This study investigated the difference of clothing-behavior for the same occasions in terms of a cross-cultural context. It analyzed clothing items worn by TED speakers via video at TED.com in the US, UK, France, Japan, and South Korea from October to December 2012. An analysis on the 233 videos showed considerable differences among countries. American speakers wore casual items on the top and formal wear on the bottom. Most British speakers wore the same styles on the top and the bottom outfits such as 'formal-top & formal-bottom' or 'casual-top & casual-bottom'. French speakers chose mix and match styles. Japanese and Koreans selected the same styles on the top and the bottom outfits such as 'formal-top & formal-bottom' or 'casual-top & casual-bottom'. In particular, Japanese speakers selected various casual items more than other countries' speakers. Korean senior speakers had a preference to wear more formal clothing and young people liked more casual attachments. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between perceptual orientation and four aspects of clothing behavior. Perceptual orientation was measured with Choi's Perceptual Orientation Scale, and clothing satisfaction was assessed with Lim and Lee questionnaire. Clothing importance was measured with some items of Kirby's Clothing Attitudes and additional items prepared for this study, Clothing comfort was measured Ivith some items of Creekmore Scales of Eight Clothing Variables and additional items prepared for this study. Clothing conformity was measured by some items of Selker's The Clothing Conformity Inventory and Carpenter's Clothing Opinion Scale and the Kim questionnaire, along with additional items for this study. Altogether 43 items were used. The questionnaire was completed by 480 second year junior and senior high school boys in Seoul. Statistical analysis was performed using the correlation coefficient, t-tests, multiple regression analysis, and analysis of variance. The results were : 1) Perceptual orientation was positively related to clothing satisfaction. 2) Perceptual orientation was negatively related to clothing conformity. 3) Scores of senior high school boys on self-perception and total perception were significantly higher than these of junior high school boys. 4) Clothing satisfaction, clothing conformity and clothing importance were different according to the grade level. That is, junior high school boys had a higher clothing satisfaction ana senior high school boys had a higher clothing conformity and clothing importance score.
The purpose of this study was to verify the trends of Korean students'environmental science achievement in recent two international comparative studies, TIMSS-R and PISA 2000. Participants of TIMSS-R and PISA 2000 were 8th graders and 15-years-olds, respectively. The science items in TIMSS-R assess students'science concepts in the science curriculum and science items in PISA 2000 assess scientific literacy in the 21s1 daily life. To achieve this purpose, the 14 environmental knowledge items in TIMSS-R and 16 environmental knowledge items in PISA 2000 were analyzed. As a result of the comparison between Korean- and international percent correct, Korean students showed especially higher achievement in 'resources'or'ecosystem'items. On the contrary, Korean students showed relatively lower achievement in'biotechnology'or'environmental health'items. In general, Korean female students showed lower achievement than their male counterparts. The relationship among environmental knowledge, attitudes, and behavior should be examined more systematically.

In this paper, we first examine the stochastic behavior associated with storage/retrieval process under COL policy, and give analytical results such as the limiting distributions of the number of items in the system and the expected travel distance. We also investigate the phenomenon of natural zoning, that is, the tendency of similar items to group themselves together, when two types of items with different turnover rates are stored and retrieved. Natural zoning refers to this grouping occurring under the seemingly unbiased policy COL. We show that zoning can occur naturally with batch arrivals to the storage system.
Purpose: This study was undertaken to revise and update the Nutrition Quotient (NQ) for Korean adults, a tool used to evaluate dietary quality and behavior. Methods: The first 31 items of the measurable food behavior checklist were adopted based on considerations of the previous NQ checklist, recent literature reviews, national nutrition policies, and recommendations. A pilot survey was conducted on 100 adults aged 19 to 64 residing in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province from March to April 2021 using a provisional 26- item checklist. Pilot survey data were analyzed using factor analysis and frequency analysis to determine whether checklist items were well organized and responses to questions were well distributed, respectively. As a result, the number of items on the food behavior checklist was reduced to 23 for the nationwide survey, which was administered to 1,000 adults (470 men and 530 women) aged 19 to 64 from May to August 2021. The construct validity of the developed NQ (NQ-2021) was assessed using confirmatory factor analysis, linear structural relations. Results: Eighteen items in 3 categories, that is, balance (8 items), moderation (6 items), and practice (4 items), were finally included in NQ-2021 food behavior checklist. 'Balance' items addressed the intake frequencies of essential foods, 'moderation' items the frequencies of unhealthy food intakes or behaviors, and 'practice' items addressed eating behaviors. Items and categories were weighted using standardized path coefficients to calculate NQ-2021 scores. Conclusion: The updated NQ-2021 appears to be suitable for easily and quickly assessing the diet qualities and behaviors of Korean adults.
This project was conducted using a survey method and through interviewing with four persons aged 60 years and over. An interview with an open-ended questionnaire was also used for elderly persons, families, oriental medicine doctor and nurses. topic-related literature review was also done. In total, 382 statements were derived. For content validity, nursing professionals were involved in this study, From that 48 items are developed. The subjects were 340 elderly persons over 60 years old. Data were collected duicing February and March 1997 and analyzed using the SPSS package The result are as follows. 1. Items with low Cronbach Coefficient alpha which means low correlation with total items were removed. 2. Factor analysis was done in order to confirm construct validity and eight factors were obtained from the results. The first factor, 'positive cognition of the aging process', the second factor, 'relationship network' the third factor, 'maintanence of physical functioning, the fourth factor', 'maintanence of peaceful mind' the fifth factor, 'keeping up with daily tasks' the sixth factor, 'continuous adequate body movement' the seventh factor,'involvement of religion in the elderly person's life and the eight factor', 'appropriate resting'. Cronbach Coefficient alpha for the 33 items was .9127 Based on the result, the following is suggested 1. It is anrticipated that the fundamental health of elderly person could be promoted by assessing healthy behaviors of elderly person with this assessment tool. 2. Further studies could be derived from this research. 3. Validity of this assessment tool should be further tested with and a larger sample of elderly person including in-patient elderly persons as well as nursing home residents.
