Aluminum anodizing is a technique that can be formed pores well aligned various diameters. We were prepared CNFs using the polymer as carbon source using the AAO as a template. CNFs can be heat treated at $1400^{\circ}C$ and became soft carbon. It showed electrochemical behavior by Crystallization. In this experiment, I was observing the behavior as a anode material for LIC of CNFs having different diameters.
A new synthesis method for the preparation of Pt electrocatalysts on carbon nanofibers (CNFs) is reported. In this method, Pt electrocatalysts are loaded onto 2-naphthalenethiol (NT) functionalized CNFs. The noncovalent functionalization of CNFs by NT is the effective way for better distribution of Pt particles and higher electrocatalytic activity in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells. It was found that the presence of NT acts as a poison to catalysts. Therefore, it is necessary to remove NT through the heat treatment at $400^{\circ}C$.

Molybdenum disulfide ($MoS_2$) based electrocatalysts have been proposed as substitutes for platinum group metal (PGM) based electrocatalyst to hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in water electrolysis. Here, we studied $MoS_2/CNFs$ hybrid catalyst prepared by electrospinning method with heat treatment for polymer electrolyte membrane(PEM) water electrolysis to improve the HER activity. The physicochemical and electrochemical properties such as average diameter, crystalline properties, electrocatalitic activity for HER of synthesized $MoS_2/CNFs$ were investigated by the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Raman Spectroscopy (Raman) and Linear Sweep Voltammetry (LSV). The as spun ATTM/PVP nanofibers were prepared by sol-gel and electrospinning method. Subsequently, the $MoS_2/CNFs$ was dereived from reduction heat treatment of ATTM at the ATTM/PVP nanofibers and carbonization heat treatment. Synthesized $MoS_2/CNFs$ electrocatalyst had an average diameter of $179{\pm}30nm$. We confirmed that the $MoS_2$ layers in $MoS_2/CNF$ electrocatalyst consist of 3~4 layers from the Raman results. In addition, We confirmed that the $MoS_2$ layers in $MoS_2/CNF$ catalyst consist of 7.47% octahedral 1T phase $MoS_2$, 63.77% trigonal prismatic 2H phase $MoS_2$ with 28.75% $MoO_3$ through the XRD, Raman and XPS results. It was shown that $MoS_2/CNFs$ had the overpotential of 0.278 V at $10mA/cm^2$ and tafel slope of 74.8 mV/dec in 0.5 M sulfuric acid ($H_2SO_4$) electrolyte.

Wet-spun silk fibers have attracted the attention of many researchers because of 1) the unique properties of silk as a biomaterial, including good biocompatibility and cyto-compatability and 2) the various methods available to control the structure and properties of the fiber. Cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) have typically been used as a reinforcing material for natural and synthetic polymers. In this study, CNF-embedded silk fibroin (SF) nanocomposite fibers were prepared for the first time. The effects of CNF content on the rheology of the dope solution and the characteristics of wet-spun CNF/SF composite fibers were also examined. A 5% SF formic acid solution that contained no CNFs showed nearly Newtonian fluid behavior, with slight shear thinning. However, after the addition of 1% CNFs, the viscosity of the dope solution increased significantly, and apparent shear thinning was observed. The maximum draw ratio of the CNF/SF composite fibers decreased as the CNF content increased. Interestingly, the crystallinity index for the silk in the CNF/SF fibers was sequentially reduced as the CNF content was increased. This phenomenon may be due to the fact that the CNFs prevent ${\beta}$-sheet crystallization of the SF by elimination of formic acid from the dope solution during the coagulation process. The CNF/SF composite fibers displayed a relatively smooth surface with stripes, at low magnification (${\times}500$). However, a rugged nanoscale surface was observed at high magnification (${\times}10,000$), and the surface roughness increased with the CNF content.
To control the diameter size of the carbon nanofilaments (CNFs), SF6 was incorporated in the source gases ($C_2H_2/H_2$) during the initial deposition stage. The source gases and $SF_6$ were manipulated as the cyclic on/off modulation of $C_2H_2/H_2/SF_6$ flow in a thermal chemical vapor deposition system. The characteristics of the CNFs formation on the substrate were investigated according to the different cyclic modulation processes and the substrate temperatures. By $SF_6\;+\;H_2$ flow injection during the cycling etching interval time, the diameter size of CNFs was extremely decreased. The cause for the decrease in the diameter size of the individual CNFs by the cyclic on/off modulation process of $C_2H_2/H_2/SF_6$ flow was discussed in association with the slightly enhanced etching ability by the incorporation of $SF_6$.
Energy storage systems should address issues such as power fluctuations and rapid charge-discharge; to meet this requirement, CoFe2O4 (CFO) spinel nanoparticles with a suitable electrical conductivity and various redox states are synthesized and used as electrode materials for supercapacitors. In particular, CFO electrodes combined with carbon nanofibers (CNFs) can provide long-term cycling stability by fabricating binder-free three-dimensional electrodes. In this study, CFO-decorated CNFs are prepared by electrospinning and a low-cost hydrothermal method. The effects of heat treatment, such as the activation of CNFs (ACNFs) and calcination of CFO-decorated CNFs (C-CFO/ACNFs), are investigated. The C-CFO/ACNF electrode exhibits a high specific capacitance of 142.9 F/g at a scan rate of 5 mV/s and superior rate capability of 77.6% capacitance retention at a high scan rate of 500 mV/s. This electrode also achieves the lowest charge transfer resistance of 0.0063 Ω and excellent cycling stability (93.5% retention after 5,000 cycles) because of the improved ion conductivity by pathway formation and structural stability. The results of our work are expected to open a new route for manufacturing hybrid capacitor electrodes containing the C-CFO/ACNF electrode that can be easily prepared with a low-cost and simple process with enhanced electrochemical performance.
This study was carried out to investigate the changes in micro- and nanoscopic morphology of cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) from various bioresources by investigating various mechanical milling systems. Mechanical milling in herbaceous bioresources was more effective than in woody bioresources, demonstrating lower energy consumption and finer morphology. The milling time to reach nanoscopic size was longer in woody bioresources than in herbaceous bioresources. Furthermore, at the same level of wet disk milling time, CNFs from herbaceous bioresources showed more slender morphology than those from woody bioresources. Tensile properties of nanopaper prepared from CNFs of herbaceous bioresources were higher than those of woody bioresources. The highest tensile strength was found to be 77.4 MPa in the nanopaper from Evening prim rose.

Nanostructured carbon (nm-C), including carbon nanotubes and nanofibers (CNTs/CNFs) is promising for low-cost field emission display (FED) application. By modification of CNTs/CNFs, uniform CNTs/CNFs can be obtained and used for field emission cathode (FEC) on glass substrate. By screen-printing (SP) and electrophoretic deposition (EPD) process, large area FEC can be obtained. The FED properties are studied and compared. Both SP and EPD FEC show excellent field emission properties, such as low emission field and uniform emission, after optimization the fabrication process. While EPD FEC exhibits better luminescence image. By vacuum sealing, the low cost nm-C-FED prototypes based on EPD cathode have been demonstrated.

CNFs had been well addressed due to numerous promising applications in science and technology. Besides the same physicochemical properties of ordinary carbon materials such as active carbons and carbon black, they exhibit specific, e.g., tubular or fibrous structures, a large surface area, high electrical conductivity stability, as well as extremely high mechanical strengh and modulus, which make them a superior material for electrochemical capacitors. In this study, CNFs were pretreated by mechanical milling with different time in mortar and pestle. The milled CNFs were used as active material of electrode whose electrochemical property was tested to find physicochemical characterization variation. CNF electrode milled for 5 min has the highest electric capacitance. XPS spectrum were employed to explore changes in functional group induced from mechanical milling. Crystal size was calculated to analyze change of peak from different milling time by XRD. The CNF milled for 5 min has the largest crystal size and the highest electric capacitance.
