The base station transceiver subsystem (BTS) of the CDMA Mobile System is interfaced to mobile stations over the air and to the wired network through a packet switched interconnection network. The potential benefits of CDMA technology are achieved when the transmitter and the receiver are properly designed and implemented. The physical layer of the interface at the base station is implemented with the CDMA ASICs and control circuits in channel card of the BTS. We present the design perspectives and structural illustration of the BTS. Base station modem ASICs and their control to implement the CDMA receiver, Baseband and RF signal processing blocks, and BTS controller are described. Elaborate power control is essential to ensure the high capacity which is one of advantages of the CDMA technology. The closed loop reverse link power control and the forward link power control operated in the BTS are described.
셋째, traffic channel elements (TCEs), BTS interconnection network (BIN)-CDMA interconnection network (CIN)트렁크, 트랜스 코딩 채널(transcoding channel) 및 CIN 패킷 라우터 (packet router) 에 대한 호 손을(call blocking probability), 가용도(utilization ratio)및 지연 시간(delay time)등의 주요 요소들을 구하여 시뮬레이션 결과를 평가한다.
In this paper, a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) field engineering system is designed and implemented for managing cellular telecommunication base stations. For high quality of CDMA service, optimized cell planning is crucial. For such cell planning, base stations must be managed based on analysis of CDMA field dta. The proposed system consists of two modules: a measurement module and au analysis of CDMA field dta. eh proposed system consists of tow modules; a measurement module and an analysis module. The measurement module collects various CDMA field dta and displays them on a vector map in a real-time manner. The analysis module associates measured data with various related information, e.g. base station information, and process them statistically. The proposed system can drastically reduce base station management cost.
In cellular communication, subscriber authentication is an essential technique. The mobile station should operate in conjunction with the base station to authenticate the identity. In CDMA system, authentication is the process by which information is exchanged between a mobile station and base station for the purpose of confirming the mobile station. A successful authentication process means that the mobile station and base station process identical sets of shared secret data(SSD). SSD can be generated by authentication algorithms. The cryptographic hash function is a practical way of authentication algorithms. In this paper, we propose and implement MD5 and SHA-1 with modified structure.

CDMA(code division multiple access) has very large peak to average power ratio(PAR) and behave as noise-like wide band digital signals with 1.2288 Mbps transmission rate. For signals with high PAR like CDMA, it is reasonable to prescribe occupied bandwidth(OBW) as average occupied bandwidth. Bandwidth measurements of CDMA signals at remote site are affected by co-channel and adjacent channel interference from adjacent CDMA base station, distortion of signal by fading effect, spurious emission and environment noises. In this study, we have compared OBW measurements in an on-air environment with those measured in a base station using adjacent channel leakage ratio(ACLR) as a reference measurement factor. As results of analysis, the OBW at ACLR$\geq$35 ㏈ shows nearly same statistical characteristics regardless of the measurement locations and environments.

In this paper, a CSSMA/AI MAC protocol in packet CDMA network is presented. The main features of this protocol are the code status sensing and reservation for reducing the packet collision. The base station broadcasts the code status on a frame-by-frame basis just before the beginning of each preamble transmission, and the mobile station transmits a preamble for reserving a code based on the received code status. After having transmitted the preamble, the mobile station listens to the downlink of the selected code and waits the base station reply. If this reply indicates that the code has been correctly acquired, it continues the packet transmission for the rest of the frame. If there are other packets waiting for transmission, the base station broadcasts the status of the code as reserved, and the mobile station transmits a packet on a reserved code for the successive frames.
