This report describes the studies as follows through the research of Basic-prescriptions about 123 prescriptions in high-chepter(上統) from Bang-Yak-Hap-Pyun(方藥合編). There are 24 Basic-prescriptions including Sagunja-tang(四君子湯), Samul-tang(四物湯), Sogeonjung-tang(小建中湯), lijung-tang(理中湯), Dangguibohyul-tang(當歸補血湯), Yijin-tang(二陳湯), Gauwon-chun(擧元煎), Jeongweon-eum(貞元飮), and Yukmichiwhang-won(六味地黃元), etc. about 123 prescriptions in high-chepter(上統) from Bang-Yak-Hap-Pyun(方藥合編). There were many cases compounding the Basic-prescriptions each other. So I investigated those cases. The results were the other typed (blended) Basic-prescriptions including Palmul-tang(八物湯), Sipjeondaebo-tang(十全大補湯), Yukgunja-tang(六君子湯), Bojungyikkee-tang(補中益氣湯), SsangHwa-tang(雙和湯), and Gwibitang(歸脾湯). And I investigated about pathologies in connection with these Basic-prescriptions. Oriental Medical Pathology applied with these Basic-prescriptions were Giheo(氣虛), hyulheo(血虛), Gihyulguheo(氣血俱虛), Biheohan(脾虛寒), Giheo-dameum(氣虛痰飮), Giheohaham(氣虛下陷), Sineumheo(腎陰虛), etc. These results indicated that 123 prescriptions in high-chepter from Bang-Yak-Hap-Pyun are composed of Bojei(補劑) to treatment against many kinds of Infirmity and promote physiological function.

Objectives : As the understand about historical consumptive part through studying prescriptions in DonguiBogam, we would like to study some modern geriatric and chronic diseases. Methods : We analyzed application frequency of basic prescriptions, symptoms of prescriptions and the pathology analysis against historical comsumptive in DonguiBogam. Results : Through investigation into application frequency of basic prescriptions, symptoms of prescriptions, and two way analysis of Qi blood(yin yang) pathologies and viscera and bowels pathologies, we were able to found mostly used basic prescription, common symptoms, and separate some characteristics pathologies. Conclusions : We expected that this study will can help to give rationale for future study of consumptive caring.

Objectivs : This report describes the studies as follows through the research of 163prescribtions in low-chapter from Bangyakhappyun. Methods : Analysis the 163prescribtions of basic prescribtions, therapeutic area, symptoms and pathology. Result : Many prescriptions are contained in the diseases areas such as defecate diseases, women diseases, internal diseases, exogenous febrile diseases. And prescriptions in the low-chapter are used in the areas such as eye, aggregation, mouth and tongue, teeth, hand, back, neck, emergency. Eighty-five basic prescriptions are analyzed from the low-chapter and the ratio of nineteen prescriptions containing Ijintang, Pyeongwisan, Oryungsan, Samultang, Sunggitang, Jichultang are over 60%. The efficacy classifications containing basic prescriptions frequently used are researched in the following order: heat-clearing and fire-purging formulae, digestant formulae, phlegm-dispelling formulae, qi-regulating formulae and blood-activating formulae. And tonifying and replenishing formulae are rarely used. Most of the prescriptions in the low-chapter are used for the excess syndrome and few of them are used for the deficiency syndrome. And six excesses, food damage, phlegm are the major causes of excess syndrome. Conclusions : As s result of study on analysis all prescriptions in low-chapter from Bangyakhappyun. We can understand more about basic prescriptions, symptoms of prescriptions and pathology.

Objectives : Consumptive is an unhealthy condition that are caused by lack of blood and essence, and that means also some stages of chronic diseases. The purpose of this study is to analysis 108 Prescriptions of Consumptive part in Dongui Bogam. Methods : The 108 Prescriptions of Consumptive part in Dongui Bogam analysed frequency of basic prescriptions, symptoms of prescriptions and the pathology. Results : Ssangbohwan, Yiuihwan, Gamrihwan were used for tonifying were mostly used as basic prescriptions in whole Consumptive part respectively. There are common symptoms in consumptive part in Dongui Bogam. That symptoms are "tidal fever, night sweating, nocturnal emission, cough, sputum, skinny body, weak pulse, spontaneous sweating, deafness, dim vision and tuberculosis". Qi blood(yin yang) pathologies in prescriptions on consumptive part are "yin deficiency, yin deficiency with effulgent fire, yang qi deficiency, dual damage of qi and blood, non-interaction between fire and water, collapse of yang and exhaustion of yin, less blood". viscera and bowels pathologies in prescriptions on consumptive part are "heart and kidney deficiency, spleen-stomach weakness, spleen and kidney great deficiency, weakness of kidney qi, meridian waste in heart, spleen and kidney, damage in heart and lung". Conclusions : As a result of Study on Analysis all Prescriptions of Consumptive part in Dongui Bogam, We can understand more about basic prescriptions, symptoms of prescriptions and the pathology that are using for curing consumptive. We expected that this study will can help to give rationale for future study of consumptive caring.

There were so many discussions about the importance of Ungi theory, but little about its application. But, in Korea, there is particular Ungi medical system. I studied the 25 organic constitutions and their prescriptions and concluded like below. In "Ounyukgihanihakbogam(五運六氣漢醫學寶鑑)", "Ounyukgihak(五運六氣學)", there are 25 organic constitutions, and each of them has its basic prescription. Like above, In "Ounyukgigeummoksuhwatosangsaengsanggeukbeop(五運六氣金木水火土相生相克法)", "Ounyukgigyeongheomcheobang(五運六氣經驗處方)", and "Jesaenglon(濟生論)", there are also 25 organic constitutions, and each has basic prescription. Moreover, there are so many prescriptions for diseases can often occur. I classified these as three groups, "Ounyukgihak(五運六氣學)" is groupⅠ, "Ounyukgihanihakbogam(五運六氣漢醫學寶鑑)" is Ⅱ, and the other books is Ⅲ, and compared each basic prescriptions. GroupⅠand Ⅱ use similar prescriptions, but groupⅢ doesn't. This Ungi medical system has little relation with "Somun(素問)". And I couldn't find the organic constitutions based on Ungi from other country's oriental medical book. 25 organic constitutions have much sameness in prescriptions. These prescriptions are used in real medical system, but not wide. Of course, it needs more research, but it has another position in oriental medicine.

Objectives : Yiemyo-San(二妙散) is a basic oriental medicinal prescription used in basically musculoskeletal pain. Way down to posterity, Yiemyo-San has been combined with various prescriptions to treat a variety of diseases. the purpose of In this study is to investigate indications and etiology of indication using Yiemyo-San. Methodes : For prescriptions combining Yiemyo-San in Dongyeubogam(東醫寶鑑), the name of prescriptions, configuration herbs and indication were investigated and prescriptions were classified according to etiology of indication. Results : the numbers of prescriptions combining Yiemyo-San in Dongyeubogam were 45. Yiemyo-San was used frequently in musculoskeletal disease such as beriberi, amyotrophy, gout and arthritis(36%). In addition, it was applied to an internal diseases, ENT diseases and headache. it was used frequently in pathological condition due to supyeol(濕熱)(45%). Yiemyo-San was combined with various prescriptions as a primary prescription at 51% and as a secondary prescription at 49%. Conclusions : When Yiemyo-San is combined with other prescription, it may be used in various disease as well as musculoskeletal disease due to supyeol. combined with various prescriptions as a primary prescription at 51% and as a secondary prescription at 49%. Objectives : This report describes 75 studies related to the use of Zingiberis siccatum Rhizoma mainly blended from Dongeuibogam. Methods : The 75 Prescriptions of Consumptive part in DonguiBogam analysed frequency of basic prescriptions, symptoms of prescriptions and the pathology. Results : Prescriptions that Zingiberis siccatum Rhizoma was taken as a monarch drug are utilized for 25 therapeutic purposes, for example, cold disease, stool disease, cough disease. In particular, 16.0% of prescriptions appear in the chapter of cold. Prescriptions that utilize Zingiberis siccatum Rhizoma as the main component are used in the treatment of cold, stool and cough disease. Zingiberis siccatum Rhizoma is used in pathogenic factors such as weakness cold and cold strength and used in pathology related to the spleen and stomach system. The dosage of Zingiberis siccatum Rhizoma is 5pun(about 1.88g) to 4nyang(about 150.4g), however 1don(about 3.75g) has been taken the most for clinical application. Ijungtang is the most useful base prescriptions which use the Zingiberis siccatum Rhizoma as the main ingredient. Conclusions : As a result of Study on Analysis all Prescriptions of Zingiberis siccatum Rhizoma in DonguiBogam. We can understand more about basic prescriptions, symptoms of prescriptions and the pathology that are using for Zingiberis siccatum Rhizoma.

Herpes simplex viruses(HSV) are one of the most common infectious virus of man. Though chemotherapies and antibiotics against HSV have been developed in many countries, but anti-HSV agents were not satisfactory to mankind by their toxic reaction and side effects. In order to search for anti-HSV agents from Korean traditional prescriptions, we extended the number of specimens. Both methanol extract and boilling water extract of the Korean traditional prescriptions were screened to detect anti-HSV activities by MTT assay. Korean traditional prescriptions showing anti-HSV activities as methanl extracts were Paekyopsan, Chesupwilyungtang, Yongdamsagantang, and prescription 11. Four methanol extracts showing anti-HSV activities were freationated by hexane and their efficacies were tested. Hexane freationations of Paekyopsan, Chesupwilyungtang, and prescription 11 showed in anti-HSV activities both haxane and methanol fractionation.

This report describes 46 studies related to prescriptions which are mainly used Semen Arecae from Dongeuibogam. The following conclusions were reached through investigations on the prescriptions that use Semen Arecae as a main component. 19.6% of a malaria, 17.4% of an evacuation problem, recorded the largest number of clinical frequency of the prescriptions in therapeutic use when Semen Arecae was taken as a main component in prescriptions Prescriptions that utilize Semen Arecae as the main ingredient are used in the treatment of a malaria, an evacuation problem and a malignant dermatosis. they are also used for treating 11 different types of diseases. The prescriptions are compounded with Semen Arecae as a main component which can be applied to an affection by wind-cold, a heat(fire) syndrome, a cold-stroke, a phlegm-retention syndrome, a constipation induced by apoplexy, a stagnation of vital energy, an asthenia of the spleen and the stomach, a convulsion caused by improper diet, a parasitic infestation and a traumatic disease. The dosage of Semen Arecae is 2.5pun(nearly 0.94g) to 3don(nearly 11.25g), however 1don(nearly 3.75g) has been taken the most for clinical application. When Semen Arecae is combined with basic prescriptions such as Ijintang and Bulium, it applies symptoms of malaria. In addition, when Semen Arecae is combined with basic prescriptions such as Daemainhwan, Soseungkitang and Samatang, it utilizes an evacuation problem.

This report describes the studies as follows through the research into the data of Rhizoma Atractylodis japonicae blended prescriptions from Bang Yahk Hap Peun. The main pathologies of Atractylodis Japonicae blended prescriptions found chills, bowels, malaria, and they are used 18 disease also. In these prescriptions, the symptoms of chills and bowels are the most frequently used. Atractylodis Japonicae main blended prescriptions use in the symptoms of Sang Han Pyo syndrome, Sang Han Yin syndrome, and they are 25 disease also. Through the research, Atractylodis Japonicae main blended prescriptions are used the pathologes of wet, internal disease, the injury of the cold and wind, stomach and spleen. The actual amount of Atractylodis Japonicae blended has a wide capacity from 6 pun to 6 don, 1-2 don is broadlly used. The structures of Atractylodis Japonicae blended prescriptions are Pyong We San, Yi Myo San, Hyang So San, Warl Gook Hwan, Gook Chul Hwan, such as basic prescriptions are most used.
