There is an increasing number of competency-based major courses organized and operated to develop various competencies. Here, competencies include key competencies/major competencies in the evaluation of basic competency diagnosis in universities, Program Outcomes of engineering education certification, and NCS competency units. The Ministry of Education's evaluation of basic university competency requires all major courses to be organized and operated to improve the major competency of the department, and major courses in the department that operates engineering education certification should be linked to Program Outcomes. Various types of competency-based major courses should be educated to improve related competencies, and educational performance should be measured by selecting a competency evaluation method that allows students to check the level of achievement in consideration of both the process and results of performance. Therefore, this paper examines the types of competency evaluation used to measure educational performance in major subjects related to competency, proposes an evaluation method that synthesizes and measures various types of competencies at the subject level, and presents examples of applying them to major subjects.

The aim of this study is to provide basic data for college life adaptation support measures at the college level by identifying college life adaptation status, the relevance of university life adaptation and the core competencies. In order to ahieve this aim there are three objectives. This study is a research study to understand the relationship between college life adaptation and core competencies of college students before and after the coronavirus. The subject of this study was 171 university students from Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Honam. Data was collected through an untact questionnaire, and data analysis was performed using the SPSSWIN 25.0 program for mean, descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, T-test, correlation, and regression analysis. As a result, first, the difficulty of "emotional adaptation" before the coronavirus was high, and the difficulty of "academic adaptation" was high after the coronavirus. Second, the core competencies of college students were highest in the order of 'interpersonal relationship competency', 'problem solving competency', and 'information communication competency'. Third, as a result of analysis of the relationship between core competency factors and adaptation to university life, difficulties in social adaptation were found both before and after the coronavirus. After the corona, difficulties in adapting to school and learning new skills appeared. In conclusion, in order for university students to adapt to university life in the post-corona era, university-level support is needed to reinforce interpersonal relations competencies in unrect situations, reinforce information and communication competencies to promote academic adaptation, and reinforce new skills acquisition competencies.
Background: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate changes in the communication capabilities of dental hygiene students after completing a problem based learning (PBL) dental communication curriculum. With this information, we intend to gather the basic data necessary to stress the need for and value of an education in communication regarding dental hygiene. Methods: PBL-based education was provided to a total of 49 third-year dental hygiene students who took the dental communication class taught by the Department of Dental Hygiene at S University during the 2nd semester of 2020. The relevant self-evaluation was modified, based on the aim of the present study, to refer to three basic key competencies related to the communication capabilities of dental hygienists. An assessment of dental communication competency was conducted by analyzing the changes in self-evaluations before and after completing the course, for each question, using a paired t-test. The statistical significance level was set at p < 0.05. Results: Analysis of core competencies before and after PBL-based dental communication education indicated that all competencies were significantly improved after education (p < 0.01). Conclusion: Dental hygiene students' dental communication skills increased significantly after completing PBL-based dental communication education. Therefore, a PBL-based dental communication curriculum is effective in improving dental communication skills for dental hygiene students.
