  • Owing to the superior optoelectronic properties, halide perovskites have emerged as next-generation materials for display application. In this study, we reported a novel route for CsPbBr3 calcination into porous SiO2 nanoparticles to overcome the stability issues of halide perovskite via a spatial confinement of crystal growth within SiO2 pores. The resulting CsPbBr3-SiO2 nanoparticles exhibited the photoluminescence (PL) emission peak at 515 nm under optimal calcination condition. In several polar solvents, PL properties of CsPbBr3-SiO2 nanoparticles was maintained owing to the enclosed pores during calcination process, suggesting their promising application for display color conversion film.

  • A premixing effect for the properties of carbon black-filled rubber compounds was investigated using biblends of natural rubber (NR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), and butadiene rubber (BR). Degree of mixing of the biblends was controlled by preblending time of 0.0, 2.5, and 5.0 min. Mooney viscosities of the compounds decreased by increasing the preblending time. Of three carbon black-filled compounds of NR/SBR, NR/BR, and SBR/BR compounds, only the SBR/BR blends showed a specific cure characteristics depending on the preblending time. For the bound rubber composition, the NR content was higher than SBR and BR. The difference in the rubber composition ratio of the bound rubber became smaller with increasing the preblending time. Physical properties of the vulcanizates such as hardness, modulus, tensile property, abrasion loss, and tans were also compared. Differences in properties of the compounds were discussed with miscibility of the dissimilar rubbers and degree of mixing.

  • Resonance frequencies from the $^{113}Cd$ and $^{133}Cs$ nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra for the $CsCdBr_3$ single crystal were measured at varying temperatures by the static NMR method. The temperature-dependent changes of these frequencies are related to the changing structural geometry of the ${CdBr_6}^{4-}$ units, which affects the environment of $^{133}Cs$. The spin-lattice relaxation rates ($1/T_1$) for the $^{113}Cd$ and $^{133}Cs$ nuclei were measured in order to obtain detailed information about the dynamics of $CsCdBr_3$ crystals. The dominant relaxation mechanisms for $^{113}Cd$ and $^{133}Cs$ nuclei are direct single-phonon and Raman spin-phonon processes, respectively.

  • The nuclear magnetic resonance of the $^{23}Na$ nucleus in a $NaBrO_3$ single crystal was investigated at the temperature range of 200 K~410 K. The tendencies of temperature dependence of the nuclear quadrupole coupling for the two magnetically inequivalent Na(I) and Na(II) centers are found to be opposite to each other. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation mechanism of $^{23}Na$ in the $NaBrO_3$ crystal is investigated, and the result revealed that the Raman process is dominant in the temperature range investigated. The relaxation process of the $^{23}Na$ nuclear spins was well described by a single exponential function in time. The $T_1$ values of the $^{23}Na$ nuclei in the $NaBrO_3$ single crystal decreased with increasing temperature. The calculated activation energy for the $^{23}Na$ is $0.032{\pm}0.002eV$.

  • To produce low cost and efficient photovoltaic cells, inorganic-organic lead halide perovskite materials appear promising for most suitable solar cells owing to their high power conversion efficiency. Most recent research showes that formamidinium lead iodide ($FAPbI_3$) with methylammonium lead bromide ($MAPbBr_3$) improves the power conversion efficiency of the solar cell to more than 18 per cent under a standard illumination because incorporated $MAPbBr_3$ makes $FAPbI_3$-relatively unstable but comparatively narrow band gap-more stable composition. In respect to first principle study, we investigated band gap of $MAPbI_3$, $FAPbI_3$, $MAPbBr_3$, $(FAPbI_3)_{0.89}-(MAPbBr_3)_{0.11}$ and 0.615(eV), 0.466, 1.197, 0.518 respectively through EDISON DFT software. These results emphasize enhancing structure stability is important factor as well as finding narrow band gap.

  • Attempts were made to see if we could cut more pBR322 in the presence of ginseng saponin fraction in connection with possibly for shortening the enzymatic reaction time and the amount of the enzyme to be used. The following results were obtained restriction endonucleases such as AccI, XhoII, SaII, and HincII were observed to cut pBR322 efficiently at 10-1% ginseng saponin fraction. In case of BamHI, 10-2% ginseng saponin fraction was observed to the most effective concentration. Such cumulative results suggest that ginseng saponin fraction would play important role as far as the cleavage of pBR322 for short period by endonucleases is concerned.

  • The reaction between $[CdBr_2{\cdot}4H_2O]$ and anhydrous $[ZnCl_2]$ with N,N'-bidentate N-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)-cyclopentanamine (impy) in ethanol yields dimeric $[(impy)Cd({\mu}-Br)Br]_2$ and monomeric $[(impy)ZnCl_2]$ complexes, respectively. The X-ray crystal structure of Cd(II) and Zn(II) complexes revealed that the cadmium atom in $[(impy)Cd({\mu}-Br)Br]_2$ and zinc in $[(impy)ZnCl_2]$ formed a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal and tetrahedral geometry, respectively. Both complexes showed moderate catalytic activity for the polymerisation of methyl methacrylate (MMA) in the presence of modified methylaluminoxane (MMAO), with polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) syndiotacticity of about 0.70.

  • Hydrogenations of BR and NR performed by a noncatalytic method using p-toluenesulphonylhydrazide were carried out by reactive processing. The experimental procedures for carrying out the reaction were established. Two steps comprising premixing of the rubber with TSH followed by hydrogenation in compression mould were proved to be suitable. The percentages of hydrogenation attained by reactive processing were higher than those of the reaction carried out in solution at the same [TSH]/[C=C] ratio, reaction temperature and time. In-creasing the reaction temperature and reaction time resulted in increases of the percentage of hydrogenation. For BR, the maximum percentage of hydrogenation obtained was 36% at [TSH]/[C=C]=1/1.5. For NR, the highest percentage of hydrogenation was 34% at [TSH]/[C=C]=1/1.5. Cis-trans isomerisation was also observed to occur during hydrogenation of both BR and NR. Thermal stabilities of the hydrogenated BR and NR were shown to improve over those or the unhydrogenated counterparts.
