필라멘트 와인딩법에 의한 단일 개구부 복합재료 압력용기의 개발 (Development of Filament Wound Composite Pressure Vessels with a Single Boss)

  • Double boss type composite pressure bottles have been developed widely but single boss type had not because there are some difficulty in technical point. In this paper a research was performed to develop composite pressure vessel in conjunction with design, fabrication, and test. Fiber pattern and angles were decided by CADFIL software and they are [liner/$15^{\circ}$/$15^{\circ}$/$90^{\circ}$/$18^{\circ}$/$90^{\circ}$/$21^{\circ}$/$21^{\circ}$/$90^{\circ}$]. Fabrication of bottles was done by AEA's 5-axis filament winding machine. During fabrication fiber optic sensor were embedded to measure were behavior of structure at the applied internal pressure. Even though satisfied test results were not obtained, the experimental set-up of fiber optics showed the possibility for the application of filament wound vessels. The complete chloroplast genome of Limonium tetragonum (Plumbaginaceae) isolated in Korea

  • The chloroplast genome of Limonium tetragonum (Thunb.) Bullock, a halophytic species, was sequenced to understand genetic differences based on its geographical distribution. The cp genome of L. tetragonum was 154,689 bp long (GC ratio is 37.0%) and has four subregions: 84,572 bp of large single-copy (35.3%) and 12,813 bp of small single-copy (31.5%) regions were separated by 28,562 bp of inverted repeat (40.9%) regions. It contained 128 genes (83 protein-coding genes, eight rRNAs, and 37 tRNAs). Thirty-five single-nucleotide polymorphisms and 33 INDEL regions (88 bp in length) were identified. Maximum-likelihood and Bayesian inference phylogenetic trees showed that L. tetragonum formed a sister group with L. aureum, which is incongruent with certain previous studies, including a phylogenetic analysis.

  • Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh. is a small plant species that serves as a model organism of plant biology and genetics. Here, we present the first complete mitochondrial genome of Korean A. thaliana natural isolate (named as 180404IB4), which is 368,875 bp long and contains 58 genes (33 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNAs, and three rRNAs), with a GC ratio of 44.8%. Sixty-four single-nucleotide polymorphisms and 11 insertion and deletion regions (1,089 bp in length) are identified against the Col-0 ecotype, showing one large insertion of 1,069 bp without structural variation. Phylogenetic trees constructed from 30 conserved genes indicate that the 180404IB4 mitochondrial genome is clustered with Col-0 and three East Asian ecotypes.

  • The chloroplast genome of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch was sequenced to investigate intraspecific variations on the chloroplast genome. Its length is 127,689 bp long (34.3% GC ratio) with atypical structure of chloroplast genome, which is congruent to those of Glycyrrhiza genus. It includes 110 genes (76 protein-coding genes, four rRNAs, and 30 tRNAs). Intronic region of ndhA presented the highest nucleotide diversity based on the six G. uralenesis chloroplast genomes. A total of 150 single nucleotide polymorphisms and 10 insertion and deletion (INDEL) regions were identified from the six G. uralensis chloroplast genomes. Phylogenetic trees show that the six chloroplast genomes of G. uralensis formed the two clades, requiring additional studies to understand it.

Database of National Species List of Korea: the taxonomical systematics platform for managing scientific names of Korean native species

  • A scientific name is one of changeable terms in biology whenever additional research results of specific taxa is accumulated. The Database of the National Species List of Korea (DBNKo) was developed to manage taxonomic information of Korean species, designed to describe the changeable and complex taxonomical structure and information. A Korean Taxonomical Serial Number (KTSN) was assigned to each taxon, different from the normally used systems that the scientific name was considered as primary key to manage higher rank of taxa systematically. Common names were also treated with the KTSN, reflecting that common name is considered as one type of taxon. Additional taxonomic information (e.g., synonyms, original names, and references) was also added to the database. A web interface with an intuitive dashboard presenting taxonomic hierarchical structure is provided to experts and/or managers of the DBNKo. Currently, several biological databases are available in the National Institute of Biological Resources (NIBR) such as a specimen database, a digital library, a genetic information system, and the shared species data based on the DBNKo. The DBNKo started sharing species information with other institutions such as the Nakdonggang National Institute of Biological Resources. It is an ideal centralized species database to manage standardized information of Korean species.

Integrated Korean Flora Database: A Versatile Web-based Database for Dissecting Flora Investigations

  • Flora investigations have been conducted by many researchers for a long time in Korea. Even though large amount of investigation data has been accumulated, there is no accurate statistics or database because most of data were published in a printed form. We developed a web-based database of flora investigation, named as the Integrated Korean Flora Database (http://www.floradb.net/) to understand distribution patterns and habitats of plants in Korea. Till now, 480 published paper, 356 thesis, 76 reports and books, and 8 unpublished papers written in between 1962 and 2017 were collected and their species lists from 280 papers were parsed into the database. From 124,105 records, 3,100 species belonging to 206 families and 965 genera were identified via comparing with two major Korean plant species lists. 55 endangered species, 159 endemic species, and 367 rare species were identified. The most frequently surveyed species were Commelina communis in herbaceous and Rosa multiflora in woody plants. Microclimate data provided by Korea Meteorological Administration were also integrated and analyzed to assign cold hardness zones for each species. By comparing minimum temperature (<2%) acquired from automated weather stations (AWS) near by plant species, 6a to 10b zones (7b is the most frequent zone) were identified. Integrated Korean Flora Database will be a fundamental platform of korea flora investigation as well as a new standard for classifying distribution of plants based on accurate microclimate data. Moreover, it can also provide evidences of investigated plant species, such as specimen and/or pictures with connecting to the InfoBoss Cyber Herbarium (http://herbarium.infoboss. co.kr/) and Biodiversity Observation Datbase (BODB; http://www.biodiversitydb.org/).

LES-VoF를 이용한 소방용 스프링클러 헤드의 보스 및 디플렉터 치수에 따른 1차 분열 특성 분석 (Analysis of Primary Breakup Characteristics Depending on the Boss and Deflector Dimension of Fire Sprinkler Head using LES-VoF)

  • Fire sprinkler initial spray was analyzed by Large eddy simulation (LES) and Volume of Fluid (VoF) integrated method. The IsoAdvector geometric VoF was used to identify the liquid-gas interface clearly even with the large Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy number. To reduce the computational costs, sector meshes and Adaptive Mesh Refinement up to level 3 were used. Base mesh size was 1 mm, which is roughly equivalent to the initial sprinkler droplet. Top surface radius of boss and deflector size were modified to investigate the effects of sprinkler head design on primary breakup process. When top surface radius of boss was increased, vertical liquid sheet was formed. This phenomenon reduced the sheet breakup radius, sheet thickness and velocity. Due to reduced liquid sheet thickness, a large amount of ligaments was created from the liquid sheet. As a result, there was a dramatic decrease in volume per surface area, indicating an increase in breakup process. Spray pattern viewed in radial direction also changed when top surface radius of boss increased. When top surface radius of boss was increased, a T-shaped pattern was observed while a V-shaped pattern was observed in all other cases. When the deflector size increases, the spray pattern remains V-shaped, even if the top surface radius of boss increased. Further studies on promoting atomization of the water supplied to the lower part of the sprinkler head in the T-shape pattern should be conducted.

KSR-III 복합재 가압탱크의 설계 및 제작

  • 본 논문에서는 "KSR-III 복합재 가압탱크“에 대한 구조 설계/제작 과정을 기술하였다. 복합재 가압탱크는 라이너 위에 복합재가 덮어 씌워진 형태이다. 하중을 부담하지 않는 라이너는 AI 6061-0로 만들어 졌으며, 라이너는 헬륨가스 기밀만을 담당하였다. 복합재 탱크는 라이너 위에 T700/Epoxy로 와인딩 하였다. 알루미늄 라이너가 얇았기 때문에 다단계 경화 공정이 필라멘트 와인딩 기법에 적용되었다. 다단계 경화 공정은 라이너의 실린더가 원형 형상을 잃지 않게 하였다. 보스부의 체결력은 보스링에 의하여 카본섬유로 분산되었다. 또한 보스링은 보스부의 국부적 변형을 막았다.

대형선 프로펠러보스 슬립 손상부에 대한 응력 계산에 관한 연구 (The Study for Stress Calculation of Slip Damage between Propeller Boss and Shaft on the Large Vessel)

  • 프로펠러와 프로펠러축이 슬립(Slip)되는 사고가 발생하면 추진력 상실로 인한 안전과 경제적면에서 막대한 문제가 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 대형선박에서 슬립사고(Slip damage) 발생 원인을 사고 선박 승선원 면담, 신조선의 도면검토, 보험사 조사관 사고 보고서 등을 통해 조사하였다. 추가로 프로펠러의 재질에 대한 충격강도를 확인하기 위하여 압축시험을 실시하였다. 본 연구 결과는 키가 없는(Keyless type) 프로펠러의 접촉강도 설계 기준에 적용 할 수 있고, 나아가 프로펠러보스와 축이 슬립하는 사고를 방지하는데 유용한 자료를 제공 할 것으로 판단된다.
