  • 다중 전송율(16, 24, 32, 40kbps)을 제공하는 G.726 부호화기는 ADPCM (Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation) 부호화법을 사용한다. 본논문에서는 G.726 ADPCM 알고리즘을 C&S Technology에서 개발한 음성 신호 처리를 위한 범용 DSP인 CSD17C00A 칩을 이용하여 실시간 응용이 가능하도록 구현하였다. G.726에 대한 양방향 평가는 Codec Loopback test을 통해 수행되었으며, W-T에서 제공한 테스트 절차에 따라 평가되었다. 본 논문에서 구현된 G.726 부호화기는 평균 11 MIPS의 계산 속도를 갖고, 프로그램 메모리 크기는 2.8K Words이고, 데이터 메모리 크기는 550 Words 를 필요로 하였다.

Higher Order Structure of 5S rRNA from Xanthomonas palargonii (Xanthomonas palargonii 5S rRNA의 고차원 구조)

  • The primary and secondary structures of Xanthomonas palargonii 5S rRNA were determined. The higher order structure of the 5S rRNA was also analysed using several ribonucleases and chemical probes, such as ethylnitrourea, Pb2+, dimethylsulfate and diethyl pyrocarbonate. Ethylnitrourea was used for probing the phosphate groups involved in the tertiary interactions in the 5S rRNA. Nucleotides G72, A73, G75, A78, G98, G100 and A101 in unstable helical region d, nucleotides C36, C37, A39, and C41 in loop c, nucleotides A29 and G33 in stem C became resistant to ethylnitrourea modification in the presence of Mg2+. On the basis of findings from chemical and enzymatic studies, and also Pb2+-induced cleavages, it was concluded that region b-C and unstable helical region d may act as hinges in the folding of 5S rRNA.

Effect of Ratios Carbon Source to Nitrogen Source on the Yields of PHB Fermentation Variables (탄소원과 질소원의 비가 PHB 발효특성치 수율에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of ratios of initial concentration of carbon source to the initial concentration of nitrogen source in the fermentation media on both the yields of PHB fermentation variables and the accumulation of poly-${\beta}$-hydroxybutyric acid(PHB) were investigated. The fermentation media were composed of the combination of varing glucose concentrations, 10, 20, 25, 30, 40, $50g/\ell$ and the NH4Cl concentrations 0.33, 0.4, 0.5, 1.5, 3, $5g/\ell$. The yield of biomass on glucos, Yx/s, decreased very slowly according to the increase of the ratio of C to N. And the yield became constant at 0.35(g biomass/g glucose) with the ratio higher than 70. The yield of residual biomass, Yx/s, also decreased with the ratio of C to N and finally showed a constant value of 0.065(g residual biomass/g glucose) when the ratio was higher than 65. In accordance with the augmentation of the ratio, the yield of PHB, YPHB/S, however, increased and showed the maximum value of 0.35 (g PHB/g glucose) between 40 and 60 of the ratio. The maximum yield of PHB to the change of biomass, YPHB/S, was 0.87(g PHB/g biomass), and the yie1d YPHB/RX, was 4.2(g PHB/g residual biomass). The maximum accumulation percent of PHB to the final biomass was 81% when the ratio was higher than 67.

  • 이중 전송율(5.3 과 6.3kbit/s)을 제공하는 G.723.1 음성 코더는 공중망을 통한 H.324 POTS 영상 회의 규격의 음성 코더로 채택된 것으로, MPMLQ, ACELP 알고리즘에 근거한다. 본 논문에서는 Annex A를 포함한 G.723.1 음성 코더 알고리즘을 C&S Technology에서 개발한 음성 신호 처리를 위한 범용 DSP인 CSD17C00 칩을 이용하여 실시간 응용이 가능하도록 구현하였다. G.723.1 에 대한 양방향 평가가 Codec loopback을 통해 수행되었으며, ITU에서 제공한 테스트 절차에 따라 평가되었다. 또한, 본 논문에서 구현된 G.723.1 음성 코더는 27MIPS의 계산 속도를 갖으며, 프로그램 ROM의 크기는 8.85K Words이고, 10K 데이터 ROM과 4K 데이터 RAM을 필요로 하고 있다. 경쟁 제품과의 MOS 측정 음질 평가를 실시한 결과, CSD17C00에서의 음질 성능이 더 우수함을 입증 함으로써, 본 논문에서 보여준 CSD17C00을 기반으로 구현된 G.723.1 알고리즘의 실시간 구현기술의 타당성을 검증하게 되었다.

Isolation and Characterization of Exopolysaccharide Producing Lactic Acid Bacteria from Kimchi (김치로부터 Exopolysaccharide 생성 유산균의 분리 및 특성 규명)

  • Three slime-forming lactic acid bacteria were isolated from Kimchi and shown to produce viscous exopolysaccharides (EPS) in sucrose media. The isolated strains, GJ2, C3 and C11, were identified as Leuconostoc kimchii, Leuconostoc citreum and Leuconostoc mesenteroides, respectively, by examining their metabolic characteristics and determining their 16S rDNA sequences. Leu. kimchii GJ2, Leu. citreum C3 and Leu. mesenteroides C11 exhibited high viability (maintained initial viable cell count of $10^8$ CFU/ml) in 0.05 M sodium phosphate buffer (pH 3.0) for 2 h, in artificial gastric juice for 2 h and in 0.3% oxgall for 24 h. When tested, Leu. kimchii GJ2, in particular, displayed antimicrobial activity against pathogenic microorganisms. Leu. kimchii GJ2, Leu. citreum C3 and Leu. mesenteroides C11 produced 21.49 g/l, 16.46 g/l and 22.98 g/l EPS, respectively, in sucrose (5%) medium. The amount of purified EPS extracted from Leu. kimchii GJ2, Leu. citreum C3 and Leu. mesenteroides C11 was 14.61 g/l, 7.73 g/l and 4.77 g/l, respectively. Although the EPS produced by Leu. kimchii GJ2, Leu. citreum C3 and Leu. mesenteroides C11 differed in viscosity, TLC and HPLC analysis revealed that each contained only one type of monosaccharide, glucose. The average molecular mass of EPS produced by Leu. kimchii GJ2 was 306,606 Da.

  • Pseudomonas sp. S-47 is capable of degrading 4-chlorobenzoate to produce 5-chloro-2-hydroxymuconic semialdehyde (5C-2HMS) by the enzymes encoding by xylXYZLTE cluster. In this study, the resulting 5C-2HMS was confirmed to be transformed to 5-chloro-2-hydroxymuconic acid (5C-2HMA) by 5C-2HMS dehydrogenase. The xylG gene encoding 5C-2HMS dehydrogenase was cloned from the chromosomal DNA of strain S-47. The nucleotide sequence of xylG showed to be composed of 1,600 base pairs with ATG initiation and TGA termination codons. A deduced amino acid sequence of the 5C-2HMS dehydrogenase (XylG) exhibited 98%, 93%, and 89% identity with those of the dehydrogenases from P. putida mt-2, P. putida G7, and Pseudomonas sp. CF600, respectively.

  • Let S and R be rings and SCR a semidualizing bimodule. We introduce the notion of GC-FPn-injective modules, which generalizes GC-FP-injective modules and GC-weak injective modules. The homological properties and the stability of GC-FPn-injective modules are investigated. When S is a left n-coherent ring, several nice properties and new Foxby equivalences relative to GC-FPn-injective modules are given.

A Study on the Silk Dyeing With Natural indigo Extracted from Polygoum tinctorium -On the fermentation dyeing- (쪽 色素에 의한 絹纖維 染色에 관한 硏究 -발효 염색에 대하여-)

  • Colorants were prepared by extraction of natural indigo which was harvested just in the blooming season(in the late of July). 100 g of fresh leaves soaking in 1 ιwater was kept at 3$0^{\circ}C$, 30 hours. A solution of 3g/l calcium hydroxide was added into it to precipitate dye substance and it was freezing-dried into powder form. The fermentation and dyeing conditions were investigated. The results obtained are summarized as follows; K/S value of dyed silk fabrics of fermentation conditions was higher at 95$^{\circ}C$ for 20 min. than at 4$0^{\circ}C$ for 20 hours. Furthermore, K/S value of dyed silk fabric was raised by the addition of 5g/l of glucose and 5g/l of NaOH. K/S value of dyed silk fabric was raised by the addition of 5g/l of glucose and 5g/l of NaOH. K/S value increased as extending of dyeing time when dyed till 2 hours at 3$0^{\circ}C$. K/S value decreased in order of 3$0^{\circ}C$, 4$0^{\circ}C$ and 5$0^{\circ}C$, at the various dyeing temperatures and dyeing concentrations, and colour fastness ranged from 4 to 5 grade in terms of washing, perspiration and light fastness.

  • Cemented Sand and Gravel (C.S.G) method has become increasingly popular in Japan and throughout the world as a construction method and material. This method is favorably used for cofferdam and large dam because a quarry and aggregate plant facility can be diminished. Also, this method can reduce construction cost, work duration and destruction of environment. In this paper, a methodology for C.S.G mix design based on so-called soil mechanics approach is proposed for trapezoid-shaped dam. The methodology consists of selection of a suitable aggregate, introduction of compaction method, processing to prepare standard specimens, and determination of mix portions. Also, unconfined compressive strength tests and large triaxial compression tests are performed. From the results of the test, correlation equation among strength, elastic modulus and unit cement is proposed.

Expression of Pseudorabies Virus Glycoproteins gB, gC and gD using Insect Expression System

  • Porcine pseudorabies virus (PRV) causes the Aujeszky's disease (AD) which is economically important disease in the swine industry worldwide. Killed or live vaccines have been used to control this disease, but their efficacy and side effects remain problems to be solved. To solve these problems, in this study, production of recombinant PRV glycoprotein gB, gC and gD was investigated in insect expression system. Glycoprotein gB, gC and gD are regarded as the major immunogenic antigens in PRV. Abundant production and immunogenicity of glycoprotein gB, gC and gD were confirmed by SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis, respectively. Optimal infection dose and time were also determined for the production of each recombinant PRV glycoprotein. Confirmation of glycosylation of recombinant gB, gC and gD suggested their usefulness as antigens for the development of diagnosis kit or vaccines for Aujeszky's disease.
