Study on the Desalinization in Tiolal Land (간석지 제람에 관한 연구)

  • The objeative of this study is to study how to rapidly convert tidal land into cultivable land. The study of a rapid, reasonable desalinization method is conducted at Namyang tidal land which represents soil texture of tidal lands along the south west costa larea of Korea. Therefore, Researches were made at many Pilots in order to find a way of high efficiency of leaching with simpler facilities and cheaper costs. The results of study are briefly summarized as follaws: 1. Subdrainage efficieny is 35%. This is a Poorly drained area, and needs longer leaching desalinization period. 2. The efficieny of desalinization in P.V.C 16 meters plot is the same as that of mole drainage 2 meters plot. P.V.C 4 meters plot has desalinization effect as much as two times compared to P.V.C 16 meters plot. 3. Because the soil texture is silty-clay, desalinization in non-treated plot of sub-drainage and surface drainage desalinization take three times longer period in comparision with P.V.C 4 meters plot. 4. As to the desalinization rate of soluble salt in the soil, the efficieny of desalinization of the topsoil in P.V.C plots was 50% higher than that of mole drainage plot and about 170% higher than that of non-treated plot. In the deep soil salt accumulation at topsoil was observed in non-treated and mole drainage plots, but efficiency in P.V.C polt is about 40 times as high as that of mole drainage and non-treated plot. 5. As to the results of use gypsum and lime as sub-drainage soil improver, gypsum was 60% more efficieny than lime in the continuously inundated plot and 44% in the intermittently inundated plot. The efficieny of gypsum and lime in the intermittently flooded plot is 35% and 42% higher than that of continuously flooded plot reapeaticee1y.

  • 3∼6m long plot with 3-4 replications will be practical for yield trials in the early hybrid generations. The C. V. values with 9m long plot was about 6.6% in variety Yudal and 13.9% in 12m plot. These results indicate that 9-12m plot with 3-4 replications could be employed in securate yield test in the advanced generations.

  • Optimum plot shape and size in a uniformity trial in the newly founded experimental farm of KAERI were determined for seed yield with the basic units consisted of 2.5m $\times$ 0.6m plot. Various plot sizes and shapes were made by combination of the basic units. Coefficients of variations for yield were 21% in local branch type variety Kumkang-Dairip and 20% in the introduced branchless type variety Clark. This result indicates that the field in the new experimental farm is appropriate for soybean yield trials when adequate number of replications are employed in the field experiment. In general, C. V. values were gradually decreased with increase of plot sizes. Although the data were not consistant, the errors for the long narrow plots tend to have somewhat smaller than for the square shape plots. A sharp decrease in C.V. value was found from the $4.5\textrm{m}^2$ plot in the variety Kumkang-Dairip and from the $6\textrm{m}^2$ plot in the variety Clark. These results imply that 5-$6\textrm{m}^2$ plot could be used for yield trials in early generations of hybrid progenies. 2.5-5m long plot with 3-4 replications will be practical for yield trials in the early hybrid generations. The C.V. values with 7.5m long plot was about 16% in both varieties and 15.3% in 10m plot. These results indicate that 7.5-10m plot with 3-4 replications could be employed in accurate yield test in the advanced generations.

  • Tree height at age 10 was used to estimate the statistical efficiencies of sampling size in the progeny test of Pinus koraiensis S. et Z. Experimental design was RCB design which consists of 25 half-sib families in each of three blocks. The number of families and blocks were fixed, therefore, the number of trees sampled per plot was the only factor that influences the environmental portion of the family mean height. Coefficient of variation, the estimate of the standard error of the family mean height, decreased with increase of sampling plot size, and became stable from 4-tree plot sampling (6.97%). The experimental error was significant from 7-tree sampling plot size. Nonlinear relationship (${\hat{Y}}=10.425e-^{0.073x}$ ; $R^2$=0.840) was found between the sampling plot size and the standard error of family mean height.

  • We have investigated dielectric properties depending on temperature and voltage in organic light-emitting diodes using N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-(1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-di-amine (TPD) as an hole transport. We analyzed the Cole-Cole plot of TPD. When the voltage is over 3 V, we found that a radius of Cole-Cole plot and $\beta$ increase as the temperature increases to 65 $^{\circ}C$, However, as the over the 65 $^{\circ}C$, those values decrease. Also, when the voltage is below 3 V, a radius of cole-cole plot and $\beta$ increase with the increased temperature.

  • The result which I tried to get double crops of potatoes on the wet paddy fields through the underdrainage of P V.C pipe from March 1977 to June 1977 in Jung cheon-Ri, Jinseong-men, Jinyang gun, Kungsangnamdo are followings.1. During this experimental period, the temperature on the average was 15.67$^{\circ}C$ (yearly mean 14.78$^{\circ}C$ that was suitable in growing potatoes, while the amount of rainfall was not much heavier from middle of April to early in May. Therefore the yield of potatoes in the wet fields was so high. 2. The soil temperature of the treated plot in the underground of 10cm, 30cm, 60cm, 80cm, has risen to 1.38$^{\circ}C$, 1.32$^{\circ}C$, 1.45$^{\circ}C$, 1.28$^{\circ}C$, comparing to the soil temperature in the control plot respectively. 3. The discharge from subdrainage pipes was 0.6751/sec/ha on the average. 4. The treated plot showed better growth than the control plot, and the yield has been increased 424.8%, while they have been preserved to be voluntary from the level of "t" test.

  • Self-aligned AlGaAs/GaAs HBTs with the emitter area of 1.5*10.mu.$m^{2}$ were fabricated usng $WN_{x}$ as emitter metal. Their DC and RF characteristics were investigated. The common emitter current gain was 45 at $J_{c}$ = 6*$10^{4}$A/$cm^{2}$. From the Gummel plot, the ideality factors of $I_{c}$ and $I_{B}$ were 1.18 and 1.70, respectively. Emitter and base resistance were extracted from voltage drop region in gummel plot, and their values were 5.3.ohm. and 38.2.ohm.. The extrapolated $f_{T}$ = 72GHz and $f_{max}$ = 81GHz were obtained at $V_{CE}$ = 2V.

  • Carbon nitride ($CN_X$) films were prepared by reactive RF magnetron sputtering system at various deposition conditions and the C-V characteristics of MIS(metal - insulator - semiconductor) capacitors that have the structures of Al/$CN_x$/p-Si/Al and Al/$CN_x$/$Si_3N_4$/p-Si/Al were investigated. The resistivity of carbon nitride was above $2.40{\times}10^8{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ at room temperature. The C-V plot showed a typical capacitance-voltage characteristics of semiconductor insulating layers, while it showed hysterisis due to interface charges. Amorphous carbon nitride (a-$CN_x$) films, that have relatively high resistivity and low dielectric constant could be useful as interlayer insulator materials of VLSI(very large-scale integration) and ULSI(ultra large-scale integration).

  • Using N_ Ch silicon gate technology . the capacitors and transistors with various dimenssion were fabricated. Although the applied process was somewhat standard the conditions of ion implantation for the gate were varied by changing the implant energies from 30keV to 60keV for B and from 100 keV to 175keV for P . The doses of the implant also changed from 3 $\times$ 10 /$\textrm{cm}^2$ to 5 $\times$ 10 /$\textrm{cm}^2$ for B and from 4$\times$ 10 /$\textrm{cm}^2$ to 7 $\times$ 10 /$\textrm{cm}^2$ for P . The D. C. parameters such as threshold voltage. substrate doping level, the degree of inversion, capacitance. flat band voltage, depletion layer width, gate oxide thickless, surface states, motile charge density, electron mobility. leakage current were evaluated and also compared with the corresponing theoretical values and / or good numbers for application. The threshold voltages measured using curve tracer and C-V plot gave good agreements with the values calculated from SUPREM II which has been developed by Stanford University process group. The threshold vol tapes with back gate bias were used to calculate the change of the substrate doping level. The measured subthreshold slope enabled the prediction of the degree of inversion The D. C. testing results suggest the realized capacitors and transistors are suited for the memory applications.

A Study on the Underdrainage of Wet Paddy Fields by Using P.V.C. Pipes (PVC관을 이용한 배수연구)

  • Underdrainage has been studied by using PVC suction pipes in the low and wet Paddy field: Fist, three test plot and three control plots were set and drainage methods and Soil tempratures in the test plots have been examined. The experiment was conducted making use of the 'NONG-RIM No, 4'(Wheat) 'DOWON' (rice barley), a recommended variety. Test period was from September, to December, 1969. The experimental methodsand results obtained through this experimontation are as follows: 1) Ground water level in the test plot goes down by 34 cm. 2) In sprouting, control plot is earlier than test plot by three days. 3) The rate of sprouting is equal.
