Suggestion for sustainable development of Korean traditional wooden Structure (Hanok)

  • Recently, the wooden structure has been revived again as an eco-friendly structure technique. It is the counterattack of the wood material, which has become more recognized as a finishing material pushed by the concrete material in the rapid growth after the Industrial Revolution. However, it is difficult to conclude that this is a tendency of the construction market in the whole country. Perhaps this is a tendency to appear more strongly in Korea. It could be seen by comparing the characteristics of the overseas construction market with Korean's and the advanced constructed case of large-scale wooden structures in overseas. National wooden buildings show own characteristics such as construction methods, materials, and member dimensions of wood structures by country, which could be seen as a result of continuously developing their own technology. However, in Korea, despite its unique wooden structure and technology (Hanok; Korean traditional housing), it has not been developed continuously and treated it only as a living building exhibit. This is evidenced by the fact that only one percent of the building is constructed with traditional wooden building technology. Therefore, there are various efforts to modernize the traditional wooden structure technology, but it still does not reach the level of advanced wooden technology abroad. The characteristics of the Korean wooden building market were analyzed in order to suggest ways to develop the Korean wood structure technology. The characteristics of Hanok construction were analyzed through quantitative criteria to define the main development tasks for Hanok development to propose the long-term development path.

시장정비사업의 효율적 실시를 위한 제도개선방안 연구 (A Study on the System Improvement Plan for an Efficient Market Maintenance Project)

  • Purpose - This paper attempts to identify the problems and limitations of a market maintenance project conducted according to the 「Special Act for the Development of Traditional Markets and Shopping Street」 and to present a revised direction for the special law and lay the groundwork for market maintenance projects to be promoted smoothly. Research design, data, and methodology - The revised direction for the legislation and the proposal were written based on an investigation of the problems and the legal system, and proposed measures for market maintenance operation and system improvements to derive the improvements needed for market maintenance projects. Results - A market maintenance project has been conducted as a means to reinvigorate traditional markets that are economically depressed, and to revive the local economy. It was largely conducted in the form of reconstruction and redevelopment and represents the interests of landowners and merchants. Thus, it is most likely to contribute to the gradual disappearance of traditional markets. First, as part of a market maintenance project, many companies are building multipurpose buildings or high-rise residential buildings to increase profits. In these high-rise buildings, they can raise rents, which may not be affordable for some existing small businesses. To solve such problems, the large-scale store registration requirement needs to be relaxed or abolished once the market maintenance project is completed. If the large-scale store registration requirement is to be abolished, the term 'large retail store' should be changed in the 「Special Act for the Development of Traditional Markets and Shopping Street」. After registration, the Small and Medium Business Administration should train merchants, offer consultations, and support events, to the extent that the existing traditional market management modernization project permits, and further continue to manage and support its ongoing activities. However, unless large-scale store registration is abolished, adding an exception clause in the special law to relax large-scale store registration criteria, and permitting changes to building use is another option. At the end of a market maintenance project, empty stores should be purchased by the Small and Medium Business Administration, and local government, etc., at the actual construction cost, to utilize them as public rental shopping areas, which in turn may be re-utilized as a temporary market for another market maintenance project. The second problem in market maintenance projects is merchant-protection. Currently, the special law prescribes that a temporary market be created for merchants to conduct business during the rental period of a market maintenance project. Conclusions - In reality, a market maintenance project is conducted usually in big metropolitan cities with 500,000 residents or more. The main building type created under these projects is a multipurpose building. For this reason, it is very difficult to secure a location for a temporary market in the surrounding area of such a project. To solve this problem, this study suggests 'public rental shopping areas' as mentioned above.

  • Korea rapidly arranged urbanization and overpopulation with high growth of economy and all kinds of decrepit facilities are scattered all over the downtown. If there is a strong wind in fire, fire is rapidly increased by various fire spread factors. And Korea cannot build prediction model of urban fire combustion phenomena because there is no studies that physically explains the suitable flame phenomena for its real state. In this study, based on the Japanese Urban fire simulation to target the traditional market area and suitability of fire risk assessment were reviewed.

스마트 플랫폼을 이용한 전통시장 활성화 방안 연구 (A study on the Revitalization of Traditional Market with Smart Platform)

  • 현재 국내 전통시장은 중앙정부와 지방자치단체 등 많은 관련 주체들의 다양한 사업 추진에도 불구하고 2000년대 초반부터 시작된 침체의 늪을 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 이러한 전통시장의 봉착된 위기를 극복하기 위하여 최근에는 빅데이터 분석, 인공지능, 사물인터넷 등과 같은 정보통신기술이 융합된 스마트 전통시장 구축 방안에 대한 R&D가 다양하게 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전통시장 활성화 관련하여 2012년 이후부터 최근까지 진행되었던 여러 선행연구 및 전통시장 이용자, 해외 전통시장의 ICT 기술 적용사례 등을 분석하고, 분석된 내용을 토대로 ICT 기술을 활용하여 스마트 전통시장을 구축하기 위한 모델을 제안한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 모델에는 방문객과 상호작용할 수 있는 전통시장 메타버스의 구축, NFC 기술을 접목시킨 디지털 사이니지를 통한 전통시장 방문 인증, IoT와 AI 기술을 적용한 화재감지 기능의 정확성 고도화, 시장 상품 출시 정보 및 이벤트 알림을 위한 스마트폰 앱 개발, 그리고 이상 네 가지 방안과 연동하는 전자상거래 시스템을 포함하는 방안이 포함된다. 제안 모델은 온라인 쇼핑 및 모바일 기기 사용에 익숙한 MZ 세대를 전통시장의 주요 고객으로 확대시키기 위한 방안이라 말할 수 있다. 따라서 제시된 모델을 기반으로 스마트 전통시장 플랫폼이 구현되어 운영된다면, MZ 세대 및 외국인 관광객들에게 전통시장에 대한 흥미와 관심을 이끌어 낼 수 있어 스마트 전통시장을 하나의 문화 콘텐츠로 자리매김하게 만들 것이며, 보다 안전한 시장 환경 조성과 함께 적시에 효과적인 마케팅을 전개할 수 있어 향후 전통시장 활성화에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

전통시장 서제 중심의 디스플레이 연구 및 전용서체 개발 (A Study on the Display and Exclusive Font Development in Traditional Markets)

  • 전통시장은 지역주민의 전통문화와 정서가 담긴 곳으로 단순히 상품의 거래의 공간이 아닌 문화공간, 지역 경제, 커뮤니티 등 우리 삶의 중심에 있어 왔다. 그러나 시설의 노후화 등으로 대형마트, 백화점등에 소비자를 지속적으로 빼앗기고 있는 실정이다. 내부 시설을 포함 디스플레이에 대한 인식이 낮아 겉모습에 비해 개발이 매우 저조한 실정이며 특히 제품명, 가격표, 원산지 등을 표기한 표지판은 시장 내 들어서면 가장 먼저 눈에 띔에도 불구하고 개선이 되어 있지 않은 실정이며 이러한 전통시장 서체에 대한 개선이 필요한 실정이다. 전통시장 내 사용되는 서체를 조사 분석을 진행해 차후에 더 나아가 전통시장만의 전용 서체를 만들어 시장 서체의 통일성을 갖추고 차별화 된 아이덴티티를 구축하여 전통시장 전용 서체를 개발하고자 한다.

  • Till now, the roles of a tradition market were a circulation of the necessities of life, a employment market of local society, a center of community, and a main structure of local economy. Recently, these tradition market is on the decline because it couldn't cope with the internal and external changes. It is recognized that these phenomenon is a factor of economy unbalance. So, to activate the local economy, tradition market should be promoted. Therefore, external changes such as the increase of competition intensity and the changes of consume pattern, internal changes such as the deterioration of facility and old fashioned management were analysed. The activation plan of traditional market were suggested through the decision index for the tradition market in this study.

자갈치 수산관광단지 조성방안에 관한 연구 - 먹거리를 중심으로 - (Developing the Jagalchi Marine Tour Complexes - Focusing on Foods -)

  • The objective of this study is to suggest development methods of marine tour complexes by specializing and modernizing the renowned Jagalchi Fish Market. This study tries to suggest the ways of overcoming limitations of the traditional market place and making a unique tourism destination with affluent attractive culture elements. To preserve its position as the most famous fish market in Korea, Jagalchi market needs to more differentiate its position over competitors. To do that, it needs to avoid over-lapping of product categories among different sectors and specializing each zone according to the assigned theme. Improving tourism environments by expanding entertaining aspects, building landmark facilities and a seaside park, and tourism infrastructures. In addition, the development scheme needs to be planned unified with other city development plans to create a unified image, and a connection program with other tourism resources surrounding the target area needs to be created in order to pursue synergy effects. In the aspect of food, a large seafood center which offers various seafood from all around the world, a traditional night market street, various theme restaurants can be suggested. Successful development of the Jagalchi marine tour complexes not only has ripple effects on the region's culture, society, and other related industries but directly influences related regional tourism and commercial industry.

Development of a New Direct Marketing Channel in the Chinese Rural Market: The Case of Hongfu Fertilizer Company

  • Distribution channel decisions involve long-term commitments with other firms that are very difficult to change or replace. In particular, marketing channel decisions in emerging markets are much more complicated due to unfamiliar conditions and problems such as lack of market data and distribution systems. Therefore, when a company considers changing or introducing a marketing channel in an area, it is much more difficult to judge its effectiveness in an emerging market than in a developed market. In this study, we investigate the development process of a new direct marketing channel of Hongfu Fertilizer Company (hereafter Hongfu), a medium-sized Chinese fertilizer manufacturer, and propose an approach to test the feasibility of this new marketing channel in the Chinese rural market. We measure the effectiveness of Hongfu's new marketing channel from two perspectives: i) from customers' perspective through direct responses of farmers, which showed that a new channel can increase the convenience and lower the purchasing costs for the farmers, and ii) from the company's perspective, by calculating the incremental profit of the company using the expansion factor (T/Q) method, which suggested that the execution of Hongfu's strategy to expand a new marketing channel will result in an increase in profits. The results of this study contribute to the development of a methodology to test the feasibility of a new direct marketing channel in the emerging markets such as the Chinese rural market. Traditional and indirect distribution channels in emerging markets are generally not very efficient and difficult to change. Especially, in emerging markets, like the Chinese rural market, the methods of testing channel feasibility must be different from that of developed markets. Considering market situations, market experiments can be more effective then systematic market surveys in testing channel feasibility in emerging markets. This study implies that managers must learn to cope with a transition from the traditional marketing channels in emerging markets. With the development in farmers' understanding of marketing concept, the transition from traditional marketing channel is unavoidable for all firms. Farmers in China are generally very conservative, however, their buying behaviors are changing. Therefore, fertilizer companies should try to adjust in accordance with farmers' demand characteristics that the efforts to meet the economic needs of farmers with new marketing channels as well as trust building are critical in the near future.

건물형 전통시장 화재발생시 피난안전성 확보를 위한 규모별 주요구조부 내화보강 연구 (A Study on the Enhancement of Fire Resistance Function in Primary Structure Department of Building Type Traditional Market)

  • 본 연구는 건물형 전통시장의 화재 시뮬레이션을 통해 실내온도를 도출하여 온도구배를 이용하여 주요구조부의 온도를 산출하여 구조체 한계온도에 도달하는 시간과, 피난 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 도출 된 피난완료시간을 비교하여 피난안전성을 평가하였다. 피난안전성이 확보되지 않는 건축물의 주요구조부재에 내화보강을 0.01~0.035 m 두께로 실시하는 것을 개선안으로 제시하여 피난안전성을 확보하고자 하였다. 소형과 중형은 내화보강이 0.025 m 이상일 때, 중대형과 대형은 0.035 m 이상 보강시 안전성이 확보되는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 피난안전성의 확보하기 위해선 내화 보강이 적용되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

문화관광형시장 육성을 위한 스토리텔링개발연구 - 제천중앙시장을 중심으로 (A Study on the Development of Storytelling for Culture and Tourism Market Development - Based on Jecheon Central Market)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 도시 재생사업의 일환인 전통시장의 활성화를 중심으로 전통시장 활성화 사업 중 문화 관광형 사업에서 지역적으로 노후화와 본래 전통시장의 기능을 잃어버린 제천중앙시장의 정체성확립을 위해 시장고유의 자원을 통한 스토리개발을 통하여 특색과 차별화된 요소를 적용한 문화관광형 시장으로 고도화가 그 목적이다. 이를 위해 제천지역의 기초조사 및 분석과 제천중앙시장의 현황조사를 통하여 문제점을 진단하고, 지역상인 및 방문객의 설문을 통하여 키워드를 분석하였다. 제천중앙시장의 활성화방안을 각 층 및 공간별 도출하여 제천 중앙시장만의 디자인스토리를 개발 및 적용하여 제천중앙시장의 전통시장이 가지고 있는 지역적, 문화적인 요소를 통한 지역의 본연의 전통시장의 모습을 되찾고, 향후 지역의 랜드마크가 될 수 있는 공간적인 장소성과 문화의 중심지가 될 수 있도록 한다. 이를 위하여 디자인된 스토리텔링은 제천중앙시장의 C.I. 및 건물외관 뿐만 아니라 각 층별 공간계획에도 적용, 연계되어야 하며, 제천중앙시장의 아이덴티티를 다시 확립할 수 있도록 한다.
