  • Building-Integrated Photovoltaic System(BIPV) has a muti-functional to generate electrical power and be able to be exterior materials for building. When PV modules are applied as envelope materials for building, the PV modules are considered on characteristics of the thermal effect and performance of PV module to optimize BIPV system synthetically. The purpose of this study is analysis of the changes of temperature and performance on PV modules. after installing four PV modules that have different ventilation type of PV module backside. Measurement results on this experiment is that the ventilation of PV module backside can control elevated module temperature and improve the performance of PV module. So, the technology development on the ventilation of PV module is suggested introducing effective BIPV system.

  • Nowaday, The Sustainable Development about global environment is the most important subject. In urban environment, a variety of the nature energy utilization such as the solar energy are the most efficient solution to solve this issue. One of these efficient solutions, a photovoltaic system using sunlight has been introduced to the building with an advantage such as cost-effective, safe for using and good for environment friendly in light with energy utilization. Recently, many of the apartment housings are built in domestic country. The apartment buildings have been constructed since early of 1970's. now apartment is taking over 50% out of entire housing in korea. The apartment housing applying to a photovoltaic system has been extensively studied in the foreign country but our county runs short. So, It was necessary to technical development of PV application which is suitable in Korean house culture. The objective of this study is to develop the building integrated PV application method for apartment building.

  • Today, the need for alternative energy has increased due to the global environmental problems and energy depletion. In order to solve a global environmental matter and an energy issue simultaneously, the application of the renewable energies in building has been constantly demanded. therefore, we must develop new energy resources that are abundant and provide substitutes for fossil fuels and we must study the application method of the renewable energies in building. Among renewable energies, the solar energy(photovoltaic system) is clean, inexhaustible, and available everywhere in the world and is judged to have the application possibility in building. Daegu city has a plan of putting a photovoltaic system on large buildings. For instance, EXCO, exhibition and convention building, and dormitory in Kyungpook National University, Dongho elementary school, Osan building in Keimyung University, Young korea academy in Daegu, are on the process of having a photovoltaic system. Therefore a study on the performance of photovoltaic system is important for the system design and maintenance. this paper describes the first invest cost, and performance test of the 95kW utility-interactive photovoltaic power system.

  • To expect accurately the maximum power of solar cell module under various installation conditions, it is required to know the performance characteristics like temperature dependence. Today, the PV (photovoltaic) market in Korea has been growing. Also BIPV (building integrated photovoltaic) systems are diversified and become popular. But thermal dependence of PV module is little known to customers and system installers. In IEC 61215,a regulation for testing the crystalline silicon solar cell module, the testing method is specified for modules. However there is limitation for testing the module with diverse application examples. In extreme installation method, there is no air flow between rear side of module and ambient, and it can induce temperature increase. In this paper, we studied the roof type installation of PV module on the surface of one-axis tracker system. We measured temperature on every component of PV module and compared to open-rack structure. As a result, we provide the foundation that explains temperature characteristics and NOCT (nominal operation cell temperature) difference.   • Building Integrated PV(BIPV) is one of the best fascinating PV application technologies. To apply PV module in building, various factors should be reflected such as installation position, shading, temperature, and so on. Especially a temperature should be considered, for it affects both electrical efficiency of a PV module and heating/cooling load in a building. It reports the effect of thermal characteristics of the PV module on generation performance. The study was performed by monitoring the temperature and experiment. The results showed that 1 degree temperature rise reduced about 0.48% of output power.

  • Building-integrated photovoltaics(BIPV)are increasingly incorporate into new domestic and industrial buildings as a proncipal or ancillary source of electrical power, and are on of the fastest growing segments of the photovoltaic industry. This paper presents operational features analysis and PCS(Power conversion System) factors of grid-connected 30kW BIPV on library of Dongshin University. The data consisted of insolation, Temperature, solar-cell performance and inverter performance are collected by IVIsion web monitoring system and analyzed. The analyzed data gave this paper effect elements of optimal operation.

  • This paper presents the configuration and characteristic analysis of the protection system to improve the safety of the building integrated photovoltaic(BIPV) system. BIPV is a solar power system installed in buildings. Since the BIPV system is installed in buildings, there is a high risk of electric shock and fire accidents. Therefore, in order to improve the safety of BIPV, a protective system is required to block or quickly detect risk factors. In this paper, as a protection system to improve the safety of the BIPV system, it is composed of a rapid shutdown (RSD) that can quickly separate the PV system to prevent fire and electric shock accidents and a system to detect Arc faults that cause PV system fires. RSD and Arc Fault Detector analyzed the operating characteristics according to each condition and confirmed that the safety of the BIPV system can be improved through this.

수치표면모형 기반의 방음벽일체형 태양광 시스템 설치 적지분석 (Digital Surface Model based Proper Installation Site Analysis for Soundproof Wall Integrated Phtovoltaic System)

  • 대부분의 건물일체형 태양광 발전 시스템(BIPVS; Building Integrated Photovoltaic System)은 건물의 옥상이나 벽면에 설치된다. 따라서 BIVPS의 설치 위치 선정 시 고려해야할 가장 중요한 요소는 주변 건물에 의한 그림자 영향이다. 그러나 지면 위에 있는 방음벽에 태양광 시스템을 설치할 경우, 그림자는 주변 건물은 물론 가로수에 의해서도 생성된다. 따라서 방음벽 일체형 태양광 발전 시스템(SIPVS; Soundproof wall Integrated Photovoltaic System)의 설치 적합지를 선정하기 위해서는 BIPVS의 경우와 다른 데이터 모델 및 알고리즘이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 수치표면모형 기반의 방음벽 일체형 태양광 시스템의 설치 적지 분석을 다룬다. 첫째, 설치 후보지(태양광 패널)의 연간 태양 입사각과 고도각을 계산한다. 둘째, 설치 후보지의 시간대 별 그림자 생성 여부를 수치표면모형을 이용하여 결정한다. 셋째, 그림자가 생성되지 않은 시간대의 태양 입사각을 이용하여 일사량을 계산한다. 일사량의 연간 누적 비교를 통하여 일사량이 충분한 곳을 SIPVS의 설치 적합지로 결정할 수 있다. 제안된 알고리즘은 시작품 형태로 구현(Java Program)되었다. 실험 결과, 총 아홉 곳의 후보지에 대한 설치 적합도의 순서를 결정할 수 있었다. 제안된 알고리즘은 건물의 낮은 위치에 설치할 BIPVS의 적정 설치위치 및 기대 전력 생산량의 계산에도 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • The PV arrays were designed as sunshade devices at the building in the KIER(Korea Institute of Energy Research). The arrays are shaded by the above placed devices. In this paper, it was analyzed that the performance and characteristic of the BIPV system by partial shading could reliably be calculated with Solar Pro.
