The mount of network traffic from the Internet is increasing because of the use of Broadband Convergence Networks(BcN). Network traffic is also increasing because of the development of application, especially multimedia traffic from IPTV, VOD, and online games. This multimedia traffic not only has a huge payload but also should be considered a threat in real time. For this reason, this study examines the ways that routers distribute the bandwidth in accordance to traffic properties. To classify the property of the traffic, it is essential to analyze the application layer. However, the general network processor architecture serially processes the L2-4 and L7 layer. We propose a novel parallel network processor architecture with a global cache that processes L2-4 and L7 in parallel. To verify the proposed architecture, we simulated both of the architecture with SystemC. EEMBC and SNORT was used to measure L2-4 and L7 processing time. When multimedia traffic was entered into the network processor in the same flow, the proposed architecture showed about 85% higher performance than general architecture.

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the influence of landscaping pavements on WBGT(Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature) of outdoor spaces that lack ventilation and shade at summer midday. The relative humidity(RH), dry-bulb temperature(DT) and globe temperature(GT) were recorded every minute from June to October 2009 at a height of 1.2m above ten experimental beds with different pavements, by a measuring system consisting of an electric humidity sensor(GHM-15), resistance temperature detector(RTD, Pt-100), standard black globe(${\phi} 150mm$) and data acquisition systems(National Instrument's Labview and Compact FieldPoint). Additionally, the surface dry-bulb temperatures also were recorded and compared. The area of each experimental bed was 1.5m(W)${\times}$2.0m(L) and ten different kinds of pavement were used including grass, grass+cubic stone, grass+porous brick, brick, stone panels, cubic stone, interlocking blocks, clay brick, naked soil, gravel and concrete. To prevent interference from ventilation, a 1.5m height cubic steel frame was established around each bed and each vertical side of the frame was covered with transparent polyethylene film. Based on the records of the hottest period from noon to 3 PM on 26 days with a peak dry-bulb temperature over $30^{\circ}C$ at natural condition, the wet-bulb temperature(WT) and WBGT were calculated and compared. The major findings were as follows: 1. The average surface DT was $40.1^{\circ}C$, which is $9^{\circ}C$ higher than that of the natural condition. The surface DT of the pavements with grass were higher than those of concrete and interlocking block. The peak DT of the surface almost every pavement rose to above $50^{\circ}C$ during the hottest time. 2. The averages of DT, WT and GT were $40.1^{\circ}C$, $27.5^{\circ}C$ and $49.1^{\circ}C$, and the peak values rose to $48.1^{\circ}C$, $45.8^{\circ}C$ and $59.5^{\circ}C$, respectively. In spite of slight differences that resulted according to pavements, no coherent differentiating factor could be found. 3. The average WBGT of grass was the highest at $34.3^{\circ}C$ while the others were similar in the range of around $33{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. Meanwhile, the peak WBGT was highest with stone panel at $47.9^{\circ}C$. Though there were some differences according to pavements, and while grass seemed to be worst in terms of WBGT, it seems difficult to say ablolutely that grass was the worst because the measurement was conducted without ventilation and shade during summer daytime hours only, which had temperatures that rose to a dangerous degree(above $45^{\circ}C$ WBGT), withering the grass during the hottest period. The average WBGT resulted also showed that the thermal environment of the pavement without ventilation and shade were at an intolerable level for humans regardless of the pavement type. In summary, the results of this study show that ventilation and shade are more important factor than pavement type in terms of outdoor thermal comfort in summer daylight hours.

The purpose of this study was to compare the Solar Radiation(SR) and the Mean Radiant Temperature(MRT) under the shades of the three landscaping trees in clear summer daytimes. The trees were Lagerstroemia indica, Quercus palustris and Ulmus parvifolia. The solar radiation, the globe temperature and the air temperature were recorded every minute from the $1^{st}$ of April to the $30^{th}$ of September 2013 at a height of 1.1m above on the four monitoring stations, with four same measuring system consisting of a solar radiation sensor, two resistance temperature detectors(Pt-100), a black brass globe (${\phi}50mm$) and data acquisition systems. At the same time, the sky view photos were taken automatically hourly by three scouting cameras(lens angle: $60^{\circ}$) fixed at each monitoring station. Based on the 258 daily sky view photos and 6,640 records of middays(10 A.M.~2 P.M.) from the $1^{st}$ of June to the $30^{th}$ of August, the time serial differences of SR and MRT under the trees were analysed and compared with those of open sky, The major findings were as follows; 1. The average ratio of sky views screened by the canopies of Quercus palustris, Lagerstroemia indica and Ulmus parvifolia were 99%, 98% and 97%, and the SR were $106W/m^2$, $163W/m^2$ and $202W/m^2$ respectively, while the SR of open sky was $823W/m^2$. Which shows the canopies blocked at least 70% of natural SR. 2. The average MRT under the canopies of Quercus palustris, Lagerstroemia indica and Ulmus parvifolia were $30.34^{\circ}C$, $33.34^{\circ}C$ and $34.77^{\circ}C$ respectively, while that of open sky was $46.0^{\circ}C$. Therefore, it can be said that the tree canopies can reduce the MRT around $10{\sim}16^{\circ}C$. 3. The regression test showed significant linear relationship between the SR and MRT. In summary, the performances of the landscaping shade trees were very good at screening the SR and reducing the MRT at the outdoor of summer middays. Therefore, it can be apparently said that the more shade trees or forest at the outdoor, the more effective in conditioning the outdoor space reducing the MRT and the useless SR for human activities in summertime.

Each country in the world currently concentrates on shifting into clean energy, which can be alternative energy, for global environment protection and solution to the problem of fossil fuel depletion. The Korean government is predicted to develop renewable energy, such as solar power, ground power, and offshore wind power, and to increase their supply ratios by ending the use of coals and nuclear power plants. This study conducted experiments on thermal storage performance of Trombe wall thermal storage materials using solar power and simulations in order to offer baseline data for the development of a hybrid air circulation system for heating that can maximize efficiency by simultaneously using solar and geothermal power. The study results are as follows: (1) In all the specimens with 3m, 5m, and 7m in the length of thermal storage pipe, $5.7^{\circ}C$, $7.8^{\circ}C$, and $10.5^{\circ}C$ rose, respectively, as the thermal storage effect of the specimens attaching insulation film and black tape to the general funnel. They were most excellent in terms of thermal storage effect. (2) As a result of thermal performance evaluation on the II type specimens, II-3 ($7.8^{\circ}C$ rise) > II-4 ($5.3^{\circ}C$ rise) > II-1 ($3.9^{\circ}C$ rise) > II-2 ($2.3^{\circ}C$ rise) was revealed, and thus II-3 (insulation film + black tape) was most effective as shown in the I type. (3) This study analyzed air current and temperature distribution inside of the greenhouse by linking actually measured values and simulation interpretation results through the interpretation of CFD (computational fluid dynamics). As a result, the parts absorbing heat and discharging heat around the thermal storage pipe could be visibly classified, and temperature distribution inside of the greenhouse around the thermal storage pipe could be figured out.
This study analysed data on the weather of Seoul, Gwangju and Mokpo to examine the degree of temperature increase in those Korean cities. 1) When the results of the analysis were compared with those of previously analysed temperature increase in 1990s and 1940s, there was an increase in temperature of $1.7^{\circ}C$ in Seoul, $1.5^{\circ}C$ in Gwangju and $0.7^{\circ}C$ in Mokpo. 2) According to the seasonal analysis, $1.7^{\circ}C$ in Seoul, $1.5^{\circ}C$ in Gwangju and $0.7^{\circ}C$ in Mokpo increased in Spring. On a monthly basis in Spring increase in April was highest($2.3^{\circ}C$ and $1.0^{\circ}C$ in Gwangju and Mokpo, respectively). As for Seoul, $2.4^{\circ}C$ increased in March, highest. In July and August of Summer, no significant change occurred in the three cities, but in Autumn, $1.0^{\circ}C,\;1.5^{\circ}C$, and $0.3^{\circ}C$ in Seoul, Gwangju and Mokpo increased, respectively. In Winter, $2.9^{\circ}C$ in Seoul, $1.9^{\circ}C$ in Gwangju, and $2.3^{\circ}C$ in Mokpo increased, respectively.

The current paper is to review the need to considering cultural and educational aspects rather than technical approaches for the maritime safety. General and rather simple views on culture and education are provided as well as the state-of-the-art of the methodologies on ship safety assessment. Conclusions such as the national role and contributions to the international bodies and the third worlds are drawn in addition to the importance of cultural and educational factors to enhance the safety of ships.

Roadside pollution has been identified as the main cause of PM2.5 in urban areas. Green infrastructure has been understood to mitigate air pollution from roadside traffic effectively, but complication depend on environmental variables. This study aimed to investigate the characteristic of PM2.5 by the type of space in an urban park located in Songsanghyeon Plaza, surrounded by a 12-lane road on all sides. Type of space was typically classified as roadside square (A), sunken square (B), a mix of trees and hedges/shrubs (C), trees only (D), and grass square (E) according to the land-use type and layers of trees. PM2.5 was measured for nine days, three days for three different Air Quality Forecasts-Good level (0~15㎍/m3), Moderate level (16~35㎍/m3), and Unhealthy level (36~75㎍/m3). The analysis result was as follows. At good levels, there was statistical significance in the order of D, E < B, C < A. In the case of moderate levels and unhealthy levels, D and E were statistically lower than other land-use types. The characteristic of PM2.5 in the urban park by type of space was affected by atmospheric flow into the road. The relatively high concentration of A and C was located near the roads. Although B was far away from the road, the reason for the high concentration of PM2.5 was that no structures blocked the air pollution. Thanks to the type of space C, filtering the air pollution from the roads, the concentration of PM2.5 in D and E was relatively low.

In this paper, we proposed high speed LDPC encoder architecture for DVB-S2 standard. In conventional algorithm, the processes of parity calculations are serial fashion. Therefore conventional algorithm need clocks of number of parity. The proposed LDPC encoding architecture is based on a parallel 360 bits-wise operations. The key issues for realizing high speed are using the two kinds of index addresses and make use of memories efficiently. We implemented a half rate LDPC encoder on an FPGA, and confirmed its maximum throughput is up to 10 Gbps on 100MHz clock.

SoC(System on a Chip) has several masters, slaves, arbiter and decoder in bus architecture. Master initiates the data transactions like CPU, DMA and DSP and slave responses the data transactions like SRAM SDRAM and register. Furthermore, as multiple masters can't use a bus concurrently, arbiter plays an role in bus arbitration. In compliance with the selection of arbitration method, SoC performance can be changed definitely. Fixed priority, round-robin, TDM arbitration are used in general arbitration method, In this study, we compose TLM algorithm and analyze general arbitration methods through TLM simulation. Consequently, we propose the hybrid bus arbitration policy and verify the performance, compared with the other arbitration methods.
