the ICRP and UNSCEAR. The annual average dose equivalent to the lung $(H_{LUNG})$ from inhalation exposure to measured $EEC_{Rn}$ was estimated to be 20.90 mSv and resulting effective dose $equivalent(H_E)$ was to be 1.25 mSv, which is about 50% of the natural radiation exposure of 2.40 mSv/y to the public reported by the UNSCEAR.
The occurrence of saturation in the CR-39 detector reduces and limits its detection dynamic range; nevertheless, this range could be extended using spectroscopic techniques and by measuring the net bulk rate of the saturated CR-39 detector surface. CR-39 detectors were irradiated by 1.5 MeV high alpha-particle fluence varying from $0.06{\times}10^8$ to $7.36{\times}10^8\;alphas/cm^2$ from Am-241 source; thereafter, they were etched in a 6.25N NaOH solution at a temperature of $70^{\circ}C$ for different durations. Net bulk etch rate measurement of the 1.5 MeV alpha-irradiated CR-39 detector surface revealed that rate increases with increasing etching time and reaches its maximum value at the end of the alpha-particle range. It is also correlated with the alpha-particle fluence. The measurements of UV-Visible (UV-Vis) absorbance at 500 and 600 nm reveal that the absorbance is linearly correlated with the fluence of alpha particles at the etching times of 2 and 4 hour. For extended etching times of 6, 10, and 14.5 hour, the absorbance is saturated for fluence values of $4.05{\times}10^8$, $5.30{\times}10^8$, and $7.36{\times}10^8\;alphas/cm^2$. These new methods pave the way to extend the dynamic range of polymer-based solid state nuclear track detectors (SSNTDs) in measurement of high fluence of heavy ions as well as in radiation dosimetry.
The optimum etching condition of allyl diglycol carbonate (CR-39) for detecting the 60 MeV N-ions was determined as $70^{\circ}C$, 20% NaOH for 130min, by considering the variations of track density and diameter. Under these conditions, the maximum detectable track density was $1.7{\times}10^7tr/cm^2$. Track densities were linearly increased with increase of the total charge of the incident 60 MeV N-ions. By considering the scattring of N-ions as the Rutherford elastic scattering of point source, the measured relative probability was well consistent with the calculated value. The detection efficiency of CR-39 was in the range of 54-41% for 60 MeV N-ions of 12 nC-100 nC.

In this study, equivalent dose and LET (Linear Energy Transfer) calibration of CR-39 SSNTD (Solid State Nuclear Track Detector) were performed using 400 MeV/u C heavy ions in HIMAC (Heavy Ion Medical Accelerator in Chiba) for high LET radiation therapy. The irradiated CR-39 SSNDTs were etched according the etching condition of JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). And the etched SSNTDs were analyzed by using Image J. Determined frequency mean dose (${\bar{y_D}}$)and dose-mean lineal energy (${\bar{y_F}}$)of 400 MeV/u C are about 8.5keV/mm and 10.1 keV/mm, respectively by using the CR-39 SSNTD. This value is very similar to the results calculated by GEANT4 Monte Carlo simulation and measured with TEPC (Tissue Equivalent Proportional Counter) active radiation detector. We could determine the equivalent dose and LET calibration factors of CR-39. And we confirmed that the CR-39 SSNTD was useful for high LET radiation dosimetry in hadron radiotherapy.
Today each hospital is trend that change rapidly by up to date, digitization and introducing newest medical treatment equipment. So, we introduce new CR system and supplement film system's shortcoming and PACS, EMR, RTP system's network that is using in hospital harmoniously and accomplish quality improvement of medical treatment and service elevation about business efficiency enlargement and patient Accordingly, we wish to introduce our case that integrate reflex that happen with radiation oncology here upon to PACS using CR system and estimate the availability. We measured that is Gantry, Collimator Star Shot, Light vs. Radiation, HDR QA(Dwell position accuracy) with Medical LINAC(MEVATRON-MX) Then, PACS was implemented on the digital images on the monitor that can be confirmed through the QA. Also, for cooperation with OCS system that is using from present source and impose code that need in treatment in each treatment, did so that Order that connect to network, input to CR may appear, did so that can solve support data mistake (active Pinacle's case supports DICOM3 file from present source but PACS does not support DICOM3 files.) of Pinacle and PACS that is Planning System and look at Planning premier in PACS. All image and data constructed integration to PACS as can refer and conduct premier in Hospital anywhere using CR system. Use Dosimetry IP in Filmless environment and QA's trial such as Light/Radition field size correspondence, gantry rotation axis' accuracy, collimator rotation axis' accuracy, brachy therapy's Dwell position check is available. Business efficiency by decrease and so on of unnecessary human strength consumption was augmented accordingly with session shortening as that integrate premier that is neted with radiation oncology using CR system to PACS. and for the future patient information security is essential.
A study for the assessment of dose given by outdoor radon to respiratory system has been carried out by making use of radon-cups containing CR-39 plastic track detectors. Detection efficiencies were determined by irradiation of the radon-cups in a standard radon chamber of known concentration. Thus determined detection factors of CR-39 plastic track detector in bare, open cup and filtered cup geometry are found to be 0.273, 0.0813 and 0.0371 $trmm^{-2}$/(37$Bqm^{-3}{\cdot}d$), respectively, which are chemically etched in 30% NaOH solution of $70^{\circ}C$ for 220 minutes. The outdoor radon concentrations measured at Taejeon(Chungnam National University) from May 1988 to March 1989 are in the range of 27.4 - 135.8 Bq/$m^3$(0.74 - 3.67pCi/l)by open cup and 16.7 - 143.9 Bq/$m^3$(0.45 - 3.89 pCi/l) by filtered cup, which yield overall annual average value of outdoor radon concentration of $70.8Bq/m^3$(1.91 pCi/l). Corresponding effective dose equivalent rate to respiratory system of ICRP standard man is assessed to be 520 nSv /h.
Three-dimensional thermoluminescence (TL) spectra from $MgAl_2O_4$ irradiated with UV light were measured over 300${\~}$600 K and 300${\~}$800 nm. The peak positions of TL glow curves were shifted to lower temperature with increasing the exposure time of UV light. The 476 K TL glow curve is due to the second kinetics and its activation energy and escape frequency factor are calculated to be 0.85 eV and $1.92{\times}10^6 sec^{-1}$, respectively The TL spectra were split into 530 nm and 700 nm emission bands which were associated with $V^{2+}$ and $Cr^{2+}$, respectively. The linearity range of 700 nm omission band is smaller than that of 530 nm emission band, but the saturation time of 700 nm emission band is longer than that of 530 nm omission band.
