Gamma distributions are some of the most popular models for hydrological processes. In this paper, a very flexible family which contains the gamma distribution as a particular case is introduced. Evidence of flexibility is shown by examining the shape of its pdf and the associated hazard rate function. A comprehensive treatment of the mathematical properties is provided by deriving expressions for the nth moment, moment generating function, characteristic function, Renyi entropy and the asymptotic distribution of the extreme order statistics. Estimation and simulation issues are also considered. Finally, a detailed application to drought data from the State of Nebraska is illustrated.

This paper approximates to a kernel density estimate by a truncated series of expansion involving Hermite polynomials, since this could ease the computing burden involved in the kernel-based density estimation. However, this truncated series may give a multimodal estimate when we are estiamting unimodal density. In this paper we will show a way to insure the truncated series to be positive and unimodal so that the approximation to a kernel density estimator would be maeningful.

The purpose of this study was defined efficient throw motion pattern to obtain the quantitative data and to achieve successful bowling through kinetic - kinematic variables on the throw motion. Subject of group composed of three groups : Higher bowlers who are two representative bowlers with 200 average points and one pro-bowler. Middle bowlers who are three common persons with 170 average points. Lower bowler who are three common persons with 150 average points. Motion analysis on throw motion in three groups respectively has been made through three-dimension cinematography using DLT method. Two high-speed video camera at operating 180 frame per secondary. One-way ANOVA has been used to define variable relations. Analyzed result and conclusion are the following : The displacement of back of the hand must have wider difference of each right-left displacement to increase the spin of the ball. In high bowlers group, difference between the front-rear position of back of the hand in case of success and that in case of failure in follow throw is 0.17m. That is to say, momentum in case of success come to increase greatly, compared with that in case of failure. To increase the spin of the ball, the potential difference should be narrower in follow through. In case of the high bowlers, the velocity of the front-rear direction of the back of the hand has been the fastest both in release and follow through, compared with those in other groups, which has contributed to increasing the spin force of the ball. The orders in the resultant velocity of the back of the hand has shown the this : the finger tip$\rightarrow$the back of the hand$\rightarrow$wrist.These orders made the proximal segment support the distal segment. The distal segment has provided the condition to accelerate the velocity. In case of failure, the suddenly increased velocity has caused the failure in the follow through. Acutely flexing the angle of the back of the hand has contributed to lifting to increase the spin of the ball.

인터파크의 도서부문인 북파크는 비교적 일찍부터 온라인 도서판매를 시작해 왔으나 그 성과는 지지 부진하였으며, 도서 전문몰에 항상 뒤쳐져 있었다. 북파크의 부진은 인터파크 전체 성과에도 악영향을 미쳐서 인터파크의 대기업 계열의 인터넷 쇼핑몰과의 경쟁에서도 허덕이고 있었다. 이 때 배수진을 치고전임직원들이 과감히 승부수를 던진 것이 바로 도서무료배송 전면적 실시였다. 도서무료배송은 배송비증가로 인한 수익악화와 경쟁업체의 모방이라는 위험이 있었지만, 간접적인 가격할인 효과로 인한 도서 매출의 증대와 타 품목으로의 구매전환이라는 긍정적인 밤항에 승부를 걸었던 것이다. 이를 통해 인터파크는 온라인 도서부분 1위 업체로 부상했다. 또한 이를 바탕으로 전체매출액에서도 쇼핑몰 업계 1위를 탈환하는 성과를 달성하였다. 이는 고객지항적인 태도로 사전에 철저한 시장 고객분석을 통해 도서무료배송의 성공에 대한 확신을 가지고 경쟁사보다 앞서간 결과였다. 본 사례는 인터넷 마케팅에서 시장선점을 위한 과감한 승부수와 이를 뒷받침하는 절저한 시장과 경쟁사 분석이 얼마나 중요한지를 보여주고 있다.

This study attempts to examine the regional distribution and the locational pattern of leisure facilities at Kangnam-gu in Seoul. For the convenience of the analysis the facilities are classified into public and private sector and then the facilities are classified into 11 types: mineral spring resort, play ground, neighborhood park, swimming pool, gymnasium, bowling, pingpong, aerobic, golf practice, health, and billiard facilities. For the purpose data was collected from statistical yearbook in 1993 and lists of registered facility at department of living physics of Kangnam-gu office. The data of the density of facilities and the opportunity of facilities per facilities type and per region are analysed with the technology of GIS. Results may be summarized as follows. First of all, correlation between the results of Location-Allocation model and the results of Interaction model is very high. Secondly, on comparing the density of facilities with the opportunity of the facility use per eleven facility types, three discrete spatial pattems are found. The mineral spring resort facility type with the highest unbalanced density and opportunity of facility use is to be found. Play ground, neighborhood park, swimming pool, gymnasium, bowling, pingpong, and aerobic facility types have the high unbalanced density and opportunity of facility use. The golf practice, health, and billiard facility types have spatially balanced density and opportunity of facility use. Thirdly, as comparing the density and the opportunity of the facility use per 'dong' administration unit, the spatial patterns of the public and the private facilities are different in density of the facility use and otherwise two are similar in the opportunity of the facility use. Fourthly, patterns of facilities users have different charateristics based on facility use time, expense, residence, and access time and four regional patterns are to be found ; user favorable, facility profitable, user balanced, and unfavorable.

본 연구는 볼링 선수의 상해 경험과 유형에 따라 상 하지 근력과 좌우 비대칭 차이를 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구 대상자는 상지 상해 경험 집단(upper body injury group, [UG], n=16)과 하지 상해 경험 집단(low body injury group, [LG], n=8), 상해 미경험 집단(non injury group, [NG], n=15)으로 선정하였다. 볼링 선수의 상 하지 근력은 Manual Muscle Tester 01165 (Lafayette Instrument Company, USA)로 등척성 최대 근력(Isometric strength)을 측정하였으며, 비대칭 지수(symmetry index, [SI])를 산출하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 하지 근력의 좌우 비대칭 지수는 엉덩관절의 신전과 외측회전 최대근력에서 상해 무경험 집단이 하지 상해 경험 집단에 비하여 통계적으로 크게 나타났다(p<.05). 위 결과를 통하여 하지 근력의 좌우 대칭이 하지 상해와 밀접한 관련이 있다고 판단되며, 상해 예방을 위해 하지 근력의 좌우 대칭 훈련이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

본 연구는 양마 3품종을 재식거리, 품종 및 수확시기에 따른 건물수량과 사료성분의 변화를 검토하고자 강원도 철원지역에서 2005년 5월 20일부터 2005년 9월 12일까지 수행되었다. 시험배치는 3반복 분할구 배치로 주구는 재식거리와 수확시기를, 세구는 양마 3품종(Dowling, Everglade 및 Tainung)을 배치했으며, 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 생육일수에 따른 건물 생산량은 93일까지는 재식거리가 $10{\times}10cm^2$ 구에서 높게 나타났다. 품종별 건물생산량에서는 모든 품종이 생육시기가 진행됨에 따라 건물수량이 높아지는 경향을 보였고, 특히 Bowling이 모든 수확시기에서 가장 높은 건물생산량을 보였다. 조단백질 함량은 생육일수가 길어짐에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 특히, 생육 중기(생육일수 84일)을 기준으로 생육초기에는 조단백질 함량은 큰 차이를 나타내지 않았지만, $10{\times}20cm^2$ 구에서 다소 높게 나타났다. 품종별로는 Bowling의 조단백질 함량이 다소 높은 것으로 조사되었으나, 큰 차이는 나타내지 않았다. 재식거리 및 품종에 따른 NDF와 ADF 함량의 차이는 조사된 3 품종 공히 생육시기가 지나감에 따라 다소 증가하는 경향을 보였지만, 큰 유의적 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 보면, 양마는 우리나라 중북부 지방에서 훌흉한 사료작물로서의 가능성이 검증되었고, 특히 Bowling 품종이 재식거리 $10{\times}10cm^2$로 파종하여 104일째 수확했을 때 가장 좋은 건물생산량과 품질을 보여주었다.

This paper is concerned with the question of servicing warranties for repairable items. During the warranty period, each time an item fails the manufacturer has the obligation to restore the item to operational condition either by repairing the item or by replacing it with a new item. In this paper, we consider repair-replacement strategies based on the condition of the failed item. For products with phase-type lifetime distributions where the phases represent the condition of the item, we develop algorithms to determine the expected cost of servicing a warranty and use it in making the repair-replacement decision. Illustrative numerical examples are presented. We also propose a dynamic strategy by taking the expected remaining warranty cost into consideration.

볼링게임에서 충돌기법은 중요한 요소이다. 충돌기법의 구현을 위해서, 본 논문에서는 두 개의 구를 틀 안에서 움직이면서 틀의 벽에 부딪혔을 때 또는 구와 구끼리 충돌이 일어났을 때의 상황을 고려 한다. 구 와 구끼리의 거리차를 계산하여 충돌시점을 알리며 각각의 구의 성질(무게, 속도, 방향 등)에 따라 변하는 모습을 구현한다. 실질적인 응용을 위하여 볼링 핀의 클래스를 만들고 공과 핀끼리의 충돌, 핀과 핀끼리의 충돌을 해석하는 볼링게임을 직접 구현하였다.

The present study investigated some phonetic attributes which distinguish two Korean stop types $^-aspirated$ and $lax^-$ in a prosodic position which has previously received little attention, namely medial in an accentual phrase. The intonational pattern across syllables which are initial in an accentual phrase (Jun, 1993) is said to depend on the type of stop (aspirated or lax), while that of syllables which are medial in an accentual phrase are not. In Experiment 1, nine native Korean speakers read sentences with a controlled prosodic pattern in which aspirated or lax stops occurred in accentual phrase-medial position. Acoustic analysis revealed significant differences between aspirated and lax stops in closure duration, voice-onset time, and fundamental frequency (F0) values for post-stop vowels. The results indicate that a wider range of acoustic cues distinguish aspirated and lax Korean stops than previously demonstrated. Phonetic and phonological models of consonant-tone interactions for Korean will need to be revised to account for these results.
